An redundant prison inaugurated on 9th June 1904 on the corner of L'Eixample. The name derives from the intention of serving as a model for the reform of the prison system. It operated for 113 years through historic times which included the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera, the Second Republic, the Spanish Civil War & the Franco era. The Council will be refurbishing it in the future for community purposes.
