Central Backpackers Hostel - Phong Nha

Had a great time at this hostel. Its a perfect place for socialising and getting to know people. There are always groups of people in the lobby/bar area and the hostel creates a good atmosphere so that its easy to connect with people. On top of that they serve really good food, the bar has lots of happy hours and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and on the bigger size. Only downside is that we had no warm water in the bathroom, but we never mentioned it so idk if they can help it or not.

This hostel saved my life! Thanks to Jessica, Ann, Chinh, Viet , Suong, Tam, and many other lovely staff at the reception, the bar, and the cleaners… thank you for being here for me at my lowest! I had bad food poisoning and was bed ridden for a few days, the staff were so lovely and caring, and even gave me fruit and water and electrolytes right to my bed, when I was really suffering, and even checking up on me the next day to make sure i was okay. They were also extremely understanding and let me reschedule my tour with no fee. On top of that, the hostel is just very clean, the dorm beds are really good, you get a privacy curtain, a small shelf, locker, a nightlight and power socket. The toilets and showers are cleaned daily and shampoo, body soap, and hand soap is provided. the location is very central to everything (it lives up to its name) and you can book a ton of activities and tours through the hostel, and even motorbike rental, and transfers to your next destination. We had a fantastic stay at Central Backpackers Hostel! The food was great, and the free beer hour from 7–8 pm was such a nice bonus — a great way to meet other travellers. The hostel had so many activities going on, and it was definitely one of the most social places we’ve stayed. A big shoutout to Grace, the volunteer, who made the evenings so fun by organizing games every night. She also led the cycling tour, which we absolutely loved! It was only 50k to rent a bike, the route was really safe, and Grace made sure everyone stayed together and felt comfortable the whole way. We stayed in a private room that was surprisingly spacious, and the bathroom was decent for what we paid. The only small issue was the shower — it takes about 3–4 minutes to heat up from the solar panels, and the temperature fluctuated every 20 seconds or so. But honestly, that’s a minor thing compared to everything else we enjoyed. The pool looked amazing with stunning mountain views — we didn’t swim because it was a bit cold, but it definitely added to the atmosphere. Overall, a super social, friendly, and well-run hostel. Highly recommend, especially thanks to Grace and the team! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Awesome place to stay for solo and friends group. Free breakfast usually eggs. And free beer at 7pm and ride bicycle for free around the town. You can book cave tours and other tours directly here. Only con is they only take cash View from backyard is awesome. Staff are polite. Best hostel i have visited in vietnam so far

We made a mistake and accidentally left something In our room before we left to phong nha. We never expected to hear anything back or get a response however tuyen was so amazing and did everything she could to get it back to us. This was so helpful as we really needed it. We really appreciate how kind Everyone is there and the vibe is immaculate! Thank you so much again tuyen you have made our trip!!

I didn’t stay at the hostel but got dropped off by my sleeper bus here. It was 5am and I couldn’t get a grab until 6-7am but the host was kind enough to let me stay, connect to the WiFi and give options on what I could do for transportation. With hospitality like that I could tell this would a great spot to stay at. Thank you guys so much again for the kindness.

I had a private bungalow rather than a dorm room, so this review is based on that, however, beyond the rooms the service, the food, and the location was amazing! I stayed here Christmas Eve and Christmas and they provided a free family dinner for the guests. It was a great stay and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Absolutely loved my stay here. I’ve stayed in 100+ hostels over the years and this one is top-notch. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds and pillows are super comfortable, bathrooms are nice, property is beautiful with the pool, staff is amazing, free breakfast, free beer happy hour… what’s not to love?? If you’re staying in Phong Nha, this is the place.
