This unique structure is made of steel wire, copper, and wood tablets with words, located near the historic Centennial Homestead, aka The Story Wall (also known as the Centennial Park Story Wall or Heritage Wall) in Sydney's Centennial Parklands, honouring Indigenous history and settler stories, a beautiful piece blending contemporary art with local heritage opposite the historic homestead and cannon site. Artist: Michael Mossman Designer: Stephen Johnson To acknowledge the diverse stories, people, and events that shaped Centennial Parklands, bridging Indigenous and colonial histories. (Courtesy: Dr Google) The wooden posts that form the main structure seem to have some protrusions running down them, in some form of tactile message reminiscent of braille communication; couldn't 'read' it (would have appreciated a 'note' from the artist). Was an overcast day so the ambient light was not too sharp or ideal for photographs.

I’m genuinely baffled by the positive reviews for the Christmas meal. As regular visitors to Centennial Homestead for breakfast, our expectations were high. We attended the 4–6pm sitting and arrived at 4pm. We waited 20 minutes in a long line to be seated. Our table was positioned directly by the door and was uncomfortably cold. Unfortunately, the food was worse. Every item we tried was cold. Beef, turkey, ham and pumpkin — and the carrots were extremely undercooked. There were no roast potatoes available, and when some eventually appeared they were placed in the pumpkin tray diced up into small bit, also cold. The only warm food was the chicken from the kids’ station which one of us resorted to. It felt as though the food had been left out from earlier sittings. The maître d checked in around 90 minutes later and offered for the chef to prepare something fresh, but by then the experience was already ruined. Desserts were equally disappointing; the mince pies, chocolate cake and pavlova tasted store-bought. For $195 per person not including the drinks we paid for, not even a complimentary on arrival. Carrying the Centennial Homestead name, this was an unacceptable Christmas lunch. Easily the worst we’ve had and certainly not something we would return to or recommend.

Good food, good service, good view. Just that tables outside on a windy day could be a bit uncomfortable for some. Overall very good environment to enjoy a noon meal. Will go back when we bring our dog next time.

A decent spot to have lunch at Centennial. We were able to sit with our dog on the balcony part and enjoyed some sun, live music and good food. Service was ok, only downside I would say is that the tuna salad dish was overpriced in hindsight. But the rest of the food was good - and I love the dog menu!

I visit regularly, great cafe / restaurant / function centre in the wonderful setting of Centennial Park. As a management consultant I’d like to comment; it’s very well set up and the staff and managers are very good. Today I was very efficiently and pleasantly cared for by Jordy from Peru and the manager Andrea. Interesting food, exceptional ambiance. Pet friendly.

Thank you guys for a wonderful lunch! Staff are extremely friendly. Very attentive at what we ordered and when it was going to be ready, especially during peak lunch hour on a Sunday. Thank you Laura for reassuring that our food was on its way, made us feel looked after properly. The vibes and music were very enjoyable so it wasn't that long between courses for us. It was very comfortable experience. The food went above our expectations. Very well presented with stunning colours and the flavours blended perfectly for each dish we picked. The desserts were especially exceptional 👌 Check out the pics

You know you chose the right venue for your wedding when the first thing you hear from your guests are, "The food is amazing", "There is so much," and/or "This is one of the best meals I've had at a wedding." Food was such an important factor for our wedding and Centennial Homestead delivered. Thank you Lucy, Viviana, Azrin and team, you guys have absolutely outdone yourselves. There was clear communication from the very start to the very end. I never had an inkling of doubt as every handover between event coordinators was detailed and complete. My husband and I truly appreciated how the team managed our day and the staff on the night, TOP-TIER. I felt like a VIP, especially since I had staff approach me numerous times throughout the night, to make sure I wasn't parched. I highly recommend this venue to anyone planning their wedding because you can trust that you will be looked after, with warmth and sincerity.

Lovely atmosphere and views sat on the terrace at the back. Terri, Jesus, and Thiago are incredible members of staff - polite, friendly, always smiling and calm even though it got busy. Great coffee as always. The food was good, impressed by the amount of halloumi given as a side!! One of my favourite places in Sydney.

Yelp
I went to Homestead today with some mates - it was a bit busy so we went to the takeaway bar. They had a bacon & egg brekkie roll for $15. I'm veggie so asked if I could have haloumi instead of bacon - & then got slugged an ADDITIONAL $7. So, that was nice. Vegetarians have to pay $22 for the equivalent of what meat-eaters pay $15 for. Great - nice to see how comfortable they are ripping vegetarians off. The roll was tasty - but not $22 tasty. I won't be back

Yelp
This café/restaurant is great for a sunny day especially for a long breakfast, brunch or lunch. It can get quite busy though when the weather is nice so would be good to make a reservation. I came here for a lunch with a few friends, but it was quite rainy and we were seated outside. The waiters are friendly and accommodating, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the specials - the avocado and salmon soba, and the chocolate fondant, which were pretty good. Slightly pricier.

Yelp
Did not expect this. We rocked up for a quick breakfast at 11:30 Service and serving staff were A1. Very attentive and professional. I ordered the chilli scrambled eggs with my macchiato. Presentation could not have been better. The plate looked like an artwork and tasted just as good. Followed by a workmanlike coffee. Sarah had a pastry snail and tea. Beautifully served. Highly recommended.
