I have been to this Cenote over a half of a dozen times and it never creases to amaze me. The cenote is clean and the tour is perfect. They have several places you can eat and the food is good. Highly recommend Cenote. The staff is veryyyyyyy friendly and depending what you want to do, this place is for all age groups. The basic tour can take anywhere between 3 to 4 hrs.

One of the largest rooms I’ve encountered while diving. Tee left has huge saltwater passages in enormous white wall caves., tee right has enormous rooms with columns that are the biggest I’ve ever seen.

Great place to visit in Tulum. They have 4 different cenotes, the tour last about 90 minutes but after that you can stay until they close. They also have kayaking and a restaurant

Great experience. I would repeat it again and again. Amazing staff, and very well prepared guide. Bring your GoPro, or a sleeve to put your phone underwater to take amazing pictures/videos. 10/10

Great cave dive. Will be back!

Do not come here. This is a duplicate at the wrong location. Google "cenote casa tortuga" for the correct location.

Yelp
We loved doing this cenote tour. The water was awesome and the swimming was fun. Not scary at all. And didn't have to swim much under water. The jumps were good and the final spot was great. I really am hooked on cenotes now.

Yelp
Fantastic time! That's right, I had a fantastic time at Cenote Tortuga near Tulum, Mexico. Enjoyed the experience here with my amazing wife, relatives, and friends. We were a group of about twelve, and we had a guide all to ourselves. Normally, I am not a fan of any activity that has to do with water because I am a lousy swimmer. This activity, though, was something that I thoroughly enjoyed. The price was more than fair. Included a guide, swimming and exploring four cenotes (you can google what cenote means), goggles, and life jacket. Highly recommend exploring Cenote Tortuga if you have the chance. They are worth the price of admission.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this cenote experience, more so than some of the less "natural" ones around Tulum. It only cost about $20 per person (cash only) and our small group paid an extra $20 to get a private tour. If you want to take your time exploring and taking pictures I would suggest paying extra for the private tour guide! There was a bit of confusion when we first got there due to the language barrier - we almost paid for lockers then realized we could just leave our stuff in our car. They also made it seem like we couldn't bring our phones but our tour guide helped us leave & grab our stuff throughout the different caves. There are four cenotes. The first was my favorite and probably the easiest for pictures since it was completely open. The other 3 were caves, where we swam through to one opening and came out on the other side. Ladies, your entire body will get submerged underwater so don't wear too much makeup. Got to see some bats which I did not expect! Overall a cool experience, and the water was very clear and beautiful. Right outside the cenote areas there are some bars and restaurants that you can chill at before or after your tour.

Yelp
Cenote casa tortuga is a great place if you're looking to hit many cenotes for a good price! For three of us, it was 1950 pesos for four gorgeous cenotes and zip lining. You could spend just two hours here or all day! Two cenotes go through caves where you are required to be with the guide and wear a life jacket. The other two cenotes are huge and you may return without your guide and stay as long as you like. The zip line was fun and easy, going between two towers. You could see a lot of the jungle and you even pass over a cenote. You must take a shower before going into the cenotes because sunscreen and other stuff on your skin can damage the water's health. There's also a restaurant and a few more places for snacks and drinks. It's cash only (when I went).

Yelp
We had an excellent time, but we did get some tips ahead of time. First we hired the taxi driver to stay and wait for us - which let us enjoy the Cenotes and then we had a for sure ride back. That was key. Second we hired the small tour guide - it is unnecessary but it gave us a chance to have a smaller group and he told us little stories about the area and about the Mayan culture, which was informative. We did not buy the pictures even though we didn't really have anything to show we were there. Also you have to take a cold shower before getting in the water - no biggie, I just didn't realize it was a thing. We didn't do a lot on our trip, but this was one of the big highlights.

Yelp
Fun time at Casa Tortuga Tulum. Really loved experiencing the four cenotes at this location. Our guide named Kevin who was really nice and very helpful with our friend who was a non swimmer. We did not do a private tour and didn't feel overcrowded with our group. We spent an adequate amount of time at each cenote. They have lockers to store your things. I would recommend bringing your own towel, waterproof cellphone case protector, and swimming shoes. They provide life vests. A photographer travels with your group and our pictures turned out nice. A little pricey but try and get many photos with your group so you can split the cost. Get there early to avoid crowds. Overall nice experience and would return again.

