Very quiet out here. So many pine trees!! I saw an Eastern Towhee, a hawk, a raccoon, and heard many other birds. I hiked the white trail loop on the eastern side; it'll definitely take the energy out of you. That's not even the longest trail! But definitely worth the drive. I was confused about it until I got there but the parking areas are just the grassy areas before either trailhead. Also, no restrooms really. A compost toilet is mentioned on the website but I couldn't find it. Make sure to bring bug spray and water. Wanna come again to do the western trails!

Camping nearby, I wanted to check this out for riding some trails with my 29er mountain bike. This is DEFINITELY not for bikes or even hiking. The trails are almost all sugar sand, with some hard packed areas. Definitely catered to equestrian use. I made it halfway around the loop and encountered a large mudhole with no way around and had to double back to exit the park.

NO! So no, I don't want your number No, I don't want to give you mine and No, I don't want to meet you nowhere No, I don't want none of your time No, I don't want no scrub All jokes aside, I was excited to hike here....but, it's not what you want..... it's bad. Really bad. Basically plowed service roads, control burn areas and abandoned equipment.... We did get a cute tractor pic with our dog. .

Not a destination but Ok if looking for a mountain bike ride or hike. The challenge is that several of the well established roads/trails now end barbwire and no trespassing signs so you have to turn back. Also, both my wife and I got a tire puncture resulting in slow leak during the trip, not sure what caused it along the route. (Won’t hold it against Key Scrub) We did not go along the shoreline. Suggest you look at All Trails app to see some of the trail options but not all were marked and some trails were obviously made by 4x4s recently.

Great place for a peaceful walk. Bring bug spray! Trails are fairly well marked. The scrub jay lives here, the only bird endemic to FL.

Trails easily marked. Sticky burrs for the pups on a cut off slowed us down. Paths are loose sand, but very walkable

Beautiful place to walk in the morning and enjoy the sunshine.

Pretty views and a nice, serene walk. The trails were recently tilled, so they’re a little challenging, but this makes for a nice stop before or after a visit to Cedar Key.

Yelp
Coming from Fl 24, there is a signage on the side leading to this hidden park which to be honest feels like a privately owned park because no one is there. What is interesting is that it is a Florida scrub reserve meaning the ecosystem is different as it is arid and landscape is completely different than other parks around Florida. Plants are mostly oaks and shrubs as may be due to low nutrients of the sandy soil and usually dry. Since we are the only ones around, we felt a bit afraid to go past the corner of the trail. This place is deserted but at least there is a bathroom that is generally clean and accessible.
