Arrived on a busy Friday night on Burns'Week. The place was full and we hadn't made a reservation. The staff was unflappable! We were told it would be 30 minutes for a table to dine at, but in just a couple of minutes were escorted kindly to a small table at the bar area to enjoy drinks and given menus to place our food order while we waited for a dining table to open. The drinks menu was exceptionally good! Although, I have to admit, I would have liked to see some Scotch Ales/Wee Heavy beers at a bar in Scotland!
Our table was ready before expected, and the food arrived within a few minutes. We had the haggis, neeps and tatties, a steak and ale pie, and a lasagna. All were superbly done! The haggis came with a side of whiskey and cream sauce which enhanced the flavor greatly - especially the neeps!
I cannot stress enough how friendly and helpful each member of the staff here was! From the bar, to the servers, to the maitre d, to the hostess and even the young lady acting as a bus person obviously in her first job. This place was packed and they all handled it with grace and kindness. Absolutely stellar!
