Love it. It’s awesome and convenient. Especially crossing back into the states. You save yourself the hassle of waiting around in line at the regular border crossing. Of course, the convenience comes at a price. The only downside really is if you’re crossing as a family, the cost adds up.

Google
Very streamlined process. Have your boareing passes screenshot and your passport's ready. Straightforward shot from San Diego to the TJ border. During the weekday there is free parking on the street. Ideally Tuesday. Otherwise you would have to pay online for parking as it is cheaper. The CBX entry fee for a family of four was about $200 round trip Aug 5 2025

Google
Great way to get on a flight from Mexico via San Diego. CBX has workers who speak English and Spanish to help you get all the tickets and documentation needed to cross the border into the Tijuana Airport. Once you enter the CBX building in the US, you get your immigration documentation and CBX ticket, you scan your ticket and go through border customs, then walk down a long hallway to then go through Tijuana airport security, and then you’re inside the Tijuana airport and good to go until your plane boards.

Last week on Tuesday I was asked by my wife's friends if I would do her the favor of taking her husband to this airport. I said yes,I did take him and dropped him off and yesterday he returned and I went to pick him up at the same place. I couldn't believe that there is no traffic there but you have to be mind full of where you park and watch your surroundings. I had no issues and it was fun.

Google
I’m not gonna lie, this system has gotten really bad, the staff are completely incompetent. They need to get better staff. Make the whole process better. After a long flight, everybody just wants to get home. You guys can do better at CBX

Google
Crossing the border via CBX is so safe and easy! For $20 to cross inside, and you can park in one of the many gated pay lots right out front on the US side for 15 to $30 a day on average depending on the lot you choose. When you go inside, you use one of the automated ticket machines, then show your documentation and boarding pass, walk through the connecting tunnel/building straight into the Tijuana airport. It could not be easier and allows you to take the much more affordable flights out of Tijuana to anywhere in Mexico paying 1/3 of the price you would out of San Diego. I've done it a handful of times and will continue to do so!

We have been using CBX for several years now and have always been very pleased with the cleanliness, great service, convenience, and reasonableness. Never had an issue… until recently. It looks like Mexican Immigration is getting really strict with visitors length of stay. We generally travel for one week, the last two times from Monday to Monday. Apparently, that is considered 8 days by CBX immigration agents, even though our hotel and flight were for 7 days. The attendant was actually quite rude about it, counting with her fingers the number of days, insisting I don’t know how to count. When I replied, “I just got here, why are you counting that as a whole day already? That’s the math error right there.” She simply said, well, you don’t have to go through, you can go back to where you came from”. Seeing it was going nowhere I just went to pay the “over 7 days” fee, even though we weren’t staying over 7 days. It wasn’t at all about the money, it’s about the pettiness and offensive attitude. Not sure why they are doing this, but I think that’s it for me flying out of TJ for a while. Never had that problem flying out of US airports to Europe, South America, Canada, Asia… just Mexico, and just recently.

Google
Absolute best way to fly or travel to Mexico. We had someone drop us off and 30 minutes later we were at out gate. just need to ensure you fill out the immigration form and pay for the cbx crossing before hand if you want to save some time. Would def use again!

Yelp
We recently used CBX for our flight to Cabo, as price difference and convenience of flying domestically in Mexico was well worth it! CBX is basically an extension of the airport terminal, as it is not a standard border crossing, it is for airport passengers only. The process was fairly simple, we purchased our crossing for $35 per person, scanned the code upon entry, then went through security/customs on our into TIJ airport. They have a few separate lanes, so be prepared for which one you need to use. There is one for non-MX passport holders spending less than 7 days in MX, one for the same but more than 7 days and then a lane for MX passport holders. If you are spending more than 7 days, you'll need to complete the additional travel forms. There is a station for that if needed. The CBX is well laid out, in good condition, features clear signage is clean and easy to navigate. Once you complete your steps within CBX, you are dumped out right to security in TIJ. Overall, the process was easy and convenient. When visiting San Diego and making our way into and out of Mexico, CBX is definitely our go to option!

