"The nine-cottage, cedar tree–shaded Cedar Crest Cottages can sleep 40 people total, making it a perfect place for a reunion of any kind. Located midlake, the family-owned and -operated property was established in 1933 and renovated in 2015. Each of the cottages, with one to four bedrooms, is named for a bird." - Alexandra Cheney

Our family of four recently spent 3 nights in the Woodpecker cottage at Cedar Crest. The Woodpecker cottage was perfect for a family of four. Cedar Crest is located on a quiet area of Lake Tahoe with beach access across the street. Cedar crest is just minutes away from Tahoe City We enjoyed exploring Lake Tahoe during the day and sitting by the fire pit in the evening. I highly recommend Cedar Crest Cottages when visiting Lake Tahoe.

We stayed at the wonderful Sparrow Cottage 1 in August 2022. Hubby and I stayed in the primary bedroom downstairs and each of our teenage kids brought a friend and stayed upstairs - two boys in one room and two girls in the other with a shared bathroom in between. If you have a similar situation, be sure to ask in advance to make sure those rooms' beds are split into twins, otherwise, they'll be pushed together as a king. ||The cottage is handsomely furnished and has everything you need for a week or a weekend - kitchen, washing machine and dryer, TV and a nice deck. The only bummer was that we were unable to use the BBQ grill on the deck - apparently the on-deck grill is not allowed anymore by the fire marshal. No matter, we used the kitchen to make our meals. ||The beach access is across the street. It's just a small little beach with gravelly rocks, we just walked up and down one evening, didn't really hang out there. The cottage is also on the main road, so it does get noisy with traffic. However, it is nice and quiet while sitting on the deck for a lovely morning coffee.||You do have to drive like, 10 minutes to Tahoe City for restaurants and such, but the cottage was so nice, we didn't mind just hanging out and eating in. It was a very lovely stay and I can imagine staying there in the winter, using the fireplace, and going to the Homewood ski area right next door. I highly recommend, any time of the year!||

We were excited to stay at the Cedar Crest Cottages for 2 days during our recent week long California trip. The evening before we were to drive from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe, The National Weather Service issued a Severe Winter Storm Warning. The warning spanned the entire period from our arrival to departure with up to 30 inches of snow expected, very hazardous road conditions and tire chain requirements. The warning included the strong recommendation not to travel and, if unavoidable, to keep flashlights and food in your vehicle in case of an emergency being stranded. We took this very seriously and decided it was not worth the risk. I called Natural Retreats to alert them of our decision and was told that someone from the local (Tahoe) office would contact me. The next morning (day of our expected arrival) I was startled by a call at 5:42 AM alerting me that there's no refund, sorry, nothing they can do. I was not surprised by this given the 11 PAGE CONTRACT that they made me sign months in advance. I didn't expect a full refund but did believe some discretion would be made given that it was impossible for me to get to their location. They ignored my request to consider even removing the $265 cleaning fee. I know, they have a contract, I should have bought insurance, etc. But since we did not enter the unit, a small token would have gone a long way. I am sure the place is beautiful, but be aware that the company is not easy to work with. Additionally, they have a 5:00pm check-in time (latest I recall ever seeing) with a strict 'no exceptions' notice on the contract. Combined that with a 10:00am check out. Aggressive on both ends in my opinion.

Summarized review: The reason I am giving this lovely hotel 3 stars overall is largely because of the wifi, and shower pressure/heat. The wifi was just, incredibly slow. And the shower pressure was very low. If that doesn't bother you, this could easily be a 4-5 star hotel. This hotel had incredible amenities, besides the wifi and lack of A/C. Pros: - The hotel buildings themself: they are lovely. Since the hotel "rooms" are more like little homes separated from each other, this makes for a potential romantic area, as well as a family area. - The amenities: the hotel provides cooking supplies, including a tea kettle, coffee maker, and range of tools even going as far as a potato peeler and ice cream scooper. - The wildlife: In my trip there may have been a lot of spiders spotted in the bedrooms, but outside the room we saw a bunny, and three mice. - Walkable distance to the lake - Laundry machines and Dishwasher - Fans to make up for no A/C. Cons: - No A/C. - No extra set of sheets incase you used the feature of the beds to split them into twins (in woodpecker) - For the lack of housekeeping, some kind of cleaning tool for the floor would help for longer term stays - As previously mentioned: the wifi. The wifi was so slow that I couldn't even connect my Nintendo Switch to it. This aspect is especially inconvenient considering the low network in the area. - No physical office to ask for assistance. - No bathtub (in woodpecker) - The shower pressure was very low, and the heating was not very strong either. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes. If you want to stay at Tahoe in a nice room that's not overly expensive, this is a great option. However, the cons mentioned could be a nasty inconvenience for some, and I think that if the hotel

