The Best Walking Tours of New York City (Updated 2025)

"I went on a Central Park Conservancy tour to learn more about the park’s landmarks—the popular Iconic Views tour covers the Mall, Sheep’s Meadow, and Bethesda Terrace—and discovered they also offer nature hikes, birding, family-friendly, and indigenous-history tours as well as seasonal options (cherry blossom and Halloween). Most tours run about 90 minutes though some hikes last several hours, tickets can be purchased online, and prices start from about $33." - Matthew Kepnes

We recently joined the Central Park Conservancy’s Great Central Park Hike, and it was truly one of the most fascinating ways to experience the park. Over the course of four hours, our guide, Ryan, took us through some of the park’s most beautiful and often overlooked architectural gems. Ryan’s depth of knowledge about the park’s history, design, and craftsmanship made every stop feel meaningful. We explored everything from iconic cast-iron bridges to hidden stone arches tucked into the quieter parts of the park. I loved learning about the vision behind Olmsted and Vaux’s designs and how each arch was intentionally integrated into the landscape. Ryan added great stories, pointed out details I never would have noticed on my own, and kept the group engaged the entire time. If you enjoy architecture, history, or simply want to get to see Central Park in a new way, this tour is absolutely worth it. Four hours flew by. Highly recommend!

Google
With just one day to explore Central Park, my friend and I booked the walking Iconic Tour—and we’re glad we did. Our guide, Davina (apologies if I’ve misspelled her name), was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. She shared insights about the park’s history and design and took us to many beautiful spots that were thoughtfully chosen. The tour was well-paced and gave us a good feel for the park. I highly recommend this tour if you're short on time but want to learn about the park and see the highlights!

Joanne W.

Google
Can I give it more than 5 stars!! Delightful! Amazing! Beautiful! Heck all the " 'fuls"! Haha...go!!

Leslie S.

Google
Took the "Heart of the Park" guided tour and loved it! The tour guide was so knowledgable and it was nice to be in a small group. It was so interesting to hear about the history behind what I had seen many times but did not know the full meaning of. Definitely recommend touring the park with the experts who care for it!

Pamela G.

Google
The e-vehicle riding is so reckless making walking in the park imposssible and incredibly dangerous! The new redesign of the loop has only made it worse! I was hit by such a vehicle I am left paralyzed on one side. The pedestrian walk signs and blind sound enabled walk system has been covered in burlap!! One must dodge speedy (30mls per hr ) reckless riders taking their lives into their own hands to cross park drive! The ped pathways are in total disrepair. The conservancy ignores how dangerous these potholes are for anyone to walk and not trip. Let alone the disabled. Where’s all the money going? What good are tulips if you can’t walk safely to enjoy them!

Andrew F.

Google
Shame that they are redesigning the Park to serve high-speed e-vehicles. Crossing the Park Drive is as treacherous as every. It seems that there are accidents every day. I know plenty of Seniors who will no longer visit for fear of getting hit. Do better!

Janet S.

Google
Because of Betsy Smith and CPC selling our to the wealthy bike lobby and big real estate it has been over-run by dangerous e vehicles and illedal e pedicabs. Fight Back! E vehicles do not belong in our parks. Our Parks are for relaxation and recreation, NOT TRANSPORTATION!!

KLK

Google
Shame on you for putting more bike lanes in the park!!! Just terrible. And all this construction in the spring. Ebike lanes will not improve safety for pedestrians. This has been proven all around the city. This will go down in history as the 1st step to ruin Central Park.

