We had a fantastic meal! Oysters were amazing! Tasted like a bite of sushi but in a dressed raw oyster, ceviche was refreshing with an excellent balance and delicious fish pieces, eggplant dish was unique and excellent, the ribs were divine, cheese cake hit the spot, and cocktails well crafted. Staff were so friendly and guided me on my decisions for my meal as I asked of them. I highly recommend this great find!

Google
Fantastic meal! The ceviche was the star of the meal and the cocktails were on point. The steak was delicious but slightly over done (medium vs the medium rare I ordered). The atmosphere is very lovely and classic, but I was seated in a corner next to the kitchen. The staff were lovely and helpful and friendly. Jacob was extra wonderful, stopping by to make sure I was taken care of multiple times and very kind.

Google
a great restaurant to be found in a small street. very friendly staff, nice ambiance and most important very very good food. the chefs cook the food with love and high quality ingredients. this evening had the best ibrian ham, ibrian ribs, octopus and cheesecake ever. we both had a 3 course meal which we very much loved.

Google
We were meant to have dinner somewhere but we ended up here due to high rating/s. Props for having last minute booking so we really appreciate that. Getting here was a bit tricky though, we went for 10pm dining and felt a bit uneasy/more guarded walking through the street. Anyway, both the oysters and the blackberry mojito were our fave that night. The black rice dish was flavourful and so was the Iberian ribs but I find it a tad dry.

Google
We found this place through Google Maps and it’s high reviews and it didn’t disappoint! One of the best meals we’ve had during our stay in Barcelona. Excellent ingredients and interesting combinations. We can totally recommend the Iberian ham, lamb, cod and cookie for dessert. Great service too and cool atmosphere.

Google
A very good tapas place, a little expensive but the presentation and tastes are there. Make sure you book in advance, otherwise you won't be able to sit down. One of the dishes arrived lukewarm but they took it back without a problem. I recommend this address despite the fact that it's a bit isolated and in a neighbourhood that's a bit unfrequented.

Google
Melody was great! We came in close to kitchen closing and she still made sure we got all the food we wanted and even dessert. All of the people there are great. And the food was unique but still delicious. Definitely worth the visit while in Barcelona!!

Google
This restaurant was recommended by a friend of ours who lived in Barcelona for 10 years. The food was incredible and the service was amazing. Our server Leo was so kind and gave us great recommendations. We got the ceviche, Iberian pork carpaccio, Iberian ribs and the sponge cake (can’t remember the name). Everything was amazing!

Yelp
Incredible dining experience. Tucked away on a Barcelona back street, away from the hustle and bustle, this place is a true hidden gem. Fantastic service and food. Everything they make is unique and is of the highest quality. The ambiance is fantastic, full of eclectic art and design. The decor really stands out and is hard to not appreciate. The lighting is low enough for romance but not so low that you can't read the menu. I highly recommend the sea bass, it might have been some of the best fish I've ever had, and I eat a lot of seafood. The sauces are full of flavor and really complement the dishes. However, my favorite dish of the night was the tomato tartare. I did not expect so much flavor and sophistication from what I expected to be more like a tomato salad. Pro tip: sit upstairs for a more private experience on the indoor balcony.

Yelp
It's been nearly 10 years since we found this little gem. We visit about every two years, always a memorable meal. This trip we brought 12 and initially the restaurant was closed for our intended dinner. After contacting them, they actually opened the restaurant for business that night. It was wonderful and we had a private room above the bar. The Blackberry Mojito, the Cerviche, Lamb Shank and Beef Takaki are incredible. Everything on the menu is spectacular.

