Not amazing but it is a great bargain. The view from the upper level patio is awesome. Nice to relax and have a simple breakfast. The rooms are simple but clean the owners a very kind and generous. The pool is ok I would stay here again. There is a very steep drive way but no one seemed to have difficulty with it.

Wonderful place, wonderful view. Close to El Yunque and the beaches. Owners are very nice. The rooms are very clean. They have a few, very friendly dogs. Nice upper level patio to enjoy the morning sunrise thru the valley looking out to the ocean. No need for air conditioning (they do have it) just leave the windows open and turn on the ceiling fan. Great place to unwind!

We arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning, so we didn't really interact with the staff. The room was well decorated and very charming, in a rustic way. You hear a lot of birds and frogs, which was very nice. The only thing that could be improved is the bedding: we found the mattress very hard.

This photo of this swimming pool is not from Ceiba Country Inn. Why is this photo on the Ceiba Country Inn website? I don't know but it's weird I might say. I stayed here for one day and this photo was very misleading to me. They do have a pool but it is not this one! They have an out door pool and it looks nothing like this one. There is no TV in the room, no coffee maker, no microwave and if you want coffee or anything to eat you have to drive to get some cause the hotel is in a beaten path and there are no stores near. You cannot get any coffee from the breakfast area until breakfast is set up at 7am "On the dot" This place is very humble. The owner and the attendant were very nice. I'll have to say that the photos on the website look 90% better than the place actually does. If quiet and humble is what you're looking for this place is ok.

We reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights on-line. When we got there no one was around. The clock on the door said they'd be back at 6-we weren't sure if that was am or pm... There were some dogs and cats in the office so we assumed someone still lived there although the pool area looked sketchy. The pool was green, there was a broken plate near the grill and food left on the grill. The place had 2 broken down cars on site. No one else was around so we looked to see if keys were left under mats at the rooms. One of the rooms we reserved we could see into the room-the beds were unmade. We attempted to call the number on the webpage and the one that came with the confirmation of reservations. The phone was not in service. We waited for over an hour-6:20 and no one showed up. We left and looked for another place to stay. It's a shame this place looks like it use to be nice but it is not taken care of at all. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Looks dirty and unkept. My daughter said she felt like she was in one of those horror movies where the people are given so many clues to GET OUT yet they keep hanging around.

Google
A bit rustic, but very comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed the sounds of the jungle wildlife and the breakfast. If in Ceiba again, we would almost definitely stay here.

Google
Absolutely horrible Hotel. individual that owns it is a alcoholic as seen in picture. Invited his friends over that we're not staying at the hotel several nights, had the electricity go off for several nights. Absolutely no breakfast as advertised as the individual was to passed out to wake up

Amazing I feel in love and the owner is such a beautiful person and inspired me. I recommend if your coming to Puerto Rico stay here in this beautiful place. Your a 10 star in my heart.

Yelp
What happened to this Inn? It was such an amazing place to visit and we were hoping to return very soon. I'm not able to find any info on a closure but says it's permanently closed. I visited back in 2012 or 2013 I believe. It was so amazing and comfortable. We regretted having rented a beach house in Arecibo after having the first night here. The tranquility, the land, the views, the sounds. It was a perfect retreat from life and technology. I miss you already. :(

Yelp
This was a great stop on our trip. Ceiba Country Inn is right on the fringe of the rainforest, with an upstairs deck that overlooks the valley all the way to the water. Completely relaxing. Swinging in a hammock, listening to the coquis, and looking up at the moon through palm trees full of coconuts..... Rooms were simple but more than enough. Clean and nice. The property really makes you feel like you're out in the jungle... away from civilization and yet still completely safe (a rarity on the island). Short drive to Fajardo, El Yunque, or the Luquillo kiosks. Breakfast is simple and serviceable, but the real draw here is the laid back atmosphere and beautiful grounds. The owner is quick to shake your hand and welcome you to his little slice of paradise. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Me and 4 of my other friends stayed at this bed and breakfast Aug. 22-25, 2005. The place is up a mountain, beautiful scenery, and very quiet. We loved it! The owners were awesome, very friendly, and were very helpful. When we found out they originally were from the New England area.. we had lots to talk abouts. Continental Breakfast was included. They had a very sincere setup which included breads, cereals, fresh fruits, and juice. The room was very spacious, 2 double bed, and a rollaway bed. And did not feel cramped at all!! I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Other than preaching the Gospel message, staying here was the highlight of our trip. If you are looking for the Hilton stay away. Buy if you are looking for simple pleasures this is the place. Beautiful clean rooms . Unbelievable views. Great friendly hosts. I will take these memories to my grave but I hope to come back before that happens.

