Wonderful place to camp ❤️❤️ you can go to the river or walk around the campgrounds or walk across to a bigger water area and you can see the trout swimming and the blue herrings in the tree 😍❤️

I really love this place. The scenery is so beautiful. The Hosts are so nice, down-to-earth. Bathrooms were clean. Only issue I'd say there is quiet hour is at 10pm and some people are not considerate of the time or others. People are blasting their music, laughing so loud, practically yelling (talking so loudly). I get it, you're here to have a good time but please be considerate of others. People come to get away from busy lives and would like peace and quiet. Other than that, it's amazing.

The host is friendly and helpful. The toilet situation isn't the cutest but clean and you buy tokens from the host for the showers. Quiet time is 10 pm and I was shocked on how it seemed everyone shut down by 10:02 pm perfect to lay and watch the stars. The creek was a quick walk from our site and fun to hop from rock to rock and the water felt so refreshing. This was a last minute trip and was only able to reserve one night and the wonderful host asked us at check in if we were interested in staying another night and was placed on the waiting list . He confirmed the following day after check out we were able to snag another night at another site near by 😀. Will be returning with my family as this is one of the most beautiful, calming and friendly campgrounds we have been to.

Sheldon and his wife were amazing hosts! The customer service was honestly spectacular. They went above and beyond, answering all our questions and were very informative. The campsite was clean, had some beautiful sights close by, as well as hot showers (that were CLEAN)! The actual camp ground had beautiful trees greats for shade in the AZ heat, decent ground for the tents without a ton of rocks. The only issue a few skunks but keep your food locked up and you will be completely fine.

Stayed here for two nights on site A07, from Tuesday to Thursday. $26 per night - we stayed at Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon, which all cost us less than that. We were there with a 25 feet RV and found it pretty easy to get into our spot - however, other spots definitely looked trickier to get into, especially because of all the big trash-cans (is it really necessary to place 5 huge bins directly next to each other?) and stones on the side of the road. Staff is VERY kind and helpful and made us feel more than welcome. The location is good, you can reach Sedona within 30 minutes by car. There’s no store or anything in walking distance, though, and the store barely has anything to offer - so definitely buy some snacks and drinks before heading here. The campground itself is located in a very quiet area. However, our neighbours weren’t so quiet. A horribly loud generator was turned on until the very last minute they’re allowed to stay on. Turning on their car at like 6am because it’s a little bit colder.. How on earth are you not able to handle some lower temperatures in the morning and feel the need to heat up your car for like 30 minutes before driving off? - screw the environment, I guess? The restrooms are nothing more than pit-toilets, with no sink to wash your hands. However, they were fairly clean during our stay. The praise that the showers are getting from other reviewers is making me wonder - is there some other shower-facility that I don’t know about?! Seriously though.. $6 for an 8 minute shower, when most campgrounds (even the privately owned ones) charge no more than $3, is ridiculous. You can’t even choose the temperature; it’s either so hot that it almost burns you, or it’s way too cold. The old wooden-doors don‘t close properly and some of the locks are barely working. The shower’s weren’t that clean also, with hair in the drain and on the shower curtain - so why are you charging $6? All in all, it’s a pretty solid campground with very helpful staff. However, for $26 a night I was expecting just a little bit more, like proper toilets, cleaner shower facilities and a bigger selection at the store. If I ever get the chance to come back to Sedona, I‘ll be coming back here!

The campground is in the forest and very quiet. There was one big dog near my campsite. When it barked, the place knew it. Thankfully, no barking at night. |The shower was super . . . just don't expect to take a shower before 8AM and 7PM (prime showering times). It's closed until 8AM. That precludes a shower before day trips to the Grand Canyon, Jerome, and other places. We had to go dirty the 2nd day. Couldn't get back before 7PM, so we missed evening showers, too. |And, believe it or not, there are no lavatories, toilets, etc in the shower house. That was a first for me after 8 years of twice-per-year motorcycle tent camping. The shower house is simply a row of stalls with all stall entrances outside. Once you get in and realize the relieving oneself, brushing teeth, et al are not possible, the shower itself was really welcome. Water temperature isn't adjustable but it was perfect! I got clean in 8 minutes. Brushed my teeth while showering since there's no running water in the campground. ||Would I stay here again? Yes. I would research other campgrounds, but this one was perfectly adequate. ||

Google
They were not kidding about small spaces. The road is very narrow and the sites are small. But I saw a few big rigs and they were able to come in and out fine. If you are not good at parking, don't come here lol. I came on a 19 foot van and the road and site felt small to me and parking was a little bit difficult backing in. I can't imagine a truck towing a 19 feet RV. Stayed two nights in a van. We didn't use the shower so can't comment on that. The bathroom is just a wooden house with a seat on top of a big hole on the ground aka they are not running water toilets. The place is very quiet. We stay on a Sunday and Monday.