Yelp
BEWARE OF PARKING SCAM USING QR CODES. It is the second time it happens to me. The first time was last year when I paid for parking via their posted QR codes and my credit card was then flagged for fraudulent activity. There were various charges in the same general area of San Diego. My card was then locked and I got a new one. I didn't think it had anything to do with the pay parking This year, I paid for parking again via a QR code. This time I used my debit card, and a few days later I noticed small payments of a few dollars. I disputed them and I thought that was it but still blocked my card and got a new one. A few days later I got about 5 notifications of random charges in Sacramento, Utah, Las Vegas, Missouri, and Louisiana. I immediately blocked my card and ordered a new one. Once I activated my new cards, I started getting more notifications which I was able to block because it alerted the fraud department in my bank. About a week later, AGAIN. This time, a fake call from my bank stating there was fraud on my account and asking for personal information which I did not provide. These people hacked into my phone and were able to get my passwords and card information. I was able to change my passwords and secure my phone but it was a headache please DO NOT TRUST THE QR CODES. Please educate yourselves on these types of fraud. They are common in tourist areas.

Yelp
We have used CBX about 12 times since it opened. Ten observations: 1) The new CBX is much more efficient than when they started. Night and day. 2) CBX should be distinguished from Mexican customs and immigration. Mexican immigration still sucks going south. Don't get caught in the trap. 7 days or less, you don't pay. They have it 7 days or more. Print your return ticket because immigration will ask you for it if you are 7 days or less. DON'T fall for the scam! Remember though, you have to count the current day in your 7 days, it doesn't start the next day. 3) Prices have increased at CBX, not quite the value it once was. Factor in FMM fees if you stay more than 7 days, and parking, you may not be saving much unless you fly VivaAerobus. Volaris isn't a deal some of the time because of the TUA fee added. 4) Parking has improved 1000% at CBX. But stay a week and you're looking at over $150 if not more, especially if you use a premium lot. In the early days, you would see multiple cars sideswiped in the parking lot who had parked on the ends. Haven't seen anything recently but they are warning Kia drivers not to park on the street due to car theft. 5) Red-eye flights and holidays can jam up immigration and customs on both sides, expect to wait, especially going south. We arrived three hours early for a flight to Cancun and almost missed our flight one time going south. One immigration officer working and over 300 people in line. Ridiculous. 6) Don't forget to keep your boarding pass for coming back into the USA, without it, you won't get into CBX. You need your CBX ticket and your boarding pass to return to the USA. 7) Fill out your FMM form online before you go, and if you're staying more than 7 days, you can even pay your fee. This streamlines the process. BTW, this is where the 7 days or less can be found for your reference. 8) Always bring paper copies of your boarding pass, FMM form, and CBX tickets. Don't ask why, just do it. :) 9) At least two times, after a red-eye flight, we've had luggage issues, once with Volaris and once with VivaAerobus. We waited over 2 hours one time. I don't think the airport staffs as many handlers for late night flights. Hopefully this has been remedied. 10) Lastly, remember to check your flight status. Depending on the route, they may run late. Probably 30% of the time we've run more than 30 minutes late. Our last three flights, two to Cabo on VivaAerobus, and one to Mazatlan on Volaris, all ran late, over 2 hours for a Cabo flight. The same for picking someone up, make sure they are actually on the plane before you plan your arrival to pick them up.

Yelp
Security personnel are very rude, streets has multiple bumps that will damage the suspension of your automobile

Yelp
This is a great way to travel throughout Mexico from San Diego. The first time was a learning experience with all the paperwork and parking options, but the parking lots were plentiful. The facilities are clean and there's quite a bit of food options, be prepared to get your steps in and some times during the day are more quiet than others, so make sure you arrive in time to check in, walk over the border and check in again with your airline if you need to check baggage!
google avatar

Yelp
I arrived early going southbound. I purchased my CBX ticket online as well as my Mexico immigration form and airline ticket. What I did not know is the immigration forms have to be used within 72 hours. Thankfully, once I crossed the pedestrian bridge someone helped me fill out a new form, print it out and pay the fee. The rest went easily, but took a while because of the long lines. Scan your CBX ticket and boarding pass to cross. You will need your passport multiple times. Save your immigration form and fee payment receipt. Cancel the immigration form once you return and before crossing back into the USA. Then be ready to go through immigration, customs, then airport security. Lines for each, so come early. It took me about 90 minutes. Overall, it was easy, and so much nicer than crossing elsewhere and trying to get to the airport.

