Google
This was our first meal upon arriving in Barcelona, as recommended by our hotel receptionist. We were in search of Tapas and we received amazing dishes. Service was amazing and food served quick. Returned again later on for a second time. I wish I had more photos, but we were very keen and quick to eat.

Google
Excellent place for tapas. We came here around 10:00 PM and had to wait 20 minutes to find a table. So I can only guess it will take much longer if you come at regular dinner times. The kitchen stops serving food after 11, and they stop serving rice or pasta options after 9:30, which is a little disappointing. We tried multiple tapa options and all were amazing, 10/10 for the quality. We tried fried garlic shrimp, red shrimp, tomato bread, and mixed fried fish. The fried garlic shrimp is by far the highlight of this place. We ended up ordering it 3 more times as it is irresistible!! We also got sangria for a drink and cream caramel for dessert, and both were good

Cervecería Catalana is an excellent Catalan restaurant right in the heart of the city. It offers a wide variety of delicious and authentic tapas — all beautifully prepared, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The portions are on the smaller side, but that’s part of the charm: you get to try multiple dishes without feeling too full, and the prices are very reasonable. We ended up ordering most of the tapas on the menu, and honestly, we loved almost everything. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, and the variety kept the experience exciting. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this place is a real gem and offers a truly authentic tapas experience in a lively and welcoming atmosphere. If you want to find a table quick come before 1PM. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy great food in a true Catalan setting.

Visiting Barcelona for the first time. My friend recommended this place. It’s walking distance from our hotel. We stayed at Renaissance Barcelona I think it’s about 10 min walk. We went for dinner. There was a line we put in our name at the host desk and waited about 15 min to get seated. We ordered a bunch of tapas to try. The food came out so fast everything was delicious. Some were so good we reordered a 2nd round. We ordered another order of the lobster rice, grilled razor clams and the codfish with honey aioli. The menu is quite bit I don’t mind going back to eat again so I can try out other food we didn’t eat to try. I definitely want to try the suckling pig 🤭

Google
Average tapas but for some reason the place was pumping. Service was quick and not personal. The food was ok - the Greek salad was soggy, patatas bravas average and the prawns were tasty. Mini burgers were ok. Overall the prices are high and mainly a tourist trap. There’s got to be better places to eat.

Google
the restaurant is very big, but also very busy, the atmosphere is good. I came here 2 times just for the Foie gras. Despite they are so packed, the service is good and fast. The Foie is exceptional, I tried langostinos, bacalao, pulpo, which are OK, but nothing special. As I am single, I don't have to wait but for bigger groups???

Google
This is a tapas restaurant. It doesn't seem to take reservations, so we walked in. The restaurant was spacious and crowded with many customers. The staff were friendly and worked efficiently, which we liked. We ordered the dishes in the photos, and were impressed by how delicious they were. And they were all reasonably priced! The beef and foie gras dishes were especially delicious. If we had been hungrier, we would have liked to have tried more dishes. It was a really nice restaurant. We definitely recommend going there if you're staying in Barcelona.

Google
One of my favorite spots in Barcelona! Good atmosphere and delicious food at a fair price. The service is friendly and fast, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. Just be prepared to wait a bit to get in—reservations aren’t accepted, so you’ll need to queue for a table.

Yelp
If you are in Barcelona this is a MUST The food is fresh. The staff is amazing. The ambience is trendy but very tasteful. Standouts are the foie gras, Russian ensalate, and really honestly you have to try it all. Superb and priced so so well. A must!!

Yelp
Place is great and food is delish. Tapas and more. Definitely bar food and more! The standard tapas fare like papas bravas, croquet, brochetas, jamon ibiricos, salads, goood deserts like the Xurros amb Xocolata (churros and chocolate), crema Catalana and sooo much more. Drinks galore too! Worthy of a repeat performance. And not to mention great service from Ruel and Dennis. And the place is humming well, service fast, and great attitude.