Yelp
Loved it. I would've liked it a little cooler but then again I grew up as a downhill skier so maybe I'm more sensitive than most. I got the feeling the place was sort of hidden, but apparently not as a lot of people seem to have been there. I asked the waiter tell me what percentage of people are local and how many are tourist. I was surprised, he told me the 90% are tourist. Don't think for a moment that that means it's not good food. What it means is that a lot of tourist are checking around in this area not all that different than tourist that hang around Broadway in New York. I tell you that because it is a great restaurant. Now, if you're over 50, you may be having a little problem when you get to a restaurant and they don't have a menu and you need to have an Internet to connect. It takes a bit if you're not used to it but then again it's been around for at least five years now . On the upside the restaurant has free Wi-Fi. I just have to tell you every single thing I tried and we tried a lot was great. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was so hungry. I ate it too quickly. We started with Buratta cheese which went perfectly with two different types of breads we ordered. We ordered tomato toasted bread as well as just beautiful Italian style crusty on the outside soft on the inside. We could've eaten that alone for dinner. We also ordered and I don't remember the exact word, but it was basically steak tartare. It was sliced and again was great. If you didn't know it was Tartar. You probably would not have known, but you probably would've liked it. we ordered bass, again. It was outstanding and generous, but unfortunately, we are pigs and we wanted more, so we then ordered some outstanding ribs. finally, my wife ordered a dessert that she could not complete, but she thought it was outstanding with all the water wine and liquor we bought did not seem expensive for $125

Yelp
This was my most memorable dining experience during my trip to Spain. It is located in a narrow alleyway in the el Raval district, and if I'm being completely honest, felt a little unpleasant walking around in its immediate area. But, the interior of the restaurant has a beautiful rustic charm. The exposed rock walls give a really cool sense of dining in an underground cave. We ordered the scallops, ceviche, Iberico pork ribs, and black rice volcano rice. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. I only wish I had more stomach space to order more from the menu. I also highly recommend their blackberry mojito, which not only was yummy, but is a piece of art in itself.

Yelp
We had our best dining experience while visiting Barcelona at Cera 23. The food was divine and the atmosphere was sophisticated yet laid back. We had the carpaccio, mushroom rice, octopus, Argentinian steak, and death by chocolate dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. Chicho is an incredible server. The entire staff was very attentive and kind. We will be back the next time we visit Barcelona!
google avatar

Reggie C.

Yelp
Food is amazing. We had the carpaccio and burratina for starters then corvina, cube roll and costillar. My sea bass (corvina) was cooked perfectly. The tarta de queso was a perfect ending to our meal. Our sangria was a great pairing. Service was impeccable from reception. Thank you Melody and Arthur for taking care of us.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Barcelona Pros - every dish is absolutely fantastic. Definitely the best tapas place in the whole city. The iberico ribs, volcano rice, and osso bucco were hands down amazing. They also have a blackberry mojito that was incredible. The cerviche was one of the freshest I have ever had. Cons - none! Make the best effort to stop by this place if you can. Be adventurous with your ordering. You cant go wrong here!
google avatar

Yelp
Have been two Cera 23 twice now and can confirm it is One of the best meals in the world. The chefs at Cera23 perfected the menu. Everything is incredible and fresh , the tomato tartare was like nothing else I've ever had and the octopus was top tier and crispy. A must stop in Barcelona! You will not be disappointed with anything you order

Yelp
OMG! This place was AMAZING! It was my last night in Barcelona so the group made me pick our dinner destination...the pressure! The reviews and photos don't even do justice, but I'll try. The blackberry Mojito was beautiful and delish. Steak Tataki was perfection. The Iberian Ribs were some of the best I've ever had. Desert was fantastic too... I had this French toast like thing with the crust that was torched like crème brûlée. Service was 5 stars!
google avatar

Jasmin M.

Yelp
This was my ratatouille moment. I don't think I've ever had quality food until coming here. From start to finish every dish did not disappoint! The ceviche as a starter was incredible. I chose the Premium Argentine Beef Cube Roll and I don't think I can ever eat meat again. Nothing will ever compare. It was perfectly cooked and melted right in my mouth. It was complimented with the perfect sauce and veggies. For dessert we got the cheesecake and every bite was a pleasant experience. Words cannot express this experience. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. I feel so lucky to have found this gem. The service was also so wonderful! Everyone is so kind and the ambiance is quite romantic.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The drinks, the food, the service...all 5 star +++!! When in Barcelona, DO NOT MISS THIS! Order the Blackberry Mojito, have a First Course menu item, and an entree and don't skip dessert!!

Khanh B.

Yelp
FULL package: Service, Food, Ambience. It you are first time visitor, you must visit this restaurant. Never judge the book by its cover. The location/neighborhood looks little sketchy so that's why's this is the hidden gem.

