Yelp
I was having lunch in Fashion Island yesterday at Hododdys and I searched Yelp for any new cigar stores in the area. Low and behold CDM Cigars showed up with stellar reviews so I had to check it out. The store is tucked away on a side street, Poinsettia, but I was able to find a parking spot on PCH, not always an easy thing to do, especially on the weekend, so I felt like I had won the Lotto. I walked into the store and I literally walked into their humidor! The entire store is set up at 72% RH.
Their selection of cigars is pretty impressive, even though they are still waiting for other inventory to arrive from their vendors. If you're a Pete Johnson fan, you'll be in heaven as they carry a good selection of his sticks, including Tatuaje. You won't find any low budget smokes here, but their are plenty of great quality cigars in the $10-$20 range.
Ted and Antoine are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about cigars and they will make you feel welcome. They have a limited selection of lighters, cutters and butane, but you come here for the cigars.
Oh, and if you're looking for cigarettes or a hookah, please look somewhere else.
The only bummer, as another reviewer pointed out, this is only a store, and not a lounge, so you can't hang around and enjoy your stick while watching sports or chatting with fellow cigar smokers. However, they mentioned that Gulfstream restaurant has a cigar friendly patio, so you can enjoy a drink and food, as you light up a Tatuaje Verocu!
Fellow Yelpers, and cigar lovers, if you're in the area, please support these guys.
Good luck, Ted and Antoine.
