We stayed in the Cavalier Ocean View Suite. We had no ocean view since we were in the second floor. At best, Ocean Drive was the only view. This was misleading advertising. Our arrival was disappointing. We waited in the lobby for 20 minutes for someone to check us in–mind you the lobby is a restaurant. Got to the room with no AC. We told front desk, and we bared it for the night. They “fixed” it, but the room has so many windows the AC can’t keep up in July summer. I would not recommend these rooms unless you are comfortable sleeping in 75+ deg. F temperatures. There are fans in both rooms. Sofa room was nice to have since the room would have been small otherwise. Location is nice and staff are kind. There was always a lot going on outside, but the sound was minimal. Vintage hotel elevator was cool.

My wife and I had a great experience at the Cavalier. After our cruise, we were looking for 1 night. I called the front desk to see if we could check in early and they were extremely accommodating. They got us checked in at 10am and it was great to drop off the luggage. Room was very clean and comfortable. It's right across from the beach and many restaurants. Highly recommend.. great service, great location, and a good value!

Be careful in your room! Within just a few hours of checking in, a man used a key to enter my room—not once, but twice. This was extremely alarming and left me feeling unsafe and violated in what should be a secure, private space. What made this situation even more unsettling was the response I received from the front desk. When I reported the incident, the staff member was completely dismissive. They made no effort to verify whether the individual was part of the cleaning staff or if a key had been given to the wrong person. Instead, I was met with an indifferent, “I don’t know what to tell you,” which I found to be both unprofessional and deeply troubling. The lack of urgency and accountability around this matter raises serious concerns about your hotel’s safety protocols and guest care standards. I would appreciate immediate clarification on how this breach occurred and what steps will be taken to ensure the safety and privacy of guests moving forward.

We had kind of a basic, no view room. The sink faucet’s water was a very thin drip, but the rain shower was excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had the complementary breakfast and waited quite a while, but all of the plates, for everybody seemed to come out at the same time. This resulted in room temperature eggs, potatoes, etc. I am always annoyed by mandatory resort fees when we only stay one night and have no opportunity to use their beach facility before checking out at 11 AM.

The Cavalier Hotel has a lot going for it—an unbeatable location right on Ocean Drive, just steps from the beach, and walking distance to great restaurants and nightlife. The building has a unique historic charm, and the room was clean, cozy, and well-decorated. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The TV in my room wasn’t working, and the staff couldn’t get it fixed during my stay. Also, the elevator often didn’t work, so be prepared to climb up to three flights of stairs if your room is on a higher floor. Despite those issues, I still enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back for the location and character of the hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights while waiting for our cruise to set sail and we literally stumbled on this gem.||The hotel was very comfortable and accommodating to our needs with a very stylish art deco design. Breakfast was provided with a nice choice each morning.||One of the biggest perks was that it's right on the beach, literally 2 minutes from the front door and you're there. There is the option included to hire beach chairs/sun loungers but we didn't take advantage of this.||Cannot recommend this hotel enough and would love to visit again in the future.

Do not stay here if you value sleep. While the hotel has visual appeal, the super this walls and doors, and wood flooring in the hallway cause every sign to echo through the entire floor. So when people come back to their rooms at 2 in the morning and have conversations in the hallway, walk back and forth in heels, or leave their doors open like it’s a college dorm and not a hotel you will be woken up,|And when the fire department is called to the hotel to investigate a smoky smell but the hotel staff does nothing to warn you that there might be danger and also doesn’t let you know that it’s safe to return to the room you evacuated only because you heard other guests in the hallway talk about the fire department being there, there goes another night’s sleep.|So a two night stay turned into two very sleepless nights.

I'm so glad I chose to stay at the Cavalier hotel on Miami Beach. The furnishings and decor are gorgeous, the staff were helpful, my room was very clean and comfortable. You cannot beat the location. It was a short walk to the beach with a beach chair and towel included in your stay. You do have to pay $20 to use a beach umbrella and that was annoying. That's the only negative thing I have to say about it. Ate at their restaurant a few times and the food was great. I enjoyed sitting at the outdoor restaurant and watching all the different people, fancy cars rolling by, beach goers, street hawkers. Great people watching spot, clearly a hot spot for both visitors and locals. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here, just wish the beach umbrellas were included too.