Yelp
Ceiba Country Inn... One of Puerto Rico's most beautiful and unique hidden gems. I go to PR every yr and stay at different places. But nothing like the country inn. I was left speechless upon arrival. The feel, the view, the air, everything about it was breathtaking.  If you truly want to experience Puerto Rico for the true beauty that she is, Ceiba Country Inn is a must. The staff was remarkable and very friendly, most especially the owner, Pedro. He is amazing!  The Continental breakfast was yummy in my tummy. Fresh cut up fruits, fresh homemade banana breads, great Puerto Rican coffee... with the most beautiful heavenly views of the ocean and El yunque rainforest. And they have the coolest live in pets... the amazing Casper (dog) , beautiful and lovable leona, Little Lucy and their cutie pie cat.  Last but not least... the mind blowing symphony you get every night from the coquis. Had to pinch myself a few times just to make sure this was all real. I can't wait to go back to PR just so I can stay at Ceiba Country Inn and make a bbq. (Yes you can also bbq when you want)

Yelp
This hotel was the unexpected highlight of our trip! Between San Juan & Vieques we spent a day at El Yunque. As Fajardo didn't seem overly appealing to spend the night in, we opted to stay outside of Ceiba at the foot of the rainforest. We had read the reviews before booking, but what we arrived to far exceeded our expectations! The rooms are humble but have everything you need, including large, clean bathrooms and AC! As soon as we dropped off our bags we spent the early evening exploring the grounds (i.e. the jungle) with their friendly, terrific dogs. We then mixed up a pitcher of Mai Tais & headed up to the terrace to watch & listen to night fall. We absolutely loved our stay & wished we had more time to spend here. It's a quick, easy drive from Fajardo/Luqillo, and about 45 minutes to the main entrance of El Yunque. It appeared as though there were some little restaurants or bars in Ceiba when we drove through, but once we got the the hotel we had no desire to leave!

Yelp
This is a charming B&B just east of El Yunque. It's at least an hour's drive by car from here to the rainforest, yet it's located close enough to it that we felt secluded in the dense green foliage. The building is attractive, and the grounds lovely. It was still daylight when we pulled in, but darkness came quickly, along with our first exposure to the Puerto Rican tree frog, the coqui. May I just say that the coqui really like the Ceiba Country Inn. There must be thousands of them out there. The sound is pervasive and penetrating. I slept with ear plugs, but my husband slept fine without any. Breakfast was simple but good, with excellent fresh fruit, and some homemade breads that evidently change regularly. I tried the Pear and the Banana. The host Michael was pleasant without being intrusive. He responded to my newbie questions about the coqui with good humor. In fact, he gave us a free Styrofoam cooler when we left the following morning because we had asked him where we could find one nearby to purchase. There was an older couple here during our stay that were clearly taking advantage of the "retreat" feel of the Inn. They microwaved their dinner and enjoyed an evening on the terrace. I could certainly see how this would be a really nice place to spend some quiet days away from real life.

