Cauquenes de Nimez

We had a lovely stay at Cauquanes de Nimez! It is located very nicely, just a few minutes walk from the nimez lagoon and ca 10-15min walk from the city center. The hotel has a very cosy and homely feel to it. The rooms were simple, but tidy and had everything one needs. The service was excellent, helpful and everyone made us feel welcome (special thanks to the lovely receptionists Flor and Mayra!). We would definitely come again 5/5

The room smelled musty and dusty. The hotel said they would arrange a private transfer, but there wasn’t anyone to pick us up from the airport. After waiting almost an hour, we were then overcharged by the taxi the hotel sent to pick us up. The free breakfast was okay, but the coffee tasted strange.

Unfortunately the most disappointing stay of our holiday. Small room, noisy (could hear everything from the neighbouring room), dirty. Looks attractive on photo but isn’t. Breakfast was not good either, no fresh products. Poor stay.

This hotel is a fantastic hotel! It is located just a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town and has some incredible views of the lagoon and the mountains in a quite and safe residential neighborhood. The staff (especially Ana, Ana, and Diana) are AMAZING! Super sweet and helpful and give the best food recommendations. The breakfast is good and the restaurant in the evening is cozy and warm. There is also a great homemade restaurant at less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel as well. The wifi is generally good and the rooms are comfortable, warm, and the shower is warm and soothing. Would absolutely stay here again when in El Calafate!

Fantastic lodge in perfect location. You are a 3 minute walk from Lago Argentina, set in mountains with horses milling about, near the amazing Lagunez de Nimez bird reserve. Even though you are away from downtown the fantastic El Cucharon and the pretty good La Cantina are both within a 5 minute walk overlooking the lake. ||Staff is both friendly and helpful, definitely download whatsapp for local communication, can help with activity, restaurant reservations and taxis. ||Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Bird sounds making sleeping soothing.||Only downside is that the free breakfast probably should be better. I did not try the restaurant as a result.

A very good and family-friendly hotel! The owner of this hotel is a nice smiley lady. Her attention to the guests makes your stay better! The location is okay. El Calafate is not a big city and you can reach the center in 10-15 min by walking. But nearby the hotel there is amazing view with the lake and mountains! The breakfast was good. Everything you need. The service is great. We are very thankful to this hotel because they helped to arrange transfer to the airport for us! It was a big problem because we were leaving on Christmas and no taxi works during the holiday. We recommend to stay at this nice place!

Very nice hotel near the lake. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast and laundry service. Wi-fi. Within walking distance of downtown. Coordinated taxi service and shuttles for us. Some currency exchange. Wildlife preserve and good restaurant nearby.

Stayed here as part of a tour. Was not central to town, rooms are very small, overwhelming musty smell in several rooms, & you can absolutely not get a cup of hot water without paying for it. Breakfast was meager. Would not stay again, as there are plenty of options in the town.
