23 Best Bars in Barcelona

"Although Cecconi's is technically a Soho House property, you don’t need to be a member to drink or dine here—which is great news if you're looking for a place to post up for a few hours and answer emails with a cocktail in hand; sip a Negroni or a Fennel Martini while you settle in. The menu features some excellent aperitivi, including a great Sbagliato and delightful riffs on the Americano and the spritz. There's also an intriguing Bloody Mary available during weekend brunch, and a full menu available at the bar; the Italian food here is some of the best you’ll find in Barcelona." - Isabelle Kliger, Naren Young

Cecconi's - Restaurant Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"First impression? Cecconi's is a stunning restaurant with tons of natural light and a gorgeous bar flanked by ridiculously oversized bar stools. Although this is a Soho House property, you don’t need to be a member to dine here. Cool. So who’s there? There's a mixed bag—you'll definitely hear all manner of accents peppering the room. There are locals, international Barcelona residents, tourists, the occasional celebrity. Some are having a leisurely lunch, others are taking meetings. If you’ve been to any Soho House, anywhere in the world, however, you know this is the norm. How are the drinks? The small cocktail menu offers some excellent aperitivi, including a great Sbagliato and delightful riffs on the Americano and the spritz. There's also an intriguing Bloody Mary available during weekend brunch. Worth ordering something to eat, too? Cecconi's full menu available at the bar, and the Italian food here is some of the best you’ll find in Barcelona. Get the fried olives with a Negroni while you settle in and review the restaurant's vast offerings. The Sunday “Feast” brunch buffet is a decadent spread of Italian delicacies from fresh oysters to lasagne, cheese and cold cuts, freshly cooked meat and fish dishes and enough dessert options to make your head spin. Did the staff do you right? Dressed in classic Italian bartender jackets, the staff is attentive, friendly, and well-informed. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? This is a wonderful place to post up for a few hours, get some work done, have a nice cocktail, and keep to yourself—a rarity in Barcelona bar culture." - Naren Young

Sunday brunch at Cecconi’s in Barcelona was a truly delightful experience. Nestled in the elegant Soho House, the setting is stylish yet relaxed—ideal for a slow, indulgent afternoon. The buffet was beautifully arranged with a wide variety of fresh, flavorful dishes. I tried their wood-fired pizza, perfectly cooked shrimp, a colorful selection of salads, and several other delicious bites. Everything tasted vibrant and well-prepared, reflecting the quality ingredients and careful execution. The dessert selection was equally impressive—decadent, well-balanced, and presented with flair. Each sweet treat felt like it had been crafted with intention, not just added for show. I ordered a cocktail that didn’t quite suit my taste, and when I mentioned it to the waiter, he kindly removed it from the bill. That gesture of kindness and attentiveness really stood out—it’s rare and deeply appreciated. The restaurant was about half full, which created a calm and pleasant vibe, perfect for a Sunday afternoon. The service was polished and friendly without being overbearing, and overall, the whole experience felt special without trying too hard. ✨ Final thoughts: Cecconi’s Sunday brunch is a charming blend of great food, gracious service, and a refined yet unpretentious atmosphere. A lovely way to spend a relaxed afternoon in Barcelona.

This was hands down the best Italian restaurant we’ve been to in Barcelona. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The ambiance was charming and authentic, perfectly reflecting the spirit of Italy, and the food… absolutely incredible. Every dish we ordered tasted fresh, flavorful, and truly Italian — from the handmade pastas to the rich sauces and perfectly balanced desserts, it was clear that the kitchen takes great pride in its craft. We were celebrating a special occasion — my brother’s graduation and birthday — and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. They were incredibly accommodating, attentive to every detail, and even helped us coordinate a surprise celebration for him. It meant so much to us to feel so welcomed and supported during such a meaningful night. A very special thank you goes to Alberto, the manager, who was outstanding throughout the entire experience. He personally made sure everything went smoothly, and his kindness and professionalism truly elevated the evening. He treated us like family, and that made all the difference. This place is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Whether you’re visiting Barcelona or living here, this is a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates genuine Italian cuisine and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know. 10/10 without a doubt!

