I wish I could give this place a zero. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, and even then there are better locations in downtown than this. It's located next to St Paul's Hospital and the soundproof system is very poor. The whole building and the hotel rooms are so outdated with malfunctioning AC, insect-infested bathtub. They provided a make-shift sinking bed for a two-person suite. Housekeeping service is poor at another level: stains are left at the sink, garbage is not thrown, etc. We tried to complain at front desk but all we got as feedback was that there was nothing they could do. When we approached them in person at 9:30pm, all they cared was whether we were checking out. Ridiculous customer service. Also, this hotel does NOT provide basic necessities like toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers. So be prepared to bring your own or you'd have to go to the vending machine in P2 to pay for one. To pay $300 a night for this kind of service and quality in downtown Vancouver is utterly unacceptable and disappointing. What a terrible impression this leaves for Vancouver. I'm never recommending this hotel to any of my friends ever again.

Do not stay here - everything is outdated, broken, and does not get fixed upon request, although one of the hotel porters did try his best. The only positive is the restaurant, but you do not need to be staying here to enjoy that. There are plenty of better options on the same street - for a very similar price, one of which we moved to after just one night. Moreover, the pool is located deep underground, has no natural light, and looks like a setting for something sinister. Do not make our mistake and avoid this hotel.

We stayed here overnight for an appointment at St Paul’s Hospital. The location couldn’t be better and there was a rate for medical appointment stays. The property is older although functional. Ask for a room facing away from Burrard St for a quieter stay. We really appreciated having a kitchenette. There is an IGA two blocks away for groceries as well prefer to have breakfast in our room.||The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not use the gym or pool, so cannot comment. There is a parkade attached with a charge of $25. The best thing about this is that you can park until 5pm the following day which is so helpful for hospital appointments, etc. Although there aren’t any EV charging stations, there is a plug on the column at the end of Pe which allows for trickle charging.

Google
The hotel is ideally situated for visits to St.Pauls hospital which is why we chose it. However it is also ideal for downtown visits and shopping. The hotel staff are super kind and friendly. The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable and clean. We only used the coffee shop but can say with confidence that the coffee and baked goods are the best.

We had a great time stay in this hotel. The location is very convenient - Walking distance to Vancouver Art gallery, Canada Place, Stanley Park and all kinds of food choices. Service people and front desk people are very polite. Strong recommendation!

Google
The Century Plaza Hotel was a lovely hotel. Very clean and in a really nice position & a small walk to the main shops. The staff were very polite, helpful and very obliging. We stayed here on 2nd May, we arrived at 8.30 and my husband was very sick. It was to early to check in but i had to go and get some medication for him. When i arrived back about half an hour later they told me a room was ready. They really helped us out as my husband was really sick and needed a room and rest. We were starting a APT tour the next night so with him having the room early gave him time to rest up and recuperate. I would recommend this hotel because they also gave us a lovely room with a beautiful view which i am sure we didn't pay for in the first place. Nice layout and room was very spacious. The room is big and spacious . Bed and pillows are comfortable. The kitchen is a big plus for us since we stayed for 3 nights. It is in a good location, near the bus stop and within walking distance to all good restaurants. The only downside is it’s near the hospital so ambulance sirens can be bothersome. Otherwise, it was a good and pleasant stay.

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience we had at the Century Plaza. The rooms are lovely - spacious and well appointed. Most importantly, the staff is amazing - from the lobby/front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping to Beyond Coffee, we had no needs unmet. The location is perfect with easy access to public transportation, restaurants and shops. Everyone was so helpful and kind! My students absolutely loved the experience and remarked on all these elements and how much they want to return on our next visit to Vancouver. Thank you so much for having us - I know many people fear such a large group but we felt welcomed and appreciated in every aspect of the stay.

Yelp
The Century Plaza hotel is a great value for the area and we were very pleased with our room and service. We were given a free upgrade to a large corner suite with amazing views from four large windows. There was even a small balcony to walk out on. There was a comfortable king sized bed with four large pillows. Huge seating area with a couch, chair, desk and kitchenette type area (microwave, fridge, coffee pot). Everything was clean, carpet looks new, and the vanity in the bathroom looked updated. The shower and tub were fine - nothing special. Service as soon as we got here was great, even at the restaurant although our waiter was extremely busy. See restaurant review for more. This hotel is very convenient to the hustle and bustle, restaurants, and cruise port. Within walking distance to all the food you could need! It is also right next door to a hospital. We heard a lot of ambulances during our stay, but with a sound app on our phone, we slept well at night. There is also construction during the day at nearby buildings. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good value close to all the action.

Yelp
Dried blood all over the sheets. Also there are stains all over the carpet and the elevator is broken.

Yelp
The only highlight of staying at this hotel is that the location is awesome!!! Easily accessible/walkable to many major attractions and restaurants. The front desk staff were very friendly! However, the decor and furniture is old and dingy. The water temperature was inconsistent so when we were showering the water changed from too hot to too cold. The curtains did not close all the way and let in too much light in the morning. The owner of the property should tear down and rebuild it.

Yelp
Laid down after a long day of travel then noticed small bed bugs crawling towards me. It was one and then more came out. Found more on the other double bed near the pillow cases. Immediately called front desk for another room. They provided one on the 14th floor, but that was all they did. No comp breakfast, dinner or even an apology.  It was crazy. They acted as if it was normal. The night manager said they would reach out with something for the inconvenience, but nothing ever came of it. The shower rod was bent downward so the shower curtain was in the shower.  The heater wouldnt turn down and was always at 75f so we had to keep the patio door slightly open. The bathroom sink was clogged and had a slow drain. The bathroom vanity light kept randomly turning off so wed be in the dark.  I told front desk about this but they never fixed the issue. Two of the 4 elevators were broke so we had to wait a long time to either get up to our floor or down to the lobby. There is no gym on site.  The bathroom bar soap is cheap so be sure to bring your own.  The ice machine on 5th floor was broken as well so you had to go down to the lobby to get the ice. We requested to have some brought up but the night shift was short of people.  Overall it was an interesting stay. The staff were friendly and the location was great, but the rooms and hospitality need work. Id stay at the Sandman Suites on Davie next time, which was my first option anyway. I wouldnt stay here again.  To the hotel: booking via 3rd party shouldnt mean you stick us in a room with a cheap mattress and bedbugs. It also doesnt mean theres nothing you can do to make it right for the guest for the inconvenience.