Yelp
Fantastic spot with an upscale, but friendly and affordable vibe. We had the Beef Sirloin Tataki as a starter which was mouthwateringly good and possibly the highlight. The Iberian Ribs and Sea bass in Papillote were also excellent seconds. Finished off with the aptly named "Death by Chocolate" Cake w/ Caramel Ice Cream. Overall, an excellent experience for a special night out in Barcelona!
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant but getting to it is a bit sketchy, so I would recommend an early reservation if you feel uncomfortable walking here when it is dark. The food was spot on (scallops and black rice), the service was quick (which isn't typical here), and a hidden gem in Barcelona I would absolutely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Great flavors and fresh ingredients headline the menu at Cera 23. The menu is decisively Spanish but certainly not average. Every dish feels like it was thoughtfully engineered and prepared with great attention to detail. Our taxi driver warned us to be cautious around the area because the risk of pickpockets is very high.
google avatar

Huan C.

Yelp
Food is 5 stars. Neighbourhood is a bit of an adventure/sketch as some folks may say/some folks are falling on hard time. A lot of refugees in the area. Food was quite divine/innovative. This is quite the gem of a restaurant. The chef/restaurant took bold creative decision that in their dish. Highlights were the scallops and the black rice.

Yelp
This is a little hidden gem. The food and services were amazing! One of the better restaurants in Barcelona. The price was very reasonable and worth the trip for very tasty and delicious experience.

Yelp
Group of 9 requested a reservation via the website on Sunday around 7:30 PM. It was confirmed within 15 minutes that we were good to go for a 9 o'clock reservation. We were seated in a lovely private room upstairs and Marcel was our server who was so kind and patient with our limited Spanish. The food was absolutely amazing. The blackberry Mojitos were a star the show. Other highlights were the Burrata cheese small plate and the Iberian Pork Carpaccio. Everything was delicious (we tried 5 large plates as well). And the desserts did not disappoint! We got the death by chocolate, cheesecake, and the Neighbor's Torrija. At the end of the meal, Marcel brought each of us a tiny little glass of a coffee liquor on the house. Thanks Marcel!

Yelp
Very charming spot, the food was mostly excellent, but I would not recommend the black rice dish, the bonito flake topping was way too heavy imho. The French toast brûlée dessert was excellent, the burrata was delicious, service was great.

Andy C.

Yelp
we actually went to both of their restaurants this trip, arume being the other one. a few dishes stood out, pork carpaccio and scallops. But the mains were mediocre, pork ribs and foie gras ravioli. I don't understand the hype around the ribs, it's good, tender ribs, but flavorwise nothing particularly memorable. this place suffers from the tripadvisor / yelp effect which means it's all tourists, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but means you will pay a bit more for the quality.

Barry B.

Yelp
Very good restaurant that opens early so Americans can eat at normal hours. Open late for Europeans. Everything we ate was excellent with reasonable prices. All staff had excellent English so everything was easy. Fills up fast so make reservations early.

Yelp
DO NOT SKIP THIS RESTAURANT BECAUSE OF THE "SKETCHY" NEIGHBORHOOD. ITS WORTH IT This restaurant has served the best food I've eaten on vacation so far. The dishes they serve are unique and delicious. A very good fusion place. The portions are pretty good and definitely worth the price because of the outstanding tastes. Some of the highlights from the menu are the grilled calamari, beef tataki, and the Iberian pork ribs. They're flavors are perfect and balance the sweet salty and sour uniqueness to each dish. The service here is also very fast and attentive! Unlike other restaurants i did not have to call them over to clear a dish or receive new silverware. Overall a perfect restaurant

Roberto R.

Yelp
The whole experience was amazing!! Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A hidden gem!

Yelp
Looked this place up on google on a whim, and the reviews seemed good so we tried it out. The staff was so friendly, had great recommendations and were very accommodating. Tried the Caffeine Soul cocktail and was blown away that an aperol spritz + cold brew actually worked and was good. We also tried the pesto burrata which was good too. Great place for a s group to sit down and feel immersed in the Barcelona culture.

