It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place, perfect for a relaxing walk, a family picnic, or just spending time outdoors. I loved how open and spacious it felt, with plenty of green areas to stretch out, relax, or play. The Parthenon replica adds a unique historical touch, and the walking trail around the lake is just right for a casual stroll or light exercise. It’s also super kid-friendly and dog-friendly, which made it even better. I saw families playing, couples relaxing, and dogs happily running around. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and enjoy the moment. Whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or just taking a solo break, this park truly has something for everyone. Highly recommend it if you’re ever in Nashville!

Google
This park in downtown Nashville was originally built to host a centennial exposition. It still has a replica Parthenon and some lovely gardens surrounding a small lake. There is a walking/jogging path, several statues of notables, and expansive lawn areas. Supposedly there is a bench dedicated to Taylor Swift, but I didn’t find it. It’s a lovely place to walk your dog on leash and admire the views throughout. I highly recommend visiting here on any visit to Nashville, Tennessee.

Google
Very spacious and well maintained. Perfect place for a picnic with the family. Parking is available, but it can fill up. There is some street parking just outside the park area. The Parthenon is pretty neat to see up close if you are there, and there is a museum entrance underneath at the front.

Google
This is a beautiful park and museum. If you've never seen the Athena, you MUST go into the Parthenon. I could've stared at her all day! The lake is majestic. The birds are very docile. We even saw a soft shell turtle laying her eggs!

Google
The live music concert series is so much fun! They have food trucks, and great musicians!!! we also decided to walk the park that night, which was so much fun because the weather was perfect. We are so grateful to have Centennial Park to enjoy.

Babita

Google
They have free parking around different access towards the park. It has nice one loop mile walkway around the lake. Lots of birds chirping with geese and ducking enjoying the water with tortoises. They even have story walk for the kids. The art museum has entrance fee but the structure outside is amazing. The lake was little smelling but enjoyed walking around it.

Google
A nice park to visit in your stay in Nashville. The parthenon is a nice museum with so much history. There was no wait to get in. Ticket is inexpensive. About 15 US dollars.

Google
The park was nice and decently maintained. The flowers were beautiful. Could use some more real bathrooms throughout, especially near the more crowded areas

Yelp
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful park accessible to downtown Nashville! I work nearby and we love to take walking meetings and enjoy the fresh air when the weather is nice. The renovations that the park completed to the front half of the park have been wonderful for walkability and really made the space look lovely. I can't wait for the renovations to the back half! The Parthenon is always a joy to see, no matter how many times I've seen it. I love our weird little Nashville landmark. Centennial Park is the home of one of my absolute favorite Nashville events - Musicians Corner. This series is several weekends in the spring and fall and represents everything I love about Nashville. Community, music, local businesses - everything comes together at these events. If I ever have guests on a Musicians Corner weekend, I insist that it is one of their Nashville activities. There are so many artists that I am still following that I say that I saw their Musicians Corner set years ago. The park also is a safe home for bees and has its own honey!! The honey makes a great unique gift.

Yelp
Centennial Park is another arboretum! After visiting the Parthenon, we walked the paths admiring all the beautiful trees and foliage. Reading the historical significance of each structure is always interesting. There were quite a few geese roaming around and a few hidden ducks. The squirrels are just everywhere. It's a very busy park, especially around the Parthenon. Aside from the geese poop on the walkways by the water, it's very well maintained.

Yelp
Lovely green space in Nashville! It's a large parks with lots of grassy lawn space for reading, sports, and activities, plenty of walking trails, a small picturesque lake, and the very impressive full scale replica of the Parthenon. I was a visitor from out of town, and my observation was that there was a good mix of students from nearby Vanderbilt, visitor/tourists coming to check out the park and art museum in the Parthenon, families, and large organization groups. There were a handful of food carts if you got hungry and wanted a bite to eat in the park. While I didn't go in for the art museum, I thought the Parthenon was really cool. I also enjoyed walking around the lake, and of course, checking out the bench dedicated to Taylor Swift. As a fan, it was fun to walk around and imagine Taylor doing the same before me. And by the way, green was the color of the grass! And gold was the color of (some of) the leaves!

