Cerveseria Vaso de Oro is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the warm and friendly service set the tone for a perfect evening. The staff made us feel like locals, offering great recommendations and keeping the atmosphere lively and welcoming. We started with the tomato salad, and it was surprisingly memorable. Juicy, ripe tomatoes with just the right touch of olive oil and salt so simple, yet so flavorful. The Patron peppers were another highlight: blistered to perfection, smoky and addictive, with that fun little game of heat that keeps you coming back for more. And the steak… wow. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of deep, rich flavor. A true standout that rivals high-end steakhouses, but served in a more relaxed, vibrant setting. Whether you’re just grabbing a beer and a snack or settling in for a full meal, Vaso de Oro delivers an unforgettable experience. Can’t wait to return!

Always a Pleasure coming here. The service is outstanding and the beer even better. We love the spicy tuna salad with fried bread. Here you see the decor, waiter outfits and dishes as they have been for years and years (atleast 40). It’s made to perfection and the atmosphere is traditional Spanish/ catalán. Very often this place is full but it’s worth coming here for some good quality tapas and sample their amazing draft beers

This place is extremely sweet and cozy. Their house-made beers are very tasty. I had the Russian salad and spicy tuna. I think neither is ideal to eat alone; sharing half and half is perfect. The chicken croquettes were also delicious. A staff member who speaks English will be able to help you.

The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming. Today, we were even treated to half a portion of meat, which made us so happy! It’s a restaurant with great value for money, delicious food, and very refined preparation. There’s also a strong emotional touch that adds to the whole experience. Absolutely loved it — so far, it’s my favorite restaurant in Europe!

Google
Good location, loud but vibrant place it was. Fellow tourists! The servers are quite kind, but you might not gonna feel it though. Just be yourself and done be shy. You will get what you asked for. But ONLY what you asked for. Ask for everything and don't count on their hospitality. Food was great. Get the fried peppers for your side dish. You won't regret it. Chao!

Google
We went to this restaurant for a goodbye party for some friends returning to Brazil. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the Russian Salad, Andalusian-style fried squid, Granjero Sandwich, sirloin with foie and onion, and salmon tacos. My favorite was the sirloin with foie — the onion sauce with the meat was just insane! Every single dish was delicious, and the atmosphere was vibrant and lively. The waiter was super fun and had us laughing the whole time. If you’re in Barcelona, this is definitely a must-visit spot!

Google
Great local spot with good beer and good all around tapas. When it’s crowded, the service takes a toll as there is not enough staff to handle the number of people. Still a good experience and worth going.

Everything we ate and drank was great. The atmosphere is great. If you can find a seat, don't miss it. Although the gentleman who took care of us apologized for the delay from time to time, we were very happy with our situation. We enjoyed the atmosphere. If I come to Barcelona again, I will definitely stop by. I highly recommend the Russian salad, tuna salad and foie gras.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. We ordered the beef sirloin with foie gras, grilled peppers, patatas bravas, calamari, croquettes and pinchos. I enjoyed all of the tapas.

Yelp
We stopped by to try a couple of their beers, and the place was packed. The bartenders were friendly, efficient and speedy. The bar is L-shaped, and takes up the majority of the space; there's a few tables for dining along one wall. The food looked delicious; we only had olives.
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
Best tapas I've had in my entire life! You must get the croquettes and sirloin with foie. The sirloin especially melts in your mouth with the foie and onions. Cute and authentic atmosphere. Worth a wait.

Yelp
I wish had time to take pictures. We were so hungry after a long day around the city and was brought here by our tour guide. The warm welcome upon entrance is unbeatable. The service was spectacular and the ambiance is lovely. They don't close during siesta so that's a plus. Order the tuna , the croquet as, the beef with foie gras and caramelized onions. Or ask the server for their suggestions. You can't go wrong with items on the menu. Wash it all down with their homemade beer. I will highly recommend this place if you are ever in Barcelona
google avatar

Yelp
Nice beer on tap and great service. Tapas were good as well fun to see the bartenders interact with one another. Definitely a smaller place, don't come in larger groups.

