Centro Motel

This isn't your average motel. The service is first class and the amenities are thoughtful (when is the last time you saw bathrobes in a motel room? And they have a cute display of clean white rags for you to use if you have a spill or anything you want to clean up. So smart!). We stayed here for one night to visit my cousin on our way to Canmore and were lucky enough to get the last room on the main floor because my husband can't climb stairs. Both staff members I spoke to were smiling and friendly and so very welcoming. The person who took my reservation was very detailed and efficient, even reading back the information I had given him to make sure it was correct. The separate toilet and shower area is spacious, and the sink area has plenty of countertop for your toilettries. We did find the toilet paper holder to be rather far from the toilet (all rooms may not have the same layout). The air conditioner came on during the night which did wake me because I can be a light sleeper so I just used the earplugs that they provided on the bedside and I wasn't bothered anymore that night. I highly recommend this charming Motel. And the location of it on a quiet section of the highway in town was convenient for us to head to Canmore the next day.

What a lovely little place. After travelling all day we needed a place to lay our heads. We chose Centro Motel entirely because the price was right. We wanted clean and quiet and affordable. Walking up to the room I was reminded of the places we would stay as kids. I loved when my room had its own outside door. The outside is well lit and we felt safe leaving our vehicle. Once inside, there were all sorts of little surprises that one might not expect for the price.. Nice toiletries, Keirig machine and pods and a very clean room. Yes, it is. A bit dated but I didn’t even notice because everything was lovely. And the cleanliness was exceptional. The staff are next to none. Incredibly helpful and accommodating. We recommend and will stay here again.

Smiling staff, genuinely happy to see you and concerned if everything is ok for you. They provide 2 pairs or earplugs because the street is noisy, place is not soundproofed and the fridge is noisy too. They provided a pet blanket, such a cute and nice attention. Was 25$ if you wanted to buy it, my cat loved it, but was too expensive for me, would have bought it max 10$. Clean room. Smell of body wash was very masculine; a more neutral or fresh scent would have been nicer.

We booked it sort of last minute and they had the best price. We were so impressed with how clean everything was! Had been a long time since we've seen a lodge this clean. The accommodations are really good and comfy. It's very quiet, despite being right by the highway. Staf is amazing, very kind, patient and helpful. Chris helped us check in and he was incredibly nice. Definitely recommended!

I had such a great stay at Centro Motel! The hospitality here is top tier, everyone I met was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. You can tell the staff actually take pride in making sure guests are comfortable and happy. It’s rare to find service this thoughtful these days! The rooms were super clean and cozy, and if I needed help or just had a random question, someone was always there with a smile, ready to help without hesitation. If you’re looking for a place that actually feels welcoming and not just transactional, Centro Motel is it. 10/10 would stay again 💯

Ethan was amazing to deal with. When we arrived we realized we left our credit card at home 1.5 hrs away, and we had tickets to a show that was starting in 2 hours, definitely not enough time to go back home to get it. He arranged it to allow us to use our debit/visa. About 10 minutes after getting into our room, the phone rang and it was Ethan checking to make sure our room was ok with us! Never had that happen at any hotel I’ve stayed at! When we returned from our show about 11pm, we realized we didn’t have our phone charger. The young man at the desk gave us one to use with no problems! The next day at check out, he helped us look for our missing sunglasses, and joked with us when we found them in an obvious spot. It may not be fancy but it’s definitely nice and clean and has exceptional service! We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfy bed near the Trans Canada Hwy.

I’ve been driving across Canada for a week now and stayed in hotels/motels the whole way. Centro was unassuming, we found it by accident but was blown away. Out of all the places I’ve stayed it was the best; clean, convenient, friendly staff and surprisingly affordable. If you are driving through and looking for really great value I highly recommend this spot.

A great little place to stay. excellent front desk service. rooms were clean and modern with extras i didnt use but would be good for those that do. iron, ironing board. rooms were quiet and had a great sleep.

Booking a motel when coming from out of country can always be tricky. We were very happy at the cute little motel when we pulled in. The staff were great and gave us excellent dinner recommendations. The room is remodeled and while you can tell it used to be an older motel room, it is clean and quite adorable. I'd come back again at the great price!

Let's be honest; when I booked this motel room and told my husband where we were staying he got this look on his face like I screwed up. He grew up in this neighbourhood and always thought of this place as a hole. When we got here we were VERY delighted by all the renovations that had taken place. The rooms are clean, comfortable, remodelled well and have all your basic features. The staff has been tremendously helpful and friendly. I'm not saying this is a 5* resort but it's a great motel to crash in on your way to the mountains or in town for a rodeo or concert. Next door to a gas station, within walking distance to a subway and DQ and there's a coffee shop in sight.