Yelp
. It is located in the Art Deco area on Ocean Ave actually the street from the park and beach access . The place is quaint, comfortable room and clean. They had a bottle of wine for us at check in and bottled water in the room. Rooms have refrigerator and a safe. They have a hot breakfast included with the room. Service was casual and friendly. Love the antique elevator from the 1930's. Parking is in nearby garage. Ocean Ave has been closed in front of the hotel so approach from Collins rd at 13th where the garage is. If it's full, try a garage at 1041 Collins Ave. oh no bugs found in our room......ok When you park in a garage in this area... find the office and negotiate a price or try for the days you're staying.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for two nights. It's pretty pricey but the location is amazing. My husband was not thrilled with our stay. They double charged us for a resort fee. Complementary snacks and drinks were promised to be in our room and there was only a Diet Coke and ginger ale. They could invest in better pillows. The place was very clean and well taken care of. The staff was always nice and helpful. I would recommend this hotel but my husband says otherwise lol

Yelp
Karel and Philipe provided excellent customer service, they were very kind and attentive. The hotel is in a pretty nice area, 3 min walk to the beach and next to lots of places to eat :-) yippee

Yelp
The service was nice the reception workers were very friendly the room was clean but little small all staff were very friendly I liked the hotel

Yelp
Only ate breakfast here. First of all, the service is incredible. The waiters and water waitress are so kind and attentive. Delicious food despite limited menu. Not surprised it's a small boutique hotel offering exactly what you would need for breakfast. I wish people tipped before they walked away.

Yelp
Stayed for 1 night, the customer service was great by Karel and Phillipe! They made the stay that much better. Would recommend if you're looking for a place minutes from the beach. Added bonus is you get two beach chairs included with the room!

Yelp
Nice place but my room has zero ventilation and is hot and stuffy. The hotel can only offer to move me to a different room after 5 hours.

Yelp
Cavalier South Beach Hotel on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach has everything that you need in a place to stay. I have been impressed with their level of customer service and everything that they offer here. Good overall experience every time.

Yelp
So I stay at a lot of hotels .. I travel A lot and I'm not too picky ... but yo!!! This Halloween Victorian inspired vintage gem on ocean drive .. yes please x100!!! The vintage elevator it's self is amazing. The room is small but so smart. They work with other vendors for breakfast and parking but it's Miami Beach ?! What do you expect ?! Hear me out someone needs to host a Halloween party here .... ! Cost is great! Location is great! Interior is great! The shower is great ! So get some flair and book your stay here. And invite me to that Halloween party !!!

Yelp
So I went to this hotel with a few of my buddies as we went to Miami for the big Broncos vs. Dolphins game. I've had the most horrific experience of my life at this dirty ass hotel!!!!!! I flew home and went straight to the urgent care only to find that I've been bitten by bed bugs!!!!! the so called manager Felipe is the absolute worse! I should have left the damn hotel after the first night. I reported that it felt like something was biting me. No protocols to determine the source of my issue occurred. Things got progressively worse. Finally, I couldn't take the sensation of something on me that I couldn't see. I finally went to the front desk and the moved me to another room. Later that morning I asked for the manager. I was told that Felipe would not be on the premises before 9 am. Since I had an early flight, I spoke to Felipe about my experience. He was short and nasty explaining that there was nothing that he could do for me! I asked for the owner's information as I would like to file a complaint and was told that I can send the information to him and he would forward my concerns. That's crap because he did nothing! Well as promised, I am looking into possible public health code violations and see what else can be done. In closing, this was the worse experience for a boutique hotel on south beach. Lesson learned..... I will never stay in a place like this again. Oh! but this is not how this story is going to end. I have a lot of writing and escalating to do. STAY AWAY FROM THE BUGS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
The Cavalier Hotel is quaint and elegant at the same time. It is located on the north end of Ocean Drive in South Beach. (Right across from Lummus Park). It's an older hotel that reflects the "Art Deco" neighborhood, but it definitely has its own style which is very classy. The lobby has bright green walls and ornate antique-style furniture and many decorative accents like pillows, curio cabinets, and chandeliers. There is also a station that provides water and coffee to guests. There is a cool looking bar in the lobby as well; however it was not open at all during our stay. Rooms are more modern, but with minimal furniture. They are very well maintained. The room we stayed in had a king bed, and that took up most of the room. The only view we had was of the alley & the wall of the hotel next door. (This is the case with many of the other older South Beach hotels.). The bathroom was nice with quality toiletries and a "rain" style overhead shower. Service at the front desk was good; however the walls are kind of thin because we were woken up at 2 a.m. by a man screaming & arguing and apparently getting thrown out. You could hear every word he said, and the screaming went on till about 3 a.m. There is also a resort fee of $28 per night. There is no pool or gym, but they do give you 2 breakfast vouchers per room to eat at nearby Havana 1957. They also provide beach towels and the beach is directly across the street. We were there during the Hyundai Air & Sea Show as well as "Urban Beach Week." Most of Ocean Drive was closed to vehicular traffic because it was so busy. (There is always some kind of event going on, so this is a common occurrence.). There is hardly any street parking nearby, so If is a good idea to use Uber or Lyft. There are many restaurants, bars, and shops nearby so there's not much need for a car anyway.