Yelp
Central Park, is a must, while in NY, visiting Manhattan. The park is huge so we split in 2-day visit and what 24 hour change of scenery of lakes, scenic walking paths, and lush meadows...perspective seeing on an cloudy afternoon and light snowy day. Beautiful. We rode the horse carriage (a must) around this park and saved $50 by paying in cash. The ride was worth it hearing local stories and tidbits from coachman (aka horse driver). It's nice seeing locals enjoying brisk runs and visitors stopping every mile or so capturing pictures...everyone can enjoy this beautiful for nature and move enthusiasts alike. We tried to look for iconic settings for Home Alone and You Got Mail snippets were filmed.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this icon yet?! I recently visited NYC for the third time, and it was my third time visiting Central Park. This park is a national treasure and never gets old. I love walking through it during the different seasons to see how it changes. I love seeing locals and tourists alike enjoy and make the most of the green space. I love how much there is to see throughout the park - and how many iconic movie and show moments happened here! Of course, five stars all around.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing park! Central Park is famous. You've seen it in all the movies and tv shows. It's just awesome, the word park makes it sound like some grass with a playground. It's so much more than that. It's a whole experience! They have a zoo, lots of areas you can sit down, an ice skating rink, and food options also. You could spend a whole day, just exploring the park.

Yelp
Living next to different parts of Central Park is a bit of a treat for us. I lived at the Northend for over 7 years, and now at the Southend. Also worked in the UWS for over 10 years. I'd say that each part of the park has its own unique vibe, but it's all a nice escape from the city. I find myself purposely finding excuses to walk through the park, even if it's clearly out of the way or causes multiple detours. I've walked through the park, has to be a thousand times, but I still find new places to sit and watch life moving around me. During COVID the park was a safe haven to be outside to read and find calmness. The conservancy does a great job keeping the park clean and safe for us.
google avatar

Yelp
Still one of the best places in NYC to get in a run. Many of the NYRR races are help here throughout the year. With about a 10K loop around it makes for a great training session. As I'm starting marathon training for London over the winter I'll be living here.
google avatar

Marianne W.

Yelp
Central Park Conservancy is going strong. Through the efforts of members and volunteers we have a beautiful park that gives us a peaceful refuge from the city streets. There's so much to see and lots of seasonal activities all year long. I'm not going to go on and on about how much dedication and commitment the Conservancy and its employees have to keeping Central Park clean and safe. For years I've been thinking about donating and I decided to make a commitment with my monthly donation. If you love the park as much as I do maybe you would make a donation too. I'm recommending.
google avatar

Yelp
It's just a unique place to visit in Central Park . You can take bus up 3rd till the street it on and walk from 5th . It's nice all year around . Don't miss it .

Yelp
I love central park, especially for playing pokemon go. Yes, I still play pokemon go. It's such a beautiful park, I especially like it during this time of year because of the beautiful fall leaves. I love going over to the pond area because it's so peaceful. Laying on the grass in the summer is extremely fun too. I just am never in the park after dark. Great place for picnics and special events.
google avatar

Lindsay H.

Yelp
An enormous green space conserved (and thriving) within an urban center? The highlight of our NYC trip was visiting this green oasis in the outskirts of NY chaos. We enjoyed the pond with sailboats to rent/control, the many playgrounds, trails galore, climbing rocks, the Alice in Wonderland statue, and people watching (the kids especially enjoyed watching the dogs play fetch).
google avatar

Yelp
Central Park was interesting. It was nothing like what I've seen on TV and movies, in both good and bad ways. It was very pretty, but somewhat underwhelming. What was kind of funny is that it was raining on the day that I went, and yet the sprinklers were going full blast. I only saw one homeless person, and the restrooms were very clean. A lot of the parks were closed, but I'm not a child so I didn't really care. I also saw a lot of really pretty horses. I wish people wouldn't smoke marijuana in the park, as I hate the smell, but I guess there's nothing you can really do about that. All-in-all, I'm glad I checked Central Park off of my bucket list, but it wasn't anything special.