Yelp
We took the gamble and decided to fly out of Tijuana and it was the best decision of our whole trip! Both getting into and leaving the Tijuana airport was simple and a breeze. Minimal wait times for checking in, the security line, and customs. Easy drop off and pickup for Uber. They also have parking lots on site. It helps to purchase your CBX ticket online in advance so you can just scan and go through the gate. I also recommend you fill out your FMM form in advance online and print it out to help expedite getting into Tijuana. From entering CBX to getting to our plane's gate it was only 30 minutes. The hardest part was the long walk crossing the border in the corridor. Hopefully this was not a fluke and this is how smoothly CBX normally runs. If so, I will definitely be going through CBX for all my future Mexico trips.

Sam S.

Yelp
Sorry for the delay in writing this. Return was as smooth as going there. Get off the plane, walk towards the CBX. If you have Sentry or Global entry it's a piece of cake getting back to the US. There wasn't a very long wait at the other windows either.

Yelp
Details of our trip- we left out of TJ to Mexico City on a Wednesday morning. 9:30 flight so we got to CBX at around 7, just to be sure. We moved through security and customs in no more than 20 minutes, it was a breeze. On our return, we arrived at around 10 on Saturday night and going back through customs was a breeze again. I heard that there can be some long wait times but that wasn't our experience at all. We will be using the TJ airport for a lot of trips moving forward and will be happy to use the CBX to get there.

Yelp
Very impressive! We flew back from Loreto today. From the time we got out of the plane to the time we step foot outside of the CBX was about 15-20 minutes. Not bad at all. As long as you have all your paperwork on hand, things are smooth. Passport and CBX bar code and that's it. It was a great experience. Lots of walking lol, but fast process. We came back on a Saturday around 5:30 pm. Fast process through immigration and through the CBX scan gate!

Yelp
CBX is very convenient and definitely worth the money. My wife and I travel frequently to Mexico and this eliminates the wait and chaos of going through the boarder. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here. The parking was great, i picked up a friend and everything went well. The bathrooms are really nice, I like the air dryers are right next to the faucet so there's no mess on the floor, the sink catches mess while drying hands.

Yelp
Good to come drop off and pick up family and friends from Mexico no worries about passing the border you drop off they use the bridge

Yelp
I don't know why one would rate CBX anything less than five stars. CBX is really helpful for US residents to fly in and out of TIJ. Check out my friend Brad B.'s tips in his review. It is possible that, depending upon where you live, where you want to fly to, and which airline you may prefer, that CBX might not be worth it for you in terms of time and money. I have flown from TIJ twice, and CBX was a great option both times. It's so much faster and easier to cross the border here, especially coming back to the US, but, of course, YMMV. Knowing some Spanish is always useful, but not really necessary when navigating CBX. There are a number of websites that help you navigate the process. This one is pretty good: https://www.sandiego.com/blog/post/cross-border-xpress-san-diego-cbx/ I recommend getting your FMM form online: https://www.crossborderxpress.com/en/fmm/ Safe travels! P.S. Wear walking shoes!

Yelp
CBX process itself was very easy. I utilized the service on my way back into the US. Everything was labeled properly and easy to understand. Very affordable given you don't have to wait in line much. I walked straight across after verifying my identity around 3 times lol. Once on the other side they offer a couple of food places along with options to travel further into the US. I already had a ride waiting and they had no issue picking up.

Yelp
Just came back from CBX. WARNING: Parking is horrific. Cars are parked 3+ miles away, hundreds of them, bumper to bumper along both sides of the road. If you are dropping off your passengers, no problem. But once you cross the bridge, you may have to fly Volaris, an airline that bills itself as "ultra low cost" (aka why pay for maintenance?). If you need to park, my advice is find a SAFE place to park in the San Diego area and Uber to CBX.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here and it was an excellent. Very clean and easy to navigate through. Lots of different places to eat. Good drinks and lots of fun.

