Awesome 😁 I just purchased a bike with a broken downshifter, and Jeff was very patient and kind in explaining the full suite of solutions to consider. He started with the most basic, affordable one. I appreciate that he also helped adjust my brakes, pump my tires, etc. all in a day’s turnaround and explained how to operate my road bike, to which I’m new. A great, friendly local shop!

So I had a flat on a lectric bike. I dipped it off Friday night. By Saturday, they had located an appropriate tube and stayed open for me to pick up later Saturday, at an affordable price. Unfortunately, it appears that the bead on my tire was shot, and it promptly went flat and popped off the rim. Again I attempted to drop the bike off Friday night. BUT wait. He decided to fix it immediately. He pulled out a used tire in excellent shape and put it, and a new tube in the bike right away, with only a minimal charge for the tire. Definitely a plus for the neighborhood. Excellent service and price.

Came in to service my bike. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They had the obscure part I needed and installed the same day. Pricing was also very reasonable. This is a gem of a bike local bike shop!

Before I get to the bike, I have to start with customer service: TOP TIER! And I mean that not just for a bike shop, but IN GENERAL. Both Fox and Jeff were super knowledgable, gave me detailed answers (as much as you would EXPECT your doctor to give you), and were super friendly. I just bought my first bike (used, but a beauty) and brought it in to get it checked out and diagnosed of any problems and Jeff did an amazing job. He gave me great estimates, details, the nine yards. Didn't skip out on information, didn't rush through, or pressure. Came back later to drop it off for some tuning and replacing parts, and Fox was amazing with giving me a detailed understanding of what was going on, what needed to happen, prices, etc. in addition to Jeff's! And I appreciate them both for being INCREDIBLY patient as I asked a ton of questions in and over the phone. Can't wait to see my bike when it's done! I move a lot in NYC between Brooklyn and the city, so no matter where I go, I plan on ONLY coming here! Don't even question it, just go to CC Cyclery. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it. (I may also have the names reversed, I suck with names. So if you guys are reading this, my bad LOL!)

I am currently in the process of getting a bike through CC Cyclery and so far it's been an amazing experience. This is my first time buying a new bike and my budget isn't too high. Even though I lack bike knowledge, Jeff the owner was super understanding and willing to help me. I told Jeff what I was looking for and what my low budget was. Even though I was not willing to spend over a thousand dollars he was still excited to help me and seemed passionate about the hobby and welcoming to new riders. That's what stood out to me, I felt really welcomed into the biking community. I highly recommend this place for both experienced and inexperienced riders, it's a shop for everyone.

Quality bike shop all around! After coming to terms that my aging single speed is not going to fix itself, I finally seeked out help and had my chain replaced. I've had this bike since the Sandy Storm, so it was long overdue. They put on a new chain and even trued up my bike tire for free, it needed it! (I did take a number or years off from bike commuting, to be fair) Realizing that I am relying on my workhorse of a bike more, I'm slowly catching up on the overdue issues such as brake pads, new cables and so on. Basically tuning it all up from here on out. As a single speed, not a lot can go wrong with this bike and that's the beauty of it. Today they added a rack to the back so I can use panniers. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, the prices are very fair and the turnaround is fast. I come here and learn something new every single time, about cycling or my own particular road model. It's a true gem of a shop.

Incredible customer service with no BS! As someone with intermediate knowledge of bike maintenance, this place is is exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 32 year old bike that I'm fixing up, so I brought it in for a basic diagnosis and adjustment. I left with a solid picture of everything that I need to work on going forward. Their rates are super reasonable, and they took the time to explain bike maintenance concepts to me in an understandable way that I can apply later myself. They're not afraid to tell you how to do something yourself at home. Fritz and Catherine are both super nice, knowledgeable about their craft, and great to work with. Can't wait to come back here more!

I have quite a few bikestores to choose from in the East Village but this is my go to for many reasons. I bought a bike for the first time in my life. They adjusted my seat, installed a basket and a bell, fitted my helmet, put air in my tires, gave me lotsa tips. Fritz, Jeff and Rufus,the cat are super friendly and knows what true customer service is about. I went in there today again and the young lady (didn't catch her name) who helped me with the air pump was so nice too! No other bikestore for me!

Stopped by through a recommendation from a friend. Needed my rear derailleur fixed and a badly needed tune up. Told Jeff I came in from Queens and he empathized quickly. Got a call back in less than two hours and my bike was running and shifting like smooth butter. Price was super affordable as well. Definitely worth the ride into the city to come here

Best Bike Shop below 14st, probably in manhattan in general. Attitude - you dont give none, you wont get none. They are laid back, extremely knowledgable and professional. Never pretentious and will take the time to explain things to you about your ride. They work on everything except E bikes (FOH with and Ebike you cheater). From small stuff like tube / tire replacements to wheel truing, full tune ups , even frame straightening! They really do it all. Its a real shop, not a 'store' . A great local shop that you should 100% support.