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Another relaxing attraction. Some highlights are: 132 acres. The iconic Parthenon, a one-mile walking trail, Lake Watauga, the Centennial Art Center, historical monuments, an arts activity center, a beautiful sunken garden, a band shell, an events shelter, sand volleyball courts, dog park, and an exercise trail, etc. Also, it is the home of the Centennial Sportsplex. Atmosphere - See above. Service - Self service. Price - Free. Owner Comment - What a history. 1783 - Purchased by John Cockrill. 1884 - 1895 Race Track, West Side Park. 1897 - Tennessee Centennial Exposition. 1902 - Percy Warner, Nashville Railway and light company purchased 72 acres and gave it to the park board. 1916 - First community center. 1932 - Swimming pool. 1953 - Steam locomotive. 1961 - Fighter plane. 1963 - Croquet Club. 1972 - Swimming pool was converted to an art center. 1978 - Ice Centennial. Etc.

Yelp
There's a lot to love about Centennial Park ... not the least of which that Taylor Swift mentions it in a song. This is one of my favorite spots to bring out-of-town visitors, because it gives such a lovely picture of Nashville's nature side. We love bringing our dogs here for a stroll - and appreciate all of the easy-to-access walkways and green space. The park is well maintained, and it's not too hard to find parking if you're visiting on a non-event day. If you do have the chance to visit for an event, it's definitely worth it. We attended a Saturday edition of Musician's Corner and it was incredible! It's truly inspiring to see the city come together to enjoy live music in a beautiful setting. There were several food and drink vendors present as well - and most people grabbed a bite and found a spot on the lawn to sit and listen to the tunes. I firmly believe that Centennial Park is a must-visit for locals and travelers alike. What are you waiting for?! Get out and explore.

Yelp
It's nice to walk around if you are planning to just go for an easy walk. It's flat and has lots of ducks to look at. Thats pretty much all it is, not worth actively seeking out, but nice to visit if you're close by and wanting to go for a walk or run.
google avatar

Parnika N.

Yelp
Centennial Park is beautiful, located in the midtown. Its nice and lush green during spring and summer. Its a great place to sit and enjoy the Parthenon. The park has plenty of parking available. The lake has plenty of ducks, other birds and turtles. Its a must visit if you're in Nashville.
google avatar

Clarrisa N.

Yelp
A great place for the family. Two kid play areas, a Parthenon tour, vendors, water with a fountain and ducks, and of course lots of grassy areas. Highly suggest to take the tour.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
Probably my favorite places to take a walk or even a picnic. This location has tons of parking via lots and when it gets busy - people park on the grass. There is a 1 mile trail around a pound that house ducks, geese and birds. This man-made pound with all seasons so not the prettiest but nice with a fountain in the middle. The replica of the Parthenon is a sight to see when walking around it or sitting on the steps. During the week there are pick-up soccer games, vollleyball game along with roller skaters.

Yelp
Part of Vanderbilt University, this was a great treat to relax and admire the Pantheon. We were in Nashville only for a day and got there after they closed, so couldn't go in. It's a beautiful replica of the Archipolis that was also a replica of and nspired by Persepolis from ancient Iran. The columns and place looked so authentic, it sucked we couldn't go inside. Highly recommed visiting if you happen to be in or around Nashville!

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't written a review for this spot yet, I've been here so many times to walk, run, and generally hang out. Musician's Corner is a cool live music event that runs during summer and fall, and I've come for sand volleyball and grass volleyball (someone brings the net / ball). Love all the seats around as well, good open spot to hang out, free parking that's never a problem either. Would recommend!

Yelp
Green was the color of the grass where I used to read at centennial park. Taylor swift bench is immaculate. I love this park and I can see why Taylor loved it too. Such a wonderful park

Yelp
We got to hang out at this park while we were in downtown Nashville for an event. My buddy and I export a Park walked around took pictures had a good time.

