We recently stayed at the Celtic Royal Hotel with our dog, and we have to say, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully decorated and well looked after, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The food was superb; we had both breakfast and dinner, and everything was delicious. The hotel really caters well for dog owners, too – they provided a lovely dog bed, a bowl, and even a little doggy gift bag with a ball and treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. We also made use of the spa, and it was lovely – a perfect way to unwind and relax after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly and eager to help with any questions we had, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location was perfect as well – plenty of parking, a shop just across the road, and only a short walk into the town centre. There are also plenty of lovely walking spots nearby, which was great for us and our dog. All in all, we’d highly recommend the Celtic Royal Hotel to anyone looking for a dog-friendly getaway. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

Christmas Lunch |To be honest our expectations weren't overly high after reading the reviews from the previous year but we were staying in the area and in fairness the price was reasonable at just under £60 a head. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar- surprised to see it empty. The bar and restaurant are smart enough but the place just lacked atmosphere- radio on in bar and no Christmas vibe other than the jumpers worn by staff. The food was basic and some of our special dietary requirements were missed altogether. The staff are friendly enough but not really what you'd expect of a spa hotel- certainly no passion or enthusiasm for making it a special day. Despite being seated in the restaurant you had to return to the bar to get your drinks. The food was frozen- dry turkey basic vegetables and it feels like they are doing basic meals on the cheap. Mind you it was £27 for a basic bottle of Pinot!|So what would I have done differently |To be honest it's down to poor management |When people arrived welcome them with a glass of something |Show them to the bar- have a nice tree and make an effort. Xmas music not radio! |Improve the cooking and quality- take tips off other places that can make things feel better without huge cost. It's as much about atmosphere and being welcoming and enthusiastic about your role even if you are working Christmas Day. On finishing think about guiding people back into the bar not home after an hour or so! A singer in the bar Xmas quiz etc |Don't up the price unless you up the game- a lot ! At that price I'd say it was cheap and not so cheerful and could have been much much better with relatively straight forward hospitality skills and customer service. It's a hotel with great potential but needs managers who have worked in great hotels with ideas and vision. |For the record I love this hotel- I grew up in it as a child and my parents worked there when it was a great hotel somewhere the town can be proud of-so I want to see it meet its full potential- sadly at the moment it's not.....

This was my first stay at this hotel as part of a line dancing weekend. It is very convenient for the town, bars and restaurants and the castle which is very impressive. There is a lovely walk along the water front around the castle. Our meals were served in the ballroom as there were so many of us. Breakfast was buffet style and i could not fault the choices of cooked food, juices and cereals. Our evening meals gave a choice of 3 starters mains and desserts. Again the choices were excellant and the quality of the food was impressive. The service from the waiting staff was 5 star, nothing too much trouble. Our check in was flawless and the receptionist was happy to provide directions into town. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, our only problem was that we did not have a walk into shower, but i will request one when we return. I didnt use the pool as there wasnt enough time but i did look in and it was very inviting.

Visited for an evening meal. The building is grand and clearly well maintained. The reception area is warm and welcoming and the young lady Jude on reception was very friendly. The bar we ate at was beautiful, again very warm and Klaudia and Chris (I think that was their names) were very funny and cheeky, quite the dynamic duo! The food was fab, the drinks were great but the team of staff you have working there make that building a hotel. True credits to you, thanks again!

Absolutely lovely hotel. Fantastic location and big free car park. Staff are the friendliest and so helpful. Food in the restaurant was exceptional and breakfast was top class too. The spa is also lovely to relax in after exploring. We will definitely come back here. Thanks everyone x

What a lovely hotel and staff. We stayed with our husky and felt super welcome. Even had our own ‘private’ dining dog friendly area super nicely sorted as an alternative because we can’t go in the restaurant with dogs. Also left a goodie bag for our Skye and provided a bed and a bowl for her to use during the stay. Totally recommend this hotel. What a lovely surprise

10 of us came here for a family meal over the Christmas period. I had talked with the events organiser before who had helped sort out a menu and made sure all people, including those wanting vegan food, were catered for. When we arrived the table was set for us and looked festive. The staff were helpful. The food was freshly cooked and very good with no massive wait between course. ( Useful when you have younger children in the group.) All in all a lovely experience. Thank you to everyone involved.

The Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon has some excellent features, particularly its location. Being so close to the town centre and offering convenient on-site parking makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. The communal public areas are very well-maintained and quite impressive, though, unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the rooms, which feel very dated and in need of modernisation. The food was a definite highlight, with the BBQ wings being especially delicious. However, the service in the restaurant was incredibly disjointed. Starters arrived after the mains, and each person in our group received their food around 10 minutes apart, which made for a frustrating dining experience. One standout part of our stay was the fantastic lady working at reception. She was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She is truly a credit to this hotel and to the hospitality industry as a whole. The pool, sauna, and steam room are excellent facilities—clean, well-maintained, and a real bonus to the stay. Overall, I’d consider staying here again because of the great location and facilities, but I would hope for a more modern and comfortable room next time.

Yelp
Staff was friendly upon waking in. Hotel is neat looking from the pictures but upon pulling in... We can see that photos online can be very deceiving. This was booked on Expedia and looked to be a great spot based on 884 Trip Advisor reviews and 4.5 stars. Errrrr wrong. Room smells like cheese and is hot as balls. There is an "A/C" in the room but the control to use it is kept at the front desk and they'll bring it to you so you can use it, but it goes back with them. Well, after all that you find out it doesn't work any way but they'll bring you fans, but no outlets near the bed to plug them in. Furniture is filthy, old, and dirty. Spots on walls and doors. Pillows are a joke. Don't book.

Yelp
This had to be the worst experience of my holiday Rooms need updating and are dirty The air conditioner did not work and the window open inwards over the kitchens do was useless to open They have one remote for the AC at reception and you have to call room service for an adjustment on a unit that didn't work anyway It was like a Monte Python episode

Yelp
This place is well presented and has a friendly staff up front. It appears to be the place to stay in Caernafon, there were several different groups staying and a wedding going on when we stayed last night! I enjoyed sitting in the different lounge rooms adjoining the lobby and the bar, and thought the place was well put together. The rooms are standard and clean, and breakfast was pretty standard. No complaints!
