"A Convent as Accommodation? I did and I'm not religious. While traveling through Italy, my art history professor booked us students into religious colleges and convents. Wether it was to save money or because she thought osmosis would occur and our knowledge of Venetian Religious Art would be enhanced, I am not sure. However, as a non-religious person I really didn't mind staying in a space dedicated to Christianity. The rooms were clean and the breakfast conversation was as interesting as the breakfast itself. But there is Wi-Fi, serene areas to write, relax and take in the sounds of the connecting church and the location is ideal for any traveler looking to explore a part of Venice that many tourists don't see. The view from your room won't disappoint either, and unlike hostels, for some reason I just felt like my stuff was safer with the prying eyes of Mother Mary, the crucifix adorned in every room and paintings of Don Orione looking over you."

My team and i spent there a week for a workshop. It's huuuge!! The rooms were essential but clean, the working space very well conceived. We particularly liked the courtyards and the cloisters. Location is fantastic, but breakfast could be improved by adding some fresh fruits, for instance. The personnel was lovely

Large rooms with everything you need, NB no TV (why are you watching TV in Venice?) En suite bathroom. Everywhere spotlessly clean and rooms serviced daily. Cotton sheet towels changed daily and work really well despite what you might think at first glance. 24 hour staffed reception. Lovely people. Coffee at breakfast wasn't great. Time for a new bean to cup machine perhaps? Breakfast of perfectly good standard but variety and range somewhat limited. Great place to stay in a really good location. Just 100 metres from Zattere vaporetto stop. Short, safe walk to Accademia.

Great staff but sparse accommodations. This makes sense since it was a monastery. No TV in room and simple breakfast included. Great access to water taxis and walkable to many prime sites.

Nice accommodations in the Dorsoduro district in Venice. The front desk staff is very nice and the rooms are air conditioned with a daily housekeeping service. Large breakfast with fresh croissants daily. Located right next to the Zattere Waterbus stop. Free WiFi.

Very clean. Towel was a bit weird. Breakfast were just for tourist. Most processed foods. Well Italians don't eat breakfast

Reception staff were friendly and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage in the morning ahead of checking in later. Excellent location. The room was VERY basic. No fridge, no drinking glasses, no kettle, no iron to iron garments. The bed was quite comfortable, pillows good. Temperature in the room was not adjustable but comfortable for us. You could easily hear your neighbour talking in the room next door (which he did till midnight). The bathroom was not very clean (hair from previous guest on the floor) and you could see it was not mopped thoroughly. The shower was good, hot and great pressure. The breakfast was basic, no cooked food. Overall, very expensive for such basic accommodation ($950aud for 2 nights!!!). You would be able to find better and cheaper accommodation.

Breakfast is served without any hot food: no eggs, no bacon, nothing. Only one salami, so you don’t know if your chosen slice has been sitting on the open plate for several days already. One cheese. The only kind of croissants on offer is sugared. Orange juice contains more sugar than oranges. And the woman in charge over breakfast is very unkind and speaks no languages. The room we had was spacious but brazenly spare. I have slept in several other converted monasteries (one of them in Venice) and they were all better equipped. Toiletries are meagre. Mosquitoes are in battalions, and the seagulls are guaranteed to wake you up around 5:00 am. To top it all, the air conditioner is controlled from the Reception. Our room temperature had been set at 28°C when we arrived. AND the AC died after the storm which made the air sticky and very hot. The ONLY reason why not a single star is the fantastic location, very convenient if you like arts. That, and the receptionists were all wonderful people.

A quiet and comfortable stay for 4 nights. Rooms were simple and clean with wardrobe, chairs, desk and safe. The bathroom was equipped with shower, bidet, toilet, and washbasin. Continental breakfast was served between 0730 to 0930. Although not an enormous choice, there was cereal, rolls, salami, cheese, yoghurt, cake, tea, coffee and juice. Perfectly acceptable considering what one could eat out for lunch and dinner. Only breakfast is provided. We used the connected church to rehearse in and there were also conference facilities elsewhere in the sizeable former monastery, which had gardens and outside seating for warmer days. A lift is provided to all floors and luggage can be left if required. The staff were friendly and efficient and certainly bi-lingual. Government (tourist) room tax of €3 per night is payable at reception on departure. The Zattere waterbus pontoon is a few minutes walk away as is the Alalaguna airport boat service, which is even closer. The Accademia waterbus stop is no more than 5 minutes walk away on the Grand Canal. There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby by the boat stops.
