We had a family meal last night in the restaurant and we all had the Christmas menu. The goats cheese and beetroot tart had sweet cheese (not goaty). Beautiful soft beef and large yorkies, large portion of sea bass and a delicious nut roast. Perfect mixed veggies. The strawberry trifle was delicious and a very good size. My only criticism was that I could have eaten a larger piece of nut roast. This is a restaurant where you can dress up or go in jeans and be comfortable, but there is a generation that does like to dress up to eat here, and it suits the atmosphere. You have to book. This restaurant is always busy when we go and is a lively place. Not a quiet corner hidden away. We had a table booked for 7.15pm and arrived at 6.45pm and the whole place was already buzzing so we asked to be seated at our table early so we could get a seat, and they obliged. Thank you again for a lovely family meal.

We had a two night stay with family members so a good few rooms booked. The bridal suite, right at the very top, was fantastic! Totally dreamy.|My room (at the bottom of stairs of bridal suite) was lovely but a bit dark and not as nice as the others. Got to say, the others were fab!|We booked dinner the night before wedding, just lovely! Food and service wonderful. The staff, especially the two ladies that spent so much time making our stay the absolute best, yet I can’t rember their names! Sorry! They oversaw everything, especially the lovely lady that organised the wedding tables and food, she was wonderful. |As for the wedding, we went to the beautiful Chapel a couple of doors away, such an intimate place. |Back to hotel for canapés, drinks, then sat down to the best food at a wedding I’ve ever had. So much food! Absolutely boiling hot and super tasty. Then the evening food, was such a tasty touch.|Would recommend this place for a weekend away and obviously a wedding! |The hotel is listed, so no lifts, it’s a bit hard going, there is one ground floor room but out of hotel, in the courtyard, so not great for disabled or elderly but we managed, it is doable but the chapel has steps if you’re thinking wedding. Would I return? Absolutely!

Friendly staff to meet us, but a disappointing room. No hooks to hang wet winter coats, 6 coat hangers with no drawer space. Very warm room so turned radiator off and opened window, only to have cooking smells from the kitchen. First night of our stay managed to get a table in the bar when there was a lull between afternoon and evening parties, standing room in lounge and foyer, long queues at the bar, no real ale being served over festive period. The second night of our stay failed to get a seat anywhere. We had been asked if we wished to reserve a table in the restaurant but declined. Came downstairs for for a drink Christmas night a few people sitting on the sofas no atmosphere at all, had a very nice cheese board a couple of drinks and retired early to our room for a third night. Our room was not serviced at all. The first day we returned at 1 pm the landing was full of laundry bags, waste bags, mop and bucket with dirty water. We tidied our room, then had knock on door at 2.20 did we need room serviced? Same thing on Christmas morning returned to room at 11, knock on door at 11.50. The food was very good even though portions were challenging and the cauliflower cheese with Christmas lunch was in edible as could not put a fork in it. We appreciate that this time of year is very busy and many people return here for Christmas year on year, however for us it was not an experience we wish to repeat.

This hotel offers you a very friendly stay with staff that are always happy to help. My new firm favourite to stay is the one bedroom apartment…… I will definitely be back!!! …….. I am more than happy to move in on a permanent basis…. Food is also delicious and with many beautiful independent high quality shops to stroll around…. Even a short stay feels like a treat ❤️

The hotel was nice, quirky and ok for what we needed, whilst in Llandeilo for a wedding. The food was very good and the staff were all happy and helpful. The bedroom we had was small and compact and a few adjustments like a shelf in the bathroom to hold toilet bags would have helped, along with somewhere to place your suitcase. All in all a nice stay and we would use again. Not really suitable for disabled or frail people as no lift and the steps down from the car park is challenging.

The rooms are comfortable and warm. it's a lovely and welcoming hotel. The lounge area is warm and comfortable with an open fire to relax by. Food is always delicious. We had dinner in the dining room which was lovely. The staff are so friendly, helpful and pleasant.

You can’t get much more wow factor than the Dinefwr suite at the Cawdor: a huge loft suite with original beams, beautifully decorated, several seating areas and a fantastic bathroom with double shower and spacious bath. The photos on the website just don’t do it justice. And as an extra treat we had our own Xmas tree too. There are lots of stairs as this is in the attic space so wouldn’t suit everyone. |Christmas lunch was excellent, though far too much food for us.|The staff in the restaurant, bar and reception were excellent. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and so helpful even though it must be one of the most stressful days of the year for them. Diolch pawb.

Great welcome on arrival and a very personal experience. Great room, was more a suite with a large bedroom and bathroom. Dinner was excellent with brilliant service and nothing was too much. The staff overall were amazing. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
This is a lovely little hideaway in west wales. The building has lots of character, the decor is discrete but opulent. The staff are lovely and friendly an the do is very good. I have now stayed here three times and never been disappointed. The rooms feature Melin Tregwynt furnishings and come with Moulton Brown washing lotions and potions. The bar has a fabulous range of good wines and spirits as well as craft ales. The restaurant knocks out some really tasty food. Breakfast is good quality fayre. A recent addition is the vodka bar and cafe. A good range of potions, tastefully served. Do visit this place. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a lovely place in Wales, Llandeilo must be jolly to have such a hotel. We only used the pub like small restaurant as well as the great restaurant. Amazing food, good booze and unbeatable prices if you come straight out of London. Friendly and attentive staff, pugged and hammered after. This I call a holidays!

Yelp
We have stayed at the Cawdor for our wedding anniversary. We had the Dinefwr Suite which is one of the two nicest rooms in the hotel. The room was out of this world and just beautiful but the climb up the stairs was a bit much for a pregnant woman! We ate in the restaurant the night we stayed there and the food was delicious. We have been back for an afternoon tea on many occasions. The afternoon teas are huge and brilliant value for money. My only complaint would be that the lounge is often dirty as the waiters do not clean the tables after each customer.

Yelp
We ate here recently for a family birthday and it was lovely. owned by the same people that run the Morgans Hotel in Swansea, they have made an effort to make this stylish and relaxed. The food was very good, although the menu is a little stuffy for lunch, we all came away contented and rubbing our stuffed bellies. The wine list was good and the bar where you wait had nice photography all around it which looked cool. Service was excellent. We had a waitress from the local area who was very chatty and entertaining. Parking is a problem in the whole area and this place is no exception so it's better to get a taxi at night. Likewise disabled access or buggy access is not great.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal at the Cawdor. I was half expecting one of those tiny, underwhelming hotel meals but was blown away by the delicious & very filling chicken dish that I ordered. It was tasty & cooked to perfection. The service was excellent & swift. The only downside to this hotel is the decor & lighting are rubbish!! especially the lighting...but it would not stand in the way of another visit. I was so impressed, I spent many days trying to find an excuse to go back again. Not bad value for money either. Bon appetit!