Yelp
There is definitely a difference between great tapas versus mediocre tapas. I have had similar dishes at other tapas bars and the tapas here are just much better. For example, their huevos cabreados (literally meaning "angry eggs") is the best I have had in Barcelona. It is fried eggs served on top of a bed of fries and sprinkled with a spicy red oil. While others just have some runny eggs over soggy fries, the version here has eggs-over-easy on crispy straw fries with a flavorful creamy sauce drizzled throughout. Their montaditos are also amazing. Flavorful meats and seafood sit on a small toasty baguette slice. I especially liked the shrimp skewer montadito. Best of all, each tapas dish was only around €5, as tapas should be. When you are ready to pay, take the little piece of paper that your server scribbled on and bring it to the cashier at the front. Do not wait until your server comes to give you a check -- it will not happen. He or she is not coming back. Note: Cerveseria Catalana shares the same owner as Ciutat Comtal and Vinitus, and the menus are nearly identical.

Yelp
Location: Barcelona. Near to casa Batlló Ambiance: family oriented but also excellent choice to hang out with friends or even to bring a date. Food: Delicious is an understatement. Topnotch ingredients to make one of the most delicious food in Spain Service: excellent Yelp factor: Food is not cheap but it is reasonable. Can't wait to go back to Barcelona and eat at la cerveseria

Yelp
What a great spot for a tapas brunch on a Sunday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We spoke English but had no issues at all. Highly recommend the figs and patatas bravis. Recommend street seating for a great atmosphere.

Yelp
Worth the hype for a popular tapas recommendation. Great variety of tapas and generous portion for the price. We sat at the bar to avoid any wait time. The line around dinner time was up to 45 mins while I was there but looked like it moved fast. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The vibe was contemporary cozy packed with a mix of tourists and locals. I would highly recommend but definitely no need to go out of your way. We stayed near by and overall experience and consistency made us go a least 2x during our trip.

Yelp
The restaurant had the most reviews on Yelp, and for good reason. I came in during lunch and was seated quickly at the bar. I'm glad I didn't have to wait. There was a crowd of people waiting when I left and they don't take reservations. Sitting at the bar, I got to watch the guy make montaditos- open faced Spanish sandwiches. I wish that I could've tried more of the different tapas, but limited myself to: razor clams, fried mix (squid, cuttlefish, small fish, & pardon pepper) and the salmon and prawn salad montadito. I love seafood. It was all yummy! My favorite was the montadito, but I was confused because there was no bread. Overall, this was my favorite meal in Barcelona.

Yelp
We stopped in here late after we landed and the food was so good! We got the patatas bravas and churros and they hit the spot

Yelp
Ordered: Greek Salad (~€5): fresh cheese with tomato Pan con Tomate (~€4) Patatas Bravas (~€5) Fried Mix (~€8): squid, cuttlefish, smallfish, and padron pepper Al Ajillo Style Shrimp (~€10) Lobster Rice (~€10) - lunch only Octopus Galician Style Tapa (~€9) Grilled Razor Clams (~€11) Beef Tenderloin Montadito w Foie (~€7) Mini Hamburger and Cheese (~€4 each) Crema Catalana (~€4) Torrija Cremada de St. Teresa (~€4) Aya's take: I've read so many reviews about how this place is a must-visit and there are long lines, and to my surprise, when we arrived around 12:30pm, there wasn't a line at all. Our party of 6 was seated right away. The line started to form around 1:30pm/2pm on our way out. Considering we were a large party, we ordered a bunch of tapas and decided to share it. This is the way to go at Cerversaria Catalana because they have so many great options to choose from. Some standouts were the Fried Mix, Al Ajillo Style Shrimp, Lobster Rice, Octopus Galician Style Tapa, and Torrija Cremada de St. Teresa. The seafood was super fresh with a lot of depth in flavors. You can't go wrong with their seafood tapas. Both dessert recommendations were recommended to us by the staff and I must say the Torrija Cremada de St. Teresa is worth a try! It's creamy, sweet, and hits the spot. They have plenty of seating and service is super quick, so if you do see a line, just get on it! Great spot if you're in Barcelona.