Google
I stopped here during a roadtrip and only used their hot showers and they’re great! You can purchase shower tokens at their shop. It costs $6 for 8 minutes. You’ll get 2 tokens, 4 minutes each. They have some snacks, ice, camping necessities; I bought some patches and they have great selection of stickers. There are parking spots available to use specifically for showering. The park rangers/workers are so nice and welcoming! The vibe is great! I’d love to come back and camp.

Yelp
Our first visit to Chattanooga was pretty fun - but the campers made all the difference. The people at Cave Springs Campground couldn't have been nicer. The value was okay but not great.

Yelp
Came here camping for my birthday and had a good time! We were a bit late in booking our campsite, so by the end of March, not much was open for May, but we did manage to get a campsite in the F zone from Sunday thru Tuesday. Campsite was pretty full and almost every campsite we passed had people staying. This campsite is one of the ones in northern Sedona and just due south of Pine Flats campground. Campsites all have potable drinking water available and compost toilets within walking distance. Great thing about this site is that Oak Creek runs right thru it, so you have easy access to the creek. Camp hosts were really nice and they would drive all around the different zones and offer firewood and shower tokens for sale. Campstore has many items you may have forgotten and some souvenirs to bring home (and ice cream). While staying here, campsite hosts told us about 3 blue heron nests that were close by and we spotted over 8 blue herons and many in their nests! We also got to see the resident black hawk too the day we were checking out! Cool!

Yelp
Mama's Retreat for One/Toddler incl for 1 Day...I picked up my Escape Campervan in Phoenix and headed up to Sedona for a much needed "Weekend Escape" in nature. I got up there early and headed to a couple campgrounds to try to find an available one for me and my 3 year old...came across this one. The entrance was gorgeous with a stream running through it and friendly staff. I got my name on the Waiting List that opens up at 10am, and expressed how important it was to be in a safe place. I got a spot that morning and got settled in with my little one. We walked all over the campground, exploring barefoot, and enjoying nature. The campers were all welcoming, the site was huge, and they have firewood for sale on site (you cannot collect wood on the grounds). They have showers, restrooms, and a well kept campground. My husband picked up our little one on Day 2 and I enjoyed the area sans one. I have to give a shout out to Anna & Korey along with Sheldon & Stephanie for making my stay so beautiful and allowing us to stay in this space, while offering the comforts if needed (snacks, drinks, fresh water for dishes, firewood, and maps). Big Thanks!!!

Natalie J.

Yelp
This is a larger campground and the spaces are very different sizes so choose wisely. The vault toilets in the bathroom area were super sketch I felt like the floor was going to break and someone might fall through at any minute. I liked that water spouts were available close to all the sites. I heard the showers were ridiculously hot so i didn't try them myself. Overall it was decent, but I won't be booking her again. There other places nearby I would like to try instead.

Yelp
A beautiful place for my Juliet and I. Beautiful green grass and trees. The weather was nice and the scenery is even better

Yelp
Let me start this off by saying I did not stay at this camp site. I took my family for a northern Arizona trip. We were traveling along state route 89A and we're looking for a pull off to take in the surrounding beauty and maybe take a little plunge into the Oak Creek, to cool off. We spent some time in the creek and then walked up the bank to what we found was a campground. Then we thought, there must be a a bathroom for some of the 7 of us to use... We walked the small road that weaved through the campsite, unbeknownst to us that it was closed down for construction- Mainly because the entrance was a half mile or more from where we pulled off from the 89. After checking two bathrooms that were locked, I went solo and wondered off toward a school bus and saw a woman cutting wood. Keep in mind there were no signs of the campsite or anything to tell me the I was at a campsite until we all found the bathrooms and a campsite nearby....So I yell out to this women from about 80 ft away, "Hello, I'm looking for a bathroom. Are any available?" With bad energy and a bunch of attitude, she says back to me," No! They're all closed because the campsite is closed!". I say," Ok, well we just wondered up from the creek via pull off on the side of 89." There was also this big beautiful black cat next to her, and just trying to be friendly and make small talk, I asked if it was a Norwegian forest cat. Again, with attitude, she responded, "NO, it's just a black cat. She must have been a caretaker, but she was very unprofessional and totally had a C U next Tuesday attitude. I have family that live in the region, and will be visiting a few times a year. I however will not be staying at this campsite. I don't want my family to be around or interact with anyone like her. And based on the other reviews of some of the staff, I think I'll go anywhere else but here.

