I'm amazed by the reviews stating friendly. We didn't find any of the staff welcoming. Cute place, but pretentious. We went up to bar to order & was advised by bartender someone would be sent to our table. Order taken and brought to us. Again, friendliness wasn't observed. Credit card only.

Staff are always welcoming and very attentive. I wanted to try the new menu following the recent refurb. Pizza was tasty but base was a little thick, quility products used. Sarter arrived after the main, but equally great flavour, acutally bon bons were really tasty! Menu advised the haggis bon bons came with brown sauce (bit weird in my opinion) requested if it was possible to have with the peppercorn sauce and was delighted this was possible. Staff asked if I would like cutlery and napkins. Personally feel this is a given but appreciate may want to reduce waste. 🍸Leith gin with elderflower tonic. Overall tasty 😋

***Edit*** Having reviewed this establishment with an honest account of what happened on the evening of 21 November 2025, the owner, who is obviously the problem, decided to ‘call me out’ by saying “It’s disappointing that you target staff with such harsh and hurtful language”?? What part of my review was ‘harsh or hurtful’? It was an honest review of really bad service from staff who were unprofessional and rude. That is obviously the fault of the management/owner! My message to the owner is ‘you reap what you sow’. I’m pretty sure you have CCT of the bar area? Have a good look at how your bar staff treat ‘customers’…. My message to the public is, spend your money in an establishment which respects your custom. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:- Nice looking place but the staff were absolutely dreadful. One guy served 2 separate people next to us despite the fact that on both occasions the people arrived after us. The bartender couldn’t crack a smile!!! The worst was a youngish girl who basically floated up and down the length of the bar while totally ignoring us despite the fact that I had raised me hand slightly to get her attention. She then pretended to look for something in the fridge. She couldn’t have made it more obvious she didn’t want to serve us. We left without having any drinks. Honestly the staff were dreadful. We will never go back and I would advise you to spend your money elsewhere. For context, I used to frequent this bar years ago when it had atmosphere and friendly bar staff.

The new format will not last. We were 1 of 3-4 tables eating. Ordered at 18:35, from a simple, reduced menu. One of us ordered 3 sides, 3 pizzas and a regular nachos with extra bacon bits please. All to come at the same time. Given that, at home, a pizza takes 15mins to prep and cook, we thought, great this should be good. A fishcake and 1 pizza came after about 35 mins. Over the course of the next 10 mins, 2 pizzas and a plate of PLAIN nachos with bacon bits sprinkled over them arrived. We had to ask again for the other 2 sides. We then had to get the nachos exchanged for their basic option which included salsa and guacamole but they brought two little dishes of each instead of taking the plain nachos away. We explained again, we want a regular nachos inclusive of cheese, guacamole and salsa etc with extra bacon bits. 10 mins went by and it still didn't arrive so we cancelled that order. This was a severe lack of any kind of restaurant service. Not once did we see any kind of management. The poor waiter, Patrick, really didn't have a clue or care and just kept frantically apologising. The quality of the food wasn't gratifying either as the pizzas were doughy with hard, overcooked crusts. Oh and the other sides did come but alas, sweet potato fries had clearly been in the microwave or left too long under the light as they came out in a small dish all soggy and then 10 mins after that the anaemic potato wedges were brought to the table by a waiter who looked like he'd just come from he gym in a black vest and his long hair tied up in a very loose man bun - hardly hygienic. Given that this was a birthday meal and supposed to be a special occasion, it was an overall, 75 mins of complete disappointment. Will not be back. They did give a discount to the bill (too quickly which made us think we were not the first to complain) but in no way does that make up for such a shoddy evening. Two of our party are ex Maitre D's and one works in Virgin Hotels so we are quite qualified to assess this dreadful experience. The CC Blooms we used to know and love is gone. Welcome to poor pre-theatre dining.

The food I got was the 3 small plates deal, 1 haggis bons bons and 2 salt and chilli chickens. Honestly the bon bons are very small and they came with a spicy bbq sauce which was quite a strange pairing, so I got a peppercorn sauce which was much nicer. They should make that the standard honestly. In regard to the chicken, I think they would be much nicer as southern fried chicken wings rather than bbq wings.

Friday night 6/27/2025 Friendly service, nice selection of beers, great DJ! Stop by for a pint or two or twenty. Thank you to the owners who created this space!

This was my first time back since the renovation, and I was really impressed! The place looks great, but what stood out most was the warm welcome I received. Robert (security) was so polite, his friendly “hello, how are you?” truly made me feel welcomed and set the tone for a great visit. Will be back.

I have never been so humiliated in my life. I tried to enter CC’s tonight after my company Christmas night out to join my friends, and my entry was DENIED by the security guard without him giving me any explanation whatsoever, and without even asking for the ID that I had in my hand. It is humiliating to be refused entry to a place I regularly attend, especially when I was neither drunk nor on drugs (which I don’t use at all), and to be dismissed with a pathetic “not today, try another night.” Completely unprofessional, totally unprepared, and with absolutely no sense of basic customer service. I felt humiliated having to walk away while my friends were inside enjoying their night. The very least I expected was a justification — but it was crystal clear he simply didn’t like the look of me, perhaps because I’m Latino. An absolute disgrace for a venue that claims to stand for s