Yelp
Central Park is a MUST do on any NYC trip. It is truly my favorite place to be, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed in the big city. There are so many famous places to visit in Central Park, so I suggest researching those before you plan your visit. Additionally, you can swing by the Central Park Conservancy Shop and chat with the customer service for ideas. The park is enormous, and although it wouldn't be difficult to spend your entire day there, it would be very difficult to see every spot in the park. I suggest creating a Central Park bucket list of three things you want to see. My personal favorites are the Imagine mosaic (John Lennon Memorial) at Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain/Terrace, and the Bow Bridge. Of course a trip to Central Park would not be complete without a stop at one of the Nathan's hot dog stands. There are plenty of food stands throughout the park, so my suggestion is bringing a water bottle and a small blanket, so you can grab food when you're hungry and have a small picnic!
google avatar

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Need to get away from the intense urban NYC landscape? Visit Central Park for a relaxing escape with nature :) Walking through just a small fraction of the park revealed gorgeous views of the waters, greenery, and skyscrapers. I wish I had more time to keep exploring - Definitely renting a bike next time to cover more ground quickly!  Watch out for the trails of stinky horse manure.
google avatar

Yelp
THE CENTRAL PARK CONSERVANCY is active in planting flowers and removing trash to restoring historic structures and offering hundreds of public tours and events. Excellent way to support NYC's park!

Theresa S.

Yelp
We did a tour trough the Central Park conservancy. It was amazing. Juan our guide was exceptional. I've been to Central Park many many times and have done previous tours, but this was the best yet! Highly recommend to book through them for a top notch, educational experience.

Yelp
Central Park is one of my absolute favorite places in NYC. It's an outdoor oasis to enjoy amongst the hustle and bustle of the city below. They have this awesome loop that traverses through the whole park and I've been taking advantage of it on my bike! It is a 6 mile loop that is not for the faint of heart. I say that because those hills are killer! I'm the type that will try to push through those hills without stopping, to be rewarded with the gratifying downhill on the other side. If you go during the daytime, before 3 PM, there would be minimal bikers and runners so you get a sense of peace riding through the park. Come 3 PM, people are off work and kids are off school so the park definitely becomes more crowded. Just need to be more careful of pedestrians that don't pay attention when they walk.
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
Anyone else a John Wick fan? Was fangirling over standing near the Bethesda Fountain and just enjoying the overall slow and calm of the park. In alignment with what many websites and people say about Central Park, it's definitely worth visiting while in NY both for the intrinsic significance of the place but also to get away from the business of the city. There's a lot more to see here that will probably take at least a full day (pack some comfy shoes and a water bottle).
google avatar

Murray F.

Yelp
Extremely beautiful with a lot of history! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and loved it. It's always unique, always fun. I always have a great day when I come here. If you've never been to cental park, you really are missing out and need to check it out.

Bill R.

Yelp
Great experience walking in Central Park A refreshing respite from the Big Apple never disappoints. Great place to people watch and reflect on life in this crazy world while enjoying the beauty of nature !
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
The crowds will be there; attempts have been made to control them by creating various bike lines and one-way paths, but the crowds will be there. Innumerable permutations of the park await, from a wildflower meadow to pickleball. The fruit vendors that are of the moment are selling cups of mango here as they are everywhere else in the city. There's not much to say about the place that hasn't been said, and there's not many reasons not to go.
google avatar

Janine D.

Yelp
We took the "Heart of the Park" tour of Central Park. This is approximately 1.5 miles of level ground, crossing through the center of Central Park in NYC. We found the tour to be excellent. Our guide was well informed and provided many interesting insights into the park's development and design. Well worth the time. Fees support the Conservancy's efforts to maintain the park. Each season would provide differing views and scenery.

Frank W.

Yelp
I love Central Park. It's the city's backyard. Always an amazing time when I have time to spend roaming.
google avatar