Yelp
The CBX bridge is SUCH a convenience, both going and coming. As someone who regularly goes to Tijuana, waiting in line to return to the US, even through Otay border crossing, takes time. So if you are so inclined or have the need to travel from Tijuana anywhere in Mexico, but live in the San Diego, Orange County, or LA County area, the CBX bridge is a time saver. Two stars are mainly for the parking situation. Having said that. the CBX -specific parking situation is HORRIBLE! I reserved a spot for Lot E. When I arrived, Lot E gate was closed, and it indicated any reservations go to Lot F, which is one block closer to the terminal bridge. I thought- "Cool! Score!" Not so fast. There's only one gate in and 1 out, and there aren't any attendants. My QR code did not work. There's a small sign below the scanner indicating if your QR code doesn't work or if you have a Lot E reservation to call for help. I tried 3 times, and got a message "the wireless caller you are trying is not available!" - the "help" was some person with a cell phone! WTH???? Meanwhile 2 cars pulled up right behind me. I FINALLY managed to get through to what clearly was one person with a phone somewhere. I had to provide my QR reservation number and name and the gate opened. I was afraid the same would happen on the way out. It did! I went to the opposite end of the lot, and the scanner for the lift arm/gate was down. I drove across to the entrance which also had an exit. It would either not give me the "HELP" button, and/or I received the "wireless caller is not available" message. A guard who was driving around pulled up behind me, and I backed up so he could get out. Another car that was trying to get into the lot was having the same issue. The guard told me to push the "help" button, and then he got out to try to help. When he heard the recording about the caller not being available, he said, "maybe it's because the other car is being helped". but I told him I arrived BEFORE that car and still hadn't gotten through to a person. He walked away and said "keep trying.' In all, it took 20 minutes to exit the parking lot. It crossed my mind to drive right through the wooden arm keeping me in. Those of you that need to leave your cars; look elsewhere. There are several lots. It may be further away, but they usually provide a free shuttle to and from CBX, and they are cheaper. I will not park @ CBX lots again until they get their business in order. CBX-you are making a KILLING in parking/bridge crossing. You've opened up several lots. Please have actual PEOPLE attending these in person that can help, not via cell phones where no one answers. This system isn't working.
google avatar

Yelp
Wait times are over 1 hour and you have to go through 2 security checkpoints. It is not worth it. Take a taxi to Tijuana airport from border and it's so much faster. This is our last time using CBX
google avatar

Samir C.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience. It was very safe, fast and easy. We were dropped off so don't know about parking. I had our bridge ticket printed out. We also had passport and boarding pass. They check documents to cross the bridge. It takes 10 min to cross. The passport line on the other side had no wait. Then through security and to the gate. We were in a downstairs area with 2 gates. They have drinks but no food. I believe there is food available in the main gate area. Then we walked on the tarmac to the plane. Returning was just as easy. We'll use CBX again. Much cheaper flights than from San Diego Airport.
google avatar

Alfred H.

Yelp
The valet parking is absolutely amazing. So convenient. This is the spot when there's no direct flights from LAX.
google avatar

Natalie J.

Yelp
Today was my first time parking at CBX and flying out of TIJ. We had our documents printed ahead of time the only thing we forgot to print was the FMM immigration form. The staff at CBX helped us quickly print one and the walk through the border was very smooth. The longest process was about 15 min to get through the Mexico border crossing. We saved over $1200 flying out of TIJ to Cabo instead of LAX or the other US airports. The drive from Orange county was quick and the parking lot at CBX was pretty full. Spaces are tight so if you don't mind door dings you should be alright. The return process was great zero people in line when we reached the border. It was walk through and be on your way. I will definitely use CBX again.

Yelp
CBX is literally the best invention since sliced bread. Your telling me I can travel to the Tijuana Airport and fly without stepping foot in Tijuana?!?! No driving or walking the ridiculous border lines after a long flight?! Where do I sign up?! This has been a travelers dream and I am a professional CBX traveler at this point. Their renovations continue to improve and I am here for it!! Seriously this is worth every penny I have never had an issue and have never waited longer than 30 min going into Mexico and 20 min coming back. You do have to have a valid passport. There is parking available, rental car availability and shuttle options. Food trucks are set up outside with a Starbucks. Please, save yourself time and go via CBX!
google avatar

Gracie M.

Yelp
Excellent but be ready to walk but worth it we used going to cancun Mexico fabulous!
google avatar

JL S.

Yelp
Pricing will definitely send me to the El Chaparral border crossing in the future. $36.11 USD is now assessed from the Mexican side of CBX for a one way trip. Get outta here!!
google avatar

James V.

Yelp
Super smooth and convenient! Definitely recommended, well worth the cost. Process is very clear. Saves an immense amount of time when going from the TJ airport back to the US or vice-versa.
google avatar

Gisselle J.