Yelp
We felt this tour would give us the best for the money and it didn't disappoint. The guide was good - we did have to request him to provide instructions in English which he did flawlessly. We swam, we walked, we jumped in all of the cenotes! Very beautiful natural water and cold!! It was bearable and almost comfortable. I would recommend water shoes and something waterproof to carry your phone, we did neither and wish we did. Parking was easy if you have a rental car. Make sure you bring 50 or 100 pesos for the lockers to store your valuable that you don't want to get wet or take with you. Enjoy it!

Yelp
Beautiful but WAAAAY overpriced! Has we not already gotten off the colectivo and made the walk back there on the recommendation of a shuttle driver e would have left. $30 to go swimming?!?! No f'ing way. I've been to about 10 cenotes on the Yucatán and this was by far the most expensive and was no different. I actually preferred cenote Azul, which is $7.

Yelp
easily one of the must do things when coming to tulum. The tortuga cenote was extremely close to our hotel ( less than 15 mins drive ), we were also able to buy admission tickets [ admission/tour guide/ and a few others items ] at sale discount through our hotel... short drive, admission at sale discount, made this fun outing a no brainer. there big signs along the freeway, you will go through to a few "gates" the first one is pretty quick, the guard will tell you which way to go, since there aren't many signs and is a dirt road. in the 2nd gate or "check in reception", we parked and gave the people behind the desk/lobby our receipt from the hotel, we also had wristbands provided by the hotel. finally arriving to the "estacionamiento" or parking lot, there is a shack where the tour guides are waiting. there are lockers, bathrooms, outdoor showers, a small restaurant. heads up, if you have put on sunscreen or bug spray, you will need to rinse off before leaving for the cenotes. there are 3 total cenotes at tortuga, hmm... tortuga? isn't that the spanish word for turtle? yup! are there any around? we asked... nope, so the cenotes on the map have a turtle shape hence the name. they asked if you want a photographer in addition to the tourguide but blah... we had our gopro and we just asked our tourguide to take photos for us. tips: get there early! the cenotes will be more beautiful with less people around, our group was 4 people, i can't imagine 12 people swimming around. the waters are crystal clear and we even saw bats and plenty of fish! tips, also bring a water flashlight for better lighting when going in the dark areas, not so bad since the tour guide has one. there are also some cool places to jump or dive in the cenotes! thank you again casa tortuga cenote staff, we had a great time!!! oh almost forgot... the lockers required a $3 usd deposit, refundable! also bring watershoes, and something to hangon to the key... and goggles!

Yelp
What a great deal! 4 cenotes for $25, which included life vest, googles and an hour tour (15 min per cenote). It is crowded but super efficiently run, so you won't wait long or be anywhere too packed. It is cash only, so be prepared. There is also a bar at first cenote where can run tab, which is good cause after tour is over you can go back to any cenote to hang out and the first one is best set up for this. The first two cenotes are open air and easily accessible. There are steps, low platforms and high platforms to jump from. Lots of fun. The last two cenotes require going underground a bit and through some caves, but you never go completely underwater. The settings are stunning and will make you want to take lots of pics to show what an amazing time you are having in a fabulous place. Lockers available at front to store stuff, make sure to wear water shoes. No sun tan lotion allowed.