Yelp
Scrolling down and I'm seeing a bunch of less than stellar reviews. Oof. Not to discount their experiences, but I didn't have any of the aforementioned issues with cleanliness at all. Yes, the hotel is on the older side. BUT the room was clean. And as someone mentioned, you are getting a FULL SUITE at a price that's cheaper than the surrounding hotels. Honestly, Century Plaza is a win in my books. Located right in the middle of Downtown Vancouver, I can happily say that my stay was pleasant and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You're a 10-20 min walk away from EVERYTHING. All the restaurants I wanted to try were walking distance. If you're the type to exercise on vacation (I'm not, but you do you), Vancouver Waterfront is a quick morning jog away. The only issue is that you're right next to the hospital and sometimes you walk past people doing drugs, but hey, people are doing drugs in other areas of downtown too! The room wasn't a room, it was a full-on apartment. Actually, it had a better layout than some of the modern condos I see nowadays. You've got a nice sitting area, a perfectly functional kitchen with full sized fridge and stove. TVs in the living area and bedroom. You will not be able to find anything in the area that remotely gets you the same $/sqft value. Service was pretty great. Staff were friendly and we were allowed to check-in early and check-out late. Apparently, I somehow retained my Expedia Gold status through the pandemic even though I didn't go anywhere, so they even gave me a $25 voucher for their in-house restaurant: C-Prime. Got some oysters and a pretty neat smoky old-fashioned. This place isn't perfect but it's pretty dang good! The price, the location, the service. I stayed for a whole week here and would have happily stayed longer.

Yelp
3 of the 4 elevators work but are very small and slow. so you wait A LOT.housekeeping was hit and miss-the night I checked in - no shampoo but a ton of body wash and lotion; came back to no shower curtain one day. Came back to a bag of garbage left behind another day. shower is awful - you freeze or burn so you have to constantly adjust it. the kitchenette provides NO cutlery. everything but. no hot water to wash your dishes. staff are nice but the hotel itself for what they charge is outrageous. and for such a massive hotel they had 2 washers and 2 dryers. my second week in (staying for work) I had to go to a laundromat as one of the washer and dryer sets was out of order. I will never stay here again. don't let the photos fool you.

Yelp
This place is best described as a "3 dressed up as a 9" It tries to pass itself off as a higher end hotel but there is no way. There is absolutely no attention to detail, and has flaws throughout. There are major chips in the paint everywhere. As well as uneven paint and rust stains. The most scary part was the pool - the exposed pipes have tons of rust and black mold. Pretty nasty. Even the bathroom that is shared between the pool and spa what looked nice at first glance also had tears in the seating bench as well as worn and damaged floor boards Ect. I would hate to see the Spa ! Even more bizarre was the paper I had to sign - the Party Policy - highlights include -no noise or unregistered guests in room after 8 pm! -if you cause any disturbance with no warning you will get kicked out, no refund and fined 500$ Never have I had to sign anything like this in all the many hotels I have ever stayed at. Made me wonder what types of undesirables tend to stay here. Some rooms are renovated, and some do have a nice view. That's SOME - the majority are not..... The elevator doesn't require a key which is nice, but they are old and s-l-o-w as hell. They do have vending machines on P2. And an amenity room on the 5th floor that features a computer to use the internet, laundry facilities, ice machine, TV, seating area, coffee station and a photo booth ( currently out of service ! ) Open 24/7 The fitness Center is also 24/7, but the pool is not ( 8am -10 pm ) They also have Absolute Spa and A salon, as well as a comedy club The Comedy Mix. Also a few places to eat. The front desk staff leaves much to be desired. The odd one is ok- but I have encountered ones who are snotty and borderline rude. With all the options in Vancouver, I will definitely not stay here again.

Yelp
Found a deal on Hotwire for this hotel. It was okay, the hotel room was not super comfortable. This hotel seems like an old hotel that was renovated in the last 10 years but they didn't try very hard other than the bathroom. I didn't like the hardwood floors throughout the room. It was nice to have a full kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, stove, utensils and sink. Parking cost CA$19 a day. They offered $10 credit to the restaurants if you turn down house keeping, which we took advantage of. Great location though, it's centrally located and everything was walking distance.

Yelp
We stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa for two nights, which was a nice stay. Nothing fancy or special, but is a fine choice for lodging in downtown Vancouver. I found Century Plaza Hotel and Spa through Expedia, as our default hotel that we stay at was under renovation. With a great price and location we decided to stay here and found that Century Plaza provided what we normally look for in a hotel: parking, downtown location and a more modern hotel room. Though parking was a little confusing at first, it's nice that they do have parking available for those trekking from a road trip. The parking garage is behind the building and for hotel guests you can park anywhere on levels P2 and above. The problem with that though is, access to the hotel without having to walk down the multiple ramps since there's no elevator in the garage, is only on P2. We learned this after finding a spot on P4 and saw there was no elevator to lug down our baggage. You literally have to walk down the ramps that the cars drive on to get down to P2 for hotel access. Not an ideal situation for those who are carrying a lot of luggage. Parking is $17/night and you must be out at noon the day you check out. The room was nice despite the obvious signs that the building is aging. Bathroom had free toiletries, which was a plus. But there were some kinks. It took awhile to get hot water running, so we had to turn on the shower and wait a bit to get hot water. And the sink was starting to rust. The bedroom area of the room was better. King size bed was comfortable with a duvet and fluffy pillows. I especially liked there were multiple lighting options, including a lamp on each side of the bed for reading. The room also came with a mini fridge, coffee maker and coffee, microwave, sofa/seating area and a flat screen TV. The only other gripe was that the hallway smelled really foul. Every time we walked out we could smell something that seemed like it was rotting and at one point someone had left two garbage bags outside their room. Gross! Location is good. It's about a mile walk towards Gastown, Chinatown and Yaletown, as the hotel is located towards the West End in the Entertainment District. For us, it was nice to walk around and find plenty of options for drinks and food, yet the Entertainment District wasn't really our scene. But if you don't mind walking you can find everything you need and more downtown. Overall, Century Plaza was a good, comfortable stay for two nights while in downtown Vancouver. It's not perfect, but the pros outweighed the negatives.