Yelp
How is it possible that if I paid for a ROUND TRIP but accidentally didn't change the starting point to SD to TJ I have to buy a whole new ticket? I already am paying to be able to go from tj to sd once and from sd to tj once so why does the order I use them in matter??? On top of it you have the worst customer service ever! You can't get a hold of anyone to help you.

Rob L.

Yelp
Used CBX in April for a Tijuana to Cancun trip. Whole thing was great with almost no lines at all. Was an early morning flight on a Saturday and reserved parked in Lot E (that may be the one downside as that lot is not paved), but no issues with the parking, then a walk to CBX and there were reps there to answer any questions (we had none). Had our pre-purchased CBX passes ready to scan at the terminals and passports ready and then it was just walking to various escalators and check-points (run bag through screener -- no line, no wait), go through customs (no line, no wait), we had our our IMM forms filled out prior so that helped things along. Then bag screening/metal detectors on the TJ side (again no line, no wait) and we were in TJ airport before we knew it. On the return, again no wait to get into CBX from Tijuana (actually not sure there was any place that verified we even had our CBX ticket as we only scanned our passport and not the CBX ticket ever on the return). Again no wait at customs on US side (nothing to declare), though we have Global Entry but there was no one in any lines. Only 2 stops coming back to USA and then we were done. After getting our car from parking, you don't need to scan out, the gate just lifts for you so that was easy as well. This was our 3rd time using CBX in 2-3 years and every time has been a breeze. We apparently don't travel at "peak" date/times or something, because nothing we've seen could be easier.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
I've used CBX over nine times in the past 4 years and have always had a smooth experience with minimal wait times. The airport has been upgraded, and everything looks fresh and modern, with clean facilities and even light-up mirrors in the restrooms near gates 19-20. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online before arriving to save time. We typically arrive 2-3 hours before our flight. Since we only travel with carry-on luggage, I can't speak to the check-in process for bags, but overall, the experience has been efficient. This time, we parked in LOT E (which is unpaved) and had a short walk to the airport entrance. Before entering, be prepared to fill out an immigration form and scan your passports. For a group of 2-14 people, this took us about 1-5 minutes. Even if there's a line, staff are present to help keep things moving quickly. Walking through CBX took us about 30 minutes, and we arrived at our gate 1.5 hours early for a 9:15 a.m. flight on a Friday morning (we parked at 7 a.m.). The process was quick and seamless. Overall, I highly recommend using CBX for international travel. The airport is clean, efficient, and hassle-free.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're ever flying out of TJ Mexico, this is a must! This was my second time, it's so easy you park in there very large parking lot, even has valet parking. And is in San Diego, and you walk over the bridge into the airport. It's that easy and the airport is clean and reminds me of the Topanga mall. So why do I do this you ask? It's the cheapest way to fly in Mexico, they have more flights available and it's at the minimum half the price! Like 150 round trip to most parts of Mexico. . You don't have to step into Tijuana. It's incredible. and recommended.
google avatar

M A.

Yelp
I travel to Mexico practically every month or so. My traveling group and I like using CBX. It's a big convenience but it is also overly priced. We're already spending money on flights, parking, food, lodging and entertainment. Why must CBX keep raising the cost to cross the border. I get it...new buildings, elevators, parking lots, fences, signs, sidewalks carts, machines, computers, security, etc. How about downsizing on staff members per shift. There are too many in one station/area. It doesn't take 5-7 staff members to run a couple turnstile/gate, or 3 people at the ticket counter. Since price keeps rising due to specific season, perhaps schedule more staff on peak season and when season is low, schedule less staff. Budget. What IS consistent about CBX is construction construction construction. NO MORE PRICE HIKES PLS. Bring back better deals than just the family pack. Bring back the $32 round trip, at least on special occasions. PS CBX is clean
google avatar

Sjohnna K.

