These Stunning Caribbean Caves Were Just Named One of the World’s Top Attractions by Tripadvisor

"The Cayman Crystal Caves, located on the Northside of Grand Cayman Island, are a major attraction formed millions of years ago and officially opened in 2016. The caves, which were once underwater, feature stunning crystal-like stalagmites and stalactites. Visitors can explore three caves and the surrounding tropical forest through 1.5-hour guided tours. The site has earned significant acclaim, including being named one of the top attractions in the world by Tripadvisor." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"Though a relatively new option for tourists, the Crystal Caves of Grand Cayman’s Old Man Bay have been hosting other sorts of visitors since time immemorial: Everyone from bats (who still hang out near the entrance) to farmers (in search of the attendant guano) to pirates (where better to dodge both hurricanes and the law?). Shrouded within a healthy radius of rain forest, these stalactite-and-stalagmite-studded caverns are well worth your visit, too; whether or not you locate the treasure that some of the previous occupants are rumored to have left behind, you’ll find a wealth of natural beauty—especially the reflection of all those formations in the gin-clear rainwater lake."

Justin was an excellent tour guide. Everything was so smooth and wonderful for the kids and large families. It was nice to learn history of the Cayman Islands, North side and the crystal caves. Justin engaged well with the kids and took some great family photos for us.

Top notch place to visit. The guide Yeves was fantastic. Very knowledgeable. Very very humid. Bring cold beverage with you. We did the first tour of the morning on Saturday of Easter weekend and it was wonderful. Weather wasn’t too hot but the caves were super humid. Lots to see and explore. Great for families with kids.

The guided tour by Chris Jr. at the Crystal Caves was so much fun. Chris Jr was GREAT & provided us with so much information. The Caves were absolutely beautiful. Great place for family pictures. The nature walk was nice! I purchased some Caymanite Stones at the Tree-House, 2/$10 (Great Deal) Recommend making a reservation so you don't miss out on this. LOVED this place - I will be back!

My husband and I toured the caves in February and had a great time! Our guide was funny and very informative. We've been to a few caves in the United States, but these were definitely different. I enjoyed seeing the bats and the roots of trees in the caves.

A beautiful place to visit with the family. The excursion and guides are very organized. The caves and paths are safe and easy to access. And the caves: just majestic, outstanding, unforgettable. We have been to many types of caves (Colorado gold mines, Canadian shield natural caves, Alps river caves), these rank amongst the best caves to visit: the stalactites and stalagmites formation are the best. The tour last about 90 minutes. As a bonus, the last portion of the tour includes a cave full of bats, very awesome.

Go early to beat the heat and the crowds. The staff is wonderful and the caves are spectacular. There are larger caves but these are the most diverse. Some steps and uneven paths so not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Amazing experience for kids. It's great for adults if you haven't seen caves with stalagtities and stalagmites. Our tour guy Ashani was amazing. He made our ride up to the caves fun for kids. As you walk through the the forest, he had a lot of information about local plants. You will visit 3 caves. Each one is a little different. They do save the best for last. The last cave has a beautiful mini lake and a bunch of bats hanging around. Kids can't wait to come back.

One of the top things to do on this island. You have to buy a guided tour to enter, but it's worth it. Our guide Chris explained about the history of the caves, showed a few iguanas that we met on the way to the caves, and gave a detailed background on how the caves became available for public view. We were shown three caves, and the last one had the biggest size and depth. Due to mosquitos, they provide insect repellants at the site, but I highly recommend that you bring the one that works best for you. I recommend bringing a flashlight since it helps with walking certain sections that are not lighted well. Also, a good sturdy pair of shoes is definitely helpful, since there are stairs and some grounds are slanted. There are bats inside the biggest cave, which was very interesting to watch.
