"On Cedar Hill in Central Park this Friday Films on the Green screens Jacques Besnard’s Le Grand Restaurant as part of a free French film festival focused on gastronomy, so I’d consider bringing baguettes and cheese for the full effect." - Vanita Salisbury
Is the one of the wonderful place for picnic at the Central Park.
Here you have on a higher ground so that you can have a good view to watch other people playing around
it is so enjoyable to having some sun bathing there so many Rock naturally scattered on the grassland , so find one and just relax to lie yourself on the rock and have your picnic food if you feel tired just have a nap.

A lovely spot for a picnic/relax with friends and family in the park. A little quieter than others parts of the park, lots of space.

Nice little hill/bunny slopes for kids pre- tweens even though there are some tweens after school. But "they" (everyone, not just kids) don't clean up after themselves.
Broken plastic sleds and cardboard and lids and various makeshift sleds parts everywhere.
Highlights, some local snow "artists" making Igloos, which is rad.

Sledding in the winter and outdoor movies in the summer, is there a better place in this world? Honestly this is THE locals hill. The top of the hill has an epic view of the city and the hill side is the best place for early sunbathing. When it snows tho 😍 come at night cause the hill will be filthy with children runny into each other. You don't want to get sued by an UES mom...

Well if there are times that you need alone, accompanied, to eat outdoors, maybe reading or simply resting is your best option, of course many people will be around you and that is good since they will not interrupt your plans, just try it is great 😁

Yelp
This hilly area of Central Park offers some nice views.
The rolling grass covered hills here are picturesque with large rocks to sit on, many large trees offering shade, along with a few wooden benches to sit on and take it all in.
Be sure to check out the dedication plaques on the benches as they always tell a story.

Yelp
Ok! I'm taking the easy way out for this review. You want a super duper descriptive review and beautiful photos? Please read Harald's review. He's my Yelp Friend and I consider him my inspiration for all things Central Park has to offer.
All I can say about Cedar Hill is that it's beautiful any season. I enjoy seeing families playing. I enjoy seeing dogs and owners playing. I love the landscaping. The trees are some of the most beautiful Central Park has to offer.
The surrounding area is filled with interesting sights and sounds. I pass this way when I walk. I always see something new.
When you visit Central Park go to Cedar Hill. Climb up and then run down as fast as you can. That's the freedom of Central Park Cedar Hill!

Yelp
The cedar hill section of Central Park is where my cuz took me to show the different spots he met his ex girlfriends and it seems to be bad luck for him but for me I enjoyed visiting the Hilly shaded area with the rocks , clean open spaced green lawn , benches to sit and the many trees that block the sun. While cuz was trying to find his next ex girlfriend I was watching a jack Russell going nuts chasing a Frisbee and a bunch of folks just enjoying the weather like myself. Nice relaxing part of the park that I won't mind visiting again.