We arrived in a heatwave, went to our room, and the door was already open. It's a motel, so the open door is kind of a security issue. We thought, well - let's make the best of it, then a really weak air conditioner made us change our mind. We were given another room, and the door would not close, click , nor lock. The staff member kept saying it worked before, - which is super, but that didn't fix the issue as we stood there melting. Overall, it's an alright place, a bit dinge-y, but for the price, I guess you get what you get right. The 1- star is for the staff actually following through and calling Expedia for us and getting us a complete refund. I was really glad he did that. Overall, mmmmmm.....don't do it.

This place is very good value for the price. The room has a modern feel, however materials used for updates were not the best quality and some things like paint and finishes were somewhat beaten up. The bathroom was clean and well kept, as well as the shower - looked brand new. The best part was the breakfast with fresh fruit such as apples and bananas, bagels, that were not stale, muffins, croissants, very tasty yogurt and organic orange juice. Again, incredible value for the cheapest motel in town.

So far so good. The staff is always helpful. Cleanroom upon arrival. Low noise for a budget motel. I paid a cash deposit for my room and have heard a few horror stories about getting a full refund. Things like a person got a comforter dirty (minus $25/day) little things like that. "They always seem to find something." I will find out in the morning. So far. I like it. Thank you for having me. Love this place. The front desk was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable and it was a convenient location to get on the road in the morning to Banff. I didn't find the location sketchy at all and had no issues during my stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Recently redone late 70s motel. Clean. Was the only thing available during stampede and the price reflected that. Menh. Go or don't.

A bit disappointed as the room was pretty small and the bathroom even smaller. The beds were clean however the room sure could have used a vacuum for sure. The coffee maker did not work and when mentioned it to the maid she was aware and apparently it had been mentioned before. It was replaced the next day. It is an older motel and looked to be recently updated.

Room was very clean, and the front desk service was very quick and efficient. Each room seems to have air conditioning, which was needed during our one night passing through Calgary, and it worked well with the digital thermostat. The decor was nice and fresh, even if some of the furniture was starting to show a little wear and tear (just some minor scuffs, bumped edges and corners, etc.) The only issue with the room was the bathroom fan which was very loud, and was hardwired to the bathroom light, so there was no way to turn it off. (my phone's decibel metre measured it at over 50 dB.) We were travelling with our Border Collie, and they are very welcoming of pets. We were very happy with our stay, and will definitely come again.

The Centro Motel is located at the Trans Canada Highway (N°1) in a suburb of Calgary. We booked the motel via booking.com as we wanted to have a place which is not directly in the city but from which we can go into the centre via publuc transportaion. First we were surprised by the high rating whicfh is unusual for a motel but when we arrived we knew why. The place is more like a design hotel than a motel. The rooms are big, clean and well decorated. The staff was very friendly, helpful and nice all the time. The neighborhood seems safe, ok which neighborhood in Canada isn't :-) but it is located in a nice living area. The breakfast was included in the rate as well and was really good. We felt like home here and we had nothing to complain about. 5 star rating are more the appreciated here!

Picked this motel completely at random from Expedia, and I was pleasantly surprised with it. The room was large and extremely clean. The free wi-fi was a little spotty, but it still worked. Most of the time. There is a continental breakfast offered each day starting at 7:00, but I was out the door by then, so I wasn't able to partake. The location wasn't exactly the greatest; the motel is situated on a very busy street, so if you're a light sleeper, that may be a problem for you. Also, I noticed a number of sketchy looking folks wandering up and down the street, so if you're not an equally sketchy looking person like me, that might also be a concern for you. All told, though, I would absolutely consider staying here again.

I really hate that I can't check in online when I am in Canada (phone data doesn't work here for me). But on to the review...... The rooms are clean, large and open. They have all been updated. It was actually a very nice stay! The staff was very friendly :) Free wifi. Free breakfast. Free calls to Canada and USA. The only downside? A little farther from downtown then I wanted to be!

We stayed here on our way through going to revelstoke. This place is conveniently located to hwy 1 and a good value accommodation. Despite it being next to a major road the noise wasn't too bad. It looks to be recently renovated and while the contractor appears to need to learn how to measure their cuts and use a level better the rooms are nice. They also have a nice simple continental breakfast to get you on your way.

I used to love this place, I've stayed here a few times over the years. My last experience was not pleasant. The rooms were dirty, the staff was rude and I was not impressed. When I complained about hair on my bed and stains on my towel the management told me there was nothing they could do. I asked them to move me and they said they couldn't. They also couldn't get anyone to clean the room so they handed me some sheets and told me to change them myself. They also told me to leave the dirty towels outside of the door (in the morning they were will laying there) I will not return to this place.

These rooms are very nice and clean. Great price for the stay. A couple issues we ran into was our room door wasn't locked when we entered, bath robes were not there and the fridge never got cold even when turned to max.

I am usually scared off by this style of old walk-up motels, but this place has been very nicely updated, was clean, and great amenities (fridge, wifi, bathrobes). I didn't find it "sketchy" at all (as mentioned in another review). I liked the location - easy access to downtown and the NW. Staff were very friendly and helpful with driving directions! I would definitely stay here again.