Yelp
I mean who doesn't love Central Park? It's one of the most beautiful green spaces in NYC, and we are so blessed to have it. The sheer size of this park is amazing. In the last couple years, I've began running more races including the NYC Marathon twice now and it's always such a joy to be able to run in Central Park. I only wish I lived nearby to run in the park daily but since I don't, that also makes it more special when I get the chance to run in the park. Bikeriding is also another activity I enjoy in Central Park. I like to rent CitiBikes and ride the outer loop. But be aware - the hills are killer not only to run but also to bike. There is Cat Hill on the east side, Harlem Hill at the top of the park, and the Three Sisters on the upper west side of the park. I think I hate The Three Sisters the most because they're much more subtle and never ending than the other two hills. But either way they're all a fantastic workout. I also love all of the fun activities and events that take place in the park. From Good Morning America Summer Concert Series (hello BSB!) to Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte Theater (which always has the most incredible all-star casting) to the New York Philharmonic - the events are plentiful and so much fun. There's also ice skating in the winter too which I've enjoyed. And the foliage and flowers are so beautiful. The spring flowers and fall leaves are some of my favorite times of the year to visit Central Park. The Conservatory Garden is also very pretty when in bloom. Also be sure to stop by the Tavern on the Green's to-go window - they have the best hot chocolate and banana bread! As many times as I've been to Central Park, I know there are still so many parts of the park I still need to explore.

Yelp
Booked a Central Park tour, ICONIC VIEWS OF CENTRAL PARK, through the Central Park Conservancy. https://www.centralparknyc.org/activities/tours/iconic-views-of-central-park-tour. It was an excellent tour led by Jose, a most knowledgeable guide, which we highly recommend. We heard a lot about architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. We saw bridges, Sheep Meadow, walked along the Mall, etc. We also learned that the Park is managed and maintained by the Central Park Conservancy. The part of Central Park we saw was beautiful. The bathrooms were well-maintained and so very clean (for me this was very important and I was highly impressed as it isn't easy to keep a public bathroom clean). New Yorkers are fortunate to have the Central Park Conservancy managing and maintaining the Park for them and tourists, as they are doing an excellent job.

Yelp
Beautiful place to walk read and enjoy some nature in the city, if you're lucky you can enjoy some live performances.
google avatar

Ramona G.

Yelp
I love Central Park! It's so iconic and it's just a beautiful place. I had been here once before back in high school, but it was just a brief visit. I came back again with my parents a couple of months ago and came for an early morning walk in the rain. There were hardly any people there which added to its appeal. Central Park reminds me of a lot of movies and tv shows like "Sex & the City", "27 Dresses", "Elf", "Friends with Benefits", "Impractical Jokers" etc. I love seeing the places that are on tv. The points of interest that we got to visit were the Bethesda Arcade, Alice in Wonderland Statue, Loeb Boathouse, Metropolitan Museum of Art (MOMA). If you're visiting NYC, Central Park should definitely be on your to-do list!
google avatar

Scarlett H.

Yelp
Central Park doesn't need any reviews! It is so famous and so popular - when movies want to tell you the story happens in New York, what do they often do? They start with a scene in Central Park! My little writing here is just a small attempt to offer a few tips: IF you happen to be one of those people who LOVE to take photos and you want to have some shots that look like scenes in the movies, or, better yet, pages from the photography magazines, then there is no better place than the southern section of the park! Because it's adjacent to midtown Manhattan, you get these nice views with sky scrapers behind the trees. And there are so so so many places where every direction you look there's an amazing view! So get your camera, or just your cell phone, and come on in! You'll have a blast!
google avatar

Adri R.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. Such a great way spend a day, enjoying the outdoors and see wildlife. So much to see and do in Central Park!

Yelp
No visit to NYC would be complete without a visit to Central Park. The 843-acre green oasis is a must-see destination for cycling, jogging, walking, picnicking, sunbathing, concerting, whatever your into this park will have something for everyone. Rich in history with plenty to see and take in you probably can't experience it ALL in one day. The cherry blossoms are perfect in April and there are a ton of flower beds throughout. Strawberry Fields, a peaceful garden that pays tribute to John Lennon and his message of peace make sure to check out the "Imagine" mosaic. One of the park's most iconic landmarks is the Bow Bridge, an elegant cast-iron structure that spans the lake and offers stunning views of the city skyline. Strolling across the bridge, surrounded by the vibrant fall foliage is perfect in October when the trees turn shades of orange, red, and gold. You will see at least one photoshoot here on any given visit. Belvedere castle gives you a unique elevated view overlooking Turtle Pond. The secret waterfall is a great stop if you can find it, Alice in wonderland is too cute to miss, and Bethesda terrace and fountain is absolutely magnificent. In the winter, the park transforms into a winter wonderland, with ice-skating at Wollman Rink, take in the stunning views of the surrounding cityscape, and warm up with a hot cocoa. With so much to see and do in Central Park, it's no wonder that this beloved green space is one of the most visited attractions in all of New York City by residents and tourists alike. I'll be back until I have seen it all.