Despite there being many bike shops in the East Village, this is absolutely my favorite. Not only do they have impeccable services and the ability to assess issues that go above and beyond most stores, the owner is fantastic and his brand of frame rides like beaut. Lastly, they probably have the best prices for services like tunes up, etc. in the East Village. CC Cyclery never fails to impress, keep it up!

Not a yelper but had to praise this place. Been 2 or 3 times and every time they are super kind and generous with their time and knowledge. Had my back wheel stolen this last time ... came in and they told me they were out of stock of a cheaper wheel and said they totally understood if I wanted to go elsewhere. Turned out I was going out of town the next day for a week, so came back a week later and they sold me a pristine used wheel. They fixed up my bike in about a half hour and I was on my way. Best part, honestly, was shooting the shit with the guys at the shop while they fixed me up. Great shop, great attitude, great guys working hard. Local gem worth supporting!

Laid back, great professional cycling services. Check your attitude at the front door and these guys will make miracles for you. People come from all over Manhattan to service their bikes here.

They were absolutely fantastic. They managed to take a bike that had been forgotten in the back of a garage for who knows how many years and get it Triathlon ready in 40 minutes for less than 50 bucks. They clearly know everything there is to know about bikes and are happy to teach without a hint of showing off. Wish all my consumer experiences could be like this. Helped my cyclist friends twice this week - before and after an 160 mile ride through the Hudson Valley. Great balance of down-to-earth attitude, encyclopedic knowledge, and decent service/used bike prices. As a West-sider, I may now bypass multiple bike shops to come to East Village to get my services here. Thanks, guys!!

Brought my bike here to have a new tube installed. After the new tube failed, they not only replaced it free of charge but explained the reason for my spate of flat tires (it was a defect with the rim) and spent time to re-tape the rim to prevent future flats... at no cost to me. Very honest, knowledgeable, great service.

This is the best place in the city to bring your bike for repairs. I have not purchased any products there, but the repair work is simply the tops. That is unless you don't like paying a fair price for excellent service. I have brought my bike in for a wheel truing and the tech (Jeff I believe) adjusted the axle while the wheel was off and made a slight tweak on the brakes as well at no additional charge. NO BS here. Old-school East Village style work done the right way. Extremely knowledgeable and straightforward. Again, prices are fair! That is a huge plus in NYC. I would pay these guys more if they charged me. Seriously!

I got a bike here a few months ago. They were patient, honest, and helpful. Walked out with a new bike feeling I had made a good investment and perhaps even made a friend in the neighborhood. I've had to go back to get some air, or to fix a flat tire, and they've always been as helpful as it gets. During my time picking a bike or fixing my tires, tons of people dropped by to get air or ask for quick repairs. It is clearly a place that people trust. By all means, give them a shot!

Walked into a warm welcoming place from a couple of old school bike messager guys where there are no stupid questions... just smart-ass answers. Knowledgeable, straight forward and will not try to rob you blind at any opportunity. That, my friends is rare in this city. From bike repair, maintenance to full on bike builds these guys do it all. I came in with a cracked rim with a flat tire on my way to work and they quickly dropped what they were doing and got me out the door in less than 30 min. Also, summer is around the corner and they are able to efficiently get my bike that has been stored all winter back on the road in no time.. So stop by and say hi for me and don't for get to tip your mechanic with a cold frosty beverage! Your Welcome!

Stopped by this morning for some help setting up a new wheelset, and to get some maintenance done on a another set. Jeff took me right away and I was out in about 10-15 minutes. Super friendly, super knowledgeable, great prices, and cutie pie animals, too!

This place is absolutely fantastic! These guys, Jeff and Fritz along with the staff couldn't be more knowledgable about bikes and the world of facts that come along with bikes. And if your lucky you can buy one of their very own Continum Cycles. It would be your lucky lucky day if you do!

Trust the numerous five-star reviews: The guys who run this place are extremely helpful and fast. Most unusually, they actually *under*sold me: I had too many flats, and the guy I talked to pointed out that the tires shipped with my bike aren't very good. Bike tires apparently run for between $35 and $65 per tire, but the person I talked to found $50 ones that are less susceptible to flats. The Danny's Cycles on 1st Avenue and 14th Street recently closed. CC Cyclery is the right place to go instead.

These guys are the best. Not only is the work great and dependable, but they're fun to hang and talk with about pretty much anything you can think of to talk about. The kicker is that their prices are great. They won't screw you over with labor costs and will also look for the least pricey but dependable solution to what ever your bike problem is.