Yelp
I arrived at CBX with more than 2.5 hours before my flight. I did all my forms and payments online to save time. Much to my dismay, the immigration line was over two hours long. There were barely and CBX employees to be found and no one was going through the line to check to make sure all documents were done correctly. CBX knows how many people are flying during spring break and should have staffed up. To make matters worse, they weren't letting immediate departures go to the front. I was in line when my plane left. Then, insult to injury, when I went to check my bags they wouldn't do it. They sent use back to the arrivals ticket counter (which was another fun line). Tons of passengers missed their flights and it felt like CBX could care less. Never again. I would put no stars if I could.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
I was very skeptical to use the CBX. I had never really heard about it until my coworker told me about it. They told me that they had a parking lot and it was safe to use. I didn't think that it would be so clean and organized. It is kind of pricey but it is worth it. I parked my car on the street parking since it was the cheapest option. I didn't want to pay double just to park inside. Anyway once I got my ticket, they let us through and we walk this bridge that doesn't feel like a bridge, but we reach Mexican customs and voila! The airport is there. I am definitely using this again and highly recommend it!

Yelp
This place is amazing, provided you take the necessary step and preparation BEFORE coming. 1.) Buy tickets online in ADVANCE. This way you can avoid any weird exchange rate fluctuations, plus, it's easier to pass because they email you a QR code which you can save to your phone. 2.) Fill out FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) online and print it out to save time and hassle. Piggybacking off Luz's comment, if you're staying in Mexico for more than 7 days there is an additional airport fee. Same with boarding pass. You'll need this QR code + FMM combo to pass the CBX gates. Ever since the multimillion remodel project, this place is VERY nice looking. It's equipped to process lots more travelers and the new architecture is a delight to look at. The workers speak English on both sides as well, so there's always assistance if you get lost or confused. My only gripe is that they've raised prices since I've first started coming here, but I think it's still a good deal and the newly improved facilities reflect that. Also, less of a gripe but Mexican passport stamps perpetually suck. Refill the ink once in a while please, I want a nice juicy stamp on my passport for once :P.

Wane R.

Yelp
Extremely easy! Bring passport, flight boarding pass, pay CBX round trip ticket and print scanned form, complete the FMM form and ensure it is successfully accepted, then print form. Once you arrive simply use CBX paid form and flight boarding pass and show passport, walk a short distance to have your luggage checked at the Tijuana airport. Couldn't be easier Mexican airline flights are significantly cheaper! Great system to fly in Mexico! Staff at CBX are helpful if you need assistance.

Yelp
Easy Easy!! Learning From my past visits, I'm giving it a 5 star for efficiency. If you fill out your documents prior to your visit to the CBX, I have found it efficient. -have your boarding pass in hand -Buy your CBX online -fill out your immigration forms ahead of time ALL THIS WILL SAVE YOU TIMES IN THE LINE AT THE CBX They do have CBX workers who help you at the self serve Kiosk. They are kind to guide you when you purchase your CBX ticket or fill out your immigration form. But please put in mind that if you are flying out on a busy day, those kiosks will be busy. *HELPFUL TIP!! : if your staying in Mexico for more than 7 days. You will have to pay a fee at another kiosk once you are in the Tijuana international airport. So managing your time is essential.