Overall: Pretty nice, updated rooms. Wish a couple things such as the WiFi was more reliable, and an office on site to talk about issues. Pretty good value propositions for families or larger parties. Pros: The location is lovely, the stay we had was pretty nice. The advertised pictures matched our room fairly well. The beach was nice and super close walk away. The rooms were fairly clean and up to date. With all of the renovations that they had to have done, I am surprised they didn't install a/c. Cons: A couple of the light bulbs need replacing. The toaster was rusting. The wifi was by far my biggest con, the reliability is not good and when it does work the speed is very slow. "High Speed Internet" is a flat out lie, at some points I was getting 0.07 megabityes upload which is the worst internet I have seen. The water in the shower, took quite a while to actually get warm, when I first used it I questioned if the hot water worked at all. There is no office on site, you get a code to check in and a number to call if any issues happen. It would be nice to have someone on site to discuss issues with. My data connection on my phone was also quite spotty here so be aware when booking. A couple members of my party spotted some mice, and I had 5 spider spottings. My fan remote for my room didn't work, and one of the tv's didn't work seems like it was unplugged or non functional. If it was unplugged impossible to plug it back in without taking the entire tv off the wall.

The woodpecker cottage (a two-bedroom) was perfect for my husband, daughter, son-in-law and me for four wonderful, peaceful days of hiking in the Tahoe area in September. All the positive comments in other reviews are well-deserved. The rooms are stylish yet cozy and welcoming, and the landscaping around the cottages is exceptional. We all enjoyed preparing meals in the full size kitchen and eating together at the family-sized dining table. Every convenience is provided. Arriving after 10 days on the road, I especially appreciated the full-size washer and dryer. All the design details, from layout to furnishings, are well thought out. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely return to the Cedar Crest Cottages.

Google
We were stunned by this place. The entire area is beautiful, well kept, and truly a remarkable place to be. We spent our 10 year wedding anniversary here in cottage 2 and fell in love with the place. The hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful during the entire process and even through the concerns of the Mosquito fire that was on going. I am very glad I found cedar crest cottages, it will be a regular place for us now. The cottage was stunningly beautiful and clean. Amenities were well thought of and they provided coffee upon our arrival (bag of ground coffee). Definitely some of the best coffee I have ever had. I feel like I could write pages about this place on how amazing it was. It gets 10 stars out of 5.

Google
Another great stay at the Cedar Crest Cottages! I have been here a few times because it’s the best place to stay in Lake Tahoe if you want a luxurious and quiet time that you can plan at your leisure. The cottages are impeccably designed and decorated. To say very clean would be an understatement: They are spotless! You can cook great meals using the gourmet appliances and utensils or take out from the many places nearby. A scenic, easy bike path runs just in front of the cottages and you can jump in the lake to swim, paddle board or kayak from the small beach across the street. The staff is great, friendly and very helpful. A great place to spend a few days and go back to.

Yelp
If you're expecting what is posted on their website, you will be disappointed. We were a bit concerned upon our arrival as the place looked deserted. No host present at any time during our stay and no other guests (not counting the man who came and went at odd hours). The cottage could use some upkeep and a good cleaning...multiple lights burnt out, shower glass was extremely dirty, one wash cloth for two guests, soap dispensers all empty. One bedroom TV didn't work, dishwasher was hard to open due the bottom cabinet trim being out of place. On the second day I notified the management company that a bear had been through the property leaving debris scattered throughout. The reply was I'll come by tomorrow and clean it up. The debris was still there when we left two days later. On the second night we noticed a man arrive late and go into a cottage, he left early the next day. He arrived again around 11pm on the third night, blasting an air horn outside our bedroom window in an attempt to scare the bears (Mom and cub) away from his car. Again, I called the management company who stated no staff or guests other than us were present. No concern on their part, "What do you want me to do?". I got a lecture on bears even though I shared that I had owned a home in Tahoma for many years, I am very familiar with bear behavior. And although my car was damaged by the bears, the bears weren't the issue. I received a survey several days after returning home and recounted our experience and disappointment in what should have been a very pleasant stay. At the end of the survey I was prompted to request a call regarding my experience, responding yes. Never heard from anyone.