Yelp
VERY DISAPPOINTED. With all the cenotes in the area to choose from, I will never return or recommend this place again. Compared to my first visit 3 years ago, it was a completely different experience in the worst way. The first time was great, hence visiting again and bringing friends along this time (Nov. 17, 2023). Completely greedy money grab now! First, the entrance fee is around $30 USD, which would be fine, but they now limit your access to only two of the seven cenotes unless you buy a tour option. They immediately insist on paying more, on top of the entrance fee, for a guided tour (20-30 people in a cenote all at once!), or even more for a private tour. The last time with just the entrance fee, we were able to explore all of the cenotes on our own, but most importantly, not rushed. We wanted our friends to see all the cenotes, so we reluctantly agreed to a guided tour. We were immediately annoyed by having to wait for 20+ people to gather and receive life jackets. We finally started with the first cenote, which took so much time to get through due to the size of the tour navigating through a small body of water. The cenotes are amazing, but being rushed and bumping into strangers completely took away from the experience. After the first cenote, our group of friends decided we weren't going to be rushed anymore, so we decided to break free from the tour. A man with an unpleasant attitude, who I'm assuming was the manager that day, began to scold us and told us we had to return our life jackets, as well as reminding us that we couldn't visit certain cenotes since we were opting out of the tour. One of our friends can't swim, so we asked the employee if he could keep just his for safety; he said no in a very uncaring way and snatched it away. We managed to find another life jacket, thankfully, and made the most of the little time we were left with there. What's the point of their entrance fee if you can't enjoy the cenotes?! Never again.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS CENOTE!!!! I first visited in Aug. 2021 & returned with my kids in Feb. 2022 and they loved it as well!!!! Tommy is my favorite tour guide (the only one I've had, but they were all very friendly), as she was very patient, funny, and kind. She even remembered me when I returned months later! She made me feel at ease while on the group tour since I admitted I am not the most avid swimmer, and her patience really calmed my nerves, little did she know. The 4 cenotes (2 being open and 2 being closed) were beautiful!!!!!!! It was so exciting and exhilarating swimming through each cenote and learning of the history. Life vests are provided. Zip lining was 2 lines, but you can go as often as you'd like. Restaurant food was moderately priced and taste was O.K. Fee was cash only although you can buy tickets online as well, but it was very reasonably priced. Best to come in a car/transportation because it is far to walk from the road to the ticket box to the cenotes. Transportation leaving is give or take ~ taxi or even bus is fine, but remember you're in Tulum, which is an hour from Playa del Carmen itself, so even further from Cancun. $3 for a locker and be sure to bring water shoes and goggles if you need them, as you do a lot of walking on rocks and goggles are no longer provided (because of COVID). Every time I'm in the area, I'll be back here!!!!!! I LOVE IT!

Yelp
Fantastic Cenote experience near Tulum! Not far from Tulum and you can get a cab or drive there. I paid 400 pesos to get in but includes a guide, 3 cenotes, and snorkeling gear. The guide we had was fantastic and fun. He really did a great job with explaining each cenote and the area. It was really fun exploring and swimming in the cenotes. They also have a bar at the second cenote so you can relax and grab a drink! They have restaurant, gift shop and lockers if needed.

Yelp
It was a little confusing to find and doesn't look like much when you first arrive. Glad we went, our guide Thomas was awesome! 4 cenotes and after the tour we were able to go back and swim and jump from platforms. Great day!!!

Yelp
Yep - still found this place super cool, but looking to share that in a couple of days following my visit, I had a RAGING outer ear infection which required a doc visit and antiobiotic, not to mention it was very painful. It was raining during our visit and I suspect the rain water runoff stirred up all the little bacteria in the water making it ripe for infecting my ear! Nevertheless, a really neat place! Just beware and clean your ears VERY WELL!

Yelp
Our visit to cenote tortuga was amazing! Pay at the first reception $400 pesos per person (22$ with our exchange rate of 18). That gets you a guide, life jacket & snorkel for the trip through 4 cenotes. 1 is open air with 2 jumping points & several walk in & outs. It's basically a semi circle. If not a strong swimmer I suggest use of life vest. The other 3 are through caves. All are gorgeous! Must wear life vest through these. No tight squeezes but cave ceiling low at times. Felt totally safe with Alberto our guide & he was extremely nice & made the trip so much fun! I highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
This Cenote is definitely worth it! It is very close to the center of Tulum. It is a fun and unforgettable aquatic experience. Only about 15-20 mins away from downtown Tulum. It costs $400 Mexican pesos per person and you will visit a total of 4 cenotes. You will be given life jackets, snorkeling goggles, and a locker for a small deposit. You will leave all your belongings in the locker and take only your shoes. You will swim in underwater caves and in crystal clear beautiful freshwater pools. You will also have the opportunity to jump off rocks into the cenote! The whole tour is a magical experience! Tip: get there early! They open at 9am so get there at that time. You will have a smaller group of people in the cenote with you.