Yelp
Clean rooms, waterfall shower, and right on the beach. Eduardo was very helpful and was willing to change my room from a single to a double to accommodate.

Yelp
The Cavalier was a wonderful experience. Located directly across Ocean Drive from the beach it had all you need for a great vacation at South Beach. The staff were friendly and attentive. Nesrine was fabulous, the room was spotless, well appointed, and quiet. Daily breakfast was fresh, and delicious and Happy Hour drinks, and snacks, scrumptious. We had a great stay and recommend this place highly.

Yelp
We checked in late Tue last week, had a hard time locating the hotel as the road infront of it is blocked, there is no parking but we parked at the public garage behind the hotel and dragged all our luggage (a good 5min walk) to the hotel. First impression, friendly staff, cozy ambiance, looks like a restaurant from the outside. Checked in with a $20+ resort fee.. FUN BEGINS: at around 3AM, they were banging on our door saying there's a leakage from our bathroom- someone came in checked the bathroom and left... 20 mins later... another knock.. this time asking us to move to another room. Half sleep, exhausted from our trip, we moved to another room and our morning plans for that day was ruined, lack of sleep, headache, we couldn't take a shower as there was no water that morning. We had to go back and forth from room 1 to room 2 (which was upstairs) to get things.. we we leaving Miami that day. The hotel staff took our stuff from the room and we lost our battery pack and a key lime cheesecake that we left in room 1. We were too tired at this point and just left. They did not charge us the resort fee but I think they should refund us the stay! AWEFUL end to a wonderful vacation we were on!

Yelp
I want to give the Cavalier Hotel more than 3 stars but dang, that shower in our room was a literal drizzle that it would keep me from returning. But let's back up and start with some good stuff. Location location location! Staying on Ocean Drive is fun, vibrant and convenient. We loved sittings the high top tables on the front porch for our own happy hour with a bottle of wine while enjoying the view. A great spot to relax before going out to dinner. The people watching is great plus lots of cool cars driving down the strip. The inside of the hotel is very nice. The Art Deco decor is fun and everything looks well maintained and clean. They have a nice breakfast in the lobby in the morning which consists of coffee, juice, croissants, French bread and jams, hard boiled eggs, fresh cut fruit, etc. The hotel staff was very nice at the front desk and our room was cleaned every day while we were out and about. The room itself was nice and attractive. It really needs a luggage rack, but otherwise they did a good job with a tiny space. Our room (104) was on the first floor so it was a bit noisy in the morning when the staff was setting up for breakfast around 6:30am. You could here lots of talking and banging around so consider bringing earplugs if you want a leisurely morning in bed. My only big disappointment was the shower. It is a rain shower which is fine but the rain is more like a drizzle than a nice shower storm! The water pressure is not strong and it made it difficult to wash long hair. Even my husband who has a shaved head complained. Also, there were 2 occasions where the hot water was not working. Saturday morning of our stay there was no hot water and the hotel staff said there was a problem with the boiler. We decided we would go ahead with our bike ride and beach outing and shower late afternoon before dinner so we managed. Sunday morning we had to be up early to depart and again the water was cold. I did a quick rinse and didn't wash my hair because who wants to deal with that at 6am. For the money and caliber of hotel you should have hot water and good water pressure. It was enough of an inconvenience that I would stay somewhere else on a return visit.