Yelp
Loud but fun. Expect long lines. Food is absolutely delicious especially the Foie Gras. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Service is quick. Staff are very attentive to your needs.

Yelp
I loved the service here extremely friendly and funny. I will be dreaming about the fois gras for the rest of my life. 12.50 euro for the best tasting thing you will ever put in your mouth. Iberian jamon was also very good and nutty. Cute interior as well.

Tristan S.

Yelp
Attempted to go in today after 11 am when they showed to be open. A man from inside began yelling at me that they were not open and a woman shut the curtains on me so I could no longer look inside. Pretty pathetic service for a restaurant I was looking to give my money too.

Vange B.

Yelp
This was a great intro to yummy tapas for us. Loved the olives, sirloin with foie and peppers Enjoyed the blood sausage, country texture, tasted like savory tender meatloaf. The tuna chunk we ordered was dry and the Russian salad didn't appeal for us. Jamon Serrano is a staple in Barcelona The beer on tap smelled floral and I liked it. Staff is friendly. Environment had boisterous locals enjoying each other's company. Able to be seated quickly on a Thursday around 6:30pm

Yelp
Interesting place where I felt totally out of place. It seems more fitting for a gentleman's lounge instead. You walk in and most seating is along a long bar where you can view all tapas being offered. You can ask about them but the menu is Spanish/English (although the English side includes far too many non-translated words which makes it difficult to transcribe). The food, overall, was good. Not too many veggie options but the meats seemed appetizing while they grilled on the stove in front of the bar. One of the things we ordered was the artichokes which were surprisingly good. I had never tried them on their own before and damn they're tasty here. I would stop in here again for a few small bites but probably not for my full meal as it wasn't very filling.

Yelp
Our first meal in Barcelona (and Spain). I highly recommend coming here, if not for the food then for the local vibe (but DEFINITELY for the food). The waiter/bartender was so jovial and energetic, greeting everyone like old pals. His whistling is also fantastic. I mention this because the restaurant has a cool acoustics layout that you can hear the waiter whistle from behind the bar from where you are sitting (!). It is definitely a popular and loved local joint, so expect a wait. But don't let that deter you from going because... THE ARTICHOKES. Okay, I've had only one culinary mouth-watering experience with artichokes and that was at L'Avant Comptoir, which is one of my favorite restaurants. The artichoke dish here highlights the hearts, which are plump and juicy. I think it must be flash-fried, as it also had a slightly crunchy exterior without sacrificing any of the freshness of the meat. It didn't come with any other sauces, but the flavor profile was perfect enough that I didn't need much else. The Sirloin steak is fantastic as well. This also does not need any sauce to help elevate the flavor, as the meat is so incredibly juicy and just tender. You can get it with foie gras or peppers, and we opted for the peppers. They were bountiful and blistered to perfection, with the right amount of sea salt on top. Mmm mm mm! So good. It is also a steal at 13 euros per plate.

Yelp
My favorite place for lunch, great local bar/restaurant. A glass of beer together with grilled goose liver and you're in heaven
google avatar

Yelp
Old school vibe, mostly bar seating with a smattering of tables. Even though we don't speak much Spanish the bar staff was still very friendly and engaging. But the main reason you go to Oro is the foie gras and garlic steak. Oh boy! A little more than your average tapas but it is so worth it. Don't forget to save some bread to get all the juices and garlic. The fried artichokes, fried peppers and razor clams were also great. Highly recommend for a meal or a snack with a glass of beer and/or wine.

Yelp
This place is great! We were first greeted by one of the most friendliest and loudest chefs who ended up giving us free coasters when we left! The beer is SOO good and servered in cute beer glasses that makes you wanna keep drinking. The food was on point! The chorizo dish, croquettes, and the big steak dish was amazing. Highly highly recommended this place! Even found this place through Yelp!

