I first stayed at Hotel Cave Bianche over a decade ago and fell in love with its unique charm and character.
Returning recently, I was pleased to find that the hotel’s essential appeal remains - there’s still something magical about this place that captures the spirit of Favignana.
However, time has taken its toll on the property. While the bones of the hotel are still beautiful, signs of aging are evident throughout.
Most notably, the sun beds by the swimming pool look quite cheap and detract from what should be a relaxing poolside experience. Simple maintenance updates would make a world of difference.
The staff experience was notably mixed during our stay. The bar and breakfast teams were genuinely lovely - warm, welcoming, and attentive to our needs.
Unfortunately, the reception staff, while certainly professional and competent, lacked the warmth that would elevate the guest experience.
Given the current room rates, the price-quality ratio feels unbalanced.
This hotel has so much potential, and with some thoughtful attention to maintenance and staff training, it could easily return to its former glory. Improvements are becoming necessary to justify the premium pricing.
