Great hostel! The location is perfect, right in the middle of Porto. You can easily get around without needing to transit/drive. The rooftop patio was really nice. The rooms were decent as well, clean and ensuite bathrooms are nice. No curtains on the beds which was unfortunate. Also make sure to bring your own lock!

Perfect hostel with easy check in, an amazing bar and upstairs there's a massive terrace with great views. Rooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable with charging stations and a light. Take a lock with you for your box to be locked. The bathroom is tight and fairly clean, so do take your sandals to take a shower to avoid foot issues later!!!

Fine stay, unfortunately had a bad experience with another guest. No curtains on the beds in our 10 bunks room. Did have a bathroom and shower in the dorm which is a plus but kind of mid overall.

The check in process was smooth and the staff who was there at the reception was really friendly. You are required to pay a 10 euro deposit when you check in, and the amount will be returned to you when you check out and hand in your key. You also would pay 4 euros for tourist tax while checking in. There is an elevator in the building, which was quite nice as I was on the 4th floor and didn't have to climb the stairs every time. I stayed in an 8 bed female dormitory room and it had 2 toilets and 2 showers. 1 toilet and shower are in the same cubicle and the others are in single cubicles. It also helped that the bathroom was inside the room. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the sheets on beds where people have checked out are changed before the next occupant checks in. The beds also have lockers underneath the bunk that are quite big and you would need a padlock to lock the drawer and secure your belongings. The hostel also has a roof top bar where you can chill during the day and hang out at night. The hostel has a laundry room where you can do your laundry for a fee (I think it was 4 euros to wash and 4 euros to dry) and you can pay 2 euros to leave your luggage in the hostel after you check out, which was quite helpful for me as my bus back was late at night and I still wanted to explore the town before I headed out. The hostel is also close to the metro and within walking distance of major tourist attractions. It's also close to Time Out Market which is a building with a number of restaurants that sell a variety of meals. Overall, I had a pleasant experience in Cats Porto Hostel.

This is, by far, the worst and most filthy hostel I’ve ever stayed in in my life. The entire hostel is filthy but ESPECIALLY if you end up in one of the buildings that is not the main one. Someone came in and trashed the kitchen in our building one night and poured milk on the floor and the cleaning staff seemingly just let it dry into the ground. 4 days later and there’s still residue and chunks of the original food that was spilled on the ground. After 4 nights and 5 days our bathrooms have never been cleaned. We have asked repeatedly to have the soap and paper towels replenished because it’s out in every bathroom we have access to, and 5 days later we’ve never had it refilled. Of the three showers we can use, two of them have broken shower doors so the water sprays out flooding the floor. I’m genuinely worried if this is the standard of cleanliness that I’m going to leave this place with bed bugs. The kitchen is disgusting. Not a single surface has ever been wiped down. Not the tables, not the fridge, not the cabinets. Your hands get sticky from touching them. The dishes are rarely actually washed and more so just rinsed off with water (which can’t be solely chalked up to being the guests fault because there also is just watery soap in the kitchen and, shocker, no paper towels). On top of the absolute filth, the bartender here is extremely aggressive about getting you to drink their overpriced crap. He’s literally harassed us to follow him to the bar to buy a drink, getting many people to do it just to get him to go away. And then when you are forced to buy a drink to make him leave you alone, he tries, continuously to sell you more than you want. Be careful coming here if you struggle with alcohol or being sober. And good luck sleeping if the people in the room above you are walking around or dragging their luggage lockers out from under the beds. The noise is not only incredibly loud but it shakes the walls of the room and is actually made worse with earplugs. They also leave the door to the main building wide open until at least after 2 am so they don’t have to buzz the smokers in and out of the building. Incredibly secure. The worst place I’ve ever stayed. If I had the money I would have left the first night.

Beds were comfortable and clean. Great location close to the cathedral and walking distance from most other attractions. Staff at desk and in bar were super friendly. There are activities like karaoke and beer pong available for the guests. Met some really lovely people, too. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing location close to basically anywhere and to the bus and metro stations! Amazing kind staff! I stayed two nights there and felt very welcomed and comfortable. Super nice staff and very clean hostel.. the simple breakfast is worth and enough. I totally recommend this place specially to solo female travellers. I asked them to keep my laptop somewhere safe and they kindly put it in their office. Would always back.

Never found so fast so many so nice people on one place. The pub crawl was also really nice, the happy hour at the bar is awesome and all the hosts were super friendly. So I can highly recommend this hostel! Was so fun to stay here for two nights.