Yelp
Amazing customer service. A mother-daughter getaway and upon arrival, we were given an upgrade to an executive suite with a balcony with amazing views. I can't speak to parking as we got a ride there. The hotel is very clean. The room was quiet (I couldn't hear anyone beside us or above us) - a definite bonus in a hotel. They welcomed us warmly on arrival and made sure all our needs were attended to in an efficient manner. The location is convenient for exploring downtown. There are lots of stores within walking distance. The price of our stay was reasonable. It has a great spa attached to it and that added to how much I enjoyed our stay. I felt safe exploring the area in the early hours of the morning (before the sun rises). The elevator is a bit dated (felt a little bounce when it landed on our floor) but other than that, a great experience.

Yelp
This was a special listed on Priceline, and I'm pretty happy with the deal received, but I wouldn't pay full cost only because of it's location (too noisy/too many people). This big hotel sits between a very busy hospital and very large, beautiful church. It is flanked by other tall residential buildings, surrounded by very busy streets, one street over from the Pride District, 3 blocks down from a movie theater, surrounded by a ton of restaurants and coffee shops, and within walking distance of many retail shops. Sirens are heard around the clock because it's next to a hospital and there are a good number of unhoused individuals that are sometimes not too nice or quiet when you walk by/drive by. Only parking on level 2 of the parking structure is reserved for hotel guests and parking is charged per day. There are not many spaces on level 2 but we were also able to find parking on other levels of the structure. Check in was super fast and easy; the front desk staff were really kind and friendly. Our room was clean and in order, the AC unit worked well, the room came with a bar sink, real coffee maker (not just a Keurig), mini fridge, and microwave. Wifi was available and free. The bathroom is a bit outdated and the showerhead is set a bit low on the wall and is fixed (non-removable), but otherwise everything in the bathroom worked fine. The king bed was comfy and came with 4 pillows, the room had black out curtains, two small desks, coffee table, and small couch. It was a large room with many comforts. If you're looking to stay in the city, love the hustle and bustle and being in crowds on the street, then this is a good pick for the location.

Yelp
I don't understand how can anyone complain about this wonderful hotel. I am so exhausted from having only 2 hrs sleep last night but I just have to set the record straight n get their rating higher. I walked in the room n was so "wowed" it's not a hotel room it's a huge suite like an apartment 700 sf!!! Huge sofa, love seat, 40 inch flat TV, the balcony is huge, I was grateful I had the 26th floor corner suite, 1 side had the ocean view, the other the most phenomenal view of Vancouver. The kitchenette is more like a real kitchen w so many pots and pans, stove, oven n a microwave!! A full size refrigerator, I never cook when I travel but it's good to have a microwave to heat up my coffee or left over. Had I known this hotel was like home I would have stayed 2 more nights. The location is uniquely convenient, walking distance to Granville marketplace, Chinese n Japanese fast food, bakery! KFC.? Next yo St Paul hospital n a drug store. What a treat, in Paris or pretty much anywhere in Europe, the hotel rooms are tiny only 150 sf!!! For $200 a night!! The bathroom is so nice, the lights were bright, im sick n tired of luxurious hotels that are so dimly lit, you can't see anything, folks, hotels are not nightclubs!!! At Century plaza, they even had a heating lamp, it's so warm and cozy. Vancouver is a nice city, soon this will be called VANCOUKONG, after 1/2 of HK will move here! More authentic Chinese food here! I understand some complain that the hotel is historic but it's very clean n with all the amenities mentioned above, to me it's a solid 5 stars n I'll be back!!! I don't mind another Alaskan cruise if it's 60% off n most depart from Vancouver. Oh did I forget they gave us a coupon for $30 off their Italian restaurant.

Yelp
This place is good location for walking downtown.close to Robson street, lots of bars, restaurants, shops, and drug stores. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Offer discounts to Capilano Suspension Bridge, restaurant and spa. I love that you can opt out of room service to help them be green and get $5.00 credit to the lovely cafe. Delish Chia Tea perfect for cold day. The lobby is updated but not the rooms. A little pricey for how outdated the rooms are. It's like walking into your grandmother's apartment. The walls need touch up, plumbing is sub par and water did not completely turn off. With that said it is clean wich is different then rundown. Large rooms with full kitchen. Coffee pot, kettle, stove, oven, fridge, and microwave. Utensils for 2 or 4 people. Bedding is clean but old. Could feel the springs in mattress. Parking is $17 a night but locked garage which is great due to crime and homeless in downtown. Next to hospital so you do hear sirens. With all that said I would stay again since I was out all day and need a clean place to stay. I would recommend just know what you are getting. Clean, friendly, older but hood location hotel.

Diana S.

Yelp
Not a fancy hotel but like the reviews I've read it is clean and comfortable for a short stay. My suite had a small kitchenette area. Coffee maker and a fridge to keep our drinks cold. Hotel has coffee shops and restaurants inside the location. At night the traffic noise could be bothersome for light sleepers. A lot of tour buses, hop on hop off buses stops right in front of the hotel for pick up and drop off. That was very convenient for not having a car. Shopping area about 3 blocks away. IGA grocery store on the same street 2 doors down from the hotel. that was a plus for water purchases since the hotel doesn't provide complimentary water. Overall it was comfortable. Taxi to and from the airport about $35 each way.