Yelp
Great experience! We paid $24 per person which included 4 cenotes with tour guide, life vest and goggles. Our tour guide Rollie (El Cubano) was fun, funny and very informative. We jumped off 3 cliffs. The park is not too crowded like most places. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I liked my time at Cenote Tortuga. I took a Collectivo there for 20 Pesos. I had to walk quite a bit to get to the admissions and then had to walk more to actually get on the site. The signs were slightly confusing and not many people around since I went first thing in the morning. I eventually found my way and was put in a group with a Spanish speaking guide only. I can understand Spanish at 60% but some people in my group were English speaking only so it was not ideal. Cenotes were amazing, we saw bats and in the end, we got to jump off a huge cliff. I am afraid of heights so I wish they would have told me in advance or given me an option not to do it! The only thing that completely spoiled my memory of this experience was the photography. I had forgotten my phone to take pictures. The onsite photographer, Mari, was clicking away and at the end of the tour I decided to buy the photo package for $50 but because I did not bring enough money with me, they gave me their card and said I can purchase it online. I made the credit card payment of $50US dollars and only got the photos once I came home. I had viewed them and saw some very pretty photos( one or 2) that showed me flipping my long hair back in the water. The other photos were all terrible, the photographer was NOT good, terrible pictures. But I still paid the 50$ for those one or two good photos. Once i got back home to Canada they sent me the photos but had were missing!! I contacted them and they ignored me. They initially told me they gave me all the pictures but I can assure you they did not. I emailed them for one month trying to get my photos and they never replied! DO NOT USE THEIR PHOTOGRAPHER, that is stealing! I was quite broken-hearted since i am very careful with my money and basically just threw 62 canadian dollars in the garbage!!

Yelp
If your visiting Tulum I highly recommend visiting the Tortuga Cenotes! We had a private tour and our guide was very patient and did not rush us through the cenotes. There are 3 very different caves and 1 open cenote that you can jump off a ledge into the cenote (don't think too much about it) Our tour guide was great and took pictures of us and was VERY patient while us girls got the perfect pictures! There was cool bats in the ceiling of the caves. Some are really deep and some were very shallow. They make you wear a life jacket which is nice cause you can just float and enjoy the beauty. There are lockers to lock up your valuables and picnic tables if you want to bring a snack or a cooler full of some cervezas to enjoy after exploring. Great experience and when I go back to Tulum I will definitely be exploring more cenotes!!

Tanya M.

Yelp
Bought our tickets downtown near the shops $30 US dollars. They put us in a cab, which dropped us off on the main highway..... we were definitely not too sure about this place in the beginning. We walked a good ways, not really knowing if we were going the right way. Once we met our tour guide (Roly) we were at ease. They have a locker for you to rent while your there, you get your 50 pesos back once you return the lock. He took us to 4 cenotes (all very beautiful). Afterwards we had to walk back down the street to catch another cab back to the ruins 20 pesos each. All in all it was a fun experience! I'd recommend, but maybe take a taxi to and from.

Kristi H.

Yelp
This place was AMAZING!!!!! Most beautiful Cenote we found while in Tulum. Staff is kind of sketchy, feels uncomfortable walking up and there is like 10 guys just hanging out but the guides were knowledgeable and friendly when on the tour. Best part, after you tour the three cenotes you can make a day of it by packing towels and lunch. We spent the entire afternoon in the large/open Cenote. So refreshing, relaxing and fun. Don't miss this one. $400 pesos per person.

Liz G.

Yelp
One of the best parts of my trip to Tulum! this cenote was amazing. Our your guide was very friendly everyone was very kind and professional. After our tour we ate the most delicious food!!! Do not leave without eating here! You won't regret it! We also had margaritas which were pretty good as well. Overall amazing experience.

Yelp
Great place good staff . Beautiful and refreshing after a afternoon at Tulum ruins . Very interesting and a unique experience.