Yelp
Beautiful and clean campsite! Pros: - Absolutely beautiful. - Oak Creek goes right through the camp so peaceful. - Cleanish bathrooms, composting toilets, no sink. - Hand sanitizer is provided by not always full. - Drinking water from the spout was clean and cold - HOT showers 8 minutes for $4. - There wasn't partying, mostly quiet campsite. - Dog Friendly, must be on leash at all times. Cons: - Found a bit of glass near the picnic table. - Heavy traffic, the staff ride golf carts around and go by every 5-10 minutes, can get annoying when trying to rest.

Yelp
This past weekend my family and I went camping at Cave Springs Campground. I had the worst experience with park ranger/restroom cleaner Mike that lives in a bus at the site. We unfortunately got the space next to this man and his school bus house. We got there Friday night, and we had no problems playing music with a handheld speaker till 10pm when the lights go out and that's because we found out he wasn't home or worked that day. Saturday night was a totally different story. Mike comes over about 7pm and tells us to turn the speaker down and he didn't like the music we were playing. We agreed with what he said and turned the (low power) speaker off completely. We used our phone to play music and he came over at 9pm and told us that this was the 3rd time he had come over and he was going to call the sheriff on us. We told him we would turn it off and my friend said when he was walking away "I can't believe you can hear it in that bus" and he goes all crazy on us and ask him to say it to his face and wanted to fight. He goes and tells us go back to were you came from. This was clearly racial and there was never a second time he had given us a warning. We had just started a campfire with the over price wood just to turn everything off. Not everyone is welcome there, especially if you play Latin music. Plus, this is not the 1st time this man has made it impossible for the family. He had my parents turn off the generator at 5pm when it was 98 degrees outside. He also made my parents move to another camp space after they had set up everything just to realize it was their camp in the first place with no apology. Please remove Mike as a ranger or you will be losing so much business from the LATINO community.

Yelp
We did not spend the night here as campers but drove by to see the scenery and the water. It seemed very well-kept and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The cave is blocked off but the meadow is very pretty and the campgrounds seem well-kept.

Kelly T.

Yelp
Great camp ground. Well maintained. Bathrooms were clean andthe camp site was clean and raked. The camp hosts take great care and there is a little side on site with firewood and some provisions. It's $20/ night witch is a great value. There is even a small creek and swimming hole right there, which is fabulous in the summer heat. It's a bit crowded for me, with not too much privacy between the sites. The creek brings in a lot of families (which is great if you like that kind of thing) and with slide rock state park being so close it can get very busy on the weekends. It's also very fine sand/ dirt in the camp sites, so prepare to get dirty!

Collette D.

Yelp
Cave Springs, what is there not to like about this campground? We enjoyed our 3 nights at the park. The hosts were very nice and knowledgeable. We booked in February to ensure the best spot (A15), but every spot is unique in its own way. We only intended on staying for 2 nights so we were not able to keep the same site. There is a whole process to get another night. But it went smoothly, we did have to cancel that day's plans to make sure we got another night. That's okay. We made other plans. I would recommend this place for camping, the $4.00 for showers at 8 minutes seemed like an eternity. The water was hot and the shower area was clean.

Tyler M.

Yelp
The people who work here obviously love their job, i wish i got her name but the lady who works in the little shop in the front was so friendly with my friend and i and told us all the things we needed to know and gave tips about stuff to do around the camp grounds. the camp sites are pretty close to one another and can get loud at night, but even the locals camping were nice to us to. would recommend.

Felix B.

Yelp
Awesome family fine and getaway. It is beautiful out there. Or just to go up during the week with significant other.

Mike T.

Yelp
Nice campground. Some sites are a little close to each other. Some are private so check google maps when booking. Stream is close. Not much noise from main hwy. Lots of trees so using solar panels for power requires manipulation during the day. Deep fire ring and picnic table at each site. Potable water throughout campground. Only a couple big rv sites. Overall nice campground. Oh yah, skunks patrol for for scraps so store food and scraps properly. Close to sedona. Good camping overall

Kathi B.

Yelp
Beautiful spot. Nice size campsites. Lots of trees and there is a trail that goes down to the creek and a decent swimming hole. The bathrooms were clean but only vault toilets. No sinks. There is drinking water but you are not allowed to fill up your rv with water there so we had to drive quite a ways to fill up our rig and no dump station either. We would stay there again now that we know these things. It would have been nice if this was posted on their website.

Stacey S.

Yelp
Pros: most of the sites are super nice. Very wooded and scenic. It's right on the creek and against red rocks so tons to do right in the campground. Really easy access's to Sedona for exploring. Super nice camp hosts. Cons: pit toilets waft the smell of poop into your campsite. It's not all the time depending on the wind but if your close it's pretty constant. There are tons is skunks running around at night. It's a little stressful

Rochelle L.