Yelp
El Vaso de Oro is phenomenal! The tapas were heavenly, the beer plentiful and refreshing, and the service friendly. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Croquettes which were lightly crisp on the outside and filled with a rich creamy shredded chicken mixture on the inside. Next we had the Padron's Peppers. The peppers were addictive: savory, salty, tender, meaty, and lightly spicy. Finally we had the restaurant's specialty: Sirloin with Foie. WOW! What an amazing dish! The steak was perfectly tender and juicy with a lightly crisp outside and topped with decadent creamy foie and flavorful diced grilled onions. Yes, El Vaso de Oro is one of the best Tapa Bars in Barcelona.

Yelp
This is my 400th Yelp review, so I wanted to save it for something special, and Vaso de Oro will always have a special place in my heart. It was my last night in Barcelona. I'd been on a thirteen-hour tour that day and my guide recommended Vaso de Oro for dinner. It was the best tip of the trip! I'd been to some really wonderful Barcelona restaurants, some of them much fancier and more expensive, but Vaso de Oro was by far my favorite. It's off the beaten path. Lots of locals hang out here, which only affirms that this place is the real deal. The waiter spoke zero English, but the menu is in both Spanish in English so I was able to make my way. I had a very simple dish, grilled tuna. It was only 15.50 euros. It was a generous wedge of perfectly grilled tuna. See pic. I also had a glass of the house wine and the house beer. Both were superb, better than most premium wines and beers I've had elsewhere. House beer was only 2.40 euros for a flute. House wine as also in the same price range. Deal!!! Thank you Vaso de Oro. You really made my last night in Barcelona a perfect one. I'll never forget you!!

Yelp
We just happened upon this place. A step back in time to a genuine old school Tapas bar. Great experience, great tapas. When we asked about the Russian salad our waiter replied " well it has been on the menu for the past 70 years so I think many people like it". We did too!

Yelp
Wow! We got to the restaurant at 12:30-ish on a Saturday in late March and it looked packed, so since we weren't extremely hungry we decided to head to the beach for a while. We got back to the restaurant after trying to go to one other place that seemed very unfriendly to non-locals (we are from US). When we got back to El Vaso, we had to wait outside the restaurant for about 15 minutes before a gentleman called us in and sat us at easily the best table in the place. They have just a few tables but also sit down and stand up seating at the bar. They will speak Spanish to you and my wife is somewhat capable, especially with restaurant ordering, so we were able to communicate adequately. Our waiter was very patient and gracious with our less than stellar Spanish. We ordered the steak with foie gras, peppers (not spicy) and the fried artichokes. We weren't asked in advance for our preferred doneness for the steak but it came out to perfection, a medium rare plus. The peppers and artichokes were also delicious. We ordered a couple glasses of red wine. Lunch was about $50 Euros, not bad for the food quality. Would definitely come back. If you don't want to wait, you could show up right when they open.

Yelp
A casual, no frills Tapas bar in the heart of Barcelona's busy beachside. With a combination of friendly service and tasty bites, it's no wonder this place is popular amongst locals and tourists alike. My friend and I were starting our tapas bar hops for the evening, and we eyed Vaso de Oro as our first stop. It's narrow with primarily bar seating, and a couple of small 2-seater tables along the walls. When we came for an early dinner at 18:00, we were surprised to see how busy the bar was. It seemed like a lot of older gentlemen staying put, chatting it up with the servers, and having a great time. The atmosphere was great! How does ordering work? Simply tell one of the guys behind the counter, and they'll pass on the message to whomever to get your food going. We managed to get a small table and proceeded to order some staples: patatas bravas, croquettes, cheese and almonds, and some beers. Every nibble was fantastic, and a perfect portion size for two people. Everything here was around 5€ or less! A great bargain. We left feeling satisfied onto our next tapas bar. I would definitely swing by again the next time I'm in Barcelona just for the friendly, Catalan way of kicking back beers and munching on small bites.