Skyla T.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the staff, they are very disrespectful and don't know how to act. they are here acting like a waste of space with no manners. ruined my whole trip bc y'all hire nasty ppl that don't know how to act
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
I really love Central Park. There is so much activities here. The residence of NYC are very lucky to have such a clean and beautiful park. It is a convenient park that you can get to by Metro. There are so many things to see here. There is a skating rink, the castle in the center of the park, a performance center and etc. The park back home Stanley Park in Vancouver BC which is 1/5 bigger than the Central park, is not as well laid out as Central Park. Central Park is amazing. I feel safe walking in Central Park past 6 pm unlike Stanley Park in Vancouver. Thumbs up to whoever is managing the park
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
Can you imagine a better organization than the one taking care of our amazing Central Park. Started by the local residents when the park was unkempt and uncared for with garbage piling up and water pooling into stinky marshes. Since then the Conservancy has done sooo much to make the park What it is today - an oasis in a crazy, dirty, crowded metropolis, the breath of fresh air amid the concrete jungle. Especially during this time of year, in April and may, when so Many flowers and trees are in bloom that you can appreciate the full Beauty and Majesty of the park. Support this organization any way you can: donate, volunteer, follow on social media.

Yelp
It's really beautiful, unique. So big, I hope they never tear the place down for more development. I come here often and just love sitting on the grass. The people are unique, the views are nice. It's a wonderful experience that everyone has to see at some point
google avatar

Brenna B.

Yelp
What can I say about THE Central Park?? I absolutely love this park. It is HUGE and we didn't get to see the entire thing, but the parts that we did see were nice. We were offered a tour by several people as we entered the park. We declined, but it sounded like a good thing to purchase if you have the time. They will show you all of the best landmarks and areas where movies were filmed, etc. We did walk through about half of the park and due to my own research before visiting New York, we got to see a bunch of the areas where Home Alone was filmed. Aside from that, the park was just so beautiful. Lots to do and see. There were a many types of artists throughout the park (one man had pictures he drew, several musicians, photographers, etc.). We saw like so many couples taking engagement/wedding photos and I can bet the pictures were gorgeous. Plenty of puppies/dogs everywhere lol, so many people in all walks of life. This place is beautiful and I know we will be visiting again. One of the coolest free things to do/see in NYC.