Yelp
There's a reason for the line! It's delicious! Come at an off time to now have to wait forever for a table. All the food I saw looked amazing. Be prepared to spend some money ;)

Yelp
I cannot recommend this more! Best Meal in Barcelona for real! Everything was Tapas style, and their tapas were really creative! Got a pitcher of Sangria for the table and it was such a good decision! That Sangria was absolutely beautiful and I could totally have had multiple glasses on my own! Cabreaos style Eggs Was undoubtedly my favorite. Very thin, crispy fries topped with sauce and fried eggs which the server actually chops up and mixes in front of you. Everything in this dish went so well together! Cod Fish with Honey Aioli Was a really good and beautiful surprise! I was hesitant when my husband wanted to order it but oh man this was amazing. Everyone else on the table said this was their favorite item. That honey aioli really went so well with the fish (which was also perfectly cooked, might I add). Crispy Camembert Skewer was also unexpectedly good! It was like a large slab of Camembert coated with some crispy thing served with some bread. Petite but lovely. Prawns Garlic Style - I was not expecting there to be that liquid in the bowl so not sure how I felt about that but the shrimp itself was cooked well. No major garlic flavor or anything but an overall good dish to get some protein in. Lobster Rice (I think this was a Lobster Paella?) Was surprisingly good! They were chunks of lobster in the rice and also lobster in the shell placed on top as well. Rice itself didn't taste overpoweringly like seafood and I definitely appreciate that. Also shout out to the large volume on this one! Very much a value for money. Mini Hamburger+ Cheese - This one felt extremely small for the price. No doubt it tasted good but it was like a very tiny mini hamburger on a plate so it felt a little too less volume of food. Beef Tenderloin with Foie - that we first cooked perfectly well and went really well with the bread and the Foie. I personally am not a fan of foie So I didn't have that part but my dad actually had a lot of extra foie on its own. And this is a really good sign because he's not usually one for funky foods. Bacon Cheese Flauta - I think I was expecting cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon but I think I misunderstood here. It was a sandwich filled with bacon and dates and some melty cheese. Quite a unique combination which actually went well together. Tropic Flauta (ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce) Was quite decent. Good portion size on this as well because it had 2 mini baguette sandwiches! Desserts were an unexpectedly good surprise! The Slice of Llotet de Mar Ice Cream (ice cream sandwiches) were very unique. The actual part that is usually cookies was replaced with wafers here and it was a very different mouth feel. They also plated it extremely well with four mini cute cubes of ice cream sandwiches, so kudos to that as well. Best part? Burnt Saint Teresa "Torrija" was UNBELIEVABLE!! Turns out Torrija is like a Spanish version of French toast, but this thing was actually next level! It was like french toast that was stuffed with the custard that makes the Crema Catalana. I don't know what they do here but this was a really really beautiful dessert!

Yelp
After walking past this restaurant 5 or 6 times and never seeing the line get short, we decided it was time to try it. Arriving around 7, we were given a choice waiting 20 minutes or sitting at the bar. We chose the latter. It worked well since we enjoy meeting strangers. The offerings are primarily tapas, or small plates. We ordered a variety of items, some we enjoyed more than others, bit because they weren't made well, just things we tried that were outside of our comfort zones. Our favorite were the crab and shrimp, the hot peppers (not spicy, at least for us), and the very lightly fried eggplant. The dessert was too good, especially the Teresa Torrijasse (forgive my Spanish, if you dare to call it anything) which was like a standing bread pudding. The bill was reasonable for the 3 of us, just under €70. Simple, good food (not outstanding, but good) and a huge variety. We found service great, the atmosphere delightful, and the evening was a success. While we wouldn't put it on the list of "won't visit Barcelona without eating here," we would be happy to return if not too far out of the way.

Yelp
As the evening progressed we found out this was the sister location of one of our favorite spots (Ciutat Comtal) in Barcelona. It seemed smaller than Ciutat and there was a wait/long line at 7:30 on a Friday night. Must have been our table for two as we got lucky and were seated after only 15 minutes. We started with some Sangria and a Daura (Estrella) Lager -both delicious. Mushroom/Asparagus and mixed salad were light and fresh. Cod Mushroom Omelette, Grilled Cuttlefish and Iberian Ham Montadito were all delicious. That said, the Beef Tenderloin Foie Montadito stole the show. Perfect Tenderloin topped with Foie Gras. We could've had a few of these and probably should have. Pro Tip-Cuitat was always sold out of this one when we visited so this is the spot to get this amazing Montadito. We made room for dessert given the rave reviews for the "Burnt Saint Teresa Torrija"-Bread pudding delight that is not to be missed! The three layer chocolate was also tasty. Service was excellent -our server took great care of us despite a very busy evening. Don't miss this Barcelona Gem!