Yelp
I booked a creekside We booked a creekside campsite 5 months in advance for Labor Day weekend! The campground was absolutely stunning, clean and took excellent precautionary measures amidst the COVID-19 pandemic! Both firewood and ice were readily available for convenient purchase. Alan, Roe, and Shane were a joy to meet during our stay at Cave Springs! Shane provided excellent information when we asked for recommendations for good nearby trails! Alan and Roe were very knowledgeable regarding the geography and wildlife in which Cave Springs Campground is situated! We intend to return to this stunning and magical place many times in the future!

Sofia L.

Yelp
Great campground so many amenities. Perfect swimming hole nearby and hardly any noise.

Casey M.

Yelp
Everyone was so friendly, not just the staff but the guest as well! All pets that were there where no bother. My dog had a great time meeting new friends. We did see a skunk. So peaceful and clean! The day was warm and night and mornings were cold- went at the end of august

Amanda G.

Yelp
Very pretty well organized campground. The sites were clean, well organized, and very accommodating. Plenty of drinking water / restroom and trash areas that are well maintained. It was also nice that checkin time was 2:00 and checkout time was 1:00, so we had an entire day at the site. We were little disappointed at the limitations ... no climbing the mountain ... no moving the rocks ... no music (even before quiet hours). It is understandable to expect trash in and out / fire rules, but when we had to move our car due to one more rule (no listed on the sheet of them) it was a little much.

Jay F.

Yelp
Beautiful campground! scouted out prefect site a year before and bought six months in advance. we had a major problem with the staff. They made it a nightmare for us. we have never been treated so bad in our 30 years of tailgating camping. The staff made us park our third car outside of the campground even though there were plenty of spaces in the CLOSED shower parking. we paid $40 to park one car there in their "overflow parking" for four days. but when our third car came with my daughter and 4 kids ( one newborn and on 2 year old), we were all treated like crap. We kept being told that it is a federal regulation that there could only be two cars on the campsite but they couldn't produce anything in writing where this federal law was written, even after asking them to provide this law, they looked and could not find any proof of this law. we were forced to park on the street about a half mile from our campsite, when they took a shortcut across the river they all fell in the river. We were expecting to use the showers but they were CLOSED. there was no notification of the showers being closed on the website or the confirmation that was sent to us before our stay. We left early because we felt so un-welcomed. When I complained to the forest service staff about this, and they were very apologetic and offered to comp us on our next trip to the area. -Any of the staff that worked at this campsite in August of 2020 have no business being in the hospitality business. Shane and Ashely should be fired and never be allowed to work as a host they are a the worst of the worst staff ever! The campground is awesome! Hopefully the staff that was there in August of 2020 has moved on!

Ben G.

Yelp
Was a bit skeptical when we pulled up. Staff was perfect, very on top of this. Campground was clean, bathrooms were clean once they drained them. Of course you can only keep them as clean as the people using them. The creek, and pools were wonder and made a miserable hot day refreshing. Will camp her in the future and I highly recommend this camp.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Staff was super friendly. We went on week days and had a reserved site. Original site was A1 & A2. We moved to a non reservable site off the Main Street white was better for our motorhome E11 & E12 Traffic on A1/A2 was horrible but the staff was very helpful and moved us no problem. Kids loved riding bikes and taking the walking path out of the campground to the jumping cliffs. Water was refreshing on the 90/100 degree day Loved everything about this campground

Kodi B.

Yelp
This place is the worst. The lot sizes are about the size of a missies sedan. The fire pits are so high flames can't breathe to cook and the creek is blocked of for "safety". I will never recommend this place.

Jimmy D.

Yelp
Here's a quick video of our trip to Cave Springs Campground. I hope it gives you an idea of what it's like. https://youtu.be/NseoCfB36kU

Yelp
Loved loved camping here. We get there 6-10-2020 to 6-12-2020 and it was one amazing experience. I live in California but I heard about this place having a lot to do, which it does! Every time we go we fish there in a deep stream that's near by. We jump off of rocks into deep cool water. And better yet it's close to slide rock! So far I have only been to this campground in Arizona and I actually liked it a lot! We took our kids and other family members being a total around 10 to 11 people. Staff there is actually real nice. The old dude riding around with his dog on the Kart is the s*** lol he's pretty cool. Another good thing about it is that we were told to quite down cause it was already past 10p.m and she was pretty cool with it she just told us "I'm sorry but I just had to come out and quit down the place a bit . And we were all cool and complient about it . The only thing wrong about this is that they need a bigger entrance!

Asia H.