Yelp
This park is absolutely beautiful! It's clear, clean and the lake is overlooking the building in the middle is just breathtaking. In the building is a museum that holds a statue of Athena, the Greek God in ALL GOLD. We ended up coming back to this park two days in a row on the little mini scooters you find on the apps. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This was a beautiful park with so much green space and walking trails. Nice lake with ducks and wildlife. So many different people doing things, break dancing, chase, art work, photography, reading, relaxing, working out. The park was alive with anything and everything. Free parking everywhere and within downtown. The Parthenon has tours and was built in the 1800's. Felt like I was in a scene from my video game assassins creed. Was a perfect day to enjoy the weather, sights and scenery. A must visit for a low cost day.

Yelp
Such a wonderful park located in the heart of Nashville!! Recently, some girlfriends and I took a trip to Nashville for a girls' weekend and stayed at an Airbnb close to Centennial Park. On our first morning in the city, we decided to get some coffee at a local shop nearby and walk to the park! It was our first time here, so there was a lot to explore! We started by taking a lap on the one-mile walking trail that wraps around Lake Watauga. It was great to see a lot of locals taking advantage of the trail as well. We saw a lot of different wildlife too including squirrels, birds, and chipmunks! We also got to see the iconic Taylor Swift bench as there is one dedicated to her as she mentions Centennial Park in one of her songs! We also proceeded to take a look at The Parthnon Art Museum. While we didn't actually go inside, the building itself was BEAUTIFUL. There is a lot of green space surrounding the building and they also offer guided tours of the museum (stinks we didn't have time to go inside and explore). Being right next to Vanderbilt University, we saw a lot of students mixed with tourists and locals! I totally recommend checking this park out if you have the time! It's a lovely green space to explore in Nashville! It's a great way to get some exercise, explore some art, or just enjoy the outdoors for free!

Yelp
Centennial Park is a famed nashville park that is the hosting ground for several amazing displays of public art and is the front lawn for the popular tourist attraction the Parthenon. I've visited this park probably 3-4 different times over the years and it is always a nice stroll with pretty landscape and great views. I always enjoy checking out the statues and monuments when visiting. Overall a very nice and open spaced area to either enjoy some Good weather or take on some History with all the statues and monuments.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this park. It's a great space to relax in the middle of the city. They have tables, benches all around, they have ponds with ducks and other birds but I found out you can't just feed them anything. They have a sign up telling you what you can feed them. They do different festivals all throughout the year too. This time it was just a nice day to get the kids out to ride their bikes and run around. They have the Parthenon museum (been inside but not that day) and the have different statues around. They also have a kids playground. Definitely recommend to come visit! You can find someone just playing the guitar like that day!

Yelp
Took a walk here one morning. This park is in a great location, within walking distance of downtown and midtown Nashville, right across from Vanderbilt. The parthenon was stunning, especially in the golden early morning light. I do slightly wish I'd come when it was open so that I could stroll inside ($10 admission) but also think that early summer morning is a perfect time to come because the lighting was immaculate. There were a few other strollers, dog walkers, joggers, but at 7am on a weekday in August it was not crowded at all. The bench swings are cute and cozy. The pond was stunning, and great for watching ducks and geese gliding. A super peaceful spot worth a stroll if you find yourself in Nashville!

