Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa (Beaune, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s easy enough to stay at home and wait for Burgundy’s most famous product to arrive on our shores, but any proper European wine tour would have to pass through the medieval walled city of Beaune. Not only is it a town of architectural distinction, it’s also home to seemingly no end of wine cellars, representing the many producers from the surrounding villages. And it’s also home to a splendid hotel, the Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa, a classic 19th-century townhouse right at the edge of the old town." - Tablet Hotels

Beautiful hotel conveniently located for exploring Beaune. The staff were very attentive and friendly, looking after us well. We received a welcome room upgrade and were very happy with it. Breakfast at €30 is expensive but reasonable considering the selection offered. A nice touch was leaving nighttime items in our room like water, herbal tea, and chocolate, although we found it unusual that housekeeping re-entered the room without informing us. Housekeeping generally cleaned very well, but one day they took a bath towel without replacing it and left cleaning chemicals in the bathroom. On another day, the room was not made up when we returned after 4 pm, which was unusual for a five-star hotel. They did return shortly after to clean, but it meant waiting downstairs for 20 minutes when we wanted to relax. This was a minor inconvenience and didn’t affect our overall experience. The bar has great options; we enjoyed a tasty pre-dinner aperitif but did not have a second as the barman appeared a bit distracted with other orders.

Beautiful 5 star hotel in lovely village location. Rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable (even asking our pillow preference). The staff and the service were extremely good where nothing was too much trouble. We did not experience the restaurant but if breakfast is anything to go by I’m sure it would have been very good. Lovely garden and outside bar with great bar staff. Beaune is also very pretty and worth an evening walk around. It was a shame we only stayed as a one night stop over - we will be back and I would be happy to recommend.

We decided to spend the entrance in the new year 2025 in this location.|We reserved a room in the hotel and paid for the special diner for 31/12 night. A very important amount but the restaurant has Michelin star, so. .|We arrived at the hotel, the room we got was a junior suite, vey nice.|I think it was recently renovated and refurbished, quality furnishing and electric appliances at the highest possible quality.|From this point of view I was really pleasantly impressed.|And then we attended the restaurant for the diner. We were very nicely dressed , a black evening dress and a suite my husband. Arriving at the restaurant we were sitted in the back, at the section the waiters were prepairing the drinks . In that section they arranged a lit of people wearing Adidas shoes and t-shirts...I understood that they attended in the last minute, not ordered months in advance like us.||So I do not want to comment about the food, is a question of taste but let's say that I will never attend this place again. But the feeling that I was trated like a second quality, was seated at the back of the restaurant, in a position I had even not a view to the main room...|How come that a hotel 5 stars and a restaurant Michelin do not send a note to the attendants to remind them that there is a dressing code.|A total disrespect.|And a last tought: there are not enough parking spaces in the underground, so there is a risk that you will be send to find a space by yourself.|Breakfast is expensive and poor.|⁸

While visiting Bourgogne for wine tasting we spent two nights in Beaune at Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa. The location was superbly located in the city near various vineyards (we drove by car, but I also assume within biking distance), restaurants, and sights. The staff was fantastic in welcoming us and getting us oriented to their hotel and gave us welcome treats; check out was easy too and they gave us more treats when we departed. The room was beautiful, quiet, had a nice view, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom great; the room had all the amenities we needed as well, including coffee/beverages. The hotel staff helped us with suggestions prior to our trip for various vineyards to visit (and the suggestions were excellent). We also ate at their Michelin-starred restaurant Clos du Cèdre; we chose the five course meal which was excellent and we especially enjoyed the sweet bread. We also ate breakfast at the hotel which was fantastically prepared and had many options. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will be back again; I highly recommend this hotel!

Unfortunately, the hotel’s management misrepresented their booking policy in a way that reflects poorly on their practices. Aside from the Michelin restaurant on site, the overall experience offers little value for the price, made worse by the owners’ apparent greed and disregard for fair dealing. We booked and fully prepaid through Booking.com, with confirmation that the entire stay was settled prior to arrival. Nevertheless, the hotel charged us again at checkout for Booking.com’s commission fee—something their agreement with the platform clearly stipulates they themselves must cover, not the guest. When questioned, management’s explanation was that they “recommend booking directly” to avoid this charge. This response is misleading, as no such suggestion exists on the Booking.com listing, and it appears contrary to the standards the platform requires of its partners.

We booked the hotel for our anniversary mixed with business trip. We got a charming room, nicely appointed. Beautiful view to French village street. Service was impeccable, at the hotel and the restaurant. staff was very professional, gracious and accommodating, especially Maxime, he seemed to be everywhere and do everything. The hotel exceeded our expectations and made our anniversary very special. We will definitely be back.

We were four adults staying two nights. With the exception of the Spa we utilized all other services. The Michelin star restaurant is a must: very professional personel serving great courmet dinner.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable with a beautiful garden. The staff are friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. Great location close to Beaune centre and has a good car park on site. Dinner options are good with 2 restaurants

Yelp
If you visit Beaune, this is the place to stay! The new owner is on hand to personally ensure a 5 star quality service! From the concierge to the cleaning staff, all are ready to assist in any way they can. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated! Their restaurant is also wonderful, but be sure to have the hotel reserve a table, it fills up quickly!

Yelp
The hotel was quaint, nice grounds but everything was small. Not a lot of room to lounge around the hotel. Service and restaurants were fine, but our room needed an overhaul. The bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. Not a terrible if the stairs hadn't been so damn dangerous. You could miss one at night and it's over. Looking forward the the Four Seasons in Paris in a day.

Yelp
Located in Beaune this hostellerie stood out due to its location and property. It was really well maintained and when we walked in we immediately loved the fire log lounge and the bar. It was so relaxing in the leather arm chairs we enjoyed our night caps before heading to bed. The hotel room was nicely decorated slightly got away with the datedness. They had a fabulous restaurant right next door and driving distance to some of the best vineyards in the rhone.

Yelp
This is a fantastic property with a very attentive staff. I have stayed here more than once and it's perfect every time. They have secured parking, a cozy lounge with fire and club chairs (open all night), beautifully appointed rooms and an incredible, albeit pricey, restaurant. I cannot say enough about this hotel. I really enjoy myself here.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good about this hotel. We stayed for five days. Service was impeccable and friendly, I might add. If a 5-star hotel experience is what you "do" or an ambition while in Beaune, in my opinion, the Hotel Le Cèdre à Beaune is the best choice in town.

Yelp
I was tremendously skeptical of a hotel in a small town in Burgundy, but the Hostellerie le Cedre exceeded expectations. The room was an interesting mix of modern bathroom fixtures and a mix of modern and austere furnishings. The rooms were definitely not 5 star, but the lobby offers an elegant bar and fireplace; the grounds are immaculately maintained; and the concierge was helpful, professional, and friendly. A very nice place to stay if you want to explore the Burgundy wine country.
