Central Hostel

We stayed for 3 nights and had the most amazing time. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere in the cafe/ common area. You are able to bring food to eat outside/ inside the hostel which worked really well for us as we were on a tighter budget and not able to eat out every night. The rooms were so clean and the air con was amazing during the hot weather. Location was excellent- really central and it was easy to access tourist attractions/ nightlife. Thank you for such a great stay.

Really great stay! We got there early and got to check in early which was amazing for us since we were running on no sleep. Great location in the city as everything is near. Had some drinks down at the bar for super cheap. Lovely stay would recommend

In small letters on the website/Booking they write that there is no bike parking space. That is also my own fault. But the desk lady is super unhelpful with finding a solution and sends you in 40 degrees to a car parking with no parking for bikes. And they do not give you any money back. FOR EVERYONE WITH A BIKE GO TO BLOOM HOSTEL where they are super nice and do not go to this hostel, which is a disgrace to a Bordeaux that profiles itself as a bike friendly city.

I stayed at this hostel in March and was initially impressed — it met my expectations for an upper-market hostel in Europe. Based on that experience, I re-booked in August for a family motorbike trip. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the reservation less than three hours after making it, due to an unforeseen family issue that forced us to call off the trip. This cancellation was made more than 48 hours before the scheduled arrival date. Despite the circumstances, the hostel refused to offer any refund. I felt this was unnecessarily rigid and a disappointing decision given how little time had passed since the booking was made. I would suggest your money is better spent and the other hostel in Bordeaux that is equally well situated in the city.

I’ve stayed in this hostel for 3 days. The hostel itself is located in the very downtown of Bordeaux at the main street rue Sainte Catherine, which is ideal for tourists. All sightseeings and museums are already next to you! Prices are affordable; rooms, showers and toilets were clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly and most importantly present 24/24. I can definitely recommend Central Host for your visits of Bordeaux!

Central Hostel has friendly staff, comfortable beds, a nice cafe to hang out in and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. Unfortunately, while the location is terrific from the standpoint of being central and located on an attractive, small square, it's noisy in the evenings until late with the sound of human voices from the cafes and street people. The windows are well sound-proofed, but if you have to open them because the dorm rooms get warm from the half-dozen bodies sleeping there, you'll have to endure the racket.

Can charge phone (230v + usb) and store my small stuff within reach from bed! Can take a shower and keep all stuff and floor dry! Silent beds. Can have a light in bed without disturbing other people. Curtains for each bed. Good storage for bags, and even a wall outlet for charging stuff behind a locked door. There is a hang out area outside on the square, and also by the bar inside. Visit in May with only one other person in the 8 bed room. Cold temperature in room, but probably different for full room. Capsule beds was great! Bottom bunk at least.

My reservation was cancelled last minute due to some problems when I already had everything arranged - train tickets etc. They apologised but after 48 hours - as stated in the cancellation email - I still haven't received my refund. As I was in Bordeaux, I accidentally came across the hostel ( yes, it is located in a good place) and the receptionist told me I needed to contact Booking as I made my reservation through them. It is not enough that they don't seem to be reliable at all, I now have to run after my money. On top of everything I asked for a non-alcoholic beer and for 6 euros (!!!) I got one with alcohol. 1. They cancel my reservation first stating I'll get a full refund in 48 hours ( forgetting to add that I will in fact have to beg Booking for my money.). 2. Instead of non-alcoholic beer they serve me 5.5% Darwin beer with alcohol. Well. No comments.