Yelp
I hardly ever write any reviews but this time is an exception.. This place is AMAZING, my bf and I wanted to get away from crowds and really get to explore P.R and Ceiba Inn was the perfect spot. Is about 45mins-1hr from San Juan, not difficult to get there. (Make sure you use a map, reception is terrible in P.R) Up on top of the mountain, the view is a breath-taker. Breakfast consist of fresh fruit either from the garden or from the local town, baked goods and fresh squeezed juice is made by Michael. Room had all the essentials needed and to my surprised VERY CLEAN. During the time of our stayed a club house/pool was in construction. El Yunque is less than 40mins away. Again, this place was the highlight of out trip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. P.S Michael is a phenomenal host.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was for a very short time (1 night), but Room #3 where we were staying was a good size and had a very big bathroom. The room was very clean, and it was very interesting to hear the crickets chirp and the frogs croak loudly at night. We were definitely not in the city! It wasn't too far from Hwy 3, and was pretty easy to find. The staff was very friendly and personable, and they even let guests hang out on the rooftop all night to stargaze and whatnot. My only two complaints about this place would be that the shower for some reason over flooded even though the head was pointing towards the wall and the drain appeared to be free of debris and also the alarm clock was not turned off by housekeeping so we had a really loud alarm wake us up at 12 AM and we had to get to the airport at 6 AM. The Wi-Fi here is weak, but if you're on vacation ,it doesn't really matter. Otherwise, I would stay here again and recommend it to those who will be near the Fajardo area.

Yelp
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is the first negative review for anything I have ever written - that's how bad it was. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Breakfast was almost never served. Halfway through our stay our room stopped being cleaned - we came back to our room to find that we were still out of toilet paper. I called and called and emailed (and of course knocked on the office door) to no avail. Finally, an hour later, Pedro (the owner) showed up at our door drunk to tell us the maid had quit. If that was true, why didn't he take care of our room as soon as possible, instead of having us have to practically beg him to help? He also said he hadn't served breakfast that morning (we showed up only to find the door locked) because he "had a late night with" his significant other. How unprofessional is that?! But the worst thing that happened was our last night. Pedro decided to throw a pool party with very loud music. After hoping it would go off at a reasonable hour (starting at 9:30 pm, when we got back to the place), I went out there at 11:00 to ask Pedro to lower it. Well, Pedro was too drunk to even carry on a conversation, and his friends started yelling at me. My husband came out and the argument almost got physical - all because I asked for them to simply lower the music!! This is a horrible place run by a very irresponsible man who treats it like his personal vacation home.

Yelp
We should have stayed here another night! Best bang for the buck place we stayed all trip (We stayed at 4 different hotels over 5 nights.) Totally secluded in a beautiful setting not far from the eastern coast of Puerto Rico. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. They also had a "house" dog named Shakira, who was AWESOME! I wish we could've brought her back to the US with us.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! The rooms were great! They had 3 beds, which is nice because my 13 year old daughter doesn't want to share. I also liked all the animals. They had 4 dogs that live at the hotel. I also liked the wildlife. They have lots of lizards running around outside and at night, the coqui can be heard. They make a very interesting sound and my family and I got to see some!! This is an AWESOME hotel to stay at.

Yelp
This place was perfect. I wanted a getaway that was away from the crowds and the people and found the perfect location at Ceiba Country Inn. The inn is situated higher up in the hills, away from the town and even away from many of the residential buildings. It's nestled right at the edge of the rain forest, and close to the beach. Our room was nice, a queen sized bed with a small AC unit to help with the heat and humidity. There's plenty of parking (free!) and wifi available (also free) in the office area as well as one tv with satellite TV, although I couldn't get the wifi to work on the iPhone. Shower and bathroom was nice, with shampoo and soap provided, and hot water on demand which is always a plus. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, some fresh bread, yogurt, cereal, and coffee...simple but good! And it's location is so convenient!! From Ceiba country inn, it's a short drive to Playa Los Machos Medio Mundo, about 15 minutes straight down the road. It's a nice, mostly empty beach. It's about 45 minutes to the entrance of El Yunque. It's 20 minutes to fajardo, so if you try to get a ticket for the culebra ferry, it's easy to drive there to get in line, or a 10 minute drive to the airport in Ceiba, Jose Aponte de la Torre, if you decide to take the much more convenient (but not as cheap) option to culebra. I'd definitely stay here again the next time I come back to Puerto Rico!
google avatar

Mansi B.

Yelp
It was a night stay after our kayak in fajardo and our early am flight to culebra. We got room 1 which was spacious and comfortable. A little disappointed with the breakfast served in morning but could bey high expeditions. It was satisfying- coffee, tea, bread, jams and fruits. The banana and lemon poppy seed bread were freshly made and baked. Oh and waking up to the rising sun was serene.