Yelp
Zip up your purse real nice and get over here! We were in the mood for seafood/fish and we were not disappointed. Each dish was beautifully prepared, with a special twist, yet well balanced. The octopus was my favorite but everything was absolutely delicious. The Galician cocktail and the Albariño were a great pairing. You'll find friendly, attentive staff taking care of you as soon as you step in. I would recommend this place for date night but also a small group (4) of foodies. Reserve ahead of coming here if you can... it's gonna be busy.

Yelp
I made a reservation here for my partner and I because I saw the name on a list of must-try restaurants in the neighborhood we were staying in. We had just gotten to the restaurant right after they opened for the evening so it wasn't too crowded. The other reviews mention the neighborhood being sketchy but it didn't feel like that at all - just another city. Be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine! We ordered the ceraviche, angus entrecôte, and the pork ribs and everything was sooo good. The ceviche was so fresh and light that even my partner, who usually doesn't eat ceviche, shared the plate with me. (We continued to talk about the dish even days after lol.) I had the pork ribs and loved it; the pork was perfectly tender. My partner ordered the steak which I also tried - very good. My only regret was not leaving any room for dessert! I would definitely go back to Barcelona just to eat here again! Thanks to the nice staff for answering any questions we had regarding the menu and the neighborhood, and to the chefs there for making one of the best meals I've ever had!

Yelp
We flew into Barcelona, got to our AirBnB, took a shower and went in search of food. We stumbled on this place and it looked empty from the outside. We were hungry so we went inside. We were asked if we had reservations and of course we didn't. The host told us to wait and got the manager. The manager sat us immediately and we then realized the actual dining room is out of sight from the street. We also realized that getting a table was a gift. The menu is accessed by a QR code and free wifi is provided. The staff was amazing and helpful as we only speak basic Spanish. The food was UH-MAZING!!!! The best meal I've had in a LONG time. I ordered the cava since I was told it's a must in Barcelona. My husband got a beer that was very nice! My 9yo gobbled up everything. Including the steak tartar which was unexpected. The best part? Our bill was only 84€! In the US that would have easily been double.

Trey T.

Yelp
this place is gas, get the damn ribs and the lamb shank. if you dont, then thats a major L.

Jack J.

Yelp
The food and drinks were excellent! The servers were warm and friendly and made us feel at home. Their attitude was like "oh, you want to order that? Great choice! You're going to love it!" And they were right every time.

Gabi P.

Yelp
it was soo good! didn't need a reservation and came with 2 others. tapas style was super enjoyable. i have a lot of allergies but everything on the menu was clearly marked and my waiter was very receptive. we ordered the steak tar tar which had a great yet different flavor. the ceraviche tasted so fresh! the ribs were a favorite by my father along with the blackberry mojito (super fresh. the squid was very good and the calamari strips were my favorite. they also made great bread and made me gluten free bread to order! highky reccommend.

Yelp
American in España and this place is great. Drinks, food service all stupendous! Great time had by all.

Arcadian B.

Yelp
Our first dinner arriving in Barcelona and the food and atmosphere was phenomenal. The restaurant is tucked away in a small narrow street of the raval. The cuisine is Spanish/Asian fusion. There is definitely a lot of Asian influence in the food from the ramen noodles, Thai flavored scallops and wasabi nigiri Iberia pork. The atmosphere is intimidate and corky. Would recommend this place
google avatar

Laleh E.

Yelp
Wowowowow! Amazing food and cocktails! Everything we had was fantastic! It was our first dinner in Barcelona and I don't think any other restaurant will top this one. It's hidden in the gothic quarter, but worth the trip. Definitely order the baby scallops! We ordered the baby scallops, yuzu oysters, Thai sea bass and beef cheeks, all delicious. I don't know if any other place in Barcelona will be able to top this one! Muchas gracias!
google avatar