Amanda M.

Yelp
This hotel was super insufficient when it came to room service and household goods. We ordered breakfast and they didn't give us enough utensils. We requested some be sent to us with extra bath towels. That never happened. We ended up eating with our hands and had to request towels again. After speaking with a manager, their excuse was "the restaurant is not apart of the hotel and household goods were sent for the amount of people who checked into the room." We paid for 3 people in our room, we should have received 3 sets of everything regardless of the standard amount. Lame!

Stefany V.

Yelp
Great value! Booked our week-long stay through Hotwire for a great price (~$70/night) and couldn't have asked for a better location! We had an awesome view from 2805, complete with a small kitchenette, a living room area, and an extremely comfortable bed. On-site gym has everything you need to get your sweat on, and ask about discount tickets to the comedy club. The downstairs coffee shop was convenient, there's also a steakhouse and spa, as well as an indoor pool and steam room. But the best thing was the location. Century Plaza is across the street from the bust station, down the street from the Robson shopping district, and surrounded by tons of eating and drinking options. Most of the lower-scoring reviews reference the nighttime noise and sirens from the hospital next door, but that sound carries through all of downtown. EXTRA NOTES: You can forego housekeeping services and get a $5 credit to use for on-site dining or spa services! There's an ATM off the lobby if you need it. There are plush robes in the closet, didn't notice these til our last day. You can usually find a cab right outside, super convenient.

Yelp
REVIEWER # 92 Century Hotel is a convenient hotel located in downtown Vancouver. It's located next to Burrard Hotel, A hospital, walking distance from Robson Street (Where all the shopping is) and close to all the restaurants. The front lobby is very elegant and beautiful. The staff are all very helpful. The rooms are just OKAY. There is really nothing to brag about-they were quite average, to say the least. The fitness center that they offer is nice and big; towels are provided. I spent one night in their suite which offered a small kitchen with a stove, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and all the essentials such as: pots, pans, towels. I had a great view from my room that overlooked the City. They offer a TV in the room that has all the premium channels, so there are some decent channels available. What I loved most about this hotel is that many of my tour busses from Vancouver to Victoria could pick me up right in front of this hotel (very convenient). The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and there is also a coffee shop café located right outside the hotel. I would say that for the price that you pay and the location, this place is a good choice. **P. S- This hotel is Pet-friendly!

Yelp
Not sure why there are so many low ratings!!! Check in was seamless ... happy hour at Cprime fabulous. Room was fabulous... is it an older hotel ??? Yes but sheesh rooms are clean and spacious .... Staff gets an 11 stars ... unhappy people sometimes = entitlement!

Tace S.

Yelp
The delightful lobby and helpful staff are the highlights of an otherwise drab hotel. The rooms are spacious but unfortunately they are quite rundown. When we first walked in my elementary age daughter asked "are we really gonna stay here?" after finding stains on the laundered sheets. If you need a very large room then you might be able to look past the age neglect. The location is great and the rates will certainly be more budget friendly than other nearby hotels.

Whatever A.

Yelp
We are currently staying here and I'm considering leaving. There is so much mold in the room. The size of the room is really great, but everything seems dirty and old. The bathroom has gross stains and the floors all look unclean. The kitchen is great-- really convenient and surprisingly well stocked, but some of the dishes looked unclean. The counters looked unclean. The lobby looks nice, but the rest of the hotel is run down and some of it is really dirty. Outdoor staff and cleaning crew are friendly and helpful. Front desk staff are really unfriendly. It is nice that there is a dog park at Nelson Park just a block away and there is a weekly farmer's market there. It was so nice for our dogs. It is also very convenient that there is an IGA store walking distance for food, but there are a lot of homeless people and addicts wandering around. I have really mixed feelings because some parts are nice and really helpful for travelers. It's nice to have a kitchenette, little table, couch, laundry room and dishware, but this room is really musty, uncomfortable. The window barely cracks open only a little, so there's no fresh air and so much mold. Gross.