Yelp
Location: 5 stars Right on the Miami Beach strip close to everything. In-Room Amenities: 4 stars Great bed, great shower, nice shower products, decent coffee, air conditioner controls easy to use, in room entertainment is fine if you're not spending your entire day in a hotel room. Common Hotel Amenities: 3 stars It's more of a sleep and leave kind of hotel- not a camp out in the common areas with lots of amenities kind of place. The common areas are somewhat limited and restricted in what they can offer, there's a sense that providing full service is above and beyond the budget of the hotel and it's rooms. Design Aesthetic: 4 stars Fun and quirky design make for some instagrammable images around the property. The historic Art Deco exterior and Gatsby-like interior give a fun and fanciful vibe. Overall: 4 Stars If you need a great bed, and a great shower right on the strip, and don't plan to spend much time in the room or hotel, this is a perfect choice in the middle of everything.

Yelp
I liked the patio area/ bar outside. There are tables everywhere for you to sit at and enjoy music or watching a game on tv.

Yelp
DON'T BOOK HERE! Yes the decor is nice but that's as much as this hotel has to offer. There's no security, anyone can walk into the hotel at any time. A bottle of wine was suppose to be left in the room upon arrival. That didn't happen "we forgot" was the answer we were met with. "We will have it in there today", the wine NEVER arrived but they charged the card on file for it once we left. The AC in our room was broken. After complaining about if for three days a women on her cell phone came in the room and flipped the switch to auto .. it still didn't work. You would think they would off to switch our room. Valet wasn't in front of the hotel and there was no information informing us that it had moved or how to get in contact with the valet people. There was food and drinks in the refrigerator from previous guests. The shampoos and conditioners in the bathroom we're unsealed which is UNACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY WITH COVID! The bathroom door was unable to close completely and the shower door was nonexistent causing water to go everywhere. The shower was a rain shower which is a nice concept except when you want to get sand off your body, the water never got hot. When the maid did come, she took our towels and didn't replace them with new ones, no one swept, and the bed was unmade. They also advertise a restaurant/bar ... that is nonexistent. This hotel has no restaurant/bar. When asked about it the man behind the counter laughed. For the amount of money spent, I feel like we stayed at a motel 6.

Yelp
First of all, This hotel is absolutely beautiful! But, what really has me writing this review is the hospitality! Phillip, at the front desk, has been so friendly and helpful. In '20-'21, we are realizing and appreciating things that we took for granted pre pandemic. Note to Cavalier Hotel: Phillip is the employee every hotel needs. From the first conversation to every morning of our stay, We were welcomed with friendly service.

Yelp
We tried their restaurant up front but my family thought it was just like an ordinary tasting food. Nothing special too! We were just tired of walking an ended up here. Hehehe next time walk that 2 blocks more to get to Ocean 10!

Yelp
TLDR at the bottom. Pro: hot water. Breakfast was okay but that's because it was off site. Con: everything else. For starters, there is only half a shower door, so no matter how hard you try every time you shower, the floor gets flooded. Not to mention, the plaster around the shower head wasn't finished and was bubbling and leaking water. Next, the actual door to the bathroom was a sliding door that left gaps on each side of the door unless you spent 5 minutes trying to make it cover each gap perfectly. BUT WAIT, there's more. If you were actually sleeping, which is very unlikely because the walls are PAPER thin (you can hear conversations, televisions, bathroom fans, etc) you'll definitely be woken up by housekeeping staff yelling and banging around at about 6 am (who, by the way, took the liberty of throwing out a picture we had drawn of us the one time we had housekeeping services). Also, we got dirty towels to replace our clean ones. Speaking of hearing the television, it usually didn't work. And since door issues seem to be a running theme, if you don't SLAM the door to your room, it doesn't actually lock. Talk about a HUGE safety concern. Also, be prepared to walk up and down the stairs to your room all day long since the elevator is never really available and can barely fit two people. However, the women at front desk seemed less than interested in helping us with any of our concerns. TLDR: SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY AND STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

Ayra S.

Yelp
This hotel was definitely not the best experience. When we checked in the front desk person was not very welcoming. The charges were very confusing. I still don't understand them. Once we got to our room I pulled the sheets back on the bed only to find bugs in the bed. We weren't sure if they were bed bugs, but they were moving around. Of course we were disgusted. We took pics and videos (I wish Yelp would let you upload videos so you could see how they were all over the bed) so we could show the front desk so our room could be changed. The front desk person didn't even really seemed concerned. He didn't care that we were upset. I asked him could he be upgraded since our room was not up to the standards that were advertised...the bugs just made it even worst. He simply moved us to another room. He didn't seem to care so it was very unprofessional. The ac didn't work most days. The elevator wasn't working either so many people complained about those two issues. The location was great, but other than that I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I don't want to stay anywhere where there are bugs infesting their beds...especially during a pandemic. This let us know the rooms aren't cleaned very well.