Google
Mediocre dining experience. We ordered Calamari for starter, salami pizza, linguine and veal chop milanese for main with a bottle of wine. Fried food like Calamari and Milanese is cooked perfectly. However, the pasta is over-seasoned and quite salty, it is also a bit undercooked, it doesn't go well with the seafood and sauce but kind of acceptable. The pizza is a big disappointment, when it is served, it got fairly cool down. And the are excessive oil making the center of the pizza very soggy and oily. Didn't expect a high-end restaurant would have this kind of mistake. Service-wise, the waiters are polite but pushy, that would recommend some really expensive wine even it does not fit our main, putting the profit over the experience, will also have some underhand tactic to leave a bottle of opened water on your table without asking and the wine serving is a bit clumsy. Overall, it is not a bad experience, but with the price tag like this, the service and food should be better. Would recommend the dish that is fried but need to avoid pasta and pizza, which should be the bread and butter for an Italian restaurant.

Google
this place is interesting - it’s very fancy and I liked it, but I wouldn’t recommend to vegetarians and I’m not rushing to come back. The zucchini frittered were so good, we ordered two. My weakness. The potatoes were good but nothing to write home about. The cacio e pepe was great. If you come here, get the profiteroles. but I don’t think the pumpkin ravioli was executed well.

A truly amazing Italian spot—very high-end with a luxurious feel, excellent service, and authentic Italian vibes. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended!

Google
We were a group of 9 and I asked everyone to rate Cecconi’s - our average was 3.33. The vibe and interior are absolutely beautiful and definitely elevated the experience/rating. But the food just didn’t live up to expectations. There wasn’t a single “wow” dish, and the pastas were off - which shouldn’t happen at an Italian restuarant. The review might sound harsh, but being located in Soho House sets a high standard, and I’ve had much better food experiences at other Soho House restaurants. I’ve heard the Sunday brunch buffet is great though, but haven’t tried it yet!

Google
We had an amazing dining experience at Cecconi. We didn’t book a table and the restaurant was full but managed to sit at the bar for the two of us. The food was incredible - top Italian food. The service was impeccable from the start, our orders were taken quite quickly and food soon arrived. We were served by the bartender and just wanted to say he was really attentive and always quick to notice what we needed. The pizzas come in two sizes which is really helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by the portion size as even the small sized pizzas were quite large. The dessert was also very good and nicely presented. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic - well decorated and nicely touches in the detail. We’ll definitely come back another time.

Yelp
Service: excellent Food: the agnolotti del plin with black truffle was amazing. The veal chop Milanese was just okay - it lacked a lot of flavor. I also loved the inside of this restaurant. We walked in on a Saturday around 8pm without reservations and were able to be seated right away.

Yelp
Two visits - should have learned my lesson the first time, but the people are so nice, the atmosphere so good, I thought the food the first time must have been an aberration. Not so, unfortunately. The kitchen needs a lot of work to keep up with the front of the house. Solo business traveler staying very close by. Fortunately bar seating is first come first serve, because the place gets very busy. Such pleasant service. Friendly and attentive. I got the meatball appetizer and bolognese entree. The meatballs were quite dense. Not very pleasant. Almost like something frozen, although I highly doubt that is the case. Just not so good imo. Might have been ok except for the entree pasta, which was woefully undercooked. I'm not taking al dente - I mean chewy pasta. Something you never want to have. The dessert apple tart was wonderful. Now...you must be wondering why go to the same spot, especially with so many great places in Barcelona. Well, like I said the service was great, the atmosphere pleasant, and it was 5 minutes from my hotel. Plus with business travel you just want to get a meal and be done sometimes. So I tried it again. Ugh. Wish I hadn't! Got a Prosciutto pizza with rocket and the veal chop Milanese. Prosciutto was tough and the pizza overall bland. The veal was awful. Tough and no flavor. Kicking myself for coming here again. Three stars only for service, which was great not times. Very nice atmosphere, and you can get a seat first come first serve at the bar. Food alone would be a one or two. Disappointing.

Yelp
After spending several nights in Spain, we were craving something other than the traditional Spanish style tapas so we stumbled into this lovely restaurant with great reviews. The reviews didn't disappoint! We were seated on time to our reservation but at a super low table and my husband and I are both 5'10 and taller, we asked to move to a taller table and they were very accommodating seating us in a nice, cozy booth in the back. We started with calamari that was delicious and moved to our entrees of Agnolotti del plin, black truffle and Paccheri, prawns, asparagus, saffron. Both were delicious. The paccheri is very mild in spice for what I was expecting but asked for crushed red pepper that added the spice I needed. We finished with espresso and apple pie and it was phenomenal! Also, the bread and olive oil were incredible. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a break from traditional Spanish food for a night.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely lunch at Cecconi's. The atmosphere is upscale casual and they have a nice bar. The service was FANTASTIC! The waiter was so knowledgeable and did an excellent job of pacing the meal. He was attentive but not overly so. I enjoyed my meal very very much. I had the cold tomato soup and the cacio e pepe both of which were delicious. They had a brunch menu that included a welcome drink which could be fun to try sometime!

