Are you wandering around Spain trying to find that setting that you have read about in books and seen in Nancy Meyers movies? You know, that one where the 40-to-50-something lovers finally drink enough wine to take another chance at love during a European vacation? Search no more!
Cellar Ca'n Carrossa Nou is such a hidden gym, we lived across the street for a week before finding it. I even had our AirBnB hostess grab my head and point at it, and I still didn't see it. It looks just like the surrounding houses, but you walk through the indoor dining area and out into the back garden and there you are: A rustic, five-star dining experience under the Balearic stars.
There is no menu. Twenty five euros gets you five courses prepared by a chef so great, I forgot to ask for her/his name. Tourists beware, the wait staff are doing the typical Spanish invisibility act and will only appear when they are asked for or when they bring a dish. The light and reflection from the pool in the back provides incredible ambiance, and after a punchbowl-sized gin and tonic, you will never want to leave. Then they bring you the food, which is incredible. We had ran the gamut of veggie, chicken, beef and fish. We topped that with dessert. I don't think there is a vegetarian option, so be prepared to enjoy the bread and the booze. I got the impression that these folks would be able to hook you up with some badass wine to accompany their badass food.
So, yeah, you get your money's worth. If you are in Lloseta, eat here. If you are on Majorca, eat here. If you are thinking about going to Majorca, go, then eat here. Then, and only then, will you realize the love you have been searching for has been right in front of you all along.
P.S. They open at, like, 20:00 and don't take reservations.
