Central Backpackers Oxford

I like this place, but I’m not a fan of the manager. The only standout is a guy from the US—he’s great to talk to and makes customers feel welcome, happy, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff are cold and don’t seem to care about the customers. Once they collect the money, they stop helping and act more like customers than employees. It all feels a bit robotic, doesn’t it?

I liked staying at this hostel. The staff were helpful and the room was clean. It has a kitchen which I didn't use but is nice to note. It is in central Oxford which is quite convenient. I would stay here again.

The room was lovely, with a comfy bed. Great service from staff too but there was no mention of the hostel being next to a bar which plays music extremely loud, up until 2.30am. Could not sleep with the music playing.

Central Backpackers is a great hostel. The staff was professional, kind, respectful, warm, and inviting - I felt like family. They went above and beyond to make sure it was clean and organized. It also felt like a tightly run ship - that they were taking care of business. Hallelujah - they did laundry. The facility was inviting with lots of room to relax, converse, read a book, watch TV, etc. The kitchen and dining area were large and inviting so that folks were always cooking - which made it feel more like home. My room was large even with 8 beds - so we had room to navigate. They supplied towels! The location is within easy walk of all the sites and activities. Bravo! Well done.

I loved staying at this hostel! The location is perfect, very near to the centre city, they were constantly cleaning everything and the staff was simply amazing, always kind and helpful. Federico made me laugh so much! I would definitely recommend it if you're staying at Oxford. Hope to see the team again soon! Thank you for the good time ♥

Stayed here about two weeks ago and loved it! Staff are super friendly, the rooms are clean, the kitchen has provided seasonings you can use, and the location is perfect. One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in.

As one would expect from Backpackers accommodation, there are certainly no luxuries here, though that is reflected in the price you are paying. The rooms are however, clean and there is not much noise, though this is rather dependant on your neighbours. Park End street is home to one of Oxford's major clubs, so expect to be in the midst of the nightlife. The city centre is very close, at about 5 minutes walk.

If you stay here do not attempt to sleep until after 2 AM. There is a night club attached and the people dance and scream right outside. I promise you that headphones and earplugs will not help as the walls vibrate from the music. Also you have to be a student to go to their club so visitors are not welcome