Yelp
This was a random stop it Barcelona. We walked by and noticed a long line so decided to give it a try. Even with the line, seated in less than 10-15 minutes. Service was quick and excellent. Quick to get us in and very fast service. We had a variety of tapas: Octopus, assortment of fried seafood, Lobster paella, Fried Eggplant, and Steak topped with foie gras. Octopus was great, tender and seasoned well. Really enjoyed both the fried seafood: not too much batter on the seafood and allowed you to enjoy and savor the flavor of the sardines and squid. The fried eggplant was crispy and sweet, this was a new one for me and enjoyed it. The star for me was the steak, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the mouth watering foie gras. The lobster paella had good flavor but little to no lobster. The rice had great flavor but lacked in meat/seafood. Honestly not my favorite and I'd avoid. Wonderful place and worth a try. You wont regret it.

Yelp
Great service and food served fresh. Nice place to sit and enjoy a tall glass of sangria with seafood. The only problem if you order meat it come's out bloody red in middle. Everything else is fine.

Yelp
This place was on a lot of lists for some of the best Tapas in Barcelona so we wanted to try it out. It was really cool and fun for my mother and I when we visited Barcelona a few months ago. This place was super busy, which is a good sign! We waited for about 15-20 minutes for a table. We ordered about 8 different tapas and they were all really good. The wild mushrooms and Cesar salad were the highlights. The service was really fast too. Out waitress was very attentive and accommodating as we had no idea what to do, lol. This was a great place for tapas and I would gladly go back if I'm in Barcelona again.

Yelp
Ohh well, had high expectations from this place but ohh boy, this place fell flat. I don't think they were having an off day but the food was just probably the worst tapas we had on our week long trip in Spain. We ordered quite a few things from the menu such as tomato bread, croquettes, mushroom salad, anchovies and few other things. Everything was just bad flavor profile wise, we didn't the enjoy at food at all. Service was lack luster as well. This looks like a tourist trap, avoid at all costs!!

Yelp
Best Catalan meal in Barcelona and absolutely wonderful service with fairly priced food and drinks. Air conditioned indoor seating and outdoor seating also available if desired. Cards and cash accepted for payment. Highly recommend eating here even if it's a bit out of the way depending on where you're staying
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best tapas place in Barcelona! Even though the restaurant's huge, there's always a wait during meal time. It's totally worth the wait, all the tapas and drinks're great here. Sangria = Strong, very smooth & fruity. Awesome sangria. Egg Cabreados = Pan Fried Eggs with Runny Yolks & Crispy Fried Potatoes. It's creamy, crunchy, packed with flavors. It's amazing & best food by far from this place. MUST TRY!!! Garlic Shrimps = Jumbo shrimps, buttery with a hint of garlic & spiciness. Shrimps're very fresh & tasty. Beef Tenderloin on Tomato Bread = Just alright, nothing special. Razor clams = Fresh, salty & fishy. The seasoning's good as they don't overpower the clams. Scallop Skewer = Fresh & crunchy. It's delicious, but the seasoning's similar to the razor clams. I'd pick 1 between those 2.

Yelp
We learned that Cerveseria Catalana is also owned by the brothas who own Cuitat Comtal. That's the main reason we walked all the way here. Same ownership, same menu, same great food, right?? Amma I right in my thinking?? Uhhh, it's Not as good as Cuitat Comtal.....We ordered the same stuff: - foie gras on steak on toast - excellent!! But we noticed that the tapas, well, it was a little smaller than Cuitat Comtal's. Reminds me of how McDonald's filet o fish decreased in size by 25%. But it was still very good and tasty, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every bite... - the fried calamari and mild peppas was also seasoned just right. I loved this, the calamari was very firm and not chewy. - finally, the bread pudding (Divine dessert - Santa Teresa) with whipped cream was once again, the star of the show. I could eat this every day, like I could eat In N Out everyday. And Cuitat Comtal doesn't serve theirs with whipped cream, so this is actually a step up. So would I come back here again?? Yes, for convenience but if Cuitat Comtal was closer, I'd probably go there instead. I guess I would go back to both and not have any regrets while flying back home.