Yelp
Called a few weeks in advance to check on how busy the campground gets midweek, spoke to a young man from Florida on the phone who works at the site and he said we shouldn't have any trouble getting a site if we arrived before check in/check out midweek which is at 1 pm. So when we pull up a few weeks later at 12:58 pm, we were shocked to have an older fellow tell us that they keep a WAITING LIST on the first come-first serve sites from about 6am in the morning. We thought he was joking. #1 we were not informed about that policy whatsoever by the younger employee we spoke to on the phone and #2 it totally defeats the purpose of first come first serve. It was the most ridiculous thing I have heard of in my life and pretty sure they're not even supposed to be doing it that way, because when we went up the road to find a different campground the hosts there sounded shocked at what we had told them about the waiting list. We had no trouble finding a campsite there because they were running it fairly and let us drive through and find our site like a proper check in/check out procedure is supposed to go. Don't waste your time at this crookedly run campground unless you have reservations far in advance.

Balsz T.

Yelp
This is an amazing campground just north of Sedona. The camp host are really cool and helpful, they keep the campgrounds and bathrooms incredibly clean. There is a pathway to the creek with swimming holes. Lots of shade at most of the campsites and just a mile down the 89 there is a awesome hiking trail(west fork). Great place to camp and a short drive into Sedona..highly recommended

Ariana M.

Yelp
Our campground was fabulous, me and my husband are newlyweds and don't camp much but wanted to try something new. Make sure you bring cash for required wood logs to burn and for your camp spot. I suggest taking a picture of the available site board so you don't have to drive back and forth, as some people don't cross out the spot when they select theirs. The rangers informed us that the 2 nearby trials are long and/or difficult so we didn't attempt them. The river is VERY close to the freeway and cars frequently pull over to enjoy the water. I find this a little unfair as we had to pay to enter the campground and they give themselves access for free. The restrooms were absolutely unusable in my opinion, as they were nothing more then holes in the ground like the Middle Ages. Not much privacy the sites are pretty small, the only thing separating our tent from our camp neighbors was the driveway for their car. There were no bugs with was a big plus. Overall a good experience to refresh and recharge

Chaz V.

Yelp
We stayed here 5/29-6/1 and absolutely loved it & will come back again. The campground is shaded, which is nice during the day when it's high 90s. The campground itself was very clean, the showers weren't open but the bathrooms were clean and didn't smell. The camp hosts drove the area multiple times a day, specifically checking the bathrooms. They have quiet time 10pm to 6am and surprisingly everyone was very respectful of those hours. The best part the creek access that comes with your camp stay. Perfect activity for our two year old son.

Gina B.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was a kid, of course now it seems much smaller than it did then. The spots are all descent with a small walk to the creek, showers, and bathrooms. Unfortunately there were no fires allowed this time around which kind of put a damper on the camping experience but we still made s'mores on a propane grill lol... gotta keep the kids happy. The campground was very mellow, and bathrooms were well stocked and kept up. My only complaint is the spot we had, was full of weeds, I know your outdoors and camping but being that they keep the area up it would be cool if that you was as well. But I'll continue to come out here because it's so beautiful and within walking distance.

Emily K.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. But having read through the other reviews I am sad to say I also experienced the over use of rules and unpleasant behavior from the manager on the golf cart. Additionally the smell from the restrooms permeated the entire time which was pretty off-putting. The creek is lovely. Setting is beautiful although no cellphone coverage at all. First I should say I am a lifelong camper and fully respectful of national forest, driving slow, being discrete and just being at one with nature and my kid when in the outdoors. I don't even want or need music or anything else. However despite this and not being on the site very much over our two night stay, I still came short of what was required by the 'management'. Putting it all together; As soon as you arrive you're asked to read the rules, there and then in Situ. I didn't find this very welcoming. Then, well, on the morning of departure; firstly the guy on the golf cart hovered, and stared and hovered some more around my pitch from six am in the morning (I had the right to the pitch til 1pm, let's remember). I didn't like being watched doing my morning routine whilst in my night clothes and felt very uncomfortable. As if to remind me that I had to go that day (I hadn't forgotten) they ripped off my name from the pitch at around 6am. Well sorry guys but I have it til 1pm. Why do that? Basically imagine if you're in a hotel and there's someone from 6am in the morning giving you direct and indirect signs you need to leave, although you don't have to leave yet. It's horrible. I go camping precisely to avoid this stuff. Then I leave, and whilst it's not clearly signed at all, apparently the campground 'has one lane' and I was driving at 2mph on the wrong lane to exit the site (early). Rather than just say goodbye, and put me in the right direction, this hovering, staring guy on the golf cart drove at high speed right at me, and then told me rudely I was going the wrong way. And was I checking out? It's all about how you feel when you leave a place as well as what happens when you're there. I wouldn't go back precisely for the way I was made to feel, nor would I recommend to other normal, respectful campers who just want to be peaceful. There are other sites (that don't smell) who will accommodate you, and trust that you won't somehow mess up. For all the rules, I should also add that I find it ironic that the hosts' RVs are all lit up like Christmas trees throughout the night; which is fairly at odds with peace and just being with nature. One rule for the paying customers, one rule for the staff, right!? Hmmm. Not impressed I'm afraid. I would chose another option if you have the choice.

