Our stay at Cave Lodge was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredible—friendly, helpful, and always made us feel at home. One of the biggest highlights was the adventure caving tour. It ended up being far better than we expected, and our guide, Watt, was excellent. He was not only skilled and professional but also extremely knowledgeable about the local area, which made the experience even more enriching. In the evenings, the food served at the lodge was delicious—perfect after a long day of exploring. The entire layout of the lodge was also really well thought out, offering a comfortable and relaxed environment surrounded by nature. We highly recommend staying here and definitely suggest taking part in one of their caving adventures!

Beautiful lodge, located 5 minutes walking from the Nam Lod Cave. Rooms are very basic, but the common area is very cozy and the setting is amazing. They have 2 cute dogs. The restaurant serves great food. They have dishes from the local Shan cuisine. We did a kayaking and caving tour here which was interesting and lots of fun.

This guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! I came here without having a booking and there was plenty of space and I even got a bed in an empty dorm for only 150 baht. I spent hours outside in the hammock listening to the river non front the house and the chirping of the animals. The food is excellent and there are plenty of vegan options. And the staff is super helpful and kind! Huge recommendation.

Amazing place that has kept its old school charm. We intended to only stay one night, but ended up staying for four! They run all kinds of kayaking and caving tours around the region. We explored a beautiful cave with them-- it was a huge adventure which involved swimming, climbing and hiking about 3 km into a cave which the lodge's owner discovered. The guides were excellent and supportive. The cave was unbelievable and it was one of the best things I did in Thailand. They also run excellent kayaking trips. The lodge owner has lived in the region for about 40 years, and is extremely knowledgeable about local culture and geography. We took pictures of some maps he made of the local area and they helped guide us even after we left the lodge. Plan to stay a few days!

Amazing place to spend a few days surrounded by nature. Great service, really good food, cave trips (rafting, trekking) with experienced guides. Even though it's quite far from Chang Mai, it's worth it!

An amazing place in amazing country side. A great base to be able to go hiking, caving or kayaking from or to just relax at. Good food and always interesting people to meet. The owner John is always very friendly and helpful. I have been here four times over 25 years and it has not changed and I always love going back.

Escaped the hustle of the city to tick off a bucket list item to explore one of the most amazing caves in Thailand, why not kayak through too and make it an adventure. We spent a night in one of the cozy bungalows cave lodge has to offer The atmosphere here is great and the food and friendly staff are even better. Had an awesome time reading and hearing the history of this magical place.

We stumbled upon this resort simply by looking at Google Maps. Turned out to be one of our very most favorite destinations in Thailand. A rustic lodge with charming rooms in the jungle overlooking the river. A beautiful gathering area with a dining room and fantastic food and drinks. We were on a motorcycle tour of Northern Thailand and we rolled up, parked our bikes in a very nice and secure area and fell in love with this place. Not only were the accommodations perfect and unique, but the host was friendly and informative without being overbearing. We asked about activities and he gladly shared two of the best ones we were fortunate to experience. First was the evening return of the 300,000 birds to the cave along the river. About 5pm we walked from the lodge about 20 minutes to the mouth of cave and waited ... Right at dusk, hundreds of thousands of birds swooped into the cave to roost for the night. It was spectacular. The next day the lodge arranged inflatable kayaking down the river through the cave (which is huge and just unbelievable) to so rapids and several waterfalls which we went over! It was exhillerating, but not overly dangerous. It was quite thrilling to go over the falls! I really cant say enough good things about this place... You will love it. And definitely try the currys... We tried all three and shared... Also the Gin Tonics are lovely.... Truly a gem....