Yelp
Pros: Beautiful grounds, amazing view, decent breakfast, clean room with refrigerator, useful beach towels provided in room, responsible owners, cute dogs Cons: No wifi in the room and only available in the common dining area (which closes at 9 PM) and outside patio that teems with mosquitos at night. Ouch! I'm not a cyber junkie...just a traveler who needs to use the Internet for trip planning. This inn is a perfect example of 'you get what you pay for'.
google avatar

Chantal T.

Yelp
We only stayed one night but Ceiba Country Inn was just what we needed. It was a basic peaceful getaway and we stayed in room #5. PROS - AC - free breakfast from 7-9am (bread, milk, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, coffee, tea, etc.) - free wifi - rooftop lounge - pool - free parking - refrigerator in the room - loving dogs on the property - surrounded by nature (you can hear the coqui at night and we saw many lizards and frogs here) - very close to Ceiba airport CONS - they could not accommodate our request for a later checkout (normal checkout is at 11am) - the driveway to the place is a little steep (but nothing our rental couldn't handle) Would definitely consider staying longer here. It's a serene getaway!

Yelp
I stayed at Ceiba Country Inn for 2 days earlier this month. I had been to 2 previous hostel/ bed and breakfast places prior to my stay at Ceiba. Ceiba was the best of all the places I stayed. Amazing continental breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. with fresh fruits from the property, with sweet and tame dogs and cats hanging around nearby making me feel like I was at home. The location was absolutely beautiful, just a 30 minute drive away from the entrance to El Yunque Rain Forest. The sounds of nature were present all day and were bothersome during the night for my boyfriend but I didn't mind it. I would recommend to someone looking for a low key and nature based retreat. If you're looking for nightlife and shopping, best stay in Old San Juan where it's much more touristy and busy.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful stay at Ceiba Country Inn. First contact was with Marco and I have to be honest, he made you feel like he knew you from the beginning. I have never been treated so well and it has left a wonderful everlasting impression. So, thank you Marco. I also had the pleasure of meeting Michael. He made you feel like you were right at home. This location is amazing. Great views. What sold me on the location when I first arrived was being greeted by their dogs. I am such a dog lover and being greeted by all of them was an unexpected, yet excellent first impression. Thank you for all of your hospitality. I hope to one day return. Antonio Padilla

Yelp
Very nice bed and breakfast in breathtaking location with a friendly welcome. Our toddler fell in love with Casper the friendly lab and loved watching him play fetch with fallen coconuts.

Yelp
Great place to spend some time away from the crowds.. the hosts gave us some very good tips of hidden places to see unlike the routine ones and they turned out to be real gems

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Quiet and away from the city- this place is great for nature lovers. We loved the coqui at night and looking at the big toads! The breakfast is fantastic, the animals on site are so sweet- and the views are to die for. Highly recommend this quiet, wonderful hotel.

Yelp
As a single father of two boys I don't want to go anywhere I'm not wanted. Clearly, I was not wanted at the Ceiba Country Inn. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there was a problem with the reservation through expedia (neither his nor my fault), where I somehow booked the room, despite the fact that 2 kids exceeded his "hotel policy". The owner was not content with the $106 that I had already paid, he hounded me for 5 minutes wanting an extra $10. I guess to pay for the hypothetical breakfast for my 11-year-old son, even though we couldn't eat breakfast (left too early to catch the ferry to Culebra).. Ultimately, I didn't pay the extra money, but owner made for an extremely unpleasant experience. Room was just okay. No pool (only hotel on the trip without a pool). Owner is control-freak owner went into my room to turn off the air conditioner. If you are a family, stay away, you are clearly not wanted.

John-Patrick S.