Yelp
I came to visit the Parthenon. I ended up discovering that it's in Centennial Park. I got to take a brief walk round. It's one of many things that I loved about my visit to Nashville. One new place to visit led to many others within the same vicinity. It is the perfect city for curious folks like me. Toronto has High Park. New York City has Central Park. Nashville has Centennial Park. They all are large, central, amazing green spaces. Centennial Park is located in the middle of Nashville. Besides housing the Parthenon, it hosts a bunch of arts and cultural events throughout the year. The park is on the National Register for Historic Places. It is a 132-acre public park established in 1903. It comprises the following: - The Parthenon museum - A one-mile walking trail - Lake Watauga - Centennial Art Center - Centennial Performing Arts Studios - Musicians Corner - Sunken gardens - Bandshell - Events shelter - Sand volleyball courts - Dog park I'm exhausted listing everything. My visit only scratched the surface. I managed to see a couple of monuments at the park: - John W. Thomas - Women's suffrage I learned so much quickly admiring them and reading the plaques nearby. At Centennial Park, I found out that over three million people who visit it each year. I can see why. It has cool sights to see and the park is beautiful with the lake nearby. There are various festivals scattered throughout the year that are held here. I never got to see any of them, but hope to someday when I'm back. This park is owned by the city of Nashville, and managed by Metro Parks and Recreation Department. Centennial Park Conservancy serves as the nonprofit support group of the park and Parthenon in a public-private partnership with Metro Parks, with a mission to preserve, enhance, and share the park for current and future generations. This park was nicely maintained when I spent a few hours here. Centennial Park was such a cool find. I would have stayed outside longer, except that it was hot and humid. I needed air conditioning badly! When it's cooler temperature-wise, I'll definitely take more time to walk and explore the park. (280)

Yelp
First off , the parthenon is lovely located here in Centennial Park. On a recent trip to Nashville I decided to checkout this landmark. I'm so glad I did because the park in general is beautiful. The Parthenon also serves as a museum. Unfortunately, I didn't do a tour but I certainly will next time. This is a replica obviously , as Athens , Greece is the home of the original Parthenon. I hope to make it there one day! Lots of historic statues are situated throughout the park. The ducks are out and about. This was a fun experience and I recommend you checkout Centennial Park!
google avatar

Linda I.

Yelp
A really cute park to go for a stroll. Parking is free but it can get busy. Parthenon is pretty cool sight. Sometimes they would have Saturday market there.
google avatar

Dale S.

Yelp
We stopped here for a little picnic lunch as we were passing through town and ended up spending more time than we anticipated. This is a lovely park with so much to see! Many people have complained about parking but we were able to get a spot close to the Parthenon early afternoon on a weekday. We enjoyed a snack on a blanket on the ground with a great view of the building (as did many others). The park was busy, especially the children's play area, and there were lots of cute pups as well. We did not go in the Parthenon because they don't allow dogs. However we did walk around and see the adorable bench swings and lots of great statues. We really enjoyed our spring afternoon and I would definitely recommend stopping by.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
A lovely park in the heart of Nashville, with a lot to offer in all seasons. The Parthenon is the main attraction, but there's also many shows in the summer, recreation, festivals, many dogs to look at, and a great spot to unwind and relax. Easy access to the park on West End Ave near Vandy, and there is parking throughout the park - but it is super walkable from other downtown attractions. Always worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Yelp
Centennial Park is located in Nashville's west end neighborhood with free parking and home of The Parthenon, known as the Athens of the South. Centennial Park was the host site for the world's fair in 1897. The Parthenon was built for the fair but eventually the building had started to deteriorate and was rebuilt. The Parthenon is built to size of the actual one. Inside, there is a 42 foot tall statue of Athena. You do have to pay to go inside though. This beautiful and lush park also has a man made lake, a one mile walking trail, an art center, historical monuments, a dog park, volleyball courts and a beautiful sunken garden. My husband, our little girl and I came for a visit in December when it was very cold (well at least cold for a native Southern Californian). When we arrived, we saw a large tour bus dropping just parking and letting people off to let them wander around the park and take photos in front of The Parthenon. This park is beautiful and very large. There are plenty of great photo spots all around and worth a visit.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
This is a large well kept park where the grass was so green it almost looked like astro turf. Of course the parthenon is there and worth a look and there's also trail that takes you past a Civil War monument, a monument to the man who aquired the land for the park, a column that I think (?) is a monument to the founder of Nashville and a large pond. We were able to get a parking spot in the lot by the parthenon. Check out the parthenon and then do a lap to check out the rest of the park.
google avatar

Brooklynn K.