Yelp
Is there a better way to enjoy hot summers day in the World's Capitol then in Central Park. There are so many activities to do from carriage rides, cycling, running, picnic, the music, the Central Park Zoo...excuse me this is still a sample of things to do. While in Manhattan, it was a must stop to visit the park and I did so on several occasions because you're not going to see or do everything in one visit. Honestly, you could be on vacation for weeks and still not enjoy everything that Central Park has to offer. My daughter and I enjoyed a stroll through the Park and took in the sights, sounds and smells of food. After a leisurely stroll we then took to riding bikes and it was an amazing experience that you have to experience for yourself. I can only speak for myself but I believe that Central Park is an oasis from the grind that NYC puts you through on a daily basis. I will also say that since Central Park takes you away from the hustle and bustle that is New York City, you're always reminded that you're in the City because the skyline tends to be prominent wherever you may be. As I said before, you will need more than one or two days to explore because Central Park is so vast and inviting. And you'll always notice something different that the park has to offer. One thing that I forgot to say is that Central Park is Free, don't sleep on that because NYC is expensive and anything reprieve from spending money is a welcome sight.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
It is hard to know what new thing there is to say about Central Park that hasn't already been said, but in the name of adding the best park in America to my Yelp diary, here we are. With each step you take here there's some new piece of nature or history to marvel at. Where else can you scream "Oooooho, Giselle!" a la Enchanted as you cross the Reservoir Bridge? The answer is nowhere. Nowhere else. I also suggest following the Central Park Instagram page as they have wonderful conservancy tips and new ideas of places to explore within the park. In a city dominated by capitalism, purchase power, and real estate, the magic of being able to sit in a natural oasis in the midst of the chaos wasn't lost on me. In my most recent trip, I entered the park on the west side at 69th, took yoga class in Sheeps' meadow, then spent the remainder of the day wandering North, stopping into the Guggenheim by the time the afternoon came. I highly recommend this! You'll stroll past bridges, the Bethesda fountain, the boathouse, and the scenic conservatory water. I stopped for a little journaling and relaxation there, which was exactly what I needed after walking 4 miles. SO many dogs to look at. SO many activities to choose from. ILYSM, Central park.

Yelp
Central Park is an amazing spot to relax and unwind after a long day or week. I really enjoy coming here and just sitting down to people watch when I have long layovers at JFK. It's such a beautiful and serene place to be in nature in the middle of one of the busiest cities on Earth. There's also something for everyone here. From jogging to riding bikes, skateboarding, eating food, etc. etc. The park is divided into different areas for people with different interests and I love that. With all the hustle and bustle of New York City, it's so easy to feel overwhelmed, but this is a place where you can be at peace.
google avatar

Lexi M.

Yelp
If your looking for a mini escape from the city, if you're needing a great spot for a run, if you need somewhere to get lost, if you want to hit some famous spots this park is the place! You can come here a million times and still see something you haven't seen before. I highly recommend this place for a place to walk around when you come to NYC.
google avatar

Leah Anh N.

Yelp
Great park, lots of things to see. Glad to see people there just to picnic or sit and chill. There were people singing and dancing. The atmosphere is so inviting. If you are hungry, lots of food stands. Has vibrant feel then one hiking part that does not feel like you are in the city.
google avatar

Film M.

Yelp
The crown jewel of New York City. Go to the park, then give a few dollars to the CPC. You will be glad you did. And it's the right thing to do too.
google avatar

Yelp
Why am I writing a review about this? Why do you want to know about the largest park in New York City? Why would you want to walk around all this green space? For what? A zoo? A few historical buildings? The Sheep Meadow? Strawberry Fields? Maybe you want to go on those overpriced carriage rides? Why do you care? Why am I writing a review about this? So I could add to my review total? So you can see how massive this park is? So you understand that you need two or even three days to cover it all? So it is easy accessible by subway? So that you can row across the lake on a rowboat while looking like everybody else? So what? Why am I writing a review about this? For your own keepsake? For a checkbox item in the Big Apple? For that bucket list? For your own sanity? For all your social media accounts? So what? For what? Why am I writing a review about this?

Yelp
Lovely park in New York City. This park is one of the largest parks in USA, I love all the trees and peaceful sounds of the birds and wind flowing. You can find ao many musicians playing instruments and singing their heart out. Great place for photos and an outdoor brunch, running, biking, painting, etc. This is a must, when visiting NY.
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
Central Park was one of the places I just HAD to bring my bf for his first trip to NYC. If you looked up the word "iconic," it's Central Park that would be pictured there. This park is huge (I mean MASSIVE), so my suggestion would be to do some research and see what areas you'd like to visit, where your interests lie. For us, it was the area around the Met, some bridges, the Literary Walk and Bethesda fountain. This doesn't mean I don't suggest coming in blindly and meandering around. That works too, but I'm one of those people who has FOMO and I'd hate for you to miss something you're interested in. When I first moved to NYC, I would come to the park and spend a whole day exploring, there's a lot to do. So... put some sunscreen on and have a blast in this gorgeous respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Great place to walk and enjoy nature as well as people watch. Some very talented people from singers to dances around here and there. Wonderful walk for everyone.

