Beautiful beach and clear warm waters. This place is well worth a day out. We went with Thomas cook who do not offer the safari on the island due to insurance issues with old 1930s russian army vehicles used to transport you. however if you are from the UK you can pay a small fee and do the safari. personally i would not bother, there are not many animals and more time on the beautiful beach would be a better option next time. Everyone there is very friendly, good food and a great experience.

Whilst in Cuba we booked an excursion to Cayo Saetia on a catamaran. Well worth the money as it was a beautiful island!

Absolutely adorable place. Crystal clear water, white soft sands and the nature around is stunning. Definitely go on a safari around the island, there is a lot to see. No wonder it is called Paradise Island.

A lot of military surveillance, the personnel is not trained to answer many questions for fear of their leaders, a place where their people cannot go, practically very few people know the place, it is a pity that the Cubans themselves cannot enjoy some of its flora and fauna, I would never return.

I was born in Holguin Cuba, and heard of this key but in my years of life I have never heard from my family and friends, allan visited this place, it is sad to be part of a place that everyone calls wonderful when its own citizens do not know it Most of the Cuban people don't even know that these places exist. Don't travel to Cuba. Don't be complicit in the sadness of Cuban citizens.

Do not book via the homepage of Gaviota-group (Gaviota is the hotel chain to which Villa Cayo Saetia belongs). They will charge you 100% but they might "lose" your reservation... Furthermore, we were told that the hotel has electricity and water problems (probably since the last hurricane) when we wanted to enter the national park. No one contacted us before. We were told to drive to an all-inclusive hotel (with 350+ rooms) of the same owner at Guardalavaca (3 hrs away) and it took us three days to convince the hotel staff there that we do not have to pay any more money and that we just went there because we were told to do so by Villa Cayo Saetia... During our 3 weeks stay in Cuba (mostly in Casa Particulares, which worked fine and whose owners are mostly highly motivated), the 3 days at the hotel of Gaviota Group were the worst. For "European" prices we expected services at least better than the Cuban average. In the end the services were worst than in a 25USD-Casa Particular!
