Cawdor

A fantastic stay at the Cawdor Hotel in Llandeilo as a solo business traveller. My bedroom was spotless, comfortable, and well presented, with a great bathroom that felt modern and well maintained. Parking was easy and secure, which was very convenient when travelling for work. For EV drivers, there is a single Tesla charger available on site – £10 for five hours or £20 overnight. It is a 50% current limited slower 3kW charger, but very handy to have. Overall, an excellent hotel with great facilities and a very welcoming atmosphere. I would happily stay again.

Sutuated in the lovely historical Welsh town of Llandeilo, with magnificent views of the River Towy. One of our favourite places to visit in Wales.||The hotel is quaint, warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Bridal suite on the top floor as The Cawdor kindly offer it free to couples who got married with them on their first wedding anniversary. The room was huge, luxurious, homely and spotlessly clean with all the amenities you could need. Word of warning - there are lots of stairs to get to the top but we didn't mind as it helped to work off the calories that we managed to eat!||Speaking of food...wow! Never disappoints. They also did our wedding breakfast last year, and all our guests could not speak highly enough of it. We were not disappointed then, and certainly weren't this time either. I love the fact that they seem to try to source local produce too.| |Staff are very friendly and hard working and add to the Welsh welcome!

The food in this hotel is fabulous. Staff are so friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are lacking anything special. The mattress in our room was tired and sloping, the feather pillows gave no support and became instantly flat. In arrival we had no tea, coffee, milk (to be fair it was sorted out quickly), no fridge in the room. We were on the second floor, it was constantly hot and stuffy but being a listed building, with the original sash style windows, you can't open them more than a couple of inches. There was only one chair to sit on, which meant one of us had to sit on the bed. The bathrooms had been updated and were modern. |Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and we had a meal on the first night which was delicious. |Overall, its a great hotel but needs some attention and updating to the rooms.

We live here 6 hours away and we have come back here twice because we were so impressed with the food. We first discovered this restaurant when we were staying in a nearby cabin. We ate the mussels and cottage pie, to start with drinks we also had the cheese and meat platter, we were so impressed, hadn’t tasted mussels as good as these before. We then had another trip to wales booked 7 months later, and travelled an hour to come back here. We ordered the same again and were truly impressed again! Hidden gem - wish it was closer to us.

Absolutely superb hotel. Staff are really friendly, very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are really well kept and clean with everything you’ll need. The food also matched the high standard of the hotel. Definitely would stay again

Lovely welcome from friendly staff. The food, was superb and you certainly won't leave the table hungry. It's all dressed for Christmas and looking very festive. Would definitely recommend and we will be back (we'll share a bar snack next time).

We had a great stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is a very high standard. The breakfast was very good and for dinner we had a fish cake, burger and shepherds pie all of which were really tasty and used local ingredients. The lady serving in the restaurant was excellent. The only drawback is noisy rooms on the front of the hotel, due to traffic.

Also our room had connecting door to next room so could hear everything . Despite that it was great value for money and very cosy with am|Amazing shower !

This is a lovely little hideaway in west wales. The building has lots of character, the decor is discrete but opulent. The staff are lovely and friendly an the do is very good. I have now stayed here three times and never been disappointed. The rooms feature Melin Tregwynt furnishings and come with Moulton Brown washing lotions and potions. The bar has a fabulous range of good wines and spirits as well as craft ales. The restaurant knocks out some really tasty food. Breakfast is good quality fayre. A recent addition is the vodka bar and cafe. A good range of potions, tastefully served. Do visit this place. You won't be disappointed.

What a lovely place in Wales, Llandeilo must be jolly to have such a hotel. We only used the pub like small restaurant as well as the great restaurant. Amazing food, good booze and unbeatable prices if you come straight out of London. Friendly and attentive staff, pugged and hammered after. This I call a holidays!

We have stayed at the Cawdor for our wedding anniversary. We had the Dinefwr Suite which is one of the two nicest rooms in the hotel. The room was out of this world and just beautiful but the climb up the stairs was a bit much for a pregnant woman! We ate in the restaurant the night we stayed there and the food was delicious. We have been back for an afternoon tea on many occasions. The afternoon teas are huge and brilliant value for money. My only complaint would be that the lounge is often dirty as the waiters do not clean the tables after each customer.

We ate here recently for a family birthday and it was lovely. owned by the same people that run the Morgans Hotel in Swansea, they have made an effort to make this stylish and relaxed. The food was very good, although the menu is a little stuffy for lunch, we all came away contented and rubbing our stuffed bellies. The wine list was good and the bar where you wait had nice photography all around it which looked cool. Service was excellent. We had a waitress from the local area who was very chatty and entertaining. Parking is a problem in the whole area and this place is no exception so it's better to get a taxi at night. Likewise disabled access or buggy access is not great.

I really enjoyed my meal at the Cawdor. I was half expecting one of those tiny, underwhelming hotel meals but was blown away by the delicious & very filling chicken dish that I ordered. It was tasty & cooked to perfection. The service was excellent & swift. The only downside to this hotel is the decor & lighting are rubbish!! especially the lighting...but it would not stand in the way of another visit. I was so impressed, I spent many days trying to find an excuse to go back again. Not bad value for money either. Bon appetit!