Yelp
I was debating for about 5 minutes should I give them a 3 or a 4 stars. After 5 minutes I remember how I was treated upon checking in so I decided to give them a 2 Stars. Because of their crappy service. I requested two double beds for my one bedroom suite, I called and confirmed with them about 3 weeks before my arrival. So you can guess how surprises I were when they told me that they didn't have what I requested, Okay, that's find I get it I requested it but that doesn't guarantee that I would get it. Okay whatever, I'm too tired to argue. But then the rude front desk gal that was checking me in flat out called me a liar. Her words were, "When did you call? I didn't see a note on my computer so I don't think you called at all." So what did I do? I pulled up my email confirmation and I showed her my request online that stated I requested two beds in my suite and showed her my phone log when I called them. Her reply? "Well Miss it's called a request that doesn't guarantee you'll get two beds." Um...Really? I was over the whole bed thing, but her attitude was what annoyed me. Calling a customer a liar? Then when I proved to her I wasn't lying instead of apologizing she goes on and try to be smart about it? WTF? First of all I'm sure you're tired because I see a lot of people checking in and demanding things. But I was polite, I said my please and thank you's, I smiled and I even ask her how her day was when I first walked in. So if you have a bad day don't take it out on me, take it out on someone else. You know what top her reply and rudeness? It's when she called her manager on me! The butch told the manager I requested two bed and there's none so can she downgrade me to a studio room with two beds which the manager agreed. I'm standing there like, 'WTF? I said okay to the one bedroom suite with a king bed. Why am I been down graded?" I flat out told them there is no way I'm getting downgraded if they can't refund me the difference. They're reply? "We don't refund the differences after you book." Okay whatever I want my suite that's all. Then they had the nerve to look annoy that I didn't agree to the studio room. I'm not stupid, I see tons of people checking in trying to get last min booking. I got my one bedroom suite about $87 a night and I'm over here hearing you're trying to charge the guest $150 a night. Ya'll some shady ass people, trying to downgrade me without talking to me? I'm nice, but I can be a b!tch. I just don't believe in being mean and b!tchy for no reason. After the horrible check in I finally got my card keys and headed to our room. The room was fine, it was clean, nothing was breaking so I'm not going to complain about the room because for $87 a night for a one bedroom suite which was very roomy it was worth it. Also it was in a very good location everything was a walking distance in downtown. I'm guessing because they know they're in a hot location area they can be jerks to their customers because if you're like me who plans and book things ahead of time the rooms can be really cheap and affordable. Was it worth being talked down like that tho? No, freakin way! But it's okay I called and complain to expedia so they credit me $50 back :) I found that they have a strict policy. If your neighbors complain about the noise and partying, you will be kicked out with no refund and you have to pay for your neighbors room. Okay, that's a bit much. But whatever, they had a comedy show room, a spa, gym, meeting room, kitchen and bar down stairs. Parking is about $18 a night plus tax. They can easily get 4 stars if they weren't rude. Because beside the horrible customer service the rooms were decent. The company really need to train their staff because those people are the faces of their companies. I'm just saying, you're being paid to check people in so customer service is very important. Calling customers a liar, then make plans to downgrade without talking to them is a big no-no. I would NOT recommend anyone to stay here. It's kind of sad, the hotel is nice too bad they got employees working in the front with no people skills.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was affordable and fairly cleaned for the price I paid. It felt homey. The staffs were friendly. My husband and I got there 6 hours prior to our check in time and they were accommodating. We got our rooms right away. They also presented us 3 $25 vouchers to use at their restaurant or spa (I have a different review for this restaurant by the way). The view from our room wasn't too bad. It wasn't the best, but I'm glad we didn't have an obstructed view. I liked that they had a 24 hour gym and that we were able to leave our luggage at the front after check out so that we could go out some more.

Yelp
I stayed for 4 nights in April. This place met my expectations. I was happy with all of the important things, which for me were mostly about comfort in sleeping, cleanliness and the feel of the room. I booked a suite partly because I wanted a separate bedroom, and the price was not much more than a regular room. The bed was extremely comfortable, and on the firm side, which I like. The pillows were nice and I believe I may have asked for one additional pillow that was flatter than the ones they had on the beds. The living room was adequate and had great views (I was on a high floor, I think 16). The furnishings do leave a bit to be desired - they are on the plain side and not all that attractive, however, this was definitely not a deal breaker for me. It was comfortable enough to hang out in and have breakfast in. The kitchen was furnished with basic equipment, although I didn't really use it much. The staff was kind and helpful. I didn't check the workout facilities so can't comment on that. The location is good for walking to things around Vancouver. Definitely will stay here again! This was my second hotel stay in Vancouver. The first time I stayed at the Listel Hotel, and I far prefer this one.

Yelp
An oldie but goodie. Looking at exterior pictures doesn't quite do it justice; much of the inside is up to modern standards while other areas seem to persist through time. To me, it feels like the lobby was the focal point of [the] renovations. It's sleek and pleasantly modern with clean lines while showing hints of some retro roots to its past. The fitness room is one of the best around: spacious, plenty of workout options from free weights & mats, to machines and bars. My only main issue there was the water dispenser. If using 2 dispensers, one should be cold and one room temp/warm. The evac plan says this was originally a meeting room so converting to fitness was a good decision. The elevators were decent. Some floor tiles were cracked but they appeared to function ok and had nice mirror walls. No key access req'd FYI but I'm indifferent. My room was pretty cool. All rooms appeared to include small kitchen spaces so that's awesome and versatile for many reasons (cooking local/regional foods, saving on dining out and focusing on activities, heating up leftovers, etc). I didn't like the log-shaped pillows; I prefer the traditional shape but sleeping was still fine. The flat screen TV in the corner can swing to face the bed and kitchen. Shower was nice and all water temps came up fairly quick. The afternoon sun coming into the windows in my western facing studio room provides a nice warmth in the cold & clear winter days. The renovations in here are spotty; perhaps they just focused on focal points and left anything not needing immediate replacement in place. For example, the bathroom tile work and shower are nice but looks like sealant/caulking is missing in a tiny corner in the bottom. The toilet can be more efficient; the flush cycle creates a big whirlpool before going down. Sound proofing the room door (and better jam seals) would be a great idea for many customers. Garage guest parking is pretty good. Overall, very decent facility. The staff were quite friendly throughout my stay; everyone from the midnight late check in, to the phone calls, and check out.

Yelp
Convinient hotel in downtown. Big room, king size bed. Old but clean. Not fancy, but fair enough. The fan of bathroom was old and noisy and the room was a little bit cold, not chilly.

Yelp
Not a bad hotel at all. I was pretty skeptical with the average yelp reviews but was pleasantly surprised that our stay here was pretty comfortable. It is located at the heart of downtown so you can get to a lot of the tourist destinations pretty conveniently. Parking is pretty expensive so make sure you opt for their $20 a day parking. We got a hotel package through travelzoo, which made our stay even more affordable. The lounge is designed in a pretty modern/trendy style. The receptionist was pretty nice. She was fast and efficient in processing our transaction. We got a room on the 28th floor. I was pretty happy with our room because it had a view of the skyscrapers. They opened the window a bit so you get gusts of fresh air. The room was pretty clean and I didn't see any major dirt/defects. The only issues I had were that the tv was a bit small and the bathroom toilet faced the door without much room in between. It is just a cramped space inside. Another issue I had was that there was a constant tapping above my bed. I got over the incessant noise but it still was slightly annoying. I think the tapping came from the air conditioning wind blowing onto something but I couldn't figure it out. They have all the premium tv channels so you'll be able to watch some good television shows. We enjoyed watching the food network. Their coffee is decent too.