Joe M.

Yelp
Caaaaaaaaaaave Spring. Wow. What a spot. Probably one of the most beautiful camp sites I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Our two night stay was slightly marred by the rain, but we made the most of it. The bench at the site was made of concrete, not wood like most, which I'm assuming is friendlier to the likes of children who won't be reading the carvings of "who was there" and "for a good time call...". The fire pit was not only awesomely taken care of, but functional with the grill on a swivel. Scenery is great. Surrounded by high rising rock pillars and mountains. I highly recommend this place to anyone between Flagstaff and Sedona.

Cindy M.

Yelp
Hot showers, several sites are walk up. Friendly, helpful staff are always working hard. Facilities are well kept. Only issue is it is right on highway. Liked A11 site, secluded with path to creek, again, only issue is highway is across creek.

Lena F.

Yelp
Lots of children and an all-right location! About 30-40 minutes from Sedona. Flat and lots of trees. Nicely wooded area. We couldn't see the creek from our space but it was pretty still. Lots of well-maintained bathrooms. GREAT hot showers that last 8 minutes for about $4. That's just the perfect amount of time!

Mandy A.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, I truly did. But in the end, it was terrible. Just as most of the reviews state that I initially ignored. I get it now. It took us 45 mins just to get past the "registration office" because the man checking everyone in had no sense of urgency, and got easily distracted by things going on around him. We were only the 3rd car in line. This was after our 3 hour drive up there as well. That was just the start. He made us read a set of very strict rules before we were allowed to enter. We were threatened with fines, cars being towed before we even crossed the threshold. Not welcoming in the slightest. We got to our reserved space and let me tell you that it looks nothing like the site photos online. The campground is over crowded, too closely spaced with no privacy at all. We were 5 ft or less from our neighbors to each side. So when it was "quiet hours", you heard every cough, sneeze, hack, dog bark, snore, generator etc. Ear plugs didn't even save us. The showers were closed because of Covid, understandable. The bathrooms however were horrendous. Urine and feces covered the floors and walls. We cut down our food and water intake just to limit the times we had to enter them. The smell permeated the entire area, so when you were eating, walking or lounging, you smelled the god awful scents of the vault toilets. We couldn't go In there without wanting to vomit. There wasn't a single second of relaxation during our 3 days there. The only nice thing was the easy access to the creek. Other than that, we couldn't wait to leave and ended up doing so, early. Would not recommend staying here. There are several other campgrounds in the area that are so much nicer. Lesson learned.

Yelp
Amazing campgrounds and extremely beautiful. This campground is very clean and maintained very well. The bathrooms could use a little work, but what do you expect? The staff at the check in booth are extremely courteous as well, offering lots of info about activities in the area.

Yelp
When we first showed up, the friendly woman ranger spoke to us about getting a "reservation" later in the day if we showed up at 12 noon. She also said we were unlikely to get into any other campsites near Sedona because of how small the rest of them are and how busy the area was. When we returned, our "chosen by them and with no consideration to us" spot was C9. On the map it looked great, not by any other campsites and with a water spigot close by. We picked up trash at our site for 10-15 minutes until we felt it looked nicer, and there was a stone table, fire pit, and a few trees around, but in a mostly barren and higher on the hill spot. It was only a few minutes before we noticed the stench of the outhouse. We were disgusted by the smell of it wafting up from below every few minutes. A truck even came to pump the outhouse while we were there, making the smell worse during and after the whole operation. We paid for two nights and only spent one. We were glad to be rid of the place. We also noticed the "Campground FULL" sign was up at Cave Springs during our entire stay in the area. In reality, only 60%-70% of the sites were full. We would have loved to drive or walk around the campsite first to check out which one we wanted, but they choose for you and there's no getting around it. No requesting spots, no changes after they choose a spot for you, and no refunds. The folks up at the front desk site are extremely nice and extremely slow. We thought the prices were expensive for everything as well. $18 a night for one spot and one car, $7 for a bundle of wood with 4-5 chopped pieces in it, and $4 per person per showers. We didn't use any of the services because we planned to be dirty, but they did have a store with fishing gear, drinks, ice creams and Popsicle, a few baking goods, and a few candies. If you're going to stay here, definitely stay in LOOP A or LOOP F. Loop A is reserve-only sites, and they're closest to the river. Loop F is also close but first-come first-serve. I reccomend to only stay in these two loops if you're going to Cave Springs. Good luck!

