Central Bar & Restaurant

This is a really fun restaurant! They have betting slips on the tables, and when you leave, you get a chance to win six cans of beer for $10! ​​The food is excellent, very well-made, and the chef is particularly good at making delicious sauces that are a perfect match for beer—it's fantastic! Kudos to the boss and staffs of this restaurant!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend the Gnocchi and Risotto. Very tasty indeed. Garlic and cheese bread was yummy as well but VERY expensive in our opinion at $15.99 a serve! We lashed out tonight though. 😁 Nice watching the SoT docking just outside the window also.

The main meals were decent. Between us we had the double burger, chicken schnitzel. Other reviews mention that service is slow but honestly with the size of the pub waiting a bit under an hour for a main is pretty normal to me. The desert was really good. Apparently they make it in house and I'd believe it. We had the brownie and sticky date pudding. I'd highly recommend asking for an extra scoop of icecream with the sticky pudding, you will need it. Staff were friendly The atmosphere was very country town which made it a chill place to have dinner.

Open Steak Burger is very good. There is just a bit too much olive oil in Salmon but taste good. Most important thing is an Excellent Services in this place.

really disappointed after paying $135 for a night at the Central, Mould in the bathroom around the window and on the window and you can see where it’s been cleaned and wiped up. See the photo below the door to the room rattles all night due to the air pressure of the back door to the stairs being opened and closed all night. The place has great food however stay somewhere else If you value your health.

All meals were so delicious!! We had garlic pizza, parmas, butter chicken, pork belly and linguini and can't fault the meals at all. Staff were very polite and helpful Kid friendly as well, our table even came with paper on it to draw but we played alot of hangman and naughts&crosses

Always love coming here. Great food, menu seems to change often enough with always great choices. Not prohibitively expensive, but definitely worth it. Good local beer and wine menu alone is worth the visit, and they are reasonably priced! Definitely one of the best pub dinners to have in devonport. And nice to see the Spirit come/go through the windows.

We like coming here and it was our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner! Well no one took our order I had to ask staff if we can order please & we were booked at 5:30 so it wasn’t busy. The wrong meal comes out for my husband so I sat with my meal that was supposed to be a vegetable tart with pine nut rocket salad with feta & a balsamic glaze. It was a bit of pastry with different vegetables on top, was supposed to come with toasted pine nut salad, the salad was served ontop of tart that was just rocket! and no pine nuts at all was in dish. The tart was not cooked under the vegetable it was simply soggy pastry. I ate 1/4 of it then told waitress when my husbands correct meal finally come out that my meal wasn’t what was on the menu I was missing the toasted pine nuts (would have been the only crunch on the plate) I told her not to worry though I wasn’t eating anymore, she brought me out a small amount of pine nuts (uncooked) in a little dip bowl. Laughable really. So after getting my husbands meal wrong then not actually getting my dish correctly and it being a soggy bunch of veg we still had to pay $70+ for the inconvenience. What a great anniversary tea. I told the waitress and nothing was done but to ignore the table and offer my husband a free drink!