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. The restaurant s beautiful. Love the open kitchen concept. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This lovely restaurant located on the water front of Barcelona was walking distance from my hotel. I was in the mood for Italian food so my mother and I gave it a try. The staff was kind, and very attentive. The red wine we ordered was slightly chilled, which was unusual for us. However, the sommelier clearly knew about the wines since it was chilled to the perfect temperature for that wine and helped improve the taste. The beef tartar was good, but not the best I have ever had, it did not pull apart easy when I was biting into it, therefore it was making a mess and dropping off my toast. The white truffle they claimed to put on top was more of a cheese with a truffle flavoring. We ended up seasoning it with salt and pepper which helped elevate it. The bolognese was robust and I could tell it was a dish that they had cooked ahead as the sauce had wonderful flavor. The pasta itself was Al dente. My mother ordered chicken paillard, which is traditionally breaded. My mothers came grilled, different. But still good. The seating was incredibly comfortable with couches and booths throughout the restaurant. The old bar in the center of the restaurant was so beautiful and visually appealing. I loved being able to watch the chefs cook as well.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Service is outstanding, friendly, informative, but never rushed or too much. Food is every bit as good. Truffle in many dishes and from ricotta starter to the truffle pizza, everything was delicious and I mean delicious!. We were in town for business and ended up coming back a second night because it was the standout from all the other high end restaurants we visited. Go, you won't regret it!!

Yelp
We ate there last evening after finding it on Yelp. We had no reservations (although many did). This was one of the best meals we've ever had....while traveling or at home. Service was exceptional, and food also! Prices were very fair for the food. We both had Dover sole as our main but also tried the onion soup, zucchini friiti and whipped ricotta as starters. Chef's kiss to all. Lovely venue as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Atmosphere is amazing, very lively, there's an open kitchen. The restaurant is super kid friendly, service is great. Meals are tasty, and are very well made. Superb mocktail selection. Must have rigatoni. If you're looking for a reliably solid meal, Cecconi's is the place!!

Yelp
We were looking for something different and our hotel concierge sent us to this hotel restaurant down by the waterfront serving authentic northern Italian cuisine. It's got a great atmosphere with a beautiful black and white tile floor and small palm trees throughout. Our waiter, Pablo, did an excellent job taking care of us during dinner. We started with an appetizer of Tuscan meatballs followed by two of the small size pizza-one margarita and the other with buratta, rocket (arugula) and prosciutto that came out piping hot fresh from the wood burning oven-really great. To top things off we had the profiteroles that were as good as any we've had in Italy and of course a little limoncello to settle everything. They have a decent wine list of Italian and Spanish wines too. Top notch!

Yelp
This is a great place for Italian food. I came for lunch and was seated in the front area. I don't know whether you need to take at least two courses before they seat you in the nice back area with glass roof (and next to open kitchen). The waiters are all nice and attentive and the whole atmosphere is very chill. As I wasn't that hungry I took the Pappardelle with Salsicce (an Italian pork sausage), mushrooms and artichokes. The dish was a pleasure to eat. The pasta was al dente and the sauce so good I used the complimentary bread to spoon all up. To finish I took lemon meringue pie which I accompanied with a glass of Vin Santo (dessert wine). The pie was gone in a couple of minutes. A great finish to this lunch. All in all I spent 38€ for the lunch a glass of red wine and a small bottle of mineral water included.

Yelp
This is the first time I have visited a "Ceconni's'' restaurant outside of the U.S back home in Los Angeles we have one in West Hollywood that is amazing! So of course the expectation was high when I decided to dine at the Barcelona location. (It's BETTER) The staff, waiters and bar men are very nice and helpful with suggestions on what to eat and drink if you are not sure about what you have a taste for. They speak good English too... I'm fluent in Spanish but if language is an issue for you don't worry. Over all the food is wonderful! The drinks are okay! I think they have a wonderful wine list and an amazing Brunch on the weekends that is only 40 for AYCE (All you can eat) I would like to try. I got to see the buffet while I was there!!! UNBELIEVABLE! The pricing of the plates are wonderful! You would expect it to be more being that it's a chic location In a popular area in the city right under The Soho House! Since I've been in Barcelona I've been here like 4 times already! Lol the Vibe is great! If you love fine dining with friends/family or Bae and want a nice ambience put Cecconi's at the TOP OF YOUR LIST!