Yelp
On our three week, 7 city Spain trip this place was one of our favorites. Very no frills tapas joint. The sirloin with foie gras was maybe the best single dish we had in Spain. The beers were nice and cold and hot the spot on a warm summer day. This is a must try if you're in Barcelona!
google avatar

Kati G.

Yelp
My friends favorite restaurant! Good beer, great food! Good company and loud environment. Would definitely recommend this spot. I have been twice, once for dinner and again for lunch. Have the tiny roasted peppers, the white tuna- potato salad and the steak! They also make there own beer! Have one for me, I'll miss you Pedro!
google avatar

Yelp
I had to yelp about this place as soon as I found out the existence of Yelp España. This is one of the best tapas bars I've ever been!!! Excelentes tapas!! Me molan muchoooooo!!!! Located in the less touristy area of Barceloneta district, this noisy, small, and bustling tapas bar is one of my favorite places in Barcelona. My favorites are foie a la plancha and diced steak!! Ay que ricoooooo!!!!! It's slightly more expensive than average tapas bar but so worth it. 5 estrellas!!!! P.S.- There are no tables, and the bar is packed! Chances are you will be elbowing your neighbor.

Yelp
Came here a while back (in 2017) and I keep randomly thinking about how fun it was... great food, great people... the place was packed but some locals gave up two seats and let us join the party! Best night in Barcelona by far! I couldn't remember the name and it had me awake at 2am searching yelp and looking at pics of every bar I could find... because it's THAT serious! Glad we found this place... even happier to find it again on yelp so I can go back next time!

Yelp
When on vacation, Jim G and I attempt to try as much of the best food as we can. It's often more important than sight-seeing, honestly. However, when we were in Barcelona, we went to this place twice because it was soooo good! As we were walking by, we saw a guy who was literally falling out one of the doors (he was laughing--as were we--, so it wasn't a tragic scene or anything). He was having that good of a time and it was that packed! Both times we ate here, the places was super busy but we eventually grabbed spots at the bar. The bartenders/servers are so friendly and funny! I love the maritime vibe in the decor and their uniforms, and I love the seemingly random singing! Things to order: -steak is amazing and, if you know how to do it right, get some Foie Gras on top! -Pimientos de Padron (spicy Padron peppers); you've probably had a version of this that hip places in America call Shishito Peppers. Very similar (no bonito flakes, obvi), but the ones here are the best and, generally, spicier. -Fried Chorizo; definitely beer-drinking food! Huge flavor, salty, great. Pretty much everything is good, but I'd definitely recommend to start with those.

Yelp
Found this place from yelp, and definitely glad that I did. My step-dad and I went around 2pm and were able to snag seats at the bar, no wait. We ordered some tapas (Spicy Tuna, Chorizo de Jabugo, Fried Squid) and all were delicious and mouth watering. The spicy tuna had the perfect kick to it and the fried squid was cooked to perfection. The chorizo I felt you can get anywhere, so when coming here definitely try something you normally wouldn't get elsewhere or from wherever you are from. The highlight of my meal was the sirloin con foie gras (sirloin steak with duck liver). Make sure with each bite you have a little bit of steak, duck liver and some onions and your taste buds will thank you. If you come here, you'll definitely have to get this dish (22 euros, but worth it). I also ordered the Barcelona common beer which went great with my lunch meal. The service was great and the food came out fairly quickly. For the two drinks, steak, and three tapas dishes my bill came out to around 60something euros. I highly recommend putting this place on your itinerary list when coming to Barcelona. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Jeni L.

Yelp
This has to be one of the most exciting places to eat in Barcelona. Be prepared to wait for a seat but it's 100 percent worth it. The bartenders are energetic and everything on the menu is a delight. The fois and steak made such an impression on my husband and I, we circled back to the restaurant to order another right before they closed at midnight. If I could give it more than five stars I would. I still have dreams about the good eats here.
google avatar

Katia B.

