We definitely had a mixed experience here we were greeted at the door by Vincente, who was so cheerful and friendly, and then we talked to our server and I don’t know what we said, but our service went downhill quickly after that we waited quite a long time for our Sangria and also our food. In fact, the manager or owner was very upset with how long it took for us to get our food however our food was absolutely amazing. The octopus was out of this world delicious we were there during the sunset and that was also amazing even though we told our server we wanted dessert she did not come with our check or offer us a dessert menu When we were getting ready to leave the manager/owner was very upset and we were given complementary blackberry liquor, which was wonderful. I would definitely go back to this place. I think it was very unusual. We watched the server take very good care of other tables so I’m not sure Why she neglected us but I definitely would go back and recommend this restaurant

Little bit of a walk from our accommodation but nicely situated overlooking the sea. A small selection of offerings but all bases covered. We visited a couple of times and found not all items on the drinks menu were available and that was disappointing, no such issues encountered on the food menu.

As other reviewers mentioned, this place is quite unique, and has the most incredible view! We got there during a busy time - around 8pm on a Sunday in August, but we only had to wait about 15 mins for a table, if that. We were lucky to sit in the outdoor seating area and were treated to a great sunset! It seemed like a small place with only a few staff, so expect things to take a bit longer (the staff were all very kind and seemed to be working hard). It did take quite a while to get our order taken, as well as our food to come - however we knew to expect this based on others reviews, and just enjoyed the view. Overall we found the food to be fine, and the drinks were good! If we were to go back we would probably go a bit earlier, and just stick with drinks and starters! Definitely worth checking out for the view and atmosphere if you are staying in Madalena (but just be prepared to spend a chunk of time there).

This is a must-see-place in Madalena in Pico. The food is absolutely great, service staff is polite and the location is just, you know what’s the saying - location, location, location. Beautiful views on the sea and Faial island, sitting on the terrace just a meter from the sea shore, hearing the sea waves. The only sad point here is the prices - glass of wine varies from €8.50-€12.50, meals are not cheap either. But still you will not regret if you visit Cella Bar.

We visited this place for its amazing view and atmosphere. However, despite sitting on the terrace for an hour and kindly asking the staff multiple times to bring the wine before sunset, our order was delivered exactly one hour later, after sunset, when it had already become quite cold outside. It was very disappointing considering there weren’t many customers at the time given the setting and our expectations.

⸻ Stopped by for a quick bite and everything was really nice. The food was fresh and tasty, and the overall atmosphere with the sea view was pleasant. A great little spot for a casual meal!

My wife enjoyed this more Than I did. Service was so slow and rude. Unfortunately they were out of a few dishes that we would have wanted and the shrimp was overcooked. But loved the beef pica pau

The restaurant is great. We arrived before 1830 so we couldn’t enjoy the great food unfortunately. So that is why we have to give the food 3 stars. We enjoyed the 3 cheeses with our wine tasting which cost us about 20€ per person for 4 wines. This is highly recommended as you have a nice tasting with an amazing view. The 3 cheeses were nice and served well. However we ordered bread, which we received, but without any butter or oil for example… This could be improved during the day. All in all a good restaurant with a beautiful view of faial. Definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Gorgeous place, gorgeous views, wonderful food. The building itself has been featured in magazines for its beautiful architecture. The location is perfect: views of the ocean and the neighboring island, Faial to one side, and stunning views of Mt. Pico on the other side. The food is great we particularly enjoyed the platter of locals cheeses with honey and figs.