Yelp
This art deco hotel is truly a hidden gem on Ocean Avenue in South beach. The pictures did not due the hotel justice. It was built in the 1930's and still maintains the charm. Philip at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. He checked us in early and notice that I was to be given a bottle of wine on my arrival. The lobby is beautifully decorated. Our room was clean and is very quiet. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The bathroom seems to be recently renovated . The shower was fantastic. The provided you with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the products.Even though it is located on Ocean avenue, it is close enough to the action but not in the noisy section. The elevator was a vintage elevator which was a unique(good) experience. Philip gave us a recommendation for lunch which was a great find. There is a resort fee which covers wifi, beach chairs ect. They have an agreement with a restaurant 2 blocks away which will provide breakfast. The breakfast was outstanding quite substantial. We had dinner at the hotel one night and I would highly recommend it. It seems as if the restaurant is only open on Thursday - Sunday. My husband had chicken parmigiana with pasta and I had mahi mahi with veggies. Both meals were excellent . The room were cleaned daily which is very unusual during Covid. Housekeeping staff was very polite and professional.

Yelp
Nesrine and Eduardo greeted us with so much professionalism. Not only did they greet us in this beautiful hotel with so much respect but they were also very personable. My wife and I felt like we were at home but it was the 1920's! What an amazing historical hotel. A must stay!

Yelp
I was looking for a hotel to stay a couple of days with my son, close to the beach and on ocean drive if possible. Couldn't find any better, the hotel has a lot of personality, nice and cozy, right in the middle of Ocean Drive, across the street form the beach, walking distance from Restaurants, Starbucks, Lincoln Road Mall... Breakfast is included; Coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, breads, danish, croissants...enough to start your day. Shay the receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming! Fast check-in. Only Minuses are the Overwhelming fragrance in the Lobby and in our case the view (next building wall) and size of our bedroom (a bit too small). Definitely recommend this Hotel, for couples, family or if you are traveling solo. We really enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
This is a quiet and small hotel located directly across the street from Miami Beach so the location is ideal. Beach towels and chairs are included for the guests. In order to get a beach chair you have to walk down the beach a few minutes, they are not directly across from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, answering any questions I had. As for the room it was nice, but on the smaller side. There was no luggage rack. Thankfully we were there for one night and had smaller bags so we were able to put them on the small dresser and night stand. The bathroom was very small and did not have a fan. The bed was comfortable but needed to be oiled. Every time we moved in the middle of the night it would creak. The temperature never changed in the room even after we adjusted the thermostat to a cooler setting. I went and spoke to the front desk about it, but unfortunately their effort to help did not prevail. That was disappointing and left us for a hot and restless nights sleep. Maybe it was because the fan was not blowing any air in the room to help create white noise or maybe it's just how the hotel is built, but you could hear every sound from the hall.

Jeanie W.

Yelp
I booked this room through Expedia and I didn't realize until the night before that I purchased a room solitude only a double bed. I meant to book either two beds or one king size bed for my 16 old daughter and me. I called the night before our stay and spoke with Eddie at the hotel. I explained the situation, he was very accommodating and stated that he would be working the night with my daughter and he would take care of us. Eddie was there to greet us when we got in late on a Friday night and did accommodate a larger bed for my daughter and me. He was very professional accommodating and was a pleasure to be around.

Yelp
I don't understand the low average rating for the Cavalier Hotel because I really enjoyed my stay! Firstly, it is very conveniently located on Ocean Drive. You are across the street from the beach and right in the hubbub of South Beach. The staff was also super friendly and had my room ready for an early check in. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious enough. There is a fridge with two free bottles of water. Also loved the art-deco-ness of the hotel with the vintage looking furniture and chandelier in the lobby and photos of Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor in the stairwell. The elevator is also one of those old school ones that you have to pull close and only fits two people. I did end up taking the stairs to my room on the third floor because the elevator freaked me out a little. The reason I'm taking a star off is for the $17/day/person resort fee. It's supposed to cover coffee (offered in the lobby), beach towels, and breakfast. The coffee and beach towel were great perks. I could've done without the breakfast. The breakfast is actually at Havana 1957, a restaurant two doors down. You get two eggs, bacon or sausage, slice of toast, and coffee or tea. The food was mediocre, and it wasn't really free because I was charged an 18% service charge. It's not that I don't want to tip, it's more that I don't really like the bait and switch. Had I known that I would still have to pay, I would've gone elsewhere, which was exactly what I did after the first morning. All in all though, I would definitely recommend a stay here at the Cavalier!

