All facilities were very clean, deals at happy hour were so good and even though we were in the chill out hostel, had intended to be in the party one, we didn't miss out at all and would definitely recommend the pub crawl and the free walking tours. They were highlights of our trip! Towels not included so bring your own and very limited options for vegans at breakfast, no dairy free milk or yogurt available but there was a fridge and supermarkets near by which could supply necessary things. Overall it was great and very good value for money

We stayed here for only a night. It was a pleasant stay. They have AC which is controlled by the reception so have to walk to get it on. Toilets are shared by the whole floor, even though the rooms can be private. Also, they charge per person two euros for storing the bags on your check out day. Breakfast is good. Private rooms are also provided with towels, shampoo, body wash, and blankets.

I spent two night at the place and I ad a great time. The hostel was clean, easy to arrive, very convinient location. Staff was kind and helpfull. Bedrooms with lockers, air conditioning, bed sheets included. I only missed curtains on the beds. Worth breakfast included with a range variety. Kitchen with all amenities. Possible to walk for the Puerta del Sol, Grand Via, Plaza Mayor, Plaza Oriente, Círculo Bellas Artes. Many night clubs in a walkable distance and it is still possible join the parties in it's party hostle, which is only two blocks far. Cats Hostel has a family atmosphere, it is quite and peaceful, great to chill and relax. There was guests in all the sort of age.

Nice, central location. Staff is friendly, happy hour gives you cheap drinks. Rooms, however, are just too small and air conditioning can only be turned on/off by asking reception. At night, the rooms are either freezing cold because of the air conditioning or boiling hot.

Hostel is located in a very central location, very close to main train station. has very friendly staff and offer great deals for day tours and also about drinks/dinner in hostel. Main lobby area is very convenient for socializing with other travelers. Male/female separate WC and showers, +3 euro to rent towel. Totally recommended place

Awesome spot, an hostel more focus on the comfort of the common areas and quiet. Good bathroom for what you pay, but the room itself could be a bit more spacious, but even so very confortable. For being a quiet hostel it's awesome to drink a beer or the free coffee. Sadly could see the outside bar because of the weather.

Probably the worst hostel experience I’ve had. It’s a great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep, the beds are comfy, the key-system was good, the staff was quite friendly and helpful. But if you’re staying in a hostel to make friends/meet other backpackers like I was then DO NOT stay here. The place was filled with two big groups of school children probably around 14 years old, around 50 in total.. So that really ruined the backpacker atmosphere. Also the free dinner that was supposed to be on Thursday night was canceled for no apparent reason, the tapas tour on Friday that I planned my day around was cancelled when it was supposed to start because I was the only one who wanted to do it, and so was the walking tour at that starts at 12 that I wanted to do on Saturday. The bar crawl on Thursday was almost cancelled as well, but they ended up doing it when we were finally three people who wanted to go. Met a few people from Way hostel on the classic free walking tour and they really enjoyed the hostel, so I actually booked my last two nights there after being a bit fed up with the hostel. Didn’t end up actually moving as Way hostel let me eat dinner there and join their pub crawl where I finally made some friends! All the people I talked to at Way’s were really happy with the hostel, and all the people I talked to at CATS were pretty disappointed so if your not sure where to stay and are looking for some atmosphere/to make friends I would REALLY recommend choosing Way hostel instead!

This is a great cheap hostel. Don’t expect much for what your paying. The roof terrace is nice but visitors don’t really use it much. They do have a rooftop bar with happy hour-nice! The doors...oh my goodness the terrible doors. It takes a concentrated genius to open the locks to your room. I don’t know where they found this technology but it is terrible. Decent place other then that.

Yelp
Great mix of guests from all over the world! I got to know interesting/interested, open-minded people & had many interesting conversations! Also the rooftop bar is wonderful! It is fitted with a air-condition that spreads dust all over the place to cool down. Unfortunately it's only open till 23:00 h. I was welcomed warmly and because I already arrived in the morning (check-in is from 14:00 h) I could store my luggage and started discovering the City. When i came back the room was ready: a mixed bedroom for six persons with three bunk beds - very tiny (not even space enough to fall over), but with lockers ('big' enough for a backpack) and a good aircondition. I was lucky with my roommates (no snoring) and I liked it really chilling out at the common area in the basement (where also breakfast is served, nice sofas there & TV & PC's)... I never needed a PC because I always used the (free & good) WIFI on my mobile... There are also offered various activities: free paella on the rooftop, free dinner at 'Cats Hostel', Tapas tour & walking tours. I joined in two Walking tours through Madrid (they are free, you only pay tips) and there i got to know a lot about Madrid - really interesting! I also liked the breakfast which was quite good for the price (with toast, margarine, jam, four kinds of cereals, biscuits...) The location is great - in the middle of Madrid - everything you need (supermaket, stores, sightseeing-spots...) is in walking distance. The only stupid thing is, that the nearest metro-station is out of order until november (due to construction works)...

Yelp
Really chill hostel. Good bar. Free wifi. Pretty clean and the staff are really friendly. I had some trouble finding the place, but I had trouble finding almost everything in Madrid. Once you get acclimated to the area it is a really good location, close to 2 metro stops and walking distance to Puerta Del Sol. Loved the rooftop patio, and it's open until 11, which is later than the hostel I stayed in Barcelona.