Yelp
Tapa Hopping This is my second time at this traditional tapa spot and it did not disappoint. Don't be scared of the potential like outside, it moves pretty quick and the place is unassumingly big. Their menu changes daily but they do have some set items that don't fluctuate. One of them being my favorite: the tenderloin with foie. Such a small bite with degrees of flavor. It's capable to even convince those who say they don't like the taste of foie gras. One of the dishes I did miss from today's special was their sepia rice. If you get a chance to land that dish when you visit, make sure to get it. It gives you a good taste of what a black paella tastes like.

Yelp
Cerveseria Catalana is the most popular tapas restaurant in Barcelona, Spain wow they are open till 1:30am, who in the world would eat this late not even me, a night owl. This tapas restaurant is almost entirely staffed w Filipinos, all the chefs n servers are Filipinos lol! 1615 reviews 4.5 stars on Yelp, we walked 45 minutes to get there exhausted but got a table in 10 minutes. Unfortunately I was not impressed, the best tapas were at talledetapas but they went out of business after covid19 lockdown. Shrimp Al ajillo meaning w garlic so why was soaked in tons of hot chili peppers I accidently ate the sauce n a prawn causing my mouth to break out later. The steak was so chewy and tasted beefy, the baguette was hard as a rock, total waste of money, the mushrooms were delicious n croquettes were good. I was only faking it ! lol in the picture of me holding the sangria, I don't drink wine beer or sangria, they didn't have margaritas but my husband loved it. IMHO a tapas made by Filipinos won't be as good as the ones made by Spaniards, I have been to Barcelona so many times n went to so many tapas never in one where all the chefs were Asians, they were all wonderful , great customer service but perhaps not as good as someone growing up w the culture . I was frustrated there was no soup, no salad, I ordered a Russian salad it turned out to be potato salad! I don't eat goat cheese. Most other tapas restaurant I went to had zarzuela, most delicious Spanish bouillabaisse. I was hungry n disappointed, I sat on the balcony eating a bag of chips n people watching on las Ramblas, I didn't get fat today! Sorry 3 stars only maybe I ordered the wrong items, I should've ordered fried seafood, they looked so good, I wanted to but my husband said we'd go to taller de tapas, we took a taxi got there to find out it had gone out of business.

Yelp
For my sister's first trip to Barcelona, we decided to rent an apartment in the L'Eixample area. Cerveseria Catalana was a short walk away from our apartment and I'm sure if we'd stayed longer, we would've eaten there more than once. The tapas were delicious, tasted fresh with quality ingredients and reasonably priced. My mom really loved the cod montadito so we ordered her another one. For the four of us, we ordered 15 dishes plus drinks, with the total price being relatively low. Serving sizes of tapas are for one maybe two people. My brother and I have big appetites but my mom and sister do not. We definitely ordered enough. We came for a very late lunch/early dinner because my mom can't stay awake for Spanish meal times. At 3:30pm this place was bustling and had to wait for a table about 20 minutes. We chose to eat outdoors and they were very accommodating to my mom with her wheelchair. Most of the front staff are Filipino so we were able to communicate with everyone in both English and Tagalog. Service was speedy and very polite! Receipt: tea, patatas bravas, chicken/ham croquettes, tomato toast, Iberian ham, Spanish tortilla which is similar to frittata/omelette, cod bruschetta, Cesar pasta salad, beer, lemon beer, Torrija is similar to bread pudding, churros & chocolate, crema Catalana is like a thin & less sweet crème brûlée, carrot cake, kings cake, espresso, double espresso, angry eggs, and sirloin with topped with foie gras.
google avatar

Steph C.

Yelp
we were there twice, once was for the famous chocolate and churros, great treat! next day after a long day at the catalyuna race track , we stopped in without reservation for early dinner , we were accommodated to sit at the bar, menu is translated in English , service was most attentive! Needless to say , food and drinks are excellent, and again, we ordered another chocolate and churros to round up our meal.

Yelp
Long lines and extremely busy tapas spot which is very highly rated. We tried several things and I really enjoyed the papas cabreadas but star of the show for me was the bacalao with honey, that was just outstanding. Great ambiance with good service was a 4 and food was a 3.75 for me.

