What looks more like a municipal building or museum from the outside is actually a beautiful cathedral, with some pretty ceilings and alters. What mostly caught our eyes were the colourful windows and the lights that played over the inside. There were some information boards but none in English.

The old town of Perugia is a true gem of Umbria – perched on a hilltop, with narrow cobblestone streets, medieval walls, and stunning views of the surrounding valleys. The atmosphere is authentically Italian: the aroma of coffee, local restaurants serving homemade pasta, and a lively student vibe thanks to the university. It’s the perfect place for strolling, art, and history – without the crowds of mass tourism.

A nice cathedral providing a moment of peace and escape from the heat.

For those who wish to experience a holy event and pilgrimage: Best time to go is JULY and SEPTEMBER when the relic of the HOLY RING OF OUR LADY is exposed

Impressive in parts but not overwhelming. There are a handful of interesting artworks but the overall feeling in the interior is far less impressive than the Duomo’s piazza facade.

Magnificent cathedral. The paints in the roof are a work of art. Is the most important church in Perugia and is very impressive. Also, it is located in the Piazza IV November, near other landmarks of the city.

We crashed a mass, so we went back later. Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Lawrence build in 15th century. What is interesting about it is that the main doors are not facing the main square. Frescoes are beautifull, especially on ceiling. Inside u can find at the back of the church in front of an altair a relic. It is a Holy ring which is simbolizing marriage between Mary and Joseph.