Yelp
MAN THIS HOTEL IS GREAT! We were Early so our room wasnt ready yet, no problem. They take care of your luggage untill you come back to pick it up. Parking is 17$ a day but in the garage behind the hotel. Just drive up there and tell the guy you have to check in, he'll give you a temperary spot. After you check in they'll tell you where to park. The room was huge! 22nd floor, kitchen included. Yes you can hear street noises because of the single glass windows but it wasnt that bad. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Location of this hotel was excellent. Rooms were average. One of the outlets did not work so lighting was dim. In the master bedroom only one lamp. And the corner of the tv room there were 3 lights but 1 outlet and no other outlet nearby to plug in. Strange. They have 4 elevators only 2 were working on one day then 3 were working. The elevators were small so we cramped in like sardines at times since we were in the 25th floor. The place was clean.

Yelp
I reviewed this place years ago and it was somehow removed. This is a very average spa in every way and I would not recommend. I can't believe my lengthy review was not just removed but it disappeared. Strange. If I can save a tourist from thinking this is an elite spa, I am happy to do so. Then again, you get what you pay for which is why I am giving it a 3.

Yelp
Good thing they are open 24/7 since our train arrived after public transit shut down. Arrived by taxi around 1am. Quick to check in. Our room was on the 11th floor. Average room but spacious. Nothing too special about it. Views were good! See photos I posted. Views into downtown and buildings. Free wifi though the log in for the room (i.e. The password) was a bit complicated. Also free wifi in the lobby (bonus). Check in and check out no one could tell us the exchange (final cost) from the Canadian dollar to US dollar.

Yelp
We lucked into this hotel with a Groupon for our stay in Vancouver. For the deal I found, we would have been pretty easy to please, but Century Plaza was actually a great hotel. Yes, there's some ambulance noise from being near the hospital. But I figure when you're in a major city's downtown, you don't get to complain about noise. Kind of how you don't get to complain about crowds in New York, traffic in LA, or rain anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. Our room on the 30th floor was amazing, with fantastic views of the mountains, the city, and even the water (we didn't technically have a water-view room). The room itself was huge and luxurious. The bed was comfortable, and the extra couch and large desk were helpful. The mini fridge would have been useful for a longer stay. And the bathroom is one of the best hotel bathrooms of my life-- well-appointed absolutely huge bathtub so you didn't have to decide which part of yourself to soak, if you know what I mean. The pool/tub took a while to fill, but it was worth the wait. The location makes it walkable to a lot of downtown, even though it's a pretty long walk to Stanley Park. Free WiFi was definitely a perk, and saved us from having to pay AT&T for international cell phone service. Service was friendly-- we actually got our room several hours early, which was fantastic for a nap since the cruise ship dropped us off at 7 AM. They were great with giving us maps and directions, even if we were unsuccessful in our quest to find JapaDog (where do you hide this world-famous cart?). I never get to spend as much time in Vancouver as I'd like, but I'd be very happy to end up staying here next visit!

Yelp
The Century Plaza Hotel is located in Downtown Vancouver and is an extremely convenient place to stay since you can literally walk to where most of the shopping is on Robson. The hotel itself is pretty nice, but let me just say that the lobby is a heck of a lot nicer than the room. I mean, the rooms are decent, but the lobby makes the hotel look a little more luxury than the rooms do. The room was very spacious; we had a kitchenette, a sofa and coffee table, and two beds (even though we didn't need two), and of course a bathroom. The parking costs an arm and a leg, but I wasn't sure if I could park on any of the surrounding streets. They even had a comedy club in the basement of the hotel while we were staying there. This hotel isn't anything fancy, but for a decent and convenient downtown location, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Walking in and around town was great since everything is close-by. Breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby wasn't half-bad either.

Yelp
Booked a room we didn't realize had a wet spot right beside bed that ruined a pair of socks and smelled like bleach. Called the front desk and they moved us immediately. I'll give them 3 stars for effort but was kinda gross.

Sarah W.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend to pass on this place. They were nice enough to let us check in early but the room was kind of gross. The sink was leaking brown liquid on the floor that had dried and wasn't cleaned up and urine had dripped down the front of the toilet. The outlet was also close to falling out of the wall. The elevators were very slow and rickety and part of the handrail was coming off. We used the gym which had very clean equipment but old. There was a water cooler there but no water available. The cafe sold stale baked goods. My nanaimo squared was weirdly served to me "glued" (hopefully with a sugar syrup?) on a piece of gold cardboard. The flat white was tasty though. Other positives were the service was nice and they've clearly spent their money updating the lobby which was nice. Anyway I'm sure there are better hotels in the area.

Yelp
I'm torn about my rating because the room was huge and the view was great, but a few things bothered me about this place. First let me talk about the good things. I've seen a lot of reviews saying the rooms are super outdated. Maybe I got lucky, but my room wasn't like that at all. I was in a King executive suite on the 29th floor. The room was huge and had a full kitchen, a jetted soaker tub, and a balcony. The bathroom had updated tile, a new toilet, and I was completely surprised to see that tub. But here comes the bad stuff.... The jets didn't work. I was pretty bummed about that. After a full day of walking, I was looking forward to taking advantage of that tub. The shower itself was pretty bad. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold even though the temperature was perfect when it came out of the faucet before pulling the shower lever. Just like other reviews, the WiFi was very spotty for me. It would randomly stop working. I could see this being an issue for someone coming here on business. The last problem was the bed. It was too firm. I had a really hard time sleeping. This hotel is in a great location. I heard two sirens the whole night, so don't let the hospital being close by sway your decision to stay. The tub thing was a let down, but I didn't even know it was going to be there to begin with...and I seriously doubt every shower is like the one in my room. If you don't mind a hard bed or need to rely on WiFi, you should consider this place.