Yelp
Another great tapas place- cute vibes, inside and outside seating, welcoming, friendly and efficient service- seated immediately, AND great food! After eating here, we realized some of the tapas in Barcelona (at least the places we went to) are pretty standard, and the menu was almost identical to the last 2 places we had tapas at (Vinitus and la flautas). I am not complaining at all, coz #1 I love tapas and #2 this actually allowed us to try different things. We came for lunch; had prawns on a scewer, Spanish omelette, cabreaos eggs (thin crispy fries, topped with fried eggs which are then broken and mixed in by the server), and sirloin steak. It ended up being a bit much for 2 people, give we were wanting something light - but that's on us! Everything was great! Definitely recommend! But would recommend maybe branching out if you are visiting and have been to any of the places mentioned in this review!!

Robert M.

Yelp
Picked Cerveseria Catalana from Yelp reviews and then taxi driver confirmed choice. Friday night was busy but the wait for 2 didn't take long. We ordered 6-7 tapas plates. Enjoyed every one. Busy and noisy but kinda goes with what to expect on a Friday night at a popular restaurant.
google avatar

Erica B.

Yelp
We loved this place in Barcelona. We have had tapas from several restaurants in Barcelona and Madrid and this was by far our favorite. Plan to wait 30+ minutes but as a party of 2, we got in relatively quickly and sat at the bar. Everything was fresh and delicious with a great environment. Food came out quickly, was hot and delicious and wine was lovely! We loved the dessert and all of the tapas were delicious! Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Why 4 stars? Because I liked it, but didn't love it like other meals. --- --- --- Pretty much everything we tried here was good, but I'm not sure I'd say any of it was great. The outliers were that the bread pudding was pretty awesome and I wasn't a big fan of the tenderloin and foie gras, but everything else we tried fit firmly in the 4-star camp. The Patatas Bravas, the lobster rice, the octopus, the chicken croquettes, the tomato bread and the cabreaos style eggs were all tasty, but not something I'd encourage fellow tourists to bend over backwards to try when visiting. We weren't sure where we wanted our last meal to be and ultimately settled on this spot because enough people had recommended it. I'd probably opt for another restaurant with the benefit of hindsight, but it's a testament to how amazing the food scene is in Barcelona that even a 4-star dinner feels like a disappointment. This is a pretty big restaurant, especially by Barcelona's standards. We walked up and saw a ton of people waiting, so we feared it would be an eternity until we were sat, but we were at a table in about 15 minutes, so they do a good job of turning here.
google avatar

Jasmine B.

Yelp
We visited Cerveseria Catalana twice during our trip. Excellent tapas and ambiance! Love the variety of seafood, especially the red prawns and seafood skewer. The figs with ham were also lovely, aged manchego, the razor clams, churro con chocolate, and the bread pudding. The only thing we ordered that I didn't care for was the mixed fried seafood plate. During the evening they even roast a whole pig and it's a menu item. There can be a wait but it's worth it. Docking a star because service is hit or miss. Our second time it was difficult to find our server to order additional menu items.

Yelp
Best meal we had in Barcelona! If it's Anthony Bourdain recommended, that carries a heavy weight with my friends and me. He was the food demigod! Heads up, it gets incredibly busy. Get there early in order to get a seat. Opting for a bar seat will get you seated even quicker. We arrived 6:15pm and were seated about 15 minutes later for our party of 2 at the bar. The food is so reasonably priced here and comes out fast as heck. I loved everything about it. And then for it to actually be mouth wateringly delicious was such a cherry on top. Perfection in dining! My friend and I started with a special of the night, Duck breast with chutney -ah! So good and under 4 Euros. What world am I living in!? 3.25 Mini Hot Dog with cheese, bacon, onions and condiments was so cute! Probably the least delicious of the night but such a fun little tapa. Everything else, including the duck if you can get it, are all must get items! Promise. ~Crispy Camembert Skewer 3.25 - I could eat millions of these gooey chewy cheese sticks with jam. ~Creamy mushrooms 6.95 - Best mushrooms of all time with a runny egg to mix in. ~Eggplant Chips with honey 5.95 - Perfect balsamic-ish honey on these crispy yet soft chips. ~Beef tenderloin montadito with foie gras 6.95 - Soft and flavorful. ~Chocolate 3 textures 3.25 - Those different textures yo. Crunch then soft then smooth. Bomb. You can make this a faster meal or take your time with some vino & savor the moments. Either way, you're in for some really good eats at Cerveseria Catalana.