Yelp
This was recommended by a friend and it was amazing. The food was great, the cocktails were on point! The customer service was excellent. Not to mention the ambiance was cozy and classy! Loved it all and it topped off my last night in Spain!

Yelp
Food: So good. Everything. Spaghetti with lobster. Agnolotti with truffles. Pizza with truffles. Yellow tail carpaccio. Service: excellent. Atmosphere: white linen tablecloths. High end. Classy. Not stuffy.

Yelp
I love Cecconis! So much so that we came for dinners twice during our last Barcelona trip. The food is delicious, the restaurant is beautiful, the patrons are stylish, the servers were so attentive. What more can one ask for? Try the lobster pasta. It was truly truly amazing! It is cooked a firm al dente so there is a nice chewy bite. The rich tomato sauce is succulent and the lobster is meaty and sweet. I think it's one of the best pasta dishes ever! Tuna Gem Salad was a great accompaniment to my pasta. It was crunchy, fresh, and everything you would want in a salad. Do not miss Cecconis. It would be my first dinner on my next Barcelona trip..
google avatar

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing!! The food was out of this world good, from the burrata , to the risotto and especially the pizza it was so good. The service was also phenomenal which can't be said for everywhere in Spain but here everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a food experience and enjoyed our food. If you're in barcelona and looking for a break from the paella this is a must. Make a reservation though!!

Yelp
Cecceoni's I think this is a beautiful establishment. It's right next to the SoHo house so you always get to see beautiful people go in and out of there. We had a group of 8 total for dinner and our table was already set up and ready upon arrival. One of the reason I love living in Barcelona are the cheap wine prices. A bottle of rosé for 18€. Sure why not?!? We ended up getting 3 bottles. Our server was on top of it and kept our glass filled when running low. Here's what we ordered. I wasn't able to take pictures of all the dishes because the group dove right in - we were hungry! Fried olives - must order! To my surprise, they were delicious. Meatballs - I believe 5 pieces - good. Just needed a little bit of salt Calamari - good crisp Burrata - LOVE the burrata! Beef tar tar - amazing. Be sure to pour the quail egg in and mix it well Yellowtail crudo - perfect amount of acidity Black truffle pizza - yes please!! Malloreddus with clams - this entree was so a huge disappointment. It was an appetizer size. The pasta bits were tiny. The clams were the size of my fingernail and full of sand!! Dessert - they had a special - ricotta cheesecake with blueberry sauce. Amazing

Yelp
Occasionally you need to indulge when you're in Barca and the infamous Sunday buffet at Cecconi's will do you just fine in that regard. Pork, pasta shrimp, seafood, meats, cheeses... I'm not going to list out every item at the buffet, but you get the point, there are a lot of quality eats here. The best part is that even though you're stuffing your face, the service is still relaxed and prompt. They'll clean your plate, bring you more wine and not give you the evil eye as you go up for a 4th plate of shrimp (I like shrimp, OK?). With large, bright windows and a classic setting, Cecconi's was an excellent spot to spend an afternoon. Bonus: it's across from the water, so you can walk it off with some amazing views. Protip: make a reservation. Sad I missed out on a traditional dinner here, as I hear great things.

Yelp
Zero corners were cut when designing this space. Impossible not to fall in love with every detail. Food was amazing although I found it a tad too salty.... could just be personal problem.

Yelp
Barcelona is home to a classic Italian restaurant in a modern setting every day of the week. Cecconi's has several locations worldwide, and their renown Italian cuisine is delighting guests. The chef hand selects quality ingredients to make pasta from scratch, along with fresh caught seafood using traditional recipes from Northern Italy. My two friends and I met in the Gothic Quarter, and opted for lunch at Cecconi's. The restaurant design is beautiful, with traditional décor mixed with modern elements like elegant light fixtures and tiles along the floor. The service is impeccable, and every course was delivered hot and quick. All the starters we choose looked delicious, and the black truffle, zucchini flowers, goat cheese pizzetta was probably my favorite. We also ordered baked gnocchi Romana with gorgonzola cheese which had a hearty texture and a rich flavor, and the burrata, tomato, avocado, and pistachio salad was refreshing and delightful. Our main courses were promptly delivered when we finished our starters, and the orecchiette zucchini and ricotta salata I had was unique and flavorful. One of my friends raved about her chicken paillard, with zucchini, mint, and basil, while the other said his king prawns, tomato, onions and capers was delicious. For dessert, we ordered three different desserts, which we each shared. The profiteroles, pistachio gelato, and chocolate sauce were an excellent combination of sweet and rich. I thought the mint sorbet with strawberries and balsamic was sweet and tart, perfectly balanced. Though my favorite was the Cantucci, Amaretti, chocolate truffles, which were rich, velvety and delicious. The entire lunch was a pleasant experience and I'd highly recommend Cecconi's. The atmosphere was relaxed and we never felt rushed. Our food was great and hand-crafted and the quality of the ingredients are apparent every dish we tried. A must try!