Yelp
Beautiful cottages On the lake front street of homewood Beautiful location Inside was fabulous , up to date With all directives for a delightful stay

Yelp
I've been there 6years ago, and this hidden gem has become less interesting and warm than before. Never saw anybody at the reception. There are only few people who handle cleaning, lighting firepit etc. When I've asked one of them how to check in, he was (probably) in a bad day but was very agressive to us. We felt instantly not welcome and it was a very bad beginning for our holidays. Lake Tahoe is still magical tho.

Tom N.

Yelp
BEWARE! We booked a room in July for a get-away in September. They immediately charged our credit card for the deposit. Fair enough. We then cancelled in plenty of time for a return of our deposit. They said that they could not refund our card but would send us a check. Several weeks went by and no check. We called and were told a check would go out that day (Sept 10). Still no check. We called yesterday (Sept 30) and were told that they would look into it and call me back. Still no call. I just now called and the answering machine picked up but I could not leave a message because the mailbox was full. Incompetence or something more sinister. I have no way of knowing and they seem to be unable or unwilling to even answer my question.

Yelp
We spend 5 days here over holiday weekend 2018 Woodpecker - Two Bedroom Located just above the fire pit Pro Reasonably priced beautiful Modern decor look band new condition Bedroom a king bed nice size Tv in each room Fully equipped kitchen including Myers cleaning supplies & extra towels large washers dryer with tide pods Tv and dvd easy to control Clear direction to EVERYTHING written on notes around the cottage Bathroom was heated and beautiful powerful shower Very close to squaw valley village 45 min from Heavenly Small porch with sitting area Min blinds for sun or shade Quite a good distance from neighbors but still in shouting distance lol website pictures are very accurate We had a wonderful experience here at Cedar Cottages . We were two couples. Celebrating an anniversary. We didn't come to ski . We did have snow so the parking lot does get icy . They lit the fire pit each evening we roasted marshmallows. We used the kitchen for breakfast & dinner which came with basic seasoning ice maker in freezer ! The bed are platform style. Have king beds cut the room size but nice to relax and watch a football game Con: the bed could have been softer but I'm picky that way. We had a great stay we plan to return in the summer

Yelp
This was our first time at Cedar Crest Cottages and hope to return again and again. They have such lovely grounds, super clean and well appointed rooms, great location and the friendliest service. If you are looking for somewhere that will allow you to unwind in the prettiest of settings , Cedar Crest is the place to go. Wish I was there now :)

Yelp
Another solid 5 star review! I'm not gonna state the obvious things u can find online but here are some extra nice things i noticed staying here. 1. Owner personal hand written thank u card 2. Soap dispensers are on the walls so you get more counter space 3. The house is warm no matter how freezing ass cold it is outside but yet u don't feel the vent. I don't know how it works and where the heat comes from but its comfortable and feels better than my house 4. Theres snow everywhere so u dont need to go anywhere to play snow 5. Good free coffee but no sugar or cream provided so bring you own! No tea either 6. Very close to sno-park which is a free open space for kids to sled. We had no idea where to pay for the $5 parking so luckily we didnt get caught for not paying 7. Ok this one u already know from their website but i must say anyway, the place is so beautiful! The decor is epic, especially the stair handrail (omg), and the appliances are all modern (ie. Cabinet door fridge). I dont know if id stay here again only because i wanna check out north or south tahoe instead next time but i highly recommend this place for families with kids!

Sara R.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Even more beautiful than in the photos. The place was clean, the beds were comfy, the staff was really nice, and the location was fantastic. Kitchen was fully stocked, and the entire place looks recently remodeled and every detail is perfect. I would highly recommend staying here!!

Lisa G.

Yelp
Returned for the 3rd year and Cedar Crest Cottages and Staff did not disappoint. We had a three bedroom and a two bedroom cottage. There is so much privacy because of the design. Everything is always in order. The staff is friendly, but have to say that Chris is exceptional! He handled a multi-reservation on a busy weekend in August, with ease, local suggestions, and fabulous hospitality. We love the Wine and S'mores around the campfire on the weekend! Location is close to stores and marinas. Love the Swiss Restaurant nearby, but the cottages are fabulous for cooking and eating in for every meal! BBQ area is clean and accessible. Parking is adequate. We had adults and one toddler. Plenty of room for the Nuna crib! It was a magical weekend! See you soon :)

Diane M.