Yelp
Really nice campground. Great for kids riding bikes around !hot showers that were long enough and felt wonderful! Fishing nearby, but low amount of water on the creek this time of year. Still picturesque will go back again. Staff was nice, friendly helpful, we wanted to move the the next campsite over, it was no problem.

Yelp
If you find yourself driving on HWY 89A without campground reservations don't be hasty and pick the first one you come to with open sites. Drive a little further until you reach Cave Springs. I almost made the mistake of doing just that. We would have been in a site smaller than my garage and driveway with our neighbor less than five feet away. When we pulled into Cave Spring we couldn't believe it was over 75% empty. There is a little store with various and sundry items priced way lower than you would expect. You can also get ice and firewood. There are even showers available which are coin operated. Only of a handful of the sites, right along the creek, are site specific reservations. All others are assigned by the host or upon arrival. The sites here are large and have a table and firepit. The creek separates you from the road so the sound of cars was slightly muffled and not too bad. The bathrooms are all pit but very clean and didn't reek...except for just this one. Also, this place is very quiet at night and we didn't encounter anyone who was louder than we were. I think everyone here is tired from the days adventure up the road a bit at Slide Rock. Be sure to bring your pets but do keep them on a leash and out of those lush berry bushes. There are skunks here. Not just one or two but a whole surfeit. One tried to get Maggie but missed and sprayed the FJ. The next night Maggie wasn't so lucky and took it right in the face. Ohhhhh....what fresh hell did we fall into? I'd rather worry about Yogi and Boo Boo stealing my ice chest than have Pepe Le Pew paying a night time visit! So pack the dawn dish washing liquid and some hydrogen peroxide and head up to Skunkville....I mean Cave Springs!

Yelp
Best campground in the area - hands down. They have a little walking path where the kids can get a little wet and jump off the rocks too!

Yelp
Gorgeous place to camp. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We'll be back to camp if in the area again.

Yelp
Really felt dirty and unwelcome at this campsite. Nobody around to tell you where everything is. There were controlled fires in the area so campgrounds were smokey. Nobody gets warned as there are all types of people breathing in heavy smoke. I was completely unsure what was going on until I got up and left the campsite in the wee hours because I was feeling like beef jerky and felt ill. Then what I thought was late night fog turned out to be a fire as I drove through plumes of smoke. It all made sense that smoke was dropping into the canyon. People were lighting campfires and I thought wow these are some potent campfires. I looked up and could barely see the stars from all of the smoke. No one was warned about this health hazard. Nevertheless, it was noisy and crowded. Lack of concern for others and heavily touristed areas make me want to stay away.

Yelp
The hosts give such fast and sharp instructions on where to go it was easy to get lost, I saw lots of people getting lost and they would stop and ask me where to go. The big map is inside the park where you really might not see it as I only saw it on my forth day? The hosts become stiff when you tell them you have dogs... didn't exactly feel welcomed. I tired to exchange a shirt I Clearly bought there, as it says Cave Springs and she need a recite, I wanted to spend another ten dollars but hey no recite. So no hat that I really wanted after spending close to 200 dollars there total. People go to places like this to get away from stuffy corporatism. It is also disappointing how bad the bathrooms smell across the entire site. But, with all that I am glad it was there and beautiful. I would stay there again.

Yelp
We booked a campsite here for the second week in October. The campground was fairly empty, as I believe they close down some of the loops in the fall. We stayed in Loop A. The experience was just OK. I've had better experiences with the campgrounds run by the National Park Service than the National Forest Service, and I would question staying at another one. As many other reviews have mentioned, I found the camp staff to be kind of weird and rude. There was only one lady at the front desk who seemed nice. However, if you read the campground rules and actually abide by them there shouldn't be a problem. We didn't have any problems while there. The campground itself is very pretty- woodsy, has a creek, and the campsites are spaced out. But in my opinion, it's in the details where the problems begin. My biggest issue- the bathrooms. Ick. They are composting toilets, and smell horrible. When the wind shifted in our direction we had to hold our noses. I would have rather peed in the woods than gone into one. It was this way for the entire 3 days we were there. Like they weren't composting correctly. I also never saw anyone clean them. Every morning one of the camp hosts came around and replaced the toilet paper, but no cleaning. It became especially gross when someone literally desecrated one of the toilets and it remained like that until we left. Seriously, they couldn't even hose it out? The showers were okay. Fairly decent for a rustic campground as they were lined with linoleum flooring and had FRP walls. Minimal insects (but it was October). In my opinion, $4 is WAY too much for an 8 minute shower. When we stayed at Yosemite, Housekeeping Camp was $5 for unlimited time AND they gave you a fresh towel. In addition, there's only one shower building and it's quite a walk from some of the campsites. I don't recommend their firewood. It's damp and doesn't burn. Save yourself the trouble and buy a bundle elsewhere, but DO NOT scavenge firewood. You WILL get in trouble. The grate on our fire pit was also too high to grill on. Our burgers barely cooked and we had to finish them on our camp stove. Also note that there are NO sinks. Not in the nasty bathrooms, and not outside. The only water is from a spigot and you are not allowed to wash hands, dishes, etc. Expect the bare minimum when you come here. Bring your hand sanitizer and a gas mask for the bathrooms.