Yelp
I'm so happy to live so close - I'm in this park at this once a day. It's clean, has plenty of parking, plenty of grassy space, lots of seating around the park. Nice pond for wildlife viewing, lots of events scheduled throughout the summer/fall. Always a must visit when someone comes to town. What I wish they had more of was trash cans and recycling. Often times the cans are totally filled and they're too far apart, which can lead to littering.
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
Squishy grass, fun to walk around, coming from the midwest where the ground is often firm and boring clay and soil, this park always gets me wanting to bounce around on the thick bouncy green, tear it up with spikeball, and wonder around the iconic Greek attempted history. There was a surprising amount of parking available to our three vehicle caravan. Visited the Parthenon last year so didn't again, found some accessible paths down to the nearby ponds, photos of course, this is an obvious and easy option for being casual and burning by minutes in Nashville. It is clean, spouts some local food and dessert trucks, and quite quiet for relaxing.
google avatar

Bell C.

Yelp
For years the very first place I recommend to people visiting the city is Centennial Park, mainly because of the Parthenon. We've been going to watch the ducks and eat lunch in the park for decades. The craft fairs have always been fun, as well as anytime they've had bands or movies at the "clam shell". We attended a book signing inside the Parthenon years ago and it's still a very fond memory.

Yelp
Centennial Park sits in the Midtown area of downtown Nashville just blocks from Vanderbilt University. The park is well kept, perfectly manicured and mapped out with expert precision. The main entrance sits on West End Avenue and when you enter here you are greeted by the Parthenon in the distance, large open perfectly manicured green space and branching paved pathways that will take you around the park so you can see the monuments, bridges and ponds. During our trips to Nashville, we visit Centennial Park to get out and take a leisurely stroll through a beautiful park in the middle of our favorite city! In addition to being used for walking, jogging or scootering, Centennial Park is also a local performing arts venue and honestly it makes perfect sense given the beautiful green space in front of the Parthenon. The main park and trails circle the Parthenon, however the Nashville Greenway connects to the far end of the park, which opens up a lot of additional trail if you are committed to a longer stroll! Parking is decent with lots surrounding two sides of the park, with the largest being the lot that services the Parthenon. My only concern with the park is the restroom area. This is one building/section that has not been well taken care of and could use some attention. Overall, Centennial Park is a great park in the heart of a beautiful city! It is definitely something that is always a staple on our Nashville visits each year!
google avatar

Greg F.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful park, perfect for a relaxing walk. There is plenty of parking and cars are constantly leaving tonfree up spots. The Parthenon makes for a beautiful picture spot and there is a lake and a few other monuments.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Went on a run here and it is a sweet city park. Not massive but with enough paths to run the whole thing in 2 or 3 different loops, which was a nice warm up for a run back to the hotel. The best thing about this park is a single self pumping swing off to the side. I had a lovely time sitting there and taking in the beautiful fall day.

Yelp
Hit Centennial Park for the free friday nite concert series each fri in Sept. Saw 5 great bands. Really fun friendly vibe. Lots of good people out having a great time

Yelp
It's lovely and very well maintained. It's in walking distance from Vanderbilt. The Parthenon in the center is a nice attraction! Definitely worth a visit if you're a tourist.

Yelp
Great urban park in Nashville near Vanderbilt University. Originally the park was farmland owned by John and Anne Robertson Johnson Cockrill. Anne's brother, General James Robertson, co-founded Nashville. It was also used as a fairgrounds and a racetrack until 1897, when it was site of the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition. During the centennial celebration, the area was redeveloped with sunken gardens, an artificial lake and temporary buildings. As Nashville was known as "The Athens of the South," a replica of the Parthenon was constructed as a centepiece for the exhibit. This was so popular that the temporary building was not dismantled and then was replaced with a more permanent exact replica in 1929. Today, Centennial Park is a nice place to spend a quiet morning or afternoon. Plenty of parking is available. Nice to walk on the path along the lake or visit the Parthenon...in Nashville.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
This is such a fabulous park. It has everything plenty of trees, ponds, history, architecture, an art studio, and a great playground for kids. The only negative is the bathrooms or lack thereof, the port of potties were unpleasant. Other than that I highly recommend spending a sunny afternoon at Centennial Park.
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
I've been coming to this park my whole life and I've seen a lot of changes. This park is kinda like our Central Park no where near as large. When the weather is good you'll see people doing photo shots especially prom in the spring. The park usually has ample parking unless an event is happening. This is not a park where you can cruise around it's a park and walk kind of park. We have a full size replica of Greece's Parthenon it's definitely something you should check out. Inside the Parthenon there's the statue of Athena which is covered in real gold. Sometimes people rent out the Parthenon for events. There's a area where kids can swing and play. This is a great park for kids an adults. I do feel safe enough being in the park alone however I say that as a native and I do not stay in the park after sun down. There are ducks and people typically feed them bread. FYI bread is bad for ducks health and their environment and things like nuts and seeds are safer. If you're into people watching this is a great place to do it it's always different things going all around the park.