This place is around the corner from me but I never went in until I blew a tire on my way home. When I asked for an inner tube the guy there told me I had to buy two. Seemed like a way to chisel a little more money out of me because I was in distress so I passed. Or maybe he didn't want to interrupt his chat to help a customer. Either way I won't be back. Was able to get the same tube delivered overnight so I guess I'll keep a couple at home and not worry about local shops.

It's no wonder why this place gets five stars. I took my 1980s Miyata into their shop to get new handlebar tape and I gotta say, if I did it myself, I wouldn't have gotten it as close to perfect as they did. Beautiful. Boy, do they take care of your bike. They won't stop until everything is perfect.

You can go anywhere in the city to get your bike fixed but there's only one Jeff. Thanks for giving my bike the tlc it needs. He really put effort into making my bike the best it can be and now it rides like a gem in these city streets. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my bike repaired.

Excellent customer service. My bike issue was quickly diagnosed and fixed in under 30 minutes. Better yet, the mechanic noticed some other pieces were loose and tightened them free of charge. Very friendly and knowledgable employees. Fair prices. A true gem in the neighborhood. Only request would be earlier opening hours on the weekend.

Trust the reviews, the people at CC Cyclery are amazing. I bought an old roadbike off of craigslist and they helped me get it into shape. I know almost nothing about bikes, but they walked me through the necessary adjustments without being patronizing about it. No BS with these guys -- just expertise and great service.

This shop is owned by old school bike messengers who are honest, super friendly, and really know their stuff. I myself am a bike messenger and I frequently run into problems that I can't fix on my own. Whenever I bring my bike in, they always make sure to tell me exactly what the problem is and how they're going to repair it. They also throw in a few useful tips that come in handy for being on the road all day. Aside from that, they make sure to get me back on the road as soon as possible.

I've had additional bike repair needs as well as replacing a stolen seat and such and, again, these folks are great.

Jeff and Fritz were the most knowledgeable about bikes of any of the shops i've ever visited in New York. They know their components down to the year and model back to the 50s for every imaginable brand and make of bicycles. They're sort of like living, talking, versions of the sheldon brown website (Bicycle encyclopedia). Their price is not going to be dirt cheap, but it's definitely more than reasonable, and lower than many of the shops in the area who would charge much more for the same amount of work. They do this because they love bikes, and it almost feels like they're not trying to make money off of you. If you like, or better, are obsessed with bikes (esp vintage ones), this is the place for you.

One owner--the pompous short one with a beard--is a thief. Put a too small tube in my tire and it blew before I even put it on the bike. $20. His partner offered to cancel the charge on my card. Brought it in and this one was nasty,cross examined me, refused to refund because he said I was 'harsh'. If they cheat you on something small they'll rob you on something big. Everyone else in the place is cool, but this one who says he is the owner is a thief.

My Favorite Bike Store! Jeff and his staff are very friendly. They turned my vintage cranky Raleigh bike into a modern and light bike and its a beautiful work. They work fast and I never had to wait.

I love this place. Every time I have an issue with my bike they always help me out. The prices are very fair and the staff is so knowledgeable and nice.

Awesome and friendly! I ordered my bike online and had it assembled here. Prices were extremely reasonable. My bike ended up having a flat tire a few days later, so I brought it back to the team. They thoroughly inspected my inner tube, and just decided to give me a new one free of charge. Would definitely recommend.

The guys here are really helpful and honest. I brought in my bike to be assembled and they were very well informed and explained to me the benefits and differences between each bike assembly option. Definitely going back if I have need to fix anything with my bike.

So thankful to have Jeff & team around the corner. No judgement, no BS, no upselling....Just friendly, thoughtful people doing solid work at a fair price. YAY!

I came here because of the good reviews and I was delighted to receive good service. I had a busted bent front wheel because of a crash with a wrong way mini moped rider. I think it was Jeff who sorted me out. He put a nice new wheel, saved the tire, straightened the torqued handlebars adjusted the fork. Listened to my concerns about quick release theft in NYC and sold me a wheel with some other kind of hub. Answered my questions. I'm not a bike person by which I mean I don't wear the queer italian hats or clip my feet into the pedals and I don't carry a massive waterproof bag and go brakeless I'm just an ordinary working class NYC bike riding queer artist, so I have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to extra snooty cyclist shops. These dudes were all right by me. Also the other dude in the shop turned out some awesome biker mechanic costume changes that made my style senses sing. Five stars!

I love this place! So glad they're open again. I've brought in newer bikes and vintage bikes--whatever it is, the work is always top-notch, and the cost very reasonable. The shop cares about customers and it shows. Really good bike shops are hard to come by and I can't recommend this one highly enough.

Easily my favorite bike shop in Manhattan.