Racquel B.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to literally be staying next to Cera! I was solo traveling and not really up to navigating El Raval at night, so Cera was an easy, perfect option. I first came for drinks one night and the following night landed here for a late dinner. It's perfect for the jet lagged who need a power nap at 9 PM only to awake at 11 PM hungry but not down to wander. They close at 11:30 but will give just as warm a welcome if you pop in at 11 anyway. The staff were all so warm, friendly and welcoming. Luis, the bartender was awesome and full of good energy. Loved my red sangria and I ordered the verduras in coconut curry and it was delicious and the vegetables fresh. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Perfect place to try great tasting, well-presented and unique foods. And also, a great place for when you really can't eat another typical tapas. Cera 23 serves tapas too but they're not your typical tapas. Really good tasting plates. For our main dishes, we ordered beef cheeks, marinated tuna, grilled Iberian pork, and sea bass. Each dish was perfect. The best for me was the grilled Iberian pork, but my kids loved their orders of beef cheeks with creamy potato. Don't skip dessert! They have really good chocolate cake with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream. Although the presentation was beautiful, I was not too impressed with their take on the cheesecake, though.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
One of our favorites in Barcelona. Reservations were very easy to make online. RECS: Burratino- fresh melt in your mouth, creamy burrata with a lovely pesto dressing accompanied with salad and sun dried tomatoes Iberia pork carpaccio- high quality ham with aioli and tomato Octopus traditional style- well cooked and perfect amount of chewiness with potatoes Beef cheek with potatoes- so tender and again another melt in your mouth dish with creamy potato puree.... love Cheesecake- very light and modern redesign of cheesecake To top it off, while it is a fancier restaurant, the prices are affordable given the quality. We also had a fantastic bottle of verdejo wine. Service was great! Their sister restaurant is Arume nearby. I wanted to check it out but we didn't have time. Thanks Yelp for leading us to this find. It was one of the best meals we had in Barcelona.

Yelp
First night in Barcelona and we came here for dinner. Definitely make reservations if you want to come for dinner! We got lucky and was able to snag some seats at the bar. They were turning everyone else down because they were all booked for the night unless you can grab some seats at the bar if any were available. I definitely recommend getting the ceviche and the pork ribs! Ohhh.. the pork ribs were phenomenal! So soft and flavorful and it also came with these dots of sauces on the plate which was so good!!! We also ordered the shrimp which came with this mango sauce and the black seafood rice. We didn't like the mango sauce with the shrimp. It definitely does not pair well together. The black rice was just OK as well. If you're into drinks, I recommend the blackberry mojito. So good! The red wine we got was not bad as well!! At the end of our meal, they gave us these cherry chocolate shots and OH MAN, was that good!!! Such a great balance of the chocolate cherry and alcohol flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has AMAZING burrata! Would highly recommend. Everything else we got was good, but nothing to truly write home about.

Yelp
The service here was great! We arrived a little early for our reservation but luckily were accommodated due to it not being so busy. Eventually many more people trickled in. The food was ok, much better than some of the touristy spots we were warned about.

Yelp
Had dinner here with friends and their family for their wedding welcome dinner in August. They reserved our table beforehand so we didn't have any problems getting our table once we arrived. Entrance is a bit non-descript on a street with mainly residential dwellings. You go through their bar until you reach the back area with a wine cellar like vibe to it. It isn't a big space but they've maximized the use of the area. It is dimly lit so pictures are a bit dark as well. The servers were really nice, friendly and accommodating -- shout out to the Filipino server we had :) (I forgot his name though) The food was wonderful! It is a small restaurant and a small kitchen that prepares food fresh and upon order. There can be a bit of a wait especially if your table lands after the orders of others. For our appetizer, we got the Langostinos -- tempura with mango mirin dipping sauce. It was fresh and the sauce went really well with the tempura. For our mains, the hubby ordered their mushroom risotto -- it was perfectly cooked and it was bursting with mushrooms and truffle flavours but not to overpowering. The serving looks small but it was definitely filling and rich and he wasn't able to finish it all. On the other hand, I ordered their fresh pasta with prawns and baby tomatoes. It was lovely where the prawns were cooked to perfection, plump and juicy while the tomatoes provided sweetness and tanginess to the dish. I enjoyed it a lot. Also had a glass or two of their Sangria that was a perfect accompaniment to the whole meal. Definitely recommend this spot in Barcelona! Make sure to reserve a table in advanced :)

Yelp
Great service, very friendly staff. Blackberry mojito and burrata salad to die for. Great bread and ham. Otherwise food was okay, not great Okay

Yelp
The venue was nice and it was easy to get a reservation same day. Not amazing but would recommend if you order the right things