Yelp
CBX - VIVA - Review If your flight leaves at 9am, I recommend arriving by 6am. (If you're alone, being dropped off and have experience with the process, you might be able to cut it down to 1.5hrs before flight departure.) Yes. A bit of frustration to start. Asking us for immigration papers. (This is new to us). But there are several kiosk and the guy was very helpful. So, first gauntlet stop, you need to show Passport, DL, Citizenship. Then proceed into CBX. Next, another line. Show all the same and pass luggage thru scanner. Next, proceed to Mexico and another check and luggage scan. Then continue thru tunnel. Arrive at entry to flights and another luggage scan and remove any metal. Next, another walk, and to the gate. Upon return to Tijuana International Airport, you proceed to the CBX tunnel. The first checkpoint there is a check of your I.D. (Passports) and CBX. Then proceed to next checkpoint and you need to scan both your Airline Boarding Pass (?) and CBX pass. The scanner allows only 5 seconds! You can't use the Airline app then the CBX app to show both within 5 seconds. So you must take screenshots so you can open in photos so you quickly swipe your each with 5 seconds. (Note: this information; this "tip" is nowhere to be found unless someone writes it on Yelp). Why we needed to show a boarding pass for a flight we just disembarked and no longer need it as we're done flying, does not make sense. They want you to "prove" you had flown? Unfortunately, we flew VIVA Aerobus, which is an economical airline and we had a connecting flight in Guadalajara from Monterey, so our 13 hour travel day had us already tired before beginning the gauntlet of inspections. Next, we proceed to the next and third inspection point, the U.S. port of entry. We have Sentri Global Entry but, at 2am it's not much advantage because you still get in line for baggage X-ray. The finally you are done and it's a short walk to the outdoors and your family waiting or your parked car. Another Note: We flew VIVA Aerobus. An economical airline, as I mentioned. We experienced 1-HR delays and last minute Gage changes when we left Tijuana, when we left Monterrey and when we left Guadalajara. So, each time we departed. The one from Guadalajara was delayed waiting for passenger (a family of three) which had tickets for seats already filled. So the VIVA agents asked passengers and "rearranged" things and found the family seats. Along with a lengthy refueling for which we sat inside the plane for 30 minutes, we finally taxi'd and waited our turn to take off from the very busy Guadalajara airport. Another note flying VIVA.. only Tijuana International used a PBD (Passenger Boarding Bridge). At Monterrey and Guadalajara Airports, we embarked and disembarked using stairs. Albeit 1960's nostalgic, we weren't feeling "retro" when we walked in the tarmac. Also, in Guadalajara, we explained we had a connecting flight. VIVA personnel pointed to a bus. Get onboard, they motioned. The bus, packed like a New York subway, took as across the airport. When we got off the bus, unfamiliar with where we were and worried we might miss out flight, we asked people "which way?". Believe it or not, we had to walk back to where we disembarked clear across the airport. I shit you not, it was about a mile. Needless to say, "connecting flights" are no longer on the menu of our infrequent fly-to vacations. Direct Flight or nothing.

Yelp
I can say this was hands down the easiest travel experience I've had in years. The arrival, ticket process, and border crossing was so seamless. Highly recommend buying a round trip ticket so you return trip is that much quicker. Do your homework so you have your immigration paperwork ready to go and know where or not you will require a visa.

Yelp
Someone else was picking up my car from the parking lot and I didn't want them to pay. So I dropped it off and entered my credit card for the parking fee to be charged to. I was told by the "HELP" button agent that they would only need the last 4 digits of my card to exit the structure. After multiple calls with agents to leave the structure, they had to end up paying the three day charge themselves. This is EXTREMELY inconvenient and should have a better system.

Yelp
Fast, easy and convenient! For my South America trip I decided to give flying out of TIJ a try since LAX has recently had a surge in flight cancellations. CBX Cross Border Xpress made my experience much easier than it would have been than crossing the MX border. I purchased the one way ticket online for the cost of $24.00 instead of using the kiosk upon entering the building. After bypassing this area I went to the immigration line and input my passport information in their system and answer their questions before walking over to their immigration line where they stamped my passport. This being a Friday afternoon the line for immigration was less than 5 minutes. I then proceed to luggage security to have my bags scanned and again no line. I was in and out of here for less than 5 minutes. They recommend international travel to arrive 4 hours prior to your departure which i abided by and by the time I was finished with immigration, security and ticketing, it was a total of less than 20 minutes for Everything. Everyone spoke English and ready to help me if I needed it. I'd definitely use this again and flying into different parts of MX is much cheaper than flying out of SNA, ONT or LAX. I'd hugely recommend this service! This is the way to go.

Yelp
on the plus, it is much easier for customs and getting across the border BUT.... they have gotten out of hand. they hide TONS OF FEES. every trip used to be a good value. now... parking is more than anywhere else ($400 for parking - are you kidding me?) fees up costs up not such a great value any more

Yelp
If you're in need of a LAND crossing to get back into the states this is the literal ticket! $19 purchased online. I arrived around midnight Fri/Sat and to my surprise very few people in line, when I crossed only two other Americans were there. There's a Global Entry line not sure how fast you can access it with long lines, maybe just walk right to the front. You'll need your land crossing card (luckily I carry it in my passport but have never used it) but since this isn't an airport it doesn't auto scan with your passport- different system maybe. If you're traveling without Global Entry, that's a joke! Why?! Actually, I couldn't careless-do you! but wow! To each their own lol. I'm not into wasting my time without TSA pre check or standing in lines, taking off my shoes and all that clown shit. This service really saved the day, if you find yourself needing it. Blessings up! You're home!