Karisa G.

Yelp
Wonderful stay! We switched from another hotel and got a better view and room. Highly recommend getting the suite with a couch + facing the ocean. Great location and relatively quiet for where it's at. They have beach chairs up the street and they supply beach towels at the desk.

Yelp
This place is a joke. The valet parking stole money from me stating that I had an oversized vehicle. Although the the person that checked me in verified I had a compact car they still didn't remove the charge. The place was not clean, super noisy and the bed was so uncomfortable. Never again.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
This hotel is terrible. We had a reservation for our honeymoon weekend and the hotel did not allow us to check in. Check in time was at 3 pm and we were advised that we needed to wait 35 minutes in front of a gated community in the middle of the street until the front desk valet would allow us to check in and allow us to park to complete check in. This hotel is garbage and so is their customers service. They tried to steal our money by saying we had to wait until Monday which was our check out date to mark us as a no show. We understand that the hotel industry is hurting due to COVID restrictions but so are we and to throw away almost 400 dollars is uncalled for. They suck never again they stole my money

Yelp
This is a tough review. Upon arrival at this hotel, I was surprised at how low the rating was on yelp as the place (decor) was adorable and very art-deco, the location was amazing (across from beach) and the staff was pleasant. They had a sitting area available in the lobby, as well as coffee/tea/water available 24/7. We were charged a resort fee but that was cheaper then what we saw other hotels were charging, and it included towels/beach chairs and breakfast. Our room was larger then we expected, it had a king bed, flat screen tv and mini refrigerator. The refrigerator did have bottles of water in it but we were unsure if they were complimentary or not so we did not drink them. The tv had limited channels which was a disappointment. The walls were paper thin and we heard everything happening in the hallway and outside. I'm unsure as to where construction was taking place but we were woken at 6am but loud construction noises outside our window, and by banging of doors in the hallway and could not go back to sleep. We also found a spot of blood on the comforter upon check-in. Breakfast was actually located down the block at a restaurant called Havana 1957. We were given the choice of eggs or pancakes with a side of sausage or bacon and toast or bagel, coffee was also included. We both got scrambled eggs which came in a skillet with some potatoes and peppers. Breakfast was decent considering it was included and staff was nice. We still tipped here since it was a separate entity. The hotel in general was a great location but if you don't like loud noises I'd consider staying elsewhere

Yelp
The desk staff was very nice. However this hotel gave me haunted vibes. The elevator lights kept flickering on and off and a bunch of pictures with eyes everywhere. Luckily I left for a early morning flight so I didn't sleep there....Creepy. Wouldn't be surprised if it was haunted.

Yelp
This is a really nice hotel right in a great part of South Beach. Beach is right across the street, free beach towels provided. Next door are lots of great restaurants and bars. Rooms, showers, elevator, etc are a bit small, but hey this hotel was built in 1936. The bed is super comfortable, rooms are quiet, actually got some sound sleep for the little time we spent in the room. Service has been great, everyone with a smile. Rooms have a small closet, ironing board, hair dryer and a mini fridge with -- can you believe it?! -- free bottles of water. Not getting charged $18 for a pint of Crystal Geyser, huge bonus points. Only thing we wish they had was coffee in-room or at least downstairs. But this has been a nice gem of a hotel and would def stay here again.

Yelp
Do not stay here. This place is a scam. They have periodically charged my card, and the cards of at least two other guests, $200 about every two weeks since our stay. I called them immediately after the first charge was made and was told the issue would be resolved and a manager or accountant would be in contact with me. After a month and another charge being made to my card they're still claiming a glitch and they'll get back to me, but they've taken to blocking my calls . They are charging people's cards and hoping no one will notice and refuse to refund the money. The owners or managers running this scam are criminals. If you've stayed with them please check your card statements!

