Celtic Royal Hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel was very clean and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Good car parking. The room was spacious with limited amenities. The facilities such as pool, sauna, steam room were great however, the jacuzzi which is always great one to have when deciding on a hotel when on holiday wasn’t working properly on the first day and on the second day was was completely out of order! Not great for a bank holiday weekend! The bistro was looking very old and outdated like a shack on a beachside. We had dinner which was good through the vegetarian menu was limited in terms of choice and the fish we ordered was very good and so was the lamb dish! The waiter if service was good! I was unhappy about having to pay for my drinks and food separately when we ordered it all together! And they wouldn’t put it on my room either!! Why?? The breakfast was a standard buffet, Nothing special! Overall I think the place needs a full makeover as it’s old and very tired looks can be off putting! I feel it too expensive for what it is and offers! Website photos are deceiving!

I hosted my first dance break at this hotel - 95 dancers in total. |As soon as we all arrived at the hotel we were met with a smile and warm welcome. Staff wonderful throughout our whole stay. Food was excellent. Large spacious clean rooms and a fabulous large ballroom . Absolutely faultless. All the dancers (from all over the UK) want to go again

The only positive is that a few of the staff are pleasant, unfortunately that’s about the only positive. Check in was pretty efficient, reception area old but tidy…..||Room - Hopelessly dated with stained chair, 3 beds and carpets that looked like they had been fitted by Stevie Wonder.||Bathroom was clean-ish apart from a free extra, a dirty coffee cup; shower mixer looked like it was out of the early 90s and it was impossible to get a temperature above lukewarm (in desperate need of upgrading).||Breakfast was not great either; very limited fruit choices; rubbery eggs and low quality other choices, we ate out after the first morning.||In summary, it’s a nice old building in desperate need of a full modernisation, it’s not too much to expect hot water in the rooms and decent food. The asset has been well and truly sweated beyond its sell by date…..

Disappointing Stay – Needs Significant Improvement||The hotel’s central location is undoubtedly its greatest asset — everything is easily accessible, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, this is where most of the positives end.||The room itself was below the standard I expected. The bathroom was outdated and not well maintained. Even more concerning, the windows wouldn’t close properly, and we had to use towels to block the cold air. The beds were uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's rest. One of the amenities I had specifically looked forward to, the spa area, was out of order during my stay — a major let down.|Small and not nice changing rooms, to lock the locker you had to pay extra. ||Breakfast was particularly disappointing. The food quality was very poor: overcooked fried eggs, low-quality bacon, and only one pot of strawberry jam for all guests — with no marmalade at all. While the tinned beans and tomatoes were passable, the overall breakfast experience fell far below what I would expect from a hotel of this kind.||Service was inconsistent. One staff member in the breakfast area — originally from Romania — was warm, helpful, and professional. He was a true credit to the hotel. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were neither friendly nor attentive, which added to the overall feeling of neglect.||In summary, this was an underwhelming stay. Unless significant improvements are made in both facilities and service, I would not consider returning.

We loved it so much, it deserves 5 full stars. Good breakfast, nice table set up for us by the library so we could enjoy it with our furry, he had his own bed provided by the hotel. The swimming pool gets crowded at times, but at 7am could be all yours! Great parking space, location, super breakfast.. posh hotel. The showers are amazing... but I am a nature lover so I tried to not take too much advantage of the full shower pressure which was the best I encountered in any hotel.|Thank you to all staff at the hotel.

Great location, however the rooms look dated and tired, the rooms are also very warm and there is no equipment or technology available immediately. The staff are available and the reception staff are pleasant and warm. We had breakfast both mornings for our stay, the menu isn't the biggest but covers the solid basics. If only the grandeur of the front entrance matched the entire hotel it could be a special stay

This hotel is certainly one we will return to. One of the best we have stayed in. Outstanding ! Arrived and was warmly welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who helped with surprising my sister when she turned up for her surprise 60th. Our rooms (3) were all perfect, comfortable and clean. We used the pool and even took my 86 year old mum swimming as there was proper steps and a rail. The restaurant/staff was excellent. Good food and exceptional, friendly service. As was the bar !!!! Only one thing I would add to the bathroom, (there are disabled rails) but I would also add a rubber bath mat to the bath. Overall, a fantastic stay and we had the best time ever. Can't rate this hotel highly enough and we are looking forward to going back for longer and exploring the area more. Thank you so much everybody. See you soon !!!

Really recommend this hotel. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty. Went swimming in the pool every day, very clean. The room was very comfortable. Live music at the bar at dinner time was a bonus! Walking distance to the beach and only 20 minutes drive to Snowdon mountain and the mountain train. Celtic royal hotel made our holiday really nice.

Staff was friendly upon waking in. Hotel is neat looking from the pictures but upon pulling in... We can see that photos online can be very deceiving. This was booked on Expedia and looked to be a great spot based on 884 Trip Advisor reviews and 4.5 stars. Errrrr wrong. Room smells like cheese and is hot as balls. There is an "A/C" in the room but the control to use it is kept at the front desk and they'll bring it to you so you can use it, but it goes back with them. Well, after all that you find out it doesn't work any way but they'll bring you fans, but no outlets near the bed to plug them in. Furniture is filthy, old, and dirty. Spots on walls and doors. Pillows are a joke. Don't book.

This had to be the worst experience of my holiday Rooms need updating and are dirty The air conditioner did not work and the window open inwards over the kitchens do was useless to open They have one remote for the AC at reception and you have to call room service for an adjustment on a unit that didn't work anyway It was like a Monte Python episode

This place is well presented and has a friendly staff up front. It appears to be the place to stay in Caernafon, there were several different groups staying and a wedding going on when we stayed last night! I enjoyed sitting in the different lounge rooms adjoining the lobby and the bar, and thought the place was well put together. The rooms are standard and clean, and breakfast was pretty standard. No complaints!
