Beautiful peaceful hotel with lovely staff , favourite Edgar so happy and friendly! Amazing food, rooms need a little TLC but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights as part of our G Adventures tour . Free water taxi from hotel big bonus. Lots of great options for tours direct with hotel . Lovely swimming pool. Beautiful gardens with many birds to spot

Nice basic cabins with hot showers and fans, no air conditioning. Exquisite gardens. The manager, boat skipper, and guides who work out of here are excellent. Breakfast was decent, and it was the only hotel/ guesthouse we're we had eggs made to order. Lunch and dinner were not great! 3.5 Stars🌟 due to the lunch and dinner offer

4 people in our party had money stolen from their room (4 seperate thefts across 4 rooms) with no forced entry. They accused them of lying and said it should be 'kept quiet', which is disgusting behaviour. No air conditioning, no glass in window frames, multiple power cuts, paper thin walls so you can hear everyone, swimming pool was green, flies everywhere at breakfast. Breakfast was very nice food to give some balance to review. Would not ever stay again due to no safes in the rooms and now would not feel safe leaving things in room and going on excursions. Avoid at all costs

Do not stay at this hotel. There is no safe and they stole our money from our room. We lost 50USD and our passports were clearly tampered with as well. I have now had to notify all my banks at home to ensure my identity is safe. This also happened to 3 of the other rooms as part of the tour group we stayed with. The hotel were unapologetic, accused us of lieing, and asked our tour guide to "keep it on the low". Disgusting behaviour. Edit: The response from the owner demonstrates their attitude perfectly.

We stayed here around the turn of 2020/21. The service we received was absolutely wonderful, very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We signed up for full board without asking the price just by turning up for every breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I was kind of dreading the bill at the end, but it was really cheap. The rooms are fine. There is no air con but this seems standard for the area, and we slept well. The pool is not huge but great for children to splash about.

Hard to get to. No AC and no WiFi in the very simple rooms. I was led to believe that food was included and only found out after checkout that it was not. Turns out it's quite expensive for lunch and dinner which is buffet style. It's cheaper to take a private taxi into town and have a nicer dinner there. The pool is run down and people were playing music loudly from their phones and smoking. The staff were nice enough. Not a quiet and relaxing place. There are much nicer places for the same price in this area.

We stayed here for two nights in March 2022 and it was great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Kaylor, who is almost always at the check in desk, is so kind and goes out of his way to answer questions and help with any issues. We had a problem with our shower and he had someone there to fix it within minutes. The man who seems to be in charge of the restaurant (I think his name is Charlie) is such a hard worker as well, and he was also very attentive and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, including the pool. The rooms are a little dated, but they’re incredibly clean. We could hear our neighbors chatting through the walls, but honestly, it’s not that big of a deal. Everyone went to bed pretty early because most people have plans for early morning hikes and canoe trips to look for animals in the forest. The included breakfast is really well done. The wifi is only available in the restaurant/reception area, but that was no problem at all. Frankly, it’s nice to have a little break and relax with nature anyway. The lodge is across the river from the town of Tortuguero, but it’s easy to grab a water taxi and I know the reception would help you get in touch with one. It really is a lovely place and incredibly relaxing. One of my favorite spots was t just sitting in the rocking chairs overlooking the river. I highly recommend this place. Unless you’re super uptight and need a fancy place, this lodge is really well managed and nice.

Would advise not to stay here. We were part of a group tour - 4 rooms had money stolen, passports tampered with and/or bags rifled through. No safety boxes in rooms and cleaners arrived at odd times and more than once even though room had already been serviced. Hotel was in denial when reported.