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel. Wife and I paid a premium for the suite. Well we were informed when checking in that the sink hot water was broke so to just use the cold only. There were no towels in the room, it literally took 20 minutes for the shower water to get hot enough to use and I tried it on two different occasions. Seems that they attempted to silicone the plate on around the shower handle and it fell off while using the shower. They do not offer any drinking cups or any accessories so make sure you bring what you need. Unfortunately there was music playing somewhere close by so we could hear the sound of music till around 2. Then to top it off when we left the next morning, they told us that there would be a taxi waiting for us but that was not the case, they called in a private limo service which charged us a premium. This is not the service expected when we paid over $450 for a one nights stay

Yelp
I am still here but i will write review. We r here for 2 nights. Check in quick. They were so friendly and nice to us. Explain everything from A to Z. This hotel is small but right on south beach so that mean perfect location. Room is small also but if u can read when u book this rooms u know what u r getting so no one can complain later about size of this room. We love it even if we cant hang all your clothes. Its cozy nice comfy room. If u wanna have hotel at south beach u know that Ocean dr. Street is all about night life so u cant complain about noises and how loud u can hear outside life. Y'all know where u booking room. Beds are comfy. Rain shower and clean bathroom. They let u borrow beach towel if u need it. Rent bikes right cross road in park. Ocean 1 min walk distance. Restaurants any direction. Starbucks on every corner. Breakfast is in price but its more like snack with coffee nothing crazy so don't complain because many hotels u have to pay $$$$$. Here is least something then u can eat more outside. We were worry about parking but no worry at all. Right behind corner 20 seconds away is big parking garage. 20$ a day or 1$ per hour. Total for stay for two nights is 270$ which is perfect price. We paid 260$ ( 600$ ) for one night at Hilton and it was way worse experience then this small nice hotel.

Yelp
I stayed here this week. I love this hotel! Shay was The front desk greeter. She was so kind and helpful. Our room was gorgeous , clean and the bathroom was so spacious! The decor of the room and hotel was just as in the pictures but even classier in person. There is a parking garage for $20 /24 hours right behind the hotel. Loved the wallpaper in the hallways, so unique . Can't wait to go back again !

Yelp
Don't do it!! Was so disappointed in this hotel. We paid for a suite so it should have been their best room. At checkin we were informed that the left faucet was not working and to please not use it. So we not cold water in the sink.. not the worst thing but come on we paid $450 for this room. So we paid and proceeded to the room via an old elevator which at first I thought was quaint. It was hard to get going and you need to be a body builder to open and hold the elevator gate as you maneuver through the small opening. Next the room.. room appears nice- no problem there. But.. no towels( they forgot to bring them). Shower took well over 10 mins to get warm let alone get hot. Surprisingly as I was turning the dial to start the water the faceplate fell off! A note also the they do not provide water or even a cup for water. Next morning really made me mad as I asked them to call a taxi. A car came but it was someone they called not a taxi. Instead of the normal $35 they wanted $42. That is not cool!!

Yelp
You cannot beat the location and the staff are all so kind. We unfortunately did not make it to the restaurant during our stay but the food looked amazing. Fresh coffee available all day and the included breakfast and a close by restaurant was really convenient and delicious.

Yelp
My review would be four stars, but making it 5 because of the excellent service we received at this hotel by Johnathan & Kathy who were working the front desk when we checked in and another very helpful young lady who I wish I would have gotten her name. She wore a beautiful Jamaican inspired dress. She helped us with the TV when it wouldn't work. They were kind, courteous and made sure we had everything we needed. It's the service at hotels that makes me overlook ANY other problem I may encounter. Like the lack of shelves in the shower, counter space in the bathroom or luggage racks in the room. All was looked overlooked due to the amazing service by the staff.

Yelp
We drove 4hrs and needed assistance with directions due to the closure of Ocean Dr. we called repeatedly on our drive there and once arriving to the area with NO answer. We also needed help with parking/valet - this was a nightmare with the amount of time it took to wait for valet - We finally had to walk the block in the rain only to be met with substandard and very poor front desk service. We were given the room at the back of the hotel, which had broken fixtures and smelled like marijuana. We called the front desk for an hour with NO answer. I would not recommend based on the unexceptional and unacceptable level of customer service. I will NEVER return here!