Yelp
Our first time here and a wonderful stay. Our host Chris was professional, friendly and gracious. Our room was beautifully appointed. And the location on the West Shore can't be beat! We highly recommend you book a stay.

Craig G.

Yelp
Absolute best time spent in North Lake Tahoe. Exceptional grounds/property. Everything we needed was available in the rental home!...dishwasher, utencils and plates etc..provided. Great experience with all the snow, thanks to Mother Nature...hope to come back Would highly reccommend as a wonderful place to take family/loved ones/friends or even just to get away on your own. Hostess was wonderful!!!... Only downside was leaving...but again, hope to be back.

Betty H.

Yelp
what i can say...speechless...just like home. so clean, organized, they have everything u need, so detail, nice and clean Household appliances, modern and natural interior finish. kids love stay here. and nice restaurant near here, 5mins walk to lake. staffs so friendly. it's really glad to chose here for Christmas holidays. hope we could back for summer.

Fabi L.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good thing about this place. We stayed here for Thanksgiving and it was amazing. We had a very relaxing stay and everyone working here is so polite and welcoming. We paid a deposit in order to have our two little fur baby's with us and they had a great time too. The place provides everything you need to have meals prepared and there's a grocery store 15min away. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely be returning in the summer.

Nageswara Rao M.

Yelp
This place is really good, well decorated and modern. Lot of things are well thought of and brings smile on your face. I liked the way help labels are written all over the place, they grab your attention only when you need them. Only down side in "sparrow" is, it has relatively small living room space for a 3BR size. Except that, we enjoyed our stay here.

Jessica R.

Yelp
We stayed at the cottages on a whim and so happy we did! Everything was detailed to the "T", it was the perfect way to end our first family Tahoe trip. One of my favorite parts of staying there was that they provided a crib for my babies to sleep in! Our family can't wait to stay there again and now it will be a tradition. Ps. Don't forget to purchase the cute owl cup and a adorable bird prints as a keepsake, I love mine!

Eric N.

Yelp
My wife found this gem 4 years ago. We have made it an annual destination ever since. Every cottage is set up to meet your expectations. The attention to detail is phenomenal. We book our reservations the day that we leave because we have never found a place that welcomes us like family. Thank you Blythe.

Sabrina S.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here last weekend at the "Owl". The 4BR was perfect for us - a group of friends up here for a wedding. We loved how comfortable the place was and every detail was thought of - including labels on all the towels (black for removing make up, white for showering, and separate towels to clear your feet!). We spent a lot of time in the living room all hanging out and enjoying the place. The bedrooms were all very cozy. Blythe greeted us upon arrival and was easy to reach when we had questions. Cedar Crest is located perfectly in the middle of the "west shore" and was close to everywhere we wanted to go. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This review is WAY overdue, but better late than never :) Cedar Crest Cottages will forever be special to us, as my (now) husband proposed to me there by the fire pit on a cozy December night. The cottage we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. The floors were heated, the furniture was stylish, and overall the place was spotless! The hostess was so friendly and accomodating. She greeted us with a warm welcome, and even helped us clean the snow from our car. We are hoping to go back and celebrate our anniversary there each year now that we are married :) Thank you Cedar Crest Cottages crew for making our stay so special to us. We will forever hold this place close to our heart!

Sarah G.

Yelp
My family stayed at Cedar Crest Cottages for the first time over the July 4th holiday weekend. We loved it. The complex was built only a few years ago. Everything is new and clean. Nice quality furnishings in the residences. Beautifully landscaped grounds. My husband and I really enjoyed the communal fire pit area and bbq. The only thing I had wished for was more open space for my son to run around and play. Cedar Crest doesn't have much green space but luckily the shared private beach is nearby; walking distance less than 5 minutes. The cottages are owned and operated by a local Tahoe family. The on-site host is friendly and professional. The location of the cottages is also great. Eagle Rock is a few minutes drive north. Tahoe City is another 10 minutes north. Emerald Bay is about 25 minutes south. We had never stayed in Homewood before. We really enjoyed the location and low key vibe.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Look no further. This is the best place to stay on the lake. We had a one bedroom cabin but it was so spacious you definitely could have had a family of four stay here. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove, etc. The bedroom was extremely spacious and we also had a powder room in addition to the main bathroom. Our cabin felt like a cabin with all the modern conveniences and was decorated very nicely. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was even a television in the bedroom (although we never turned it on). The staff are very nice and welcoming. We could not have asked for better accommodations. We will definitely return.

