"Elena Garro Cultural Center is a wonderful place to meet around books. Its attractive architecture, which includes books, trees and walls of concrete and glass; its rich publishing offer, which favors editions of the cultural sector, as well as new private and independent publishers, and its ongoing program of activities that includes various cultural expressions for all ages, make this center ideal for a recreation space for chat or study with an intellectual and playful vibe. Readers, as always, are invited to tour their shelves, illuminated by the atmosphere of Coyoacán. No doubt a contemporary jewel hidden in the heart of Coyoacán." - Leolab

Architectural gem. It appears that the tree that was a hallmark of the interior has been cut down

This is a special book store. You can find here a large variety of books no only in Spanish, also in other languages like English and French. There are also activities for kids on Sundays. This book store is not only special for the variety of books and Sunday activities,it used to be Elena Garro house. Elena Garro was a Mexican screenwriter, journalist, dramaturg, short story writer, and novelist. She also famous for been Octavio Paz wife .

The moment you enter the architecture of this place, it is literally super beautiful, I loved that apart from the books there is a cafeteria and not only that but also a terrace inside with all kinds of books you can find. There are all kinds of books whether psychology, science, juvenile and more and also people who do not like to read much there is another section of movies. I recommend it, and the people there, they serve you very well.

A beautiful library, in a beautiful neighborhood and with a well cured selection of books (not sure if also in English). Architecturally interesting, where an old mansion has been covered by a large and lofty structure, creating brightly lit spaces.

Great bookstore off the beaten path in Coyoacán. But off the beaten path is the point. Plenty of places to sit, plus a café?

I went there to see this architectural landmark in coayacan, however the staff are not friendly and you CANNOT TAKE ANY PICTURES… because they don’t want you to use it on your social media. That’s insane for a cultural center and the first time that has happened. Many archi students were on the same position of me and got very disappointed with their treatment. Other than that I must say the library is very nice and has a nice selection of books.

I have always loved this place. There's too much potential in it. Work has to be done so it can reach it. The variety of books found here is great. You should come, buy a book and stay of quick cup of coffee as you relax.

Great bookstore! You can find speciality books here. I rated 4 starts only because it lacks a café, but you won't really miss it because Coyoacán is full of them.

Yelp
The Centro Cultural Elena Garro is one of the most gorgeous, modern bookstores I have ever visited: lots of glass, reflections of the trees outside, and so bright! And on a beautiful block of Coyoacan! It was so well organized and stocked! I love to visit bookstores, and this one is well worth a visit - whether you love to love browse or are looking for a book!

Yelp
I bought 3 volumes of Sor Juana poetry here. Some English language books for gender studies and philosophy. Lots of economics and social science books in Spanish. Mexican intelligentsia hang out. It's no Barnes and Noble. Nice cafe.