Molly S.

Yelp
Very pretty park with a large pond. Lots of nice walking paths. We also saw the bench dedicated to Taylor Swift.
google avatar

Blake M.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best parks in the area! A wide open lot to play with pups, a few paths to ride bikes on, and of course the highlight is the Parthenon. If you want to see a great park and museum this is the place to go.
google avatar

Dana N.

Yelp
Great park and playground. Lots of kids and lots of area to run around too. The playground area was clean and well maintained.
google avatar

Andrea U.

Yelp
This 132 acre park was once a fairground, a racetrack and the location for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial & International Exposition. The recreation area welcomes visitors of all ages with a variety of attractions and activities. We found parking on the grass& walked around the art shoe & went into the Parthenon
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
I've only been to this park while it's been cold, so I haven't experienced spring time here yet. Once life gets back to normal, I'll be picnicking in no time! For geographical reference, the Parthenon is right in the middle of this park which is next to a huge a man made lake. The walking trail surrounding the lake is huge and has plenty of break off spots for picnicking and sun bathing. The Sunken Gardens here are amazing and I've heard they also host weddings in the garden themselves. There is a ton of wildlife found here as well. Geese, duck, deer, turtle and beavers?! I've only seen geese and ducks, which love being feed by locals and tourist. Make sure to bring some stale bread on your next visit, the "quackers" love it! In the southern part of the park, concerts are hosted in the summer, but right now that part of the park is being renovated and extended. But with everything going on who knows when concerts will be happening again. Going outdoors is really the only thing you can go nowadays and Centennial Park is a great place to start exploring.
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Pretty park with the highlight being the colosseum. Didn't go inside because I thought it was a little overpriced but we had fun walking around and playing at the playground. Could use a little cleanup.

John M.

Yelp
Centennial Park is the very definition of what a great city park can and should be. There is plenty of space to roam. There is culture, street performers, statues commemorating people and events, and, of course, Nashville's stunning recreation of the Parthenon. I have been here countless times and have always felt a sense of community here, that Centennial Park is beyond just a mere parcel of land, that it has a heart that it shares with the community that it serves. I strongly recommend if you are in Nashville that you take a moment to seek this park out, that you allow yourself the chance to see and feel what a park can be.

Yelp
My dog ate something that was on the ground. He started acting weird right after. Took him to the vet and found out he ate something laced with pot. There were also chicken bones on the ground. The lake is unpleasant, green and stinky. I'm going to stay away, park has gone downhill!

Yelp
Very nice park! Quiet, calm, good walking and running areas. Adjacent to / part of the Parthenon which is cool to look at. There's not a whole lot of parking but there are several entrances. You can park near the Parthenon where there's an abundance of spaces. The lake is nice to walk around and I believe 1 loop equals 1 mile. A couple of statues/monuments with some Nashville history. If you're looking for a park with very few people, I'd recommend a different one. It wasn't over crowded but there were enough people to where it's not too quiet.

Yelp
What a cool park with so much to see and do, and paths that take you to these different statues and monuments and of course the main attraction: the Parthenon. Don't miss the Women's Suffragist installation! Great place to walk, jog, bike, use those scooters, and even picnic or play frisbee. Music City Hop bus drops off right out front and comes every 30 minutes!