Yelp
This hotel really needs some upgrades. We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend, and our room was so hot. We had maintenance up twice, and neither time were they able to solve the problem. We had the air conditioning on the whole time, but that just fought with the temperature control to keep room @ 74. The fan in the bathroom didn't work either. Got the worst sleep in weeks.

Yelp
This was the first place I've ever stayed in Vancouver BC, and I've stayed several times since. I found it via its ad in the AAA book. They seemed to have good prices and a great location. Prices fluctuate with the season and can be fair, or a little pricey in high season, at which point one can shop around or choose a further out location. The lobby is a little dated and compact, but so what? Wait until you get up to the rooms. They are actually mini-suites, with a seating area and a kitchenette. For travelers who will never cook while in Vancouver's West End, the kitchenette is superfluous, but for some people it may be useful. There are some great views, particularly if you get a corner room. There's a spa, per the name? Either it's tucked away and/or requires an optional fee. I wouldn't know. I never saw it, nor signage to a swimming pool. With its location on Burrard, between Davie and Robson, you can walk just about everywhere in the peninsular center of downtown Vancouver, assuming you bring an umbrella. Most of the attractions are within 10 blocks. It will be further than that if you are interesting in seeing the perimeter of Stanley Park. One can walk to the park entrance and then take the horse-drawn trolley. Or, there is a parkade at the hotel, as they call it, and one can drive to spots in the center of Vancouver, though you'll find it's easier to walk to most of them because you'll be scrambling for scarce metered parking every place you'll go after leaving the hotel's parkade. It gets 4 stars because it's not a 5 star property and it's a little dated; however, in terms of earning its stripes for value, 4 stars are indisputable.

Yelp
First time to canada. Was open arms to A new country. Got to our hotel and the concierge is checking us in. As 3 of his friends come up behind us to also check in, he begins to say the words, "my nig*a, my nig*a, what's up my ni*ga like 30 times before he let's the other cincierge know he will be checking those fellas in. We are trying to ask about parking, but he was more into his friends...but answered our questions then. The next day we go down to my car and it has been broken into by someone with A screwdriver.. We then go to ths same concierge and tell him my car had been broken into and that he didn't get much because everything was in my room except my car registration. He THEN asks what our room number is. No sorry, no nothing just what our room number was. I then got really freaked out and uncomfotable and decided to go get our stuff and check out. Then the SAME concierge asks us for 40 bucks parking. If you intend to stay there, beware you will have to pay for parking and also have to pay for someone to break into your car...in which you need A key to get to the parking garage or they could swoop under the gate after 10, but im sure someone would have said something. We had A good view, but my sheets smelt like body odor Will never be staying in this place again to pay to feel that voulnerable. 2 stars because the view was good.

Yelp
Beware. I booked through Expedia and upon arrival this evening, realized I had misplaced/lost my credit card. I came directly from Washington State to sit for an exam which my current job is binding on. It's a 6 hour exam. Anyways, I can't locate my credit card, I believe I left it on my desk at work. I came directly from my office to Century Plaza Hotel via Greyhound. They will not allow me to have the room I booked. My credit card also would have been used to pay food and transportation during my quick one night stay. It's currently -2 degrees and I have no where to sleep. They were fairly curt and unapologetic. I would absolutely not book and PRE-PAY for hotel room at a hotel that isn't willing to work with a guest in an terrible situation.

Yelp
Great hotel if I knew the pool was closed I'd would have went else where employees are very friendly food is good

Yelp
My son and I arrived quite late as we were in emergency with my wife most of the night. Our first impression, a very large security guard. He looks at us like we don't belong and what are you doing here. We checked in and can't help notice how cold the front desk staff react to us. We check in and I give my credit card for incidentals as is the normal practice and book parking for the duration of our stay. The next day I find a parking ticket on my windshield. Of course I'm pissed, and bring the ticket to the front desk. They said we'll take care of it, no apology. Most, not all of the front desk staff are like the ones from the hotel in Home Alone 2, uppity and stuffy. We get to our suite and it smells kind of weird like that powdered stuff they pour before you vacuum. The room is antiquated. The full size fridge and stove was a positive. The other positive, the housekeeping staff is friendly, helpful and hardworking. The other issue is my family is allergic to many things including animal dander. We are in a pet friendly suite, however, I accept this one as we should of asked. The following weekend, we are leaving to go out get something to eat and there's 4 hood looking types hanging out in the parking lot like they're waiting for something. As we exit the parking lot, a car full what I can only describe as escourts or highclass hookers come flying in and the guys open the gate for them. My thoughts resort to "where's that big security guard? Another nasty surprise, we were charged 65 cents for every phone call and we made a lot, not realizing this. This is the first place to ever do this. There was one bright spot at the front desk. A guy named Doug, he was courteous and professional. Fortunately, we spent most of our time at the hospital and away from this place. We spent 2 weeks there and knew the parking bill was going to be steep. I mean $18.00 a day, we did not expect an additional $2.75 a day for transit plus tax. The total was $453.00. yikes. Never again. The guy at the front desk asked so smirkishly if it was okay to add this to my original credit card. I'll never stay there, never mind park there ever again.