Yelp
Okay so this place was really interesting. Felt like there was a fusion here. We walked in and it was super busy but we were able to get a 2 seater at the back of the restaurant since one of the resos was a no show. Menu was interesting. The cheese ball and salad was interesting. I liked the salad, not the cheese. Tasted like nothing LOL but my bf liked that. Tomato Tartare was really interesting. Was kinda like a salsa?? But with mango whipped cream and seaweed? LOL it was weird sounding but I liked his this one tasted. Squid ink risotto wasn't my cup of tea as I'm not a fan of seafood but my bf enjoyed this! Finished up dinner and asked for the check and they gave us 2 shots on the house :)

Chris T.

Yelp
Tucked away in a small street of Barcelona. This place is always busy and delivers one of the best meals we had in Barcelona. Seafood and meat tapas were all outstanding. Scallop , cerviche, beef cheeks and beef tataki were the highlights of the night. Cava sangrias also delicious. Friendly staff. Highly recommend it

Yelp
This is a good restaurant in an... interesting... part of Barcelona. The alley is a little sketchy and the restaurant even has a security guard stationed out front. Out of curiosity, I asked the server why they had security, he sort of gave me a non-answer, saying that you always have to be careful of pick-pockets in Barcelona, especially in poorer areas. I appreciate that they want their patrons to feel safe, but it was a little strange. I'll let it go because the food and overall dining experience was really lovely! Everyone raved about the blackberry mojito so my boyfriend and I decided to give them a try. It was really tasty but nothing out of this world and definitely on the less-strong side. I also felt like we had a bottle of water forced on us and it tasted a little strange. To eat, we shared the Burratina, which I thought was really good and I enjoyed the salad that accompanied it. We also shared the potatoes with our main meals. They were good a nice side, but nothing special. For our mains, I had the Pluma Iberica (pork tenderloin) and my boyfriend had the Costillar Iberica (pork ribs). The pork tenderloin was probably the best I've ever had - so tender, not fatty and the flavors were absolutely amazing. It was perfectly cooked and had these nice little pearl onions as accompaniments (drool). My boyfriend, unfortunately, didn't love the ribs. He said they were a little too fatty for him and the flavor was alright. Overall, it was a good meal and the service was very quick and friendly, which you don't always find as tourists who don't speak the language!

Yelp
Oh man I'm so glad our tour guide Miguel told us about this place. We did not have a reservation but after a short stay at the bar we were shown to a table. The service at this place was great. They are very welcoming and accommodating. We tried the blackberry mojito and it was perhaps the best mojito I've had. I like sweet drinks so the fact that this has sugar at the bottom of the glass was a pleasant surprise for me. For dinner we got the ravioli and the special of the day which was a Cod dish. Both were super good. The ravioli had a sauce that initially took me off guard as it was slightly sweet. It had almonds on it. It was different but I cleaned my plate. The serving sizes are what it should be. Not huge like American serving sizes but definitely enough. I wanted more only because it was delicious! The cod was good too. It was served with broccoli and had some red peppers that we definitely needed more of...so good. After dinner we received a chocolate liquor type shot for digestion. I want to find that and take it home with me! It was so good.

Yelp
Charming, delicious, and innovative menu with friendly service. The blackberry mojito was not to be missed.

Yelp
My mom sat next to the owners brother on a plane ride from the US and he recommended we try Cera 23. We made reservations for a Saturday evening. We we arrived were greeted by a very friendly Gentleman who sat us. My mom ordered their featured cocktail and I had a glass of the house red. We shared a appetizer of mozzarella cheese, pesto and greens. It was amazing! We both had pasta dishes for our entrees and desserts. My ravioli was simply amazing. We plan to return before heading home this week.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my dinner at Cera 23. The space is pretty small and usually requires reservations, but my party of 3 got lucky and we were immediately seated by the door. I got the Volcan de arroz negro and a blackberry mojito and both were delightful! The squid ink in the rice made the dish very umami and the texture of the rice with the blend of seafood was perfect. The blackberry mojito made for a nice photo and was delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet and had a strong blackberry flavor. It was also amusing how opaque and black the drink was. I would highly recommend getting both of these options!