Yelp
Must try the Solomillo con foi. Oh my goodness so delicious we ordered two. One of the most expensive tapas on the menu but very well worth the 22€. Also try the croquettes, the albóndigas The place gets packed in the evenings. Recommend getting there with time and having patience. Very reasonably priced for all the delicious food and great service.
google avatar

KC C.

Yelp
Friend took me to this place to stop in for some Sangria, though it seems to be a nice beer selection too. The section we were in was pretty tight, but the server was very friendly and we were able to get seats. Even though I didn't speak Spanish, we ordered the foie gras and chorizo, along with sangria. While I did find the chorizo a little too salty for my taste, I enjoyed the foie gras.
google avatar

Mariela D.

Yelp
It's not often I've encountered food so good that I would fly back just to eat there. This is that place. Specifically, their sirloin with foie gras (solomillo con foie) is the best steak I've ever had in my life. HOLY CRAP. This fall-apart juicy sirloin is grilled with bits of charred onion to add caramelized goodness. The atmosphere is the second-best part. It's narrow, crowded with only bar stools to sit on - all facing a spoon-and-knife clanging squad of older Spanish men cooking up a storm. It's truly an experience in local Catalan life. The staff all yell orders to each other and the patrons are local old men, which changes to tourists later in the night. It's no-frills amazing food. Cooks can speak English only based on what is on the menu, but the menu is in both English and Spanish. Watching them cook is a spectacle within itself, and you'll find comfort in the noise and bustle of a true Catalan gem. I would travel back just to come here. Amazing.

Yelp
Barcelona and I have a rocky relationship. Sometimes I think we need to break up. However, the one thing I'll always keep near and dear to my heart is this joint. Vaso de Oro is that quintessential tapas place for me. The solomillo with peppers. Their croquetas. Their chocos. Their surprisingly friendly attitudes when you come in (not common in Bcn), all of it is epic. The food is always delicious and it's always a good time. I always eat here at least once whenever I'm Barcelona and strongly recommend you do the same. This is my favorite joint in the entire city. No frills. Good prices. Epic food and good people.
google avatar

Bori A.

Yelp
Vaso de Oro was recommended by a friend as his absolute favourite. As it is a relatively small, narrow space that seems to be pretty crowded at all times, we would have skipped it if it would not have been for his message - but now we know that it would have been a pity to miss this opportunity. We got seated at the bar and received the bilingual menus, but already knew what to order - the steak with green peppers and their beer are great, but their Russian salad is the absolute highlight - if you listen carefully, you will hear that every second word seems to be the 'rusa', and that is for a very good reason. Everything else is delicious, too, but, as my friend said, you should not even think of not trying the Russian salad - believe me, you will not regret it.
google avatar

Lu Y.

Yelp
Awesome hole in the wall I recommend the padrons peppers sirloin with fois, but everything looked good. Very small area, worth cramming into the bar seats. Good for happy hour / snack
google avatar

Miguel P.

Yelp
Excellent food experience. Be prepare for a causal Spanish experience. This is a small bar where you can enjoy excellent but and a causal atmosphere with locals. It is crowded so be prepared to wait or have a caña (beer) standing. The solomillo with foie is a must. The combination of flavors is marvelous.
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
Good tapas and cool atmosphere, but service was a bit difficult. We ordered three tapas, the Patatas Bravas, fried artichokes, and manchego cheese platter. All were very tasty! Seating was very tight.

Yelp
I hate that I ate here. Mostly because I'm now an entire continent away from a rendezvous with my favorite steak in the world. It's not just the romanticism of traveling abroad to a place like Barcelona that I make a claim like that. It's the best steak I've ever had in my life. They do something magical to a pile of meat and it happens right before your eyes. The process goes as such: 1. You order a steak 2. You indicate you'd like foie gras on said steak 3. You order something to drink - a beer is most suitable 4. A man in a white coat retreats to the kitchen and returns behind the bar with a slab of red meat, a foie gras patty, and a bevy of raw white onions 5. Meat cooks, onions caramelize, foie gras sears 6. The process is complete and you're handed a plate of simple culinary brilliance The steak is best paired with the nature fat drippings it comes with naturally that collect at the bottom of your plate. It's more than enough to pack a flavorful punch. This will be a stop I make every time I visit Barcelona again in the future. It's divey, has a rich legacy, and is bloody delicious.

