I loved the historical feel of this hotel. While I was sitting in the lobby enjoying a beverage, I saw several tour guides bring their small groups into the lobby to point out the architecture. It has a prime location in Panama Square in the heart of Casco Viejo. Despite its historical feel, it did NOT feel rundown. The A/C worked well in the room, the bathrooms were clean and not moldy or mildewy. I slept very well and comfortably! I enjoyed some delicious empanadas from the restaurant. The hotel is laid out with the rooms along the perimeter of the hotel with the lobby in the atrium. The only potential issue (or advantage depending on your opinion/tastes) with this layout is you can easily hear the live music (which plays throughout the day - harp in the morning, violin in the afternoon, live singer at dinner/evening) from your room. I enjoyed my stay and would return!

From start to finish, our stay was wonderful. Yes, the rooms are small, but we were really only there to sleep and change between adventures—so it wasn’t an issue at all. Everything was clean and well cared for, especially considering it’s a historic hotel. The location is fantastic—everything is walkable, and the staff is incredibly helpful with transportation and anything else you might need. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and really filled us up for the day. The on-site restaurant served delicious food, and we even got to enjoy live musicians during our stay, which made the experience feel even more special. The staff was kind, friendly, and especially great with my 1.5-year-old daughter. They even provided a crib for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. I also loved hanging out on the balcony and watching the lively streets below. Would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel is historic and amazing. Great location in old town with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast buffet. The beds are comfy and rooms are spacious.|The only negative is the all day music playing til 10-11 at night. If you stay in a family suite, 2 beds, it outside the hallway and you hear the music all day everyday.

Loved it! Excellent balance of fancy and quaint in a fantastic location within Casco Viejo. Lots to do nearby and very walking friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. Not a lot of staff spoke fluent English, but everyone was still very helpful and understanding when I had to use my less-than-wonderful Spanish. Gorgeous pool area on the roof, with excellent views of the old city, bay, and new city in the background. Pool deck would get a bit crowded at times. Great food and drinks, too, both upstairs and down. Occasional live music was a treat.

From the moment we walked in to this restaurant, there is an amazing harp player that captivated us, it was so beautiful. We had the most incredible service from our server, jaime, he was so personable and honestly one of the best servers we have ever had in Panamá. On top of that, he had the two chefs come out, jesus and erasmo so we could praise their amazing art. The wine suggestion was amazing, as well as the espresso martini. My picky 13 year old daughter said the steak she had got was the best steak she had ever had in Panamá, and all food was delicious. The ambiance is beautiful, definitely recommend.

I was in Panama on business and my family joined on the back end of the trip. We had the most amazing meal at The Bistro. I highly recommend coming to the Bistro! I’ve been coming to Panama for almost 30yrs and this is one of the BEST restaurants around. ||Jame was amazing and made our dinner special. Chefs Jesus and Erasmo came out to the table and were very informative on their techniques and backgrounds. ||This is a MUST DO in Panama 🇵🇦

Stayed here for business - conference space and catering were excellent. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Amenities were accessible (gym was nice) and hotel restaurant was great. Super helpful staff - especially Kimberly and Alfredo at the front desk who are rockstars!

I had a drink at their outside table area on the Plaza de la Independencia. My waiter, who was Cuban, was so friendly and cheerful and made it a very memorable experience. Great location right on the square. I did enter the lobby of the hotel itself and it was quite upscale.
