The 22 Best Things to Do in Oslo in 2025

"I found the Holocaust Center somber and sobering, focusing on the Norwegian Jewish experience and persecution of minorities, housed in the former residence of Vidkun Quisling and featuring exhibitions with photos, films, artifacts, and interviews." - Matthew Kepnes

48 Hours in Oslo Itinerary (Updated 2025)

"Visiting the Holocaust Center was a sobering, insightful experience: housed in Vidkun Quisling’s former residence, it documents the persecution of Norwegian Jews and other minorities during the German occupation with exhibitions, photos, films, artifacts, and interviews; it’s open weekdays from 10am–4pm and admission is 120 NOK." - Matthew Kepnes

This visit was incredibly informative and more than I had anticipated for the trip. I truly did not understand the gravity of involvement that Norway had with the holocaust in all respects. It was very revealing and informative. I encourage anyone looking to visit Oslo to pass by.

Most information (descriptions on the displays) is in norweigan only, but reception can provide you with a tablet with many (not all) info in english. Well put together display.

Interesting to learn the history of the 772 Jews deportation on the SS Donau back in 1942. At the beginning of the exhibition the ships Bell, which would have been rung as it departed on that fateful day (26th November), is prominently displayed. Could really do with more English Script to explain the displays. Some information is given on a tablet provided at the start of your tour but it's not specific enough to the displays. Lovely building and grounds.

Very informative, it was a very special experience, not expected at all when arriving.

A very good place to visit and see what happened to the Norwegian Jews during the war. Has many displays mostly in the Norwegian language, however a tablet is provided for those who want the info in English. The cafeteria is very good. Had some excellent soup there.

The museum has a more specific focus compared to larger museums in Europe. A mediocre and uninteresting museum, not the exhibits themselves.

We loved the museum. Very informative. Compared to some of the other museums, this one was not busy at all and very quiet. We wish that there were more English translations. I understand Norwegian and there was a lot of information missing from the English translation. My wife used Google lens to translate everything. The employee said that they are planning to revise the translations soon. All to go and see the old world war 2 bunker. The cafe upstairs was great as well.