Yelp
There is so much to do in this huge urban park in NYC. Located between the Upper West side and the Upper East side 5th Avenue, and between 59th and 110th Street, covering 843 acres in the middle of Manhattan. They also have two nice restaurants, Tavern on the Green and the Boathouse within the park. It is the most visited urban park in the United States. Main attractions include; the Ramble and lake, Hallett Nature Sanctuary, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, Sheep Meadow, John Legend's Imagine, Wollman Rink, Central Park Carousel, Central Park Zoo, Central Park Mall, Belvedere Castle, Bethesda Terrace, Delacorte Theater, diverse ecosystem with species of flora and fauna, roads, walkways, walking, hiking,, carriage rides, bicycling, sports, playgrounds, concerts and events. With eight lakes and ponds along with the beautiful views makes visiting Central Park a must do in NYC.
google avatar

Alisa J.

Yelp
Wonderful park with lots to see. Belvedere castle is a great sight in the park and I recommend biking on the large bike paths and people watching. There's so much and the park is so big so you could spend hours wandering. Great for a nice walk and you can avoid smelling weed at this park which is nice.
google avatar

Keshante A.

Yelp
Hands-down my favorite attraction in NYC. I spent hours here and came back the following day. There's so much to see. It's such a nice break from the hustle of the city. So peaceful. There were a few spots where people were playing live music. I'm not sure how much of the park I covered but I was able to visit Bethesda fountain, Belvedere castle, strawberry fields, a lake, and cherry hill. I wish I had another day to bike the park. I wish there were more bathrooms around though, maybe there's a map for that. Overall it was just lovely.

Yelp
I live on the 55th Street and Central Park is my gateway from the hustling city vibe. I enjoy my morning runs here and totally adore the vibe of the park.

Yelp
Simply beautiful. NYC has the best parks period. Central Park is definitely one of the best parks in the state and honestly in the country. Just let that sink in for a minute. Being from the Bay, I come from a land of beautiful San Francisco parks. Now, I'm not saying that SF parks aren't wonderful. But what I'll say is that NY parks just hit differently for me. Especially Central Park. There's just nothing else like it. Nothing else. After visiting NYC a few times, I finally made it to Central Park this year. It was everything that I had imagined it to be. Beautifully green, eclectically urban, and wholly enjoyable. You've got gorgeous views of the city all around you, tree lined paths almost all the way through, and so many nice places to sit and relax. This park is huge! Over 840 acres of pure bliss. Sure there are larger parks by acreage, but Central Park just feels bigger than it is. It's the appeal and the vibe. It's the placement right smack dab in the middle of the city. What's also so wonderful about this park are all of the little landmarks within the park itself. You've got the gorgeous view of the Jackie O Reservoir, Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, and the Conservatory Garden which are just to name a few. It's a busy park but it's easy to spread out because it's so large. You can have lunch here, people watch, ride your bike, walk, run, explore. There's so much to do. One of the elements that I enjoy the most about Central Park is the diversity. You'll really be amongst all walks of life here. ALL walks of life. People from all over the world come to visit this iconic park every single day. It's so satisfying to see everyone enjoying this park. As I write this review, I'm realizing how much I actually miss being here. I'm counting the days until my next visit.

Yelp
My 500th review and what better way than to have it about Central Park. Was even better than I expected (and I expected a lot!); definitely a highlight of my NYC trip. What a gorgeous, clean, and spacious park. A bit overwhelming as it's also enormous (where do I even start exploring??) but as a game plan I had a goal of hitting up certain landmarks at the park (Bethesda Terrace, Belvedere Castle, and Alice in Wonderland statue). Even the stroll to get to these places was amazing; even on a Saturday there were areas where I was all by my lonesome in a quiet atmosphere absorbing all of the nature. Definitely a refreshing place to go to away from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