Yelp
We were on our way to Puerto Rico this weekend and my appendix burst while visiting friends in Chicago. We called the Inn and explained the situation and that we had to cancel our entire trip while I underwent emergency surgery. They refused to consider any refund because our cancelation was outside their policy. Based solely on that, I would not expect much in the way of customer service or customer care on the grounds.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We loved our one night stay at Ceiba Country Inn. The owner Michael is friendly and helpful. The inn is easy to find. Very clean. Room 5 was great. Bed was comfy. The dogs are super cute and welcoming. This was a perfect end to our day in El Yunque.
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
We arrived late at Ceiba Inn during the slow season and were the only people there, but Michael was very hospitable and extremely welcoming! We had to wake up early for an excursion and he seemed happy to wake up early as well to make us a great breakfast. The setting is incredible and the view goes on for miles. You hear all sorts of amazing night sounds and there is a big rooftop area as well as a hammock to relax in. I would absolutely recommend this little getaway (ESP if you're doing any sort of excursion at Puerto del Rey-it's so close!). We will definitely be back!!
google avatar

Kaia S.

Yelp
A beautiful end to our PR trip, Ceiba Country Inn was the perfect antidote to the crowds in Old San Juan. Clean rooms, great service from Michael and Pedro. Rich forest melodies at night. And homemade pastries! Will definitely be staying here again.

Kylien P.

Yelp
We were here overnight before we took the morning fairy to Vieques. Beds were comfortable, rooms were cute and well maintained, owner was very friendly, breakfast was fantastic and included tropical fruit grown on the property! It was truly lovely and I wish we had planned to stay longer!

Yelp
Stayed April 24 and 25, 2014. It's a great place - and the manager told us where to find exceptional roasted chicken from a nearby food truck!

Linda c.

Yelp
We stayed here for 4 days, the place is fantastic! If you don't like dogs, do not stay here, but for us, the dogs were a big plus! They were all friendly and well behaved and we looked forward to seeing them. Our room was great, it was clean and comfortable, breakfast was fresh fruit, homemade breads (excellent!) coffee, tea, etc. What I loved about Ceiba Inn was that it was not located in a touristy part of P.R. we were able to drive all over Puerto Rico and take part in the couture, the beaches are close, the rain forest, everything is a short drive away and Pedro was great at giving recommendations and helping us arrange things to do. I doubt that we would get that kind of personal attention at a chain hotel in Old San Juan. The grounds, the view are all breathtaking, just sitting on the terrace and taking it all in.... it just doesn't get any better than that!

James L.

Yelp
beautiful location, amazing breakfast, comfortable rooms, 1/2 hour or so to El Yunque. it's more of a hotel than a bed and breakfast. overall a very nice place.

Turtle S.

Yelp
My friends and I stayed here for an overnight on our way to culebra. Michael, the owner was great. The breakfast was really good, fresh fruit and fresh baked breads. (Lemon poppy was to die for). There are resident dogs on the property. Very friendly. You fall to sleep listening to the chorus of coqui frogs!, which was really cool!!! If you are heading to the islands... this is a great option for an overnight.

Julie L.

Yelp
Great peaceful location! Easy drive to area attractions: beaches, bio bay tours, El Yunque, and snorkeling. Great prices for clean rooms, breakfast, friendly, helpful staff, and the pool is open 24/7. Loved falling asleep to the song of the coqui frogs and views from the room was breath-taking. Highly recommend!

Beach Girl M.

Yelp
Beautiful place. Close to El Yunque, Fajardo and the ferry. Arrived in the afternoon. The owners just so welcoming and nice. Setting is gorgeous. We were missing our pup... so when we were greeted by their super friendly cute dogs(all rescued btw- another huge star!!!) it was a definate bonus. Rooms simple , clean and comfy. We just stayed for a night since we were heading to Vieques but will definately return. All the other guest at the inn seemed so happy and content.

Molly T.

Yelp
We are currently about to leave the Ceiba Country Inn, only because we have to get over to Vieques ...otherwise we would love to stay for a bit longer. Michael is a very kind, calm, and knowledgeable man, and he has provided us with many tips and delicious guava juice. The grounds are beautiful, and the view from the rooms as well as the terrace is hard to beat. If you are coming from SJU, make sure you have clear directions for the driver as this place is definitely tucked away. An enchanting spot of serenity on a bustling island.