Yelp

4.5/5 stars Came here for lunch, and the wait was only a few minutes to sit at the bar. We tried the potato omelette, razor clams, shrimp, octopus, and cuttlefish and meatballs. I enjoyed everything! The omelette had a great flavor. It was slightly oily, but I loved it. The octopus was tender and was perfection. This was my fave! The cuttlefish dish was a little salty, but the cuttlefish was tender.

Yelp
This place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. I have mixed feelings about this place. We went here twice but the first time we found hair in our food. However, the second time was really good. The food though is amazing and I guess that's why we came here twice. Luckily both times we did not have to wait and we got seated immediately, I guess if you have more than two people it might take longer. The first time everything was good, but we found a long piece of hair in our mushroom dish. :( The second time was a lot better, service and no hair. Lol The best thing you can get here is the fograw with steak for about 6 euros. We also enjoyed the 13 little hot peppers. Lastly, we really enjoyed one of the desserts, forgot what it's called but look at my pictures and it's the pastry looking one. I'd skip the boiled prawns and razor clams... All in all, highly recommend this place.

Yelp
First night in Barcelona and we happened upon Cerveseria Catalana. We walked right in and got seated immediately at the bar. Lucky us since there was a line out the door at 5:00pm. We love this place, our favorite meal and first impression of this fabulous city!

Yelp
Found this place randomly on yelp while visiting Casa Mila in 2021. We arrived on the earlier side of lunch and were able to grab the last 2 spots at the bar. The food was delicious and I kept thinking of the montadito with the solomillo and foie for the next year and a half. Eventually I sent my parents here and they were obsessed (went twice). Luckily I was recently back and walked over after touring Casa Batllo-- it was madness. Tons of people waiting on the curb after putting their names in. This time I was visiting alone, so I got called up and seated at the individual seats by the window within 10 minutes. I had a lovely dinner. Minus half a star for multiple items on the menu being out (it was not too late an night); however this gave me the persmission to have 2 of my favorite montadito. Will be back for sure next time I'm in Barcelona. I wish they would take reservations!

Yelp
One of the BEST meals I've had in Barcelona! I spent the whole time being so happy and excited every time I tried each dish. The service as also very nice - we sat at the bar and they checked in with us pretty often. The beef tenderloin with foie was probably one of the best things we ordered. I'm still dreaming about to be honest... the beef was SOO tender and it literally melts in your mouth. I would do anything to eat that again... The codfish with honey allioli was also to-die-for. It was such an interesting sauce and the fish was very soft. The prawns, clams, and mussels grilled were also super yummy! The sauce was bomb. We needed some veggies and ordered a salad which was decent as well. Overall, I would 10/10 recommend and come check it out.

Yelp
Lives up to the hype. Best meal in Barcelona, probably on my entire trip (Spain, France, England), and affordable. Mussels and clams was my favorite, but everything purchased/pictured was delicious + a local cerveza. Accommodating for solo diners, sitting at the bar you get to see other tasty items in this classy but comfortable restaurant. Try in the 3 pm area - I was seated quickly. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
One of the best tapas restaurants in Barcelona. It's a big place. There's always a long line. If you want to eat here either come early to get on the waitlist or make reservation. Everything is delicious. The price is right ... no wonder the place is always packed.

Yelp
Awesome place. They don't take reservations but were seated very quickly. Food was very delicious, great indoor and outdoor seating. Nice vibe.

Yelp
This location is really for tourists I think. We were seated without a reservation which was nice. We ordered razor clams since we tried at a different restaurant that was so fresh and tasty the night before. I had higher expectations for this restaurant since it had better reviews on yelp. It was completely over cooked.

Yelp
We are here on our first night in Barcelona. So close to our hotel (Hilton). We decided to eat early to avoid the crowds. At 6 pm, we were seated at once with no wait. When we left the restaurant, there is a bigger crowd waiting for a table. This seems to be the trend for whole week we passed by the restaurant. We wanted to eat here once more but didn't want to wait long. The service is excellent. Very helpful with what is available that is not on the menu. There is a good selection of tapas, sandwiches, and entree. We got lucky that conchinillo was being carted on the restaurant floor and ready to serve. Must get "huevos cabreados", "angry eggs" because... they are slightly spicy. The fried eggs are served on top of a bed of straw fries sprinkled with a spicy oil, red from paprika. All the tapa dishes we ordered were delicious. Must also get both while and red sangria. Make sure to make room for desert- churros or torrijo. Definitely a great restaurant around placa de gracia.

