Last night a group of us were strolling on Granville Street pretty late and wanted a place to grab drinks. This place seemed decent, so we approached the entrance. There were two hostesses at the door. I asked for a table for 6, and waited. One blonde waitress completely ignored us and continued staring at some action on the street with cops and whatnot. She did not even turn her face to look at us. The second hostess acknowledged us, tried to ask blonde hostess about a table, and got ignored as well. So she ran inside to check for a table, and came back to take us in.
We sat down near the back and it was an okay atmosphere. I could not figure out if it was a bar or restaurant or what vibe it was. Kind of a random vibe. The table we sat at was dirty, no one wiped it down for us. But I didn't care too much, I just wanted to chill with my friends. The blonde hostess came to take our drinks order. I ordered an Earl Grey Gin martini, and others in the group ordered beer, old fashioned, etc etc.
Later when the drinks came, this blonde waitress/hostess went to one corner of the table and sat all the drinks down in one corner. Not in front of each of us. I figured she was too lazy to do her job, so I started passing the respective drinks to my friends. I asked her "which one is that?" pointing to a tall beer glass. She just shrugged at me, rolled her eyes and literally said: "I don't know which is which".
Then she strutted off.
Wow. Maybe she needs to look for another job, because last time I checked, a waitress doesn't just bring food/drink orders to a table and casually say "I don't know which is which". I looked at my friend who was also surprised by this waitress's nonchalance.
Anyway, too bad for Cavo, because this lady left a shitty impression in my mind.
My earl grey gin martini was really tasty though! I very much enjoyed it. Thats what the 2 stars are for.
