On the Grid : Central Park

"Central Park is appropriately located in the heart of Atlantic Station and provides a dedicated green space for lounging, playing games, and gathering with friends. Atlantic Station's Central Park is a great place to take in some of Hollywood's biggest hits on a beautiful summer night during their Movies in Central Park season. The lawn also hosts comedy improv classes, yoga classes, cornhole tournaments, seasonal celebrations and other fun family events. The best part...most of the activities are free!" - Nine Labs

Has Tennis Courts, 4 full basketball courts, playgrounds, swings, and calisthenics spot. Pretty big park good for walking, scootering, biking. Beautiful Trees.

Shaky Knees concert was great in central park. The multi stage set up was ideal and the staff was very helpful every moment of the event. The only downside was the amount of hills and root-ridden areas that became difficult to navigate especially in the rain.

Great park to walk and meditate and get your mind right in the early morning

Day 1 of ONE Musicfest’s 15th anniversary was absolutely 🔥! As an @onemusicfest Ambassador, I had the privilege of experiencing the electrifying performances, delicious food, and amazing vibes firsthand. From Latto’s high-energy set to Ari Lenox’s soulful voice and BigXthaPlug’s captivating energy, every moment was pure magic. Were you there? Did you see your friends in the crowd? Tag them and share the love! Can’t wait to see what Day 2 has in store! See you next year, OMF! Huge shoutout to the entire OMF team for curating such an incredible experience.

Enjoyed the Re:Set festival in Central Park. Well managed, lots of restrooms, short vendor lines, and good sound. Central Park itself could be better situated in transit, but overall it wasn't too difficult to access.

Google
Central Park doesn't look like much in Google Maps, so I was pleasantly surprised how great a venue this place was for the Shaky Knees Music Festival. Otherwise, without all the stages, bars and people everywhere, this park is pretty much an average looking piece of green space in the middle of Atlanta. There aren't many amenities here other than some grass and baseball fields.

Came here for a music festival and it was great! The park is large with lots of space for events or just to vibe or for a picnic. It's in the center of a neighborhood that looked pretty safe. There are lots of trees and grassy areas to lay out. There are no amenities though like public restrooms, or at least i didn't see any.

It's a park in the city. Great. Problem is concerts are becoming a norm here. I went for One Music Fest. Its difficult to see in the crowd if you are short on a flat surface. There aren't any restrooms so you have to use a porta potty. Where can ppl wash their hands? They dont. The park is large enough to have 2 stages allowing multiple acts to entertain at the same time. OMF was awesome but go back to Lakewood. Every view is good there and it's worth the fee for 2 days. Will I go back to this park for a concert? I would but it's so hard to find a parking spot. Lakewood is better. IJS.

Yelp
I come here a lot as I live nearby but I never once thought to look this place up on Yelp! The last few times I've been here was to play grass volleyball with some friends. There's a lot of spacious areas to set up a court without disturbing anyone else that comes out to play any other sport or just take a walk. There are definitely some areas that need some sprucing up, but I'm glad that I live so close to a nice green space!

Yelp
I don't know how I forgot to review it, but of course we went to Central Park on our trip to New York. It was May, so still a bit chilly, but starting to be pretty. We had limited time, so hopefully when we go back we get to take a little longer to enjoy the park. I think this is a must do when visiting to check it off the list!

Yelp
Came here for a music festival (Shaky Knees) and really enjoyed our time here. The place, considering the tens of thousands (?) of people that were here seemed like a pretty nice area. It's kind of hard to tell as there is so much going on and an abundance of litter and things like that which are probably not a normal part of what a normal day would look like if you came here. As others have said they do have some basketball courts and tennis courts that look like they are in nice condition. We are somewhat too far away and would never use this place for those things, but if you're local it looks like it would provide a great option if you enjoy either of those activities. I'd definitely return to come to the festival again and would recommend this park to others.

Yelp
Nice little park with a lot of amenities. There are some very good tennis and basketball courts. Also a baseball and a couple of small football fields. There's a little park with slides bd monkey bars for small kids. The only thing is that there's not a soccer field. I think this city underestimates how many people would appreciate small soccer pitches around for 5 v 5 pick up games. Also no place close by to buy some water or food

Yelp
This is a great park, sorely underutilized. The Atlanta hawks basketball courts are beautifully done and the tennis courts are abundant and open most of the time. Great public amenity

Yelp
I rarely drive down this street so I don't often pass the park. The Atlanta Hawks held a community event here last month. The park is very big with tennis basketball courts. There is free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Yelp
Wow! After spending the weekend there for Shaky Knees 2015, I am so pumped that this beautiful park exist so close to me! Definitely a place to go if you want to spend a day at the park and want to avoid the crowds at Piedmont Park.

Yelp
Great park. Under used. It also has a basketball court. I think this neighborhood is the next up and coming neighborhood in Atl. Like westside was 5 years ago. If they could only fix the homeless problem.

Scott E.

Yelp
The upper field is mostly dirt. Probably because Atlanta desperately needs more parks. Lots of groups practicing flag football and sometimes there's organized ultimate frisbee at nights (usually Tuesday or Wednesday)