Evie D.

Yelp
We had an amazing time in Lake Tahoe staying in Osprey cottage. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Although one can't see the lake from the cottage (and that was made clear to us when we booked) the lake is a short walk right across the street. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend this to anyone. Great value, lovely location and a terrific experience.

Amy O.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful stay - wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back! Attention to detail in the rooms and grounds, as well as from the host (Blythe), was superb. Cedar Crest Cottages is exactly how it looks in the photos :)

Anne W.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Cedar Crest Cottages. We where there for a wedding and family and friends booked most of the cottages. It was fun to be together and we still had lots of privacy. The accommodations were stylish, efficient and comfortable. Our hosts were terrific- really friendly and helpful. We'd recommend them to anybody/everybody and hope to be back!

Faviola M.

Yelp
This is our second visit to Cedar Crest Cottages and we would be hard pressed to stay anywhere else on the West Shore. The hosts on site are extremely helpful and accommodating. The beautiful campfire available each night is a wonderful way to wind down the evening and is great for the kids' s'mores needs. My husband, a general contractor, is super impressed with the level of craftsmanship and detail applied to the cottages. The cottages are beautiful, inside and out, clean and relaxing. They've thought of everything and we truly enjoy our time when staying there. Only thing I would suggest is to have firmer pillows available. Not everyone loves the down option! :)

Paige S.

Yelp
We stayed in Cottage 5 "Mallard" and it was WONDERFUL. We spent two nights there. Blithe was so helpful and kind. The view was great. It's close to walking trails (right outside the entrance) and Tahoe is wonderful. Five stars all the way - clean, beautiful, and so easy to book through. Will definitely be back!!

Reynald O.

Yelp
My wife and I loved Cedar Crest Cottages! They have 8 newly renovated cottages ranging from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms and they are all modern in design and feels homey as well. Upon arriving, we were greeted in the parking lot and given a tour through our cottage. In fact, the friendly staff showed us the 3 bedroom cottages when we asked about them. Note that each cottage featured a full kitchen with a full sized fridge, induction stove top, oven, microwave, dish washer, garbage disposal, pots, pans, plates, silver ware, aluminum foil, and pretty much everything you need to cook. There was also in-cottage washer and dryer for anyone who loves outdoor activities or have kids. The bedding in the bedrooms were of great quality as well. Last but not least, free wifi and bluetooth sound system rounded out the cottage features. The location of Cedar Crest Cottages was also great for us. It was situated away from the hustle and bustle of tourists but still conveniently close to Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, and Emerald Bay which offers a variety of different activities in the summer as well as winter. We would definitely recommend anyone looking for a getaway in Lake Tahoe to check out Cedar Crest Cottages!

Carolyn B.

Yelp
We stayed in Cottage 2 for three nights and had the best experience. Our reaction during our stay was, "they really thought of everything!" Our kitchen was well-stocked, they had a pack n play and high chair for our toddler, and the curtains made the rooms very dark for sleeping and naptime. Our son also loved exploring the cottages and finding all the owls. He still babbles about those owls days later. We also loved walking to Eagle Rock for a family hike, throwing rocks in the lake across the street, picking up ice cream from Obexer's, and running on the bike path. We will be back for sure!

Alexia K.

Yelp
We booked Cedar Crest for a company retreat of 15 people. I cannot say enough good things about our stay! From the very beginning, the Cedar Crest Hosts were so accommodating and helpful. When we arrived they met us with a smile, helped us to our cottages and even took the time to do a brief tour/cover the basics. They were very thorough so we weren't left with any questions. The cottages were lovely and you can tell that when they renovated them, they really paid attention to detail. They did a great job capturing the rustic Tahoe setting while keeping it modern/updated inside. The fire pit was great for post meeting decompression and socializing. So great for our retreat! Every person on our retreat said that they will definitely be back with their families and we will definitely book again for future company outings!

Kimberly C.

