Central Backpackers Hostel - Phong Nha

Had booked two nights at this hostel but had to add another night. They did not have our room available but were kind enough to upgrade our room without any extra payments. We opted for the bungalows which have their own bathroom. It was really nice - clean and spacious. The breakfast was good! The staff are really helpful and nice, and creates a good atmosphere. We didn’t join the group activities but they have good options for day trips. Definitely a social hostel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The atmosphere was very friendly and social, and the restaurant offered good food. Overall, it provided a comfortable and welcoming experience. However, I did notice an inaccuracy in the hostel’s quiz. The question asked, “What is the most spoken language in the world?” and the answer provided was Mandarin. In fact, the correct answer is English, as it has the highest total number of speakers worldwide when including both native and second-language speakers.

Had a private room so can’t speak as to the quality of the shared rooms but ours was very nice for the price. Location is also ideal and you can hire bikes or do tours from the hostel. I have deducted a star because we had lunch there once and it was really bad. Notably the chickpea sandwich looked nothing like the photo and actually wasn’t a sandwich at all. So I recommend the place to stay but not to eat.

Excellent social hostel. Rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Reception staff are helpful and the volunteers are lovely. Pool is great with a stunning mountain view. The included breakfast and daily hour of free beer are a welcome bonus. 100k a day scooter rental and lots of assistance with booking further transport. Only downside was the lack of places to hang towels/clothes.

Really great hostel with good spacious rooms and a good atmosphere. Free breakfast was really nice and loved Oreo the dog! Staff were amazing and very accommodating when we had to stay an extra night last minute. They even gave us a thank you card at the end of the stay! Would definitely recommend

Literally one of the Best hostels ive Stayed in over a year of traveling. The whole stuff is very nice, funny and helpful. You Are treated on eyelevel and it feels very welcoming. They always try to improve Even tho they Are already Perfect. Best free breakfast ive had so far. Our shower was kinda broken and I told the Manager and 2h later it was replaced and perfectly working. Special thx to the Manager and the Team 💕 Will always come back ✨

Ann and Tina (Dum) were super friendly and nice during my stay. They were super informative and took their time to answer my many questions about some trekking tours. Tours were excellent. Hostel is clean, just wish there were more spots for the towels/clothes in shower area, and maybe some seating inside the rooms considering how big they are or at least a table.

Great hostel. Took off a star for a couple things — - On Tuesday night the younger girl serving food went to the sink, blew her nose into her hands, and didn’t use soap to wash. - I stayed in the bungalows for one night, and loud hammering outside the room started before 8am. Other than that, a solid hostel with good food.