Yelp
We came in a bit early, around 7, and were seated right away for a party of 4. We saw some good reviews on Yelp and were excited to try tapas on our first night in Barcelona. The service was great. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. We ordered several different tapas to share. The seafood tasted super fresh and delicious. The charcuterie was very yummy. Fried eggplant was lightly breaded and good flavor, not too greasy. Our waitress recommended the fresh fish with red sauce, it was super savory and one of our favorites. The shrimp was amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Don't be discouraged by the crowds outside, the wait moves quickly. Just give the hostess your name and listen to be called in. We sat at the bar (just two of us) and it was fun. Lots of action behind the bar, prepping the tapas and other goodies. We had the rice of the day which was black rice with cuttlefish. The olives with sardines sardines (2 kinds) was lovely. The mixed plate of jamon was very good too. I wasn't crazy for the seafood in marinara, but my date liked it. So what do I know? Very professional service, good bathrooms. Perfect pit stop when you're a tourist!

Yelp
Please please please go here! This is my favorite spot in Barcelona! The service is amazing, it felt like an upscale dining experience and it did not disappoint. We ordered plenty of food and everything was amazing. I loved the shrimp and Jamon the most but seriously everything was great Service was amazing, restaurant was very clean, and it was one of my most enjoyable meals here in Barcelona

Yelp
Really satisfying Spanish breakfast! Decided to come here for a quieter breakfast since I heard other times there can be a long wait. It did not disappoint! They have a breakfast menu, but you can also ask for the tapas menu. See photos for the menus you get at breakfast time. I finally got to have a real Spanish omelet, crema catalana, pan con tomate, and patatas bravas. The omelet was absolute perfection - so soft and luscious. It came with the crispiest pan con tomate. The patatas bravas were perfectly cooked and crispy. When combined with the sauce, it was the perfect comfort food. I tried the fresh squeezed orange juice which was also very nice. We also got a tasty breakfast platter with eggs, bacon, and avocado with pan con tomate. The crema catalana was the perfect end to the hearty Spanish breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat outside. The restaurant had some customers but no line just after opening.

Yelp
This place was rated extremely high with 17K+ reviews on google so we thought we would try it out. When we got there, there was almost an hour wait with a crowd outside the door. So again we thought "wow this place must be delicious!" This place was wayyyy overhyped. My husband and I were both disappointed in how small and expensive the food was compared to the other restaurants we ate at in Barcelona. The food was okay, it was definitely not worth the hype and the money. I think this was the most expensive meal we had throughout our entire 2 week trip. The service was great though. If you're looking for fine dining tapas, this is a good place. If you want authentic tapas that are filling and cheap, go somewhere else.

Yelp
5 stars for the place! We went on a Tuesday early lunch ~11am and were seated right away (recommended going at an off hour because they do not take reservations and there tends to be a LONG wait! We sat indoors (outdoors is a smoking area, so be prepared for a lot of cigarette smell), ordered house wine and a glass of sangria. Drinks are very affordable and the house wine was better than what you would expect from the States. We ordered razer clam, beef / foie gras montadito (small baguette open sandwich), fried seafood mix, gambas (garlic prawns) for savory - and two desserts, crema catalan and llotet de mar ice cream. From favorite to least - 1. Razer clam (chewy, tasty, not too fishy) 2. Lloret de mar ice cream (wafer / sweet cream vanilla ice cream) 3. Beef foie gras montadito (high quality foie gras) 4. Gambas (prawns melt in your mouth) 5. Fried seafood (fried anchovies were so unique) 6. Crema catalan (was also very good but resembled creme brulee which relatively didn't feel too unique) Overall - everything we ordered was 5/5. We are debating going back again tomorrow! Our favorite spot in Barcelona, and the price is VERY affordable. All the above was 60 euros total.

Yelp
Don't believe the hype. I was so excited to try this place as everyone was raving about it. Seafood was dry and tasted fishy. Spanish omelette tapa was cold. We planned on ordering more food but after trying the first couple tapas we decided not to. There are way better places to eat in Barcelona.
