Central Backpackers Hostel - Phong Nha

Excellent social hostel. Rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Reception staff are helpful and the volunteers are lovely. Pool is great with a stunning mountain view. The included breakfast and daily hour of free beer are a welcome bonus. 100k a day scooter rental and lots of assistance with booking further transport. Only downside was the lack of places to hang towels/clothes.

Ann and Tina (Dum) were super friendly and nice during my stay. They were super informative and took their time to answer my many questions about some trekking tours. Tours were excellent. Hostel is clean, just wish there were more spots for the towels/clothes in shower area, and maybe some seating inside the rooms considering how big they are or at least a table.

I had an excellent time at this hostel. The vibes were great, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the facilities were top. It was super social without being crazy, so a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I went on one of the organised tours to see Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave and had so much fun. I definitely recommend!

The best hostel in Phong Nha! We stayed in a private and a Bungalow, the rooms are very clean and spacious with stunning views. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to think of how many backpackers stay, they make the effort on reception to sort your queries out with onward travel and excursions and also remember your name. Good food and drink, with a great BBQ on Sunday night. Highly recommend!

Very nice, social (borderline party) hostel so make sure that's your vibe before booking. It wasn't mine but the rooms are high up enough so that you don't hear the noise from there. The staff is lovely and were great helping me rent a scooter. My main problem with the place would be that they do not have a water refill station which requires me to remove a star. there are a few cafés around but not that much options.

Stayed in a bungalow for a few nights, rooms were very clean and bathroom had good hot water and pressure, WiFi was fast and free beer was a nice. Breakfast was pretty good with an omelet station which I liked. Only bad experience - one girl at the reception had a bad attitude and refused to rent me a motorcycle claiming they only rent to people with Vietnamese riding experience which I later found out was a complete lie because other people rented with no questions asked. Seriously which tourist has riding experience in Vietnam? ridiculous! I can only speculate that it was racism because I wasn't white, that's the only way I can explain it. I ended up renting a bike with Thang's across the street, a wonderful friendly guy who set me up and I had a great time exploring the park! Edit - I have been a motorcycle rider all my life, rented and ridden motorcycles in the US all over Europe, Thailand, Indonesia with no issue. Also have a US licence with a motorcycle endorsement. As I mentioned another guest was significantly less experienced than me and it was his first time in Vietnam but was asked no questions, hence my post. I don't post such reviews without thoroughly understanding the facts. The funniest part of all this is that I am actually a former club racer, I used to race 1000cc superbikes in California, it's hilarious that some random hostel in the Vietnamese outback says I am "not sufficiently experienced" yet rents bikes to 20 year old yahoos staying there. Enough with the BS!

Amazing hostel. The rooms are great, checkin is very easy, they are very flexible. We arrived at 3:30am and were immediately extremely helpful and got us a room. When we ordered a bus we had to change it a couple of times after and they were super patient and helpful. I can’t imagine any other better service then they provided. 6 stars for service!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also a lot of nice activities and free BBQ on Sundays. Great included breakfast and the food is good overall. No charge for towel just a deposit. Clean sheets every day. Hot showers. Amazing people. Pool, soccer table, chess, happy hours and social vibes if you want!

Just book your stay here. This hostel has everything you could ask for. The staff is so kind, you have breakfast, the rooms are good and clean. Theres a pool with a great view, you can order food, you can rent a scooter for 100k (no gasoline). You can buy snacks and order food. Airconditioning and fans are good. So much to see in the beautiful area. Only thing was the power sockets kind of suck and my charger falls out at night.
