"Feel the fury of Bridal Veil Falls at Cave of the Winds, a viewpoint within Niagara Falls State Park. Despite the moniker, there are no caves here anymore — there used to be a cave-like overhang, but it collapsed more than 100 years ago. Instead, there's a series of boardwalks and viewing platforms that bring you to the foot of the falls. You and your shoes will definitely get wet, so come prepared. Note that a timed-entry ticket should be purchased in advance of your arrival." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The Awe-Inspiring Spectacle "Niagara Falls is more than just a destination; it's an experience that overwhelms the senses and etches itself into your memory. From the moment you approach, the roar of the water becomes a palpable force, growing louder until you're standing before the colossal curtain of liquid power. The sheer volume of water cascading over the Horseshoe Falls is breathtaking – a mesmerizing ballet of mist, rainbows, and raw, untamed nature. Whether you take the Maid of the Mist and feel the spray on your face, or simply gaze from the various viewpoints, the scale and beauty are truly humbling. It's a reminder of the incredible forces that shape our world, and a must-see for anyone seeking to be genuinely awestruck."

Of course the experience of the falls is “great” and you can read reviews and look at my photos about that. But this is why there is 1 star. For 25 years, I have struggled with panic attacks. Claustrophobia is a huge deal for me. So taking a small elevator isn’t something I’m happy with. The lady up front was WONDERFUL and I asked if I would be able to ride with just my family. She said it wouldn’t be a problem. I didn’t think it would be an issue due to ADA and common decency. Going down was smooth. They accidentally put two others with us but I did fine and got super excited for the experience. It was wonderful down there. We returned to the tunnel. I spoke with the worker about my need to take the elevator in a small group. He proceeded to question me like “why did you even come down here?” I start to get embarrassed (sucks being a 40 year old terrified of elevators) and said “I’d climb up the wall if you let me.” You won’t believe his response, “oh is it bad to tell you about an hour and a half ago me and 11 guests got stuck?” And he laughed. I went into instant panic attack. I blackout and my daughter tries to calm me down and my wife tries to get him to shut up and stop talking. When the elevator arrives, we go on and the elevator operator questions why it’s just us. He explains and she begins to say “no we aren’t doing this.” And started getting hateful with us. Not sure what was said by my wife as I was trying not to scream but we began the ride up. Afterwards I found out stairs were an option but the guy said “well you wouldn’t like the stairs.” Seriously? Making decisions for me? When I go to Vegas I climb 20 flights to avoid elevators. I would gladly do the 8 stories here. I did speak with a manager who said they will be spoken too. I had to immediately return to the hotel to decompress and sleep it off. Because of that, my wife and daughter missed the maid of the mist boat and we all missed the observation deck because it was closed by the time I was able to recompose myself. This was the highlight of our 9 day road trip and these two people made us miss most of the activities.

Wonderful site. The roar of the Falls is amazing. Fun to climb all the platforms to get to Hurricane where the winds blow fiercely. A person really gets wet. Wear your plastic hooded raincoat from Maiden of the Mist. Fun!

If you didn't get ALL wet you indeed have never been here. Cave of the Winds is about 10 times more fun than standing in the boat. The area smells like a fish market, thanks to the seagulls. It's hard to describe in words, you have to come to feel it yourself. Prepare extra clothes and have fun!

Cave of the Winds is an absolute must-do! It doesn’t matter if you wear a poncho or a waterproof jacket—you will get soaked, and that’s the best part. The experience of standing right next to the thundering falls is incredible and exhilarating. I recommend doing this after the Maid of the Mist—and make sure to keep the poncho from the boat ride, as it’s thicker and much better than the one provided here. Go last if you can—you’ll 100% leave drenched but thrilled. Highly recommend!

I think the US did a great job. What Canada doesn't have is a park. The park is great to walk around and see the views. Sure you can't see the whole horseshoe and see the bottom but you can see the top and the bottom on a few parts of the falls. Their adding a new walking area to the right side of the park. It's beautiful and I would go again. Infact I wouldn't even make it so much of a big deal to go to the Canada side. However let it be noted the surrounding city is a dump.

If there were a list of the world’s natural wonders, Niagara Falls would easily rank in the top five. I didn’t just want to get wet, I wanted to be absolutely drenched and I left completely soaked and fully satisfied. Went on June 19th and even though it was public holiday, it was not crowded. We went around 6PM. In google maps it mentioned that this attraction was closed by 4 PM but it was not. Better check in visitor center. So many seagulls which was another scenery for this attraction. Well maintained and must see attraction if you go to Niagara Falls..

It's worth doing atlist once in everybody's life. Greatly manged all the points. Scenic trolley (1st stop near welcome center) is the best thing which really helps to cover all yhe points. Experience at the cave of the winds is completely awesome... yellow ponchos are actually for namesake..its too thin but still it's perfect... cause it will help you to get wet... and getting almost or completely wet will give the real experience of fall. If anybody don't want to get wet then better to carry the blue poncho which are getting at the Maid of the mist. If possible carry extra pair of clothes. Hurricane desk is real bliss to have the adventures experience under the water fall.
