I cannot thank everyone at Central Hotel Panama for the best experience. The staff were all INCREDIBLE -- accommodating, warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We traveled with at 2.5 year old, and with that comes its challenges, but everyone we interacted with were so sweet and understanding with our son. They were able to secure a car seat and car to get us to and from our outings, so that our son could travel safely. The rooms were fabulous, too. We had an issue with our original room and they were able to move us to one more comfortable to accommodate our crib with no issue. Also the breakfast! So delicious! Literally from top to bottom, left to right, Central Hotel was a five-star experience. I can't recommend it enough. I can't wait until we go back!

Although I haven’t stayed at the hotel yet, I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, and I can’t say enough good things about it. The seafood was absolutely divine! I never imagined I’d try octopus, but their team encouraged me to sample the grilled octopus, and it was truly out of this world—a dish I’ll never forget. Their desserts were equally impressive, perfectly sweet and so delightful they left me wanting more. The atmosphere was elevated by live music, and we even had the chance to join the piano player for a sing-along—a unique and memorable touch. Overall, it was an exceptional culinary experience that I would highly recommend.

We could not have asked for a better hotel located in the center of Casco Viejo. Upon our arrival the front desk staff were immensely kind, and provided a free upgrade to a balcony room. The rooms were clean, spacious, and we were consistently provided with prompt service. Simply the most beautiful hotel in the best location.

I went with my family and paid for two rooms with two queens in each room (two Jr. Suites). This was 6 months in advance via a travel consultant. One room was fine, the other (the room I was to share with my grandson) was dismal. The door to the balcony wouldn't close or lock and I was given a roll away bed as the second queen four times they tried to convince me it was what I booked and okay. Then it was referred to it as an upgrade to get a Jr. Suite (what I paid for). It took two hours to resolve the issue and that was with the help of the tour company that was my liaison. I was given a room with two queens in an area I called the cave. There were no exterior windows. The air conditioning was malfunctioning, I called numerous times to get it fixed. When maintenance finally showed up, they said it was fine and put it on heat mode, the room was 24.5 degrees Celsius or 85 degrees Fahrenheit and that is where it stayed. I put in back on the air conditioning mode with no change. My grandson ended up sleeping with his brother in his parent's suite because it was so hot.||If I hadn't had these problems I may have enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff were not helpful and tried to brush me off, had I not contacted the tour company I don't believe there would have been a room change. Even with the room change, what it took to accomplish and what I ended up with was not what I consider acceptable.

We selected this hotel as a pre cruise stay and we were not disappointed. Its location was great right in the heart of old town. The pool on the roof was a great rest from the heat and great for a few cocktails. Wile there we took a look at one of the hotel’s restaurants and we decided to give it a go that evening and it was great. Good food, live music and a great view of the city. Breakfast was completely with our room rate and was excellent. All in all a short but great stay. Would stay again if we are ever back in Panamá.

This hotel was wonderful. Perfect location, walking distance to everything, and the rooms were very nice. Room was clean, spacious, and updated (though still having the old world charm). Hotel staff was also great. Live music playing in the lobby. Would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel is a perfect mix of quality, location and service. The bar has an amazing live musical performance usually a talented violinist or acoustic guitar. I'll come.back to stay again. The live music and exceptional service made for a great stay at this hotel.

Barbara at the front desk and the location was the only thing positive about this hotel.|I chose to stay at this property to experience the local culture, but unfortunately, the customer service was awful. It felt like the staff was taking advantage of non-Spanish speakers at every opportunity. For example, I ordered a margarita at the restaurant, which was listed as $10 on the menu. When the bill arrived, it was $25 for a small whiskey glass. I paid it and called the front desk to ask for an explanation about the discrepancy. I was told someone would call me back, but no one ever did.||Additionally, the room had a strong sewage smell, and the same issue was present in the lobby. I overheard another guest also complaining about his room at the front desk. We called about our own room issue, and although someone was supposed to come, no one ever did.||On top of that, we were told at the front desk there was a party for $135. When we went to pay, the price had inexplicably jumped to $157. I was also promised a different location for the party, but when we went downstairs, we were placed in a secluded area beneath the stairs. ||Ultimately, we decided to check out early and stayed at the W for our final two nights. The difference was like night and day.||We’re trying to get a refund for the two nights, but they’re making it tough.||They informed us that the outdoor area was sold out, but we'll be placed in a room that's adjacent to it. Our new spot is beneath the stairs, behind the DJ, and in front of the elevator. The picture is where we were seated.