Yelp
Not child friendly. Rangers vey rude harassed us the whole time we were there. Left early. Camped with friends but rangers said to stay in our own area. Explained to them we're camping together. Still harassed us. No radios anytime, lights out in the tent by 10pm or rangers will be there telling you its quiet time no talking.

Yelp
If you're going to go, arrive early (0700) to wait in line to get a "walk up" spot. There is a sign that says "Do not park on the side of the road". You'll see cars parked there waiting to pay, even though the sign says "don't park here". I didn't want to break the rules so I drove ahead and parked inside, about 100 feet away from the gate. I let my kids and dogs out to go to picnic area. I walked up and met two men that said they would say I was the seventh car that arrived, so we waited. At about 0740, an older gentleman told another camper that I wasn't getting a spot because I didn't park my car in the line. That camper thankfully told me and I asked him "who said that?"; he pointed at this old man who was laughing at me. He was Host #1 and I asked him about the sign and that I had two witnesses there. He said "I've had people try to bribe me and if you're not in that line, you are not getting a spot". I then said "I'm not trying to bribe you, you have a sign that says not to park there". He then pointed out the small printed paper that was being blocked by the first car in line that stated "park here and wait". I thought he was joking... He wasn't and wasn't nice either. So I moved my car, now being thirteenth in line. I finally got to the front after the other twelve cars had their name written down, backed out and left. Gave my name and was ready to go, but drove forward to the picnic area to grab my kids. This is when I met the Host #2 who screamed at me. When I say screamed, I mean screamed at me to "stop". I did this, rolled down my window and he said "where do you think you're going? You need to leave!" I then said "I just need to pick up my kids". He said "Well where are your kids?", I pointed and said I was leaving as soon as I loaded them up, received a dirty look and he walked off. So, I won't let it ruin my day I think, we go into Sedona and get some breakfast. Returned at noon like I was suppose to, got my truck and camp site tickets. My friend met us up there and she said she drove right through. No one stopped her and she needs her ticket too. While she unpacked, I took her daughter and we went to collect fire wood off camp because they sell about 4-5 small logs for $7! Returned and told the front gate, my friend had arrived and asked if we could have her truck ticket. I was told she needed to come up herself. When I got back my friend said that the guy who had screamed at me, had come by three times to harass her about her truck sticker with in the hour. Not wanting to leave the kids alone, she told him she would as soon as she could. When she arrived at the office, they handed it right over. No license plate info, no proof, nothing saying where she was... Why again couldn't I have saved her a trip? Later my friend goes to the bathroom with her ten pound dog. She is holding him and he has a leash, screaming guy also has a small dog that sits on the seat next to him in the golf cart- no leash. He then yells at her "where's your leash?" It was on the dog, she showed him and he sped off. Yikes! Next day, we are burning a log greater then 24 inches, it hung out of the pit and we were going to break it down as it burned. Screaming guy drives by in his golf cart, to once again, you guessed it-scream. I explained the situation and he said "you can't chop any of the wood here". I said we didn't, we collected it yesterday and he could even look at the back of my truck. He insisted we pull the log out so he could pour water on it. I thought, well okay, weird but okay. He then poured water and called for another guy to come out; guess who? Weird old guy from the gate who thought I wanted to bribe him. They loaded up my log to take it. I asked "what are you doing?" They said "we are taking this, you can't have it and have to buy the wood we sell". I said "You're monopolizing the wood at a National Park?" They said "yup! And this is my name if you want to complain" I said "I understand I broke the rules but where does it say you take our wood away?" They both then said "it doesn't, it's implied!" I couldn't believe this and asked for the paper with the rules. The old weird guy handed it over and then said "you must be smoking weed". First, accusing me of using drugs in front of my kids makes you a jerk. Second the paper they handed me did not say they could take the wood. I went to their manger about the harassment. The manager put a stop to them harassing us for our last night BUT screaming guy drove by slowly to stare at us a few more times. The manager also informed us we could get wood from anywhere, not just them. As soon as we woke up, we packed and left. Creepy and rude hosts. As females with kids, we were uncomfortable. Not worth it!
