Cempedak Island

From the staff to the incredibly beautiful island, to the food, the brilliant cocktails, the overall atmosphere….this is the best place we have ever stayed. ||Never had a warmer welcome than the one we received as we stepped on to Cempedak Island! ||The food was exceptional and it was a lot of fun trying so many Indonesian dishes! One of my favourite times of each day was being told the menu, by Rafly, for the next meal time (eg, after breakfast they’d tell you the lunch menu) , made me so excited to come back and eat! ||Gaspar makes some brilliant cocktails and really knows his flavours, asking for a mystery cocktail was never a risk and only an exciting surprise each time! ||Playing card games in the evenings with the legends that work there was one of the highlights. Getting to know Esme and Jimmy was so lovely and them showing us a new game called wizard (we have since bought it) was fantastic! ||The villas were amazing and we loved the open plan aspect of each one, it meant falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and that was a memorable and novel aspect of the trip. ||Semual was fab at checking in regularly to make sure if we needed anything, his attentiveness was great! ||As 2 people that work in healthcare we are regularly looking for a place to relax and decompress, it’s safe to say we have found THE place! ||We felt safe, relaxed and truly looked after! ||Cempedak we will be back!

Our family enjoyed an unforgettable holiday on Cempedak Island. The resort exudes a delightful, barefoot charm, creating an informal and laid-back atmosphere. The villas are stunning—lavish, luxurious, and incredibly comfortable. We didn't mind the absence of air conditioning at all, enjoying the sensation of being outdoors at all times; there's always a nice breeze, and the soothing sound of the sea. The food is outstanding, effortlessly tailored to our preferences. However, what truly sets Cempedak apart is its exceptional staff. They are incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive, making our experience truly outstanding. It’s clear that they genuinely love working there, contributing to an inviting and joyful environment.

We stayed for 4 days at their beautiful beach villa and had a truly memorable experience. The reservation and payment process was smooth and hassle-free, handled easily via email. Their reservation department also clearly explained how to purchase ferry tickets and arrange land transfers, which made our journey seamless from start to finish.||Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jimmy, the island manager, and Kem, the restaurant manager. Kem took the time to understand our food preferences and dietary requirements in detail, ensuring every meal suited us perfectly.||All our requests during the stay could be conveniently sent through iMessage using the iPad provided in the room — a very thoughtful and modern touch. At the restaurant, Kem and Aorora always greeted us with big smiles and genuine warmth, which made us feel truly at home.||The entire team was attentive and took excellent care of us throughout our stay. We left feeling relaxed, well looked after, and eager to return. Highly recommended!

This was exactly the short getaway my husband & I needed! Some peace & quiet, with almost no distraction! Spent most of our time in our beautiful Robinson Crusoe-like seaview villa with the perfectly warm temperature pool! But there’s so many things to love about this resort other than just the accommodation… Meal times were always something to look forward to coz it’s something different every time! Kudos to the chef for all the delicious dishes… my fav was the three-types of tempeh! As for drinks, a must-try is the ginger mojito (virgin for me)!||You also can’t leave Cempedak Island without going to their spa! They have the nicest treatment room that I have ever been to! The spectacular view & sea breeze complete the relaxing experience… oh, and you can get a buggy to bring you there & back!||We want to share how impressed we are with the resort’s commitment to sustainability too, everything is well thought through. And we were not left wanting for anything!||Last but not least, we just want to say that it’s really the staff & their high standards of service that made our stay most memorable. They are all so friendly, personable & full of initiative. When they heard it was my birthday month, they surprised me on our last night with a birthday song as they served dessert & had our bed nicely decorated! Am truly touched by the efforts… Thank you to Jimmy, Kem, Aurora, Rafly, Eka, Roy, Jaslan, Melawati for taking such good care of us & so sorry that we didn’t catch everyone’s names!

Writing this review on day 2 of 4. The hospitality here is impeccable. The staff really take the effort to remember each guest and their preferences. They are always happy to go above and beyond to ensure you have a good stay. Special shoutout to Pak Cam and Rafly from the restaurant for being so attentive. (We told him we don’t really like peanuts and he remembers it and made other arrangements for us + always remembering the sambal!) Special shoutout to Pak Semuel for always looking out for us! Not forgetting Lulu for always bringing that extra energy! Writing this on day 3 of 4. The staff specially arranged for us to have a wonderful dinner under the stars by the jetty. Alfis was so kind and sweet, being so attentive to our needs, walking back and forth from the restaurant to the jetty to make sure we had everything we needed. Great night all thanks to the team who came down to the jetty to celebrate our birthdays with us. 10/10 experience, you gotta try the dinner under the stars!

Living in Singapore we have been lucky enough to visit on several occasions over the years and this is a place that never disappoints. Consistently outstanding. The staff are always delightful, the food is fabulous, the spa amazing and the island as a whole is a dream. It’s where we feel the most relaxed. Book three nights minimum to maximise your stay. Pack a toothbrush and something to swim in and you’re good to go….the only downside is having to leave!

Unforgettable Escape From start to finish, our stay at this resort was exceptional. Despite staying for only three nights, we found ourselves wishing we could extend our visit. The attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction was evident in every aspect of our experience. The resort's culinary offerings were truly outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our time here was as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Nestled in a serene and picturesque setting, the island offers a peaceful retreat where nature unfolds before your eyes. Mornings are filled with sounds of birds singing, while the local kingfisher can be spotted perched on the rocks during low tide. We hope to be returning again very soon.