Yelp
I'm usually very impressed with the service. So I thought I'd bring a friend. It was his first time (He wanted the ladies to be gentle). I thought we would do a couple's package so I would get to see how he would react! Problem was some of the services that are advertised were not available on account they were too busy or don't offer them (maybe update the website so I can make other arrangements). Most horrific thing is my friend felt worse after his massage because the therapist did not listen to him (he has a sensitive back from accident). He politely requested a gentle approach but the therapist was rushed and I don't think she wanted to slow down and listen.Very rudely suggested a chiropractor...honestly I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't there. Messing around with someones back even after he told you is very wrong. I felt like the therapist we had were not properly trained in massage and probably shouldn't be just slapping oil everywhere. We were both sore the next day(not in a good way). So my grading system goes as follows...massage 5/10...facial &7/10(good technique but not as promised over the phone). The therapist gave me the facial she wanted...not the one I requested (too time consuming I gather). Point being I usually love going here (that's why I was so excited to share the experience)...Dunno what happened...But if u can't do the service properly then recommend some other treatment (not last minute BTW) or simply state that you are too busy to provide a quality service. Spa is supposed to be about relaxation, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Yelp
I want to give this place 5 stars but I went with three because I'm torn. I read the reviews of this hotel being outdated and I can see where people are coming from but It's not as bad. I thought the room was great! Very spacious, great location and had a balcony! This is where I had to lower the stars... I really want to give it one star because the whole night my son was miserable with allergies!! As soon as we got to our room he got swollen eyes, itchy throat and nose he couldn't stop blowing. He only gets these exact symptoms when he's around a cat. Nope there was no cat! But to find out that this hotel allows pets aka there was a cat in the room we stayed. He was super miserable the whole stay. This hotel should really separate the rooms from pet friendly and not pet friendly (like how some hotels have smoking and non smoking rooms). This hotel was for sure going to be the hotel I booked every time I was in Vancouver until I found out about the pets being in the room. Don't get me wrong, I love animals but it sucks when your baby is allergic to animal hair :(

Yelp
Our stay at the Century Plaza met all of my expectations. I think I got a big, nice room at a good value. It was as close to the middle of downtown as you could ask for, about a $7 cab ride to wherever you wanted to go. I think I was upgraded because I paid for a regular hotel room and had a suite with 2 full beds in it. I'm used to sleeping in a king bed with my wife and I thought they were queen beds until we actually climbed in and it was a bit snug. We stayed on the 24th floor and views were awesome(pics attached). We also are at the lobby restaurant(mostly because they gave us a coupon at check in for $20 off an entree. It's an upscale restaurant and the food was awesome. We sat by the bar because they had the hockey game on which was a bonus. If I had more time Id check out the comedy club they have downstairs. We enjoyed breakfast at the cafe in the lobby area, as well as some gelato in the evening. I was happy with the food, service and convenience. Any minor things other people knock this place are so minor it makes them sound like primadonas. Hey, it's not the Ritz, but it's just what you'd expect. Great value, I'd stay there again.

Erica S.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst hotel services I've ever had in my life. The security man was the worst as well, everyone was so rude and not understanding. Never staying here again!

Kristin B.

Yelp
I booked a junior suite on Expedia for a discount price and this was my first stay in Vancouver and at this hotel. They let us check in early (1pm), were very nice and the room was enormous. Had a kitchenette and a sofa and two double beds AND enough room in between to do your own cirque du soleil show (not that we did). Totally comfortable for 3 people. Perfect location- BigBus pickup right outside, Capilano shuttle right across the street, great coffee shop on the bottom floor. FREE WIFI. Minus one star for the elevators- they were just packed constantly but it was a busy weekend and this is probably not the hotel's fault

Alexandria S.

Yelp
I stayed here for the first time one night only on Sunday! Service was ok.. Room was nice but bathroom could use some fixing, such as the floor cracking, noisy light. Nice city view. We checked out next day, elevator took 10min to come, I told front desk and he replied its busy! Umm no, because no one is around.. We leave our bags with bell hop so we can shop downtown, one guy bell hop took 15minutes, Eekkk.. Wow! Overall, ok hotel! I probably won't be staying here again!

Yelp
I'm going to "round up" to 4 stars. Reality is I'm giving a fair 3.5 stars. Good (4 stars): The lobby, and restaurant are updated, and decorated with clean lines, and contemporary vibe. The staff at the front desk, the restaurant server(s), were all friendly and polite. The one bedroom suites are HUGE, and on the corners of the building and have a walk-out balcony. LOVE that all suites have kitchenettes. The price is really reasonable (probably because the hotel is so dated - see below). The food/breakfast in the restaurant is actually pretty good, large portions, and you feel like you've gotten your money's worth. The pool and steamroom are a nice to have. Neutral/Bad (3 stars): The beds are HARD. Not just firm, but like, brick-hard. I think sleeping on the floor might be more comfortable. My husband actually pulled the mattress off the sofa-bed in the living room and slept on the floor - THAT was actually softer. The decor of the rooms is really dated (circa 90's). The windows are extremely flimsy, and the outside traffic/noise is easily heard (and will wake you up) - even on the 16th floor. Yes, of COURSE you're downtown, but the windows should really be updated to at least drown out the seagulls. Yes, there's 30 floors, so perhaps a higher floor might do you well - but I'd say you'd expect on the 16th floor to be above most of it. I think it's just the old quality of the windows that doesn't really limit much outside noise. Carpets are really just OLD, in the walkways as well as in the rooms. I think the microwave in the kitchenette was probably from 1980? Everything was very dated, lots of chips in the sink/tub/floors, etc. Time for a renovation.

Yelp
After reading a lot of the reviews from out of town yelpers, most complain about their car getting broken into. Hmmmm... I think it's because this place is one building up from the notorious St. Paul's Hospital, where all of the city's recovering druggies and bums that get beaten up (city's dirty secrets, etc.) are sent. The hotel cannot help that those guys sneak in the parkade after they get out while you leave. I haven't used this parkade, but I've heard similar stories too. If you are renting or driving up, maybe another hotel would be safer. But if you are looking for a realistic price in the downtown core area (without a car perhaps?) this is the place. Yes, the front doors are safe. Although, if you are here for the spa experience it's not so bad. Absolute Spa is a chain and can also be found at the Fairmont hotel just a couple of blocks from here. If you are planning to save money it's better to visit the spa at the century plaza because the prices here are a bit cheaper than other Absolute spas. The ambiance is dark and drab, and the pool which is connected to the hotel can be found underground with ceilings of metallic decor (which is btw rusting). Aside from that, the equipment is new and the people that work here are very friendly and they use great top-of-the-line products both international and local. I have been here a couple of times and every time was a great experience at the Absolute Spa. I leave with a smile on my face.