Yelp
I called to inquire about reservations in December. Someone answers the phone and just hung up. I called back several times and nobody answered my call.::: Well- a few weeks later:: Today, 11/21-- I phoned yet again, this time the caller answered the phone and threw me on hold without any greeting. I was on hold for 5 minutes and just hung up. With this level of service no wonder they have a 2.5 star out of 5. I used to work for Chris Blackwell, Island Outpost Hotels and the Cavalier was one of the properties I worked at. The current owners haven't a clue as to how to run this business. Phone etiquette is terrible and it's frustrating as a consumer looking for a hotel and being met with this service. First impressions are everything and they've failed twice. I will certainly write this hotel off for any clients as they cannot run a business properly. If they can't answer the phones properly how can they accommodate requests of quests?

Yelp
Excellent stay at the Cavalier!! The decor is beautiful with Updated bathrooms. An amazing location in South Beach. They have water and tea available in the lobby and it smells so nice! Very clean. Excellent customer service from Phillip and Ernesto. Will definitely stay here again when we come to SouthBeach.

Yelp
I absolutely love the decor!! And in my opinion the staff was fine. In fact, most of them were friendly and helpful. However, the hotel was really quiet, which was unusual to me because it's in such a great location. I stayed here by myself, so after being alone for a while I started to get a little spooked. The view from my window was a cement wall and a dark secluded alley. There were a few other things that threw me off, but long story short, I WOULD recommend staying here if you're someone that's into neat decor, privacy, and great SOBE location. However, I personally wouldn't stay here alone again.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at The Cavalier this past weekend. It's a really elegant hotel in the Art Deco area and RIGHT across from the beach. The decor is amazing and it smells so good especially since it's so close to the water. I had about 5 rooms and even though we got there early they still let us check in. They only have one elevator, but it's so cool. Very old school and unique. The rooms exceeded my expectations. I double rooms were small, but so nice. The ocean view suite was spacious and has a pull out bed, too. The beds were uber comfy and the shower was nice and strong. Everything I needed to recover after a day of debauchery on south beach. Lol!! Now, breakfast was a joke (bread, meat and cheese) but I was too hungover to go down and eat. However I did enjoy the free mimosas!! Lol. I think they are working on a restaurant inside, but it's just not ready yet. Hopefully next time. It wasn't a deal breaker though. They also have coffee, tea, and water in the lobby all day. Valet parking is $35 a day, but just walk around the corner and park in the garage for $20 a day. You wont need your car anyway. You cant beat the location. We were in the middle of all the fun and walked everywhere. We even spotted a few celebrities. Staff was amazing they even gave my sister a free bottle of champagne to celebrate. If you check out the beach dont forget to get you beach towels and 2 beach chairs per room included in your stay. This was a great choice to stay here. I have to give a special shoutout to John at the front desk. He really too care of my group. I spoke with him throughout my planning process and he helped us when we arrived. He was a huge help and suuupppeerr cute. Lol. Please stay here. If someone is giving a bad review they are just whack. No reason to be mad at the Cavalier. I will definitely be back. Thank you again!!

Yelp
Okay hotel clean and hasAC which is all I needed. They offer two seats on the beach which is through estebans place free if you get no umbrella, 20 dollars if you want an umbrella. I would recommend looking for a place that offers food and a pool in case you don't want to walk around looking for a place to eat ...which there are many but it can get overwhelming...

Yelp
Horrible Hotel that takes advantage of the fact that it's location is on Ocean Drive. I have stayed in Ocean Drive before so I know the rooms can be compact but the amenities should make up for that right. Hell naw not this place. The bathroom had a rain shower head but no damn Rain. The shower inclosure was so small and the shower head was bigger than the shower. The breakfast was a complete joke by serving stale bread, budding lunch meat and left over scraps of fruit and this $25 (i.e resort fee). Stop playing with me. Did I mention they charged a deposit that was not disclosed during the reservation. Don't stay here try the Winter Haven instead much better and location is great too.

Yelp
First of all this 1930's Art Deco building is Located in the Art Deco District along the world-famous Ocean Drive. I stayed here one night in June 2013 with my teenage son and boyfriend. This is an old hotel so every detail I appreciate, the room was small but who cares we were barely in our room and we didn't even turn on the TV. The location is really what you pay for, there is a parking garage right around the corner (walking distance). What I found really cool was a fully functional 1930's elevator that still works! ***Bring ear plugs*** =)