Yelp
This place is amazing! If spending time in Barcelona, this place is a must. We had several amazing dishes, but my favorite was undoubtedly the truffle pizza.

Yelp
Lord have mercy. Cecconi's is darling. I popped in after a long day exploring the city, and it was exactly what I needed. Refreshing cocktails, carbs and plants. Plus, the Cowshed products from Soho House were a lovely touch. If at all possible, ask for a table in the atrium across from the kitchen. You'll have the best seat as a team of chefs expertly prepare your meal. I highly recommend the baked gnocchi, aubergine parmigiana, broccolini and agnolotti with black truffles. Two orders for the table, please!

Yelp
Bar review only - Stopped in for a little AC and a cocktail. Ended up staying for 2. Space is beautiful. English speaking staff. Will go back for dinner next time, looked awesome

Gina M.

Yelp
WOW. This was seriously some of the best Italian food I have ever had!!!! The decor was so beautiful and charming but the food was even better. The selection of bread they brought out before dinner was great. We started with the avocado hummus, small margarita pizza, and meatballs which were all phenomenal. Then for main courses we got the black truffle tortellini (A MUST TRY), garganelli bolognese and chicken paillard with broccolini & almond aioli on the side. we split everything and it was absolutely incredible. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake which was equally as great. The waiter could have been nicer but the food was so good it didn't even matter!! Will definitely go back next time I'm in Barcelona!

Yelp
Lobster pasta was delicious! Beautiful restaurant with great service. Felt very special

Yelp
Join some colleagues for dinner last night at Cecconi's. Beautiful restaurant near to the waterfront. They offer an extensive menu and wine list. Grilled pizza seem to be a big hit. We shared the burratta, calamari and meatballs. The seabass and mushroom risotto o seemed to be big hits. My real milanese was very good but not the best I've had. I would however definitely return next time in barcelona
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
What a happy surprise this was. We found ourselves standing outside the door of this restaurant having found our destination for lunch in the Barrio Gotico closed on Mondays, wondering if it was worth walking into what looked like a hotel lobby restaurant on this suddenly bustling main street by the waterfront, no longer the calm, quiet, atmospheric old part of town. After five minutes, and my son saying he could really go for pasta, we took a chance, and were so glad we did. The food was amazing and seemed to have a Catalan bent to it - at least in terms of inventiveness, freshness and pride of presentation. From the lamb ravioli to the monkfish to the veal milanese, everything was delicious. Nice, bright dining room. Seemed reasonably priced for the menu del dio at lunch. Definitely worth a visit if the menu calls to you.

Mark M.

Yelp
Awesome place to eat or just hang out at the bar. The Bartenders and very nice and extremely professional. The food is great and but the wine menu and drinks are fantastic. Really cool and will now try their location in South Beach.
google avatar

Damian F.

Yelp
I got some kind of ravioli with black truffle and it was DELICIOUS! Well prepared dishes!

Jon S.

Yelp
This is certainly the best food we've eaten in Spain during the past two weeks. We've enjoyed the local fare, but nothing has had the presentation, flavor, and satisfaction like Cecconi's. The gem salad was perfect, the white asparagus soup was delicious, the pizzetta had perfect crust we could taste the tomato sauce, the cheese and the basil independently. The homemade pasta ( ravioli and cavatelli) were delicious, and the service was excellent. Wouldn't miss it if dining in Barcelona!

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Except for the severe food poisoning, which ruined a large chunk of my trip, the staff was very friendly and it was pretty chic with a cool ambiance.

Mark L.

Yelp
Great restaurant, fantastic food. Got recommendation from US colleague. Everything was prepared perfectly, service wonderful.
