Great place to stay for the night, very well located, friendly host. We really enjoyed our stay here, comfortable bed and good breakfast. Host were very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the shops. We did the smithwick tour, which was fun. Not an active brewery anymore, but they do a nice job of telling you the history and teaching you about their brewing process.

We visited one night during our Ireland roadtrip. It was very nice. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice room, quiet location. Short walk to the river and the castle. The room was comfy, the breakfast great. Only the Walls were a little thin so you could hear everyone moving in the house, but that wasnt a Problem. Would stay there again.

A nice bed and breakfast ideally located between the city center and the station. The room and bathroom were clean. If you have a light sleep I would recommend bringing earplugs, soundproofing isn't the best. The host was welcoming and convenient, we had a leave early and he offered to make breakfast 15min before the usual start. I would definitely come back!

Lovely building with loads of character. The hosts were excellent as was the breakfast.|Rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. Location was very central to downtown on a quiet back street. Parking is around the corner.|Highly recommend. We hope to be able to stay here again.

Good location and friendly hosts, this B&B is a good choice for a short stay. We happened to be there during a warm spell and unfortunately the fan and lights were on the same switch, so it couldn’t be left on at night which made it a bit warm. Otherwise, everything was comfortable and good during our stay. Breakfast was delicious with the option of a full Irish breakfast and a vegetarian Irish breakfast as well as continental breakfast options.

We had a fantastic time here. The rooms were spotless, huge, well decorated, well stocked with towels, coffee, tea, and creamer, and more importantly... Super Comfortable! The owners were so welcoming and accommodating and their Full Irish Breakfast was delicious and filling, accompanied by amazing toast and tea or coffee. We had to leave before breakfast to catch our train and they gave us some great fruit to go. Absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Srayed for one night and would stay longer no problem. Great location within 2 minutes of the main street. Very pleasant and friendly hosts. Our room was spotless clean and cozy. A delicious breakfast set us up for the rest of our day. Car park is a great asset. Will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
The location is its best feature. Very very close to downtown city center area and the tourist attractions. Excellent fast Wi-Fi connection as there's not much to watch on TV so connect to the Internet. Try not to get room 1 on the 1st floors as it fronts the street and you may be bothered by the traffic and people walking up-and-down the sidewalk at night. The owner has published several books which you can buy at the B&B. We got a full Irish breakfast which was excellent.

Yelp
Terrible experience with Celtic house. We had booked 2 double rooms for Sat night 3 weeks in advance. When booking my credit card and phone number was taken. I got no email conformation so I called on the Thursday before we were due to arrive and was told all was ok with the rooms we booked. When we arrived to check in we were told that our credit card failed on the Friday (day before) and they gave our rooms to someone else, NOT sure why they wouldnt have checked this when we booked?. So we had traveled all the way to Kilkenny with my mother in law and had no where to stay... as it was the weekend of the All Ireland final all accommodation close to the City was booked. I suspect they got an offer of letting out the rooms for a longer period and decided it was worth bumping our one nights accommodation so they could make more money. Hope people find somewhere else to stay that has more ethical practices, so maybe they will also arrive to no room :(

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at Celtic House Aug 2013 and enjoyed our stay, wonderful breakfast, close to town center. Wanted a reservation for 6 June 2015 but no availability.
