Centre Street Bistro

The food was among the best I have ever had. The tomato and mushroom soup was definitely the best bowl of soup ever put in front of me. As well, the special that day, Cajun shrimp with grits and collard greens, exceeded expectations. The place is VERY cozy (can seat maybe 20) but worth it. Call ahead to reserve or see if there's room.

Came in for Sunday brunch while visiting the island for the weekend. The restaurant is quite small - 8 tables or so - and quite cozy. Simple decorations and interior accompanied by fantastic food. The Nantucket Breakfast was delicious! Best blueberry pancake and potato pancake I've had!

Rating is solely based on food. The place is incredibly small and the waitress not super friendly. But our lunch made up for it. Simply delicious wrap and salads. Disappointed that they ran out of dessert. That I don’t get. But overall Really enjoyed it as I found so many talked about places in town are not worth it. Bathroom here is filthy.

Small, intimate and one of the best places to dine on Nantucket. The menu changes frequently though many favorites are always present. It is BYOB so bring your favorite bottle of wine. Brunch is always excellent too. Enjoy.

Food is mediocre, at best. My salmon was drastically overcooked and dry. I expect more from an establishment on such a prominent island. Service is stale and not so memorable. Outdoor atmosphere, okay but expect to sit in plastic patio chairs.

The food was good however the waitress, Ana (think that's what she said her name was), got upset because some tables did not pay the gratuity. Let this be clear WE HAD NO PROBLEM TO PAY!!! We did not know that it was MANDATORY! She started clapping her hands at us, saying we were rude and what not. We apologized and I went back inside to try and pay her for the tables that didn't include their gratuity. She took $30 for my table and when I tried to pay for the other table she THREW the $20 I gave her on a tray saying it's ok. Please note it was a party of 15 people who are international exchange trainees, WE DID NOT KNOW! If you do dine here, please remember her 15% - 20% gratuity... Thank God it was after the meal, she probably would have spit in the meals.

It could have been a perfect dinner if it wasnt for the waitress (Ana is what she said her name was) who became super rude when she got a " not so generous tip" as she expected. Next time if people don't know about the 15-20% gratuity inform them in a much more civilised and respectful way. Treat everyone with respect especially when they come from all around the world.