Yelp
My husband and I took a trip to Tahoe and stayed at Cedar Crest Cottages. Upon arriving we realized we were going to be early so I gave CCC a call to see if we could check in early and they were able to accommodate us. When we arrived we were met by Christopher who was very friendly, he checked us in, took us to our cottage, gave us a tour and was on his way. We stayed in the chickadee. The cottage was very clean, well laid out and very spacious for 2. They have a reference book in the cottage for places to eat and we to advantage of that. All the places listed in the book, that we tried were fantastic. The grounds are beautiful, lush, quiet and we enjoyed wine by the fire pit in the evenings. The bed was not comfortable at all. I would recommend a mattress enhancer. The access to the lake is an easement and is very small. It also had other people's kayaks and water toys around so there is not anywhere to layout. There is a beach about a mile down the road that is a lot better if you want to enjoy the lake. We had a great time staying at Cedar Crest Cottages and can not wait to return.

Stephen G.

Yelp
I had a great stay here! The cottages were very clean, comfortable and spacious. Our hosts were as nice and accommodating as can be. Overall, it was a very memorable stay. Would definitely recommend!

Beth C.

Yelp
I was traveling for 6 hours and then finally arrived to Cedar Crest Cottages. I was greeted by Chrstopher and saying welcome to cedar Crest and gave me a glass of wine. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. This is my new go to for Tahoe. Thank you.

Angie K.

Yelp
We thought it would be fun to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Tahoe. I found the cottages online, they looked great and we booked a two bedroom. Interestingly, we came up from the Bay Area on Friday the 13th, which had clear roads and skies. Our cottage was immaculately clean and had everything you could ever want. Knowing that snow was heading our way, we shopped at the local General Store and bought some food, etc. Saturday morning we woke up to about a foot of snow. The staff was out early shoveling the parking lot and sidewalks around the cottages. It was great to watch all of that snow fall from our cottage, it was really beautiful. On Sunday morning, there were snow advisories, etc. We planned to leave early and get out while there was a short break in the falling snow. It was 7:15 a.m. and the parking lot was being plowed, it looked like two feet of snow fell overnight! Shortly after we heard someone shoveling our sidewalk, he offered to dig out our car since it was buried up to the top of the tires! As he started digging out the car a couple more staff members came out and helped too. It was just a few minutes later and we could head out on the road. We are very grateful for all of their help and guidance on snow advisories and advice on taking 80 or 50 home. The entire experience was easy, fun and a great memory for our anniversary. We won't wait another 25 years before staying here again. The staff could not be more helpful, the cottages are super clean and Cedar Crest Cottages make for a wonderful escape to Tahoe. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable.

Nancy G.

Yelp
This was my second stay at Cedar Crest and it will not be my last. Can't imagine coming to the area and not staying here. We had a 2 bedroom cottage and the kitchen/dining area was spacious enough to host a dinner party one night for my daughter and her local friends. Everything was wonderful!!!

Jay C.

Yelp
Wonderful place for a family vacation to the lake or to the slopes. Very convenient to Homewood, Squaw, Northstar etc. Our cottage was very beautiful and relaxing & had all of the amenities you would ever need. After many trips to Tahoe over the past 10 years, this is the Best place we have stayed in Tahoe. We will be back.

Pamela L.

Yelp
Impeccably clean, beautiful design and function within the cottage, and very friendly and helpful staff. This place is run by a nice family who has done a great job with everything, from the furniture to the landscaping. Right across the street from the water. Great place to bring kids - there was a beautiful, clean kitchen and laundry machine within our cottage.

John C.

Yelp
This place is clearly a cut above the rest. No detail spared by the host. Exceeded all of our expectations. We will be back. Thanks Blythe -you welcomed us with a smile and warmth not common nowadays!

Marci M.

Yelp
We rented out the cottages for our daughter's wedding weekend. We absolutely loved everything about the cottages. The cottages are new and extremely clean. The staff could not have been any more accommodating. Every request made was granted with a smile. The kitchen is well equipped and the linens were delightful. The firepit was a big hit! I would definitely recommend Cedar Crest Cottages! Thank you, for providing wonderful accommodations for this very special weekend!

Melissa J.

Yelp
We had an incredible stay! Blythe was amazing and so welcoming. The OSPREY cottage was the top notch the best. The living room/kitchen was super cozy and the bedroom was spacious/comfortable. Great decor and higher end features - photos don't lie. Loved the heated floors!! Looking forward to going back for the 4th of July! Thank you so much for making our 20th anniversary so special!

I hesitate to say how awesome this place is, because the word will get out and it'll be hard to book our return stay. From top to bottom, every detail is well thought out, clean, modern, welcoming. The location is convenient to ski resorts, snowshoeing trailheads, and directly across the street from the lake. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and were impressed with how spacious it was. Blythe was incredibly welcoming and made our stay absolutely great. The listing photos are 100% accurate. It is really that nice.