Yelp
I don't know they don't have a 5 star rating on CBX! I've used CBX so many times over the years. It's so convenient for San Diegans to fly out of TJ. Personally, I don't use the parking as we usually just Uber to and from. They have a dedicated a spot to make it easy to find your driver. They are making improvements through out. It's taking a little bit of time but everyone likes improvements. It's the ease of it for me! I will continue to utilize cbx! Our most recent trip was last week and it was smooth sailing for me.

Yelp
I had no idea CBX existed until earlier this year when my friend told me this is what her family used to fly out of Tijuana. When the flight difference between flying out of TJ or LAX is $400, you definitely consider the option. Bought a round trip ticket online, which was very affordable. The entire process is pretty easy. Make sure you have your FMM filled out beforehand. Get there, you scan in. Walk across the border via the enclosed bridge from CBX to Tijuana International Airport. Go through immigration on the other side. Done and done. Coming back, there were plenty of signs at Tijuana airport guiding you to CBX. I can't reiterate how easy the process was to get back. Highly recommended and super glad CBX exists!

Yelp
Did this again and I have to say I liked it better the second time. There are 2 reasons why you would want to use CBX to fly into Mexico. Currently you need to get a test 24 hours before your return flight to the US (even when vaxxed) when you're on vacation, could be really hard to get as I learned in previous flights. Because of a technicality, US does not check testing for LAND border crossings, and you could basically fly in and out of the US without having to get a test while on vacation in Mexico or wherever. The 2nd reason is that flights from TJA to LATAM is much cheaper than flying domestic, assuming you find free street parking in San Diego and Ubering it (I'd skip premiere parking unless you want to pay high prices for that). One interesting tidbit, I didn't know there's a place here at CBX to print your Mexican visa, which you can use to save $30 which is a nice plus. You pay $32 for a round trip ticket, but instead of paying $30 upon arrival in Mexico, you get it printed for you without having to pay. So this was a surprising win for CBX! Overall, I'd use this place for inexpensive solo flights and convenience over LAX at the moment, until COVID restrictions die down.

Yelp
I've used this bridge for 6 trips to/from the TIJ airport. When under 50 people are simultaneously crossing in your direction, you can get from curbside to Tijuana airport gate in 15 minutes, and return to US in 30. When more than 100 people are attempting a crossing, the system starts to fall apart. More than 1000, like around a holiday, and the system melts down, and you'll need 2 hours to cross either way. Most recent experiences for 2 TIJ trips in Dec 2022 & Jan 2023: the app crashed during payment, most of the ticket-selling machines on each side were broken, and there was just one person selling real live tickets, resulting in massive waits. Also Aeromexico sold me bridge tix but provided invalid redemption codes. CBX used to be about $25; now it's $35, even more if you pay on the TIJ side with a credit card. Parking is now $15-$30 per day, with the unsecured, non-gated $15 spots usually full. The bridge and facilities used to be regularly cleaned and shiny, now everything is grimy. There's a discount for buying a round-trip ticket, but beware: if you have a delayed evening flight and make it to the bridge after midnight, you have to buy a new one-way, as tickets only work on dates you specify during purchase. Also, if you have to go to a TIJ baggage office on arrival, you can't go back in and use the bridge. What was once a cheap, simple way to get between TIJ and the USA is now expensive, sloooow, and dirty. Check border crossing times online (https://bwt.cbp.gov/ , click Pedestrians, and explore under 'San Ysidro' where CBX times are also given). You may save a lot of time and money by taking a $18 cab from the airport to the border... and you can fit 2-4 people in a cab.

Yelp
I'm glad for this cross border xpress because it makes it easy for us who lives closer to Mexico to go to Mexico at a much cheaper price by flying from Tijuana instead. It was our first time and people here were helpful, there were some confusions with which ones to scan first because for some reason they know not all speaks Spanish right? but still tried their best to speak in their native language even if the other person was speaking with their own different native language. Anyways everyone managed to cross. :-) We'll use this cross border xpress again

Yelp
I've used CBX 5 times round trip and while it can get crowded, it still beats the customs lines at the San Diego airport or in Mexico. I feel like the process gets easier each time, as with most travel processes, the more you use it and understand it, the smoother your experience will be. I reserved priority parking this time to ensure a smooth arrival and short walk. They sent me plenty of emails to remind me about parking, pre-printing the immigration forms and what to expect. I'll continue using this crossing to/from Mexico.