Yelp
Cedar Crest Cottages is an amazing place to stay on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. The hosts are amazing; the rooms are beautifully renovated and appointed; and the location could not be better. The hosts took the time to also prepare a Guestbook that contains every piece of information you could hope for when visiting a new place. There are hiking recommendations, restaurant recommendations, information on every possible activity you could want to do in the Lake Tahoe area, and so on. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Chickadee cottage (Cottage 2) and will definitely be returning for another stay. I cannot recommend this place enough - the only reason I hesitate is that I don't want it to be too difficult to get a reservation in the future!! ;P

Yelp
Simply Exceptional! We stood in the Chickadee cottage and every accommodation needed was there, I felt I was at home! A special thanks to Blythe (host) for being so helpful....she truly makes you feel at home! We will be returning!

Yelp
FIRST CLASS!! Our family of 13 stayed for 6 nights in June in four of the cottages. The cottages, grounds and hosts are exceptional in every way. We enjoyed cooking smores around the fire pit, and skewers were provided! We cooked a few family meals on the grill on the deck of the Eagle cottage. The table in the Eagle cottage easily accommodated our entire family of 13 for meals and family card games. Cedar Crest Cottages was a great base for us to go kayaking, river rafting, boating, hiking, golfing and shopping. There are also many great restaurants nearby. I highly recommend Cedar Crest Cottages and would not consider staying anywhere else the next time we return to Lake Tahoe.

Yelp
We stayed here last weekend while attending a wedding. Our group had most of the cottages booked. I can not say enough about how helpful and accomodating Blythe was to our group. The cottages and grounds are immaculate and the cottages were appointed with all the essentials. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again.

Yelp
Wonderful place. very clean . So enjoyed our couple of days in this fabulous location. We stayed in the one bedroom cottage.... plenty of room. Would highly recommend to anyone for a west shore experience. Plenty of close by restaurants and outdoor activities. Great location!

Yelp
My husband, two teenage daughters, and I stayed in Mallard (Cottage 5) for two nights. This place is exceptional and Blythe, the hostess, was so helpful. It's fully stocked with just about everything you could possibly need. Just show up with some groceries (food) and you're all set. Depending on which cottage you stay in, there are quite a few stairs to take, but the grounds are beautiful and the lake is just across the street. Tahoe City is nearby and has some great restaurants and grocery stores.

Yelp
We had a great stay here the hosts were wonderful and the cabin was excellent. Everything was of top quality in the cabin with excellent modern features such as smart tv and high speed wireless. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet and with radiant heating. It was perfect for my family and I and I highly recommend it to anyone looking I stay in Tahoe. With quick easy access to homewood and Alpine Meadows & Squaw it's the perfect place for both couples and a family to stay.

Yelp
Review is on behalf of (from) Robert M. Fanucci who stayed at Cedar Crest Cottages on August 1, 2015. Exceptional room, all highest quality appliances, very roomy, extremely clean, nice grounds, enjoyable walking areas, shuttle service to restaurants. Very enjoyable place and I would highly recommend Cedar Crest Cottages to all. I will definitely book them again. -RMF

Yelp
This place is amazing! Its a very cute place with with modern amenities. I would definitely come back here and refer anyone here who's looking for an escape from the city life. The owners are more welcoming and pleasant. You truly get a VIP feeling as well as a home away from home.

Yelp
This place is THE BEST! My husband and I visited in the off-season (late October), which meant that the campus and the entire town/ surrounding area were nice and calm. The cottages are situated in elevated groups that make you feel like you're sleeping in the trees. Gorgeous televisions, appliances, radiant heating in the floor, and all the modern amenities you would think to want to use are at your fully functional disposal. The bedrooms and living area were as comfortable as they could have been! Perfect for lazy afternoons recovering from the night before or even your morning run or hike. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating for us, either! We checked in super late at night when we arrived with zero hassle whatsoever. We were also so fortunate to arrange to enjoy the cottages throughout the afternoon on our final day in Tahoe, as our redeye from Reno wasn't leaving until midnight. That was hugely appreciated! Routes along the West Shore are fabulous for a run or a walk. The West Shore Cafe is right down the road, and The West Shore Market and Fire Sign Cafe are right up the street...All within very comfortable driving distance. We literally couldn't have been happier with our choice of accommodation for our first trip together to Tahoe. Highly recommended!