Yelp
My Favourite in Barca.... I kid you not.... The greatest restaurant I've ever been to. Has a bar feeling but with great food... From steak to tapas to good wine and alcoholic beverages. This one has everything covered!!!!! No words needed.... Just go there and order everything fo real!!!!!!!
google avatar

Bora K.

Yelp
We stopped by Vaso de Oro for a "snack" of sorts, if you can call Steak and Foie Gras a snack I guess. A slab of steak hot off the grill topped with a huge lobe of melt in your mouth Foie Gras. I have never tasted anything so earthy and decadent at the same time. It was sincerely unforgettable. Have a glass of the house beer to wash down all that meaty goodness. You'll need something to cut the fat.
google avatar

Farooq K.

Yelp
This spot has an old-school feel that washes over you when you walk in. The bartenders wear these navy admiral like uniforms and are all probably 60+. The crowd, at least around 6 PM when there aren't swarms of people, seems to be mostly locals who know the bartenders pretty well. All good signs. Sat down and ordered my favorite bar drink (Clara con limon --- beer with fanta), and proceeded to order the solomillo (sirloin) with foie, Patatas bravas, and boquarones (sardines). I did have a friend with me, so don't judge! All of the food was absolutely on point. The steak with foie was moist, tender, and rich. The grilled onions work really well with the steak and foie --- makes for some excellent bread dipping once you've polished off all the goodies. The bravas are excellent --- how can you go wrong with crispy potatoes, mayonnaise, and hot sauce. The sardines had a lovely tartness from the vinaigrette and were not fishy at all. My friend, a Barcelona resident, says these are the best sardines in town. I'll take her word for it. When it's all said and done you had yourself a very fine meal in a pretty cool atmosphere. For those who can't speak Spanish there is English on the backside of the menu (saw a few folks struggle communicating with the bartenders I Spanish ... Who then simply turned over the menu to reveal English). I'm pretty sure they don't accept credit cards and be sure to bring a good amount of cash if you're ordering the steak. This isn't your typically super cheap tapas place --- The steak with foie will put you back €22 for a good 8 ounces. It's a decent portion --- but I'm not one to share and can easily finish one plate by myself! It's worth every penny and then some. I can see why many folks talk about how crowded and cramped it can get. The bar area is very slim and I would simply recommend coming during off hours (6ish) where you can get a seat and enjoy yourself!
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Great beer and the best tapas, what more could you want? Well...how about an awesome staff in Captain uniforms who break into song every so often? Just another reason why Vaso de Oro is the best tapas bar in Barcelona. Like most good tapas bars make sure to push your way in and get yourself a spot at the bar anyway possible. Its all part of the adventure and it seems to make the food a bit more satisfying after all the jockeying. This is a very long bar with multiple entrances. When walking by once I saw someone literally fall out the door since the space is so narrow between the bar and the door. They rolled past the sidewalk almost into the street. Make sure to get an anchored spot at the bar! Once you make it in order their beer, only two options, light or dark, so this should be an easy selection. Their wine is also good, although most drank beer and it seemed more appropriate with all the servers dressed in boat captain outfits. Next you must get a steak, sounds weird for a tapas bar but it is amazingly simple and so good. It is quickly seared with quality olive oil, some onions, salt and little pepper. Yummmm...Perfection...Oh wait, and don't forget to top it off with some Foie Gras! Making it somehow better than perfect! If still hungry try their fried chorizo. Salty and big with flavor, they are perfect with the beer. The croquettes are also a solid choice. You really can't go wrong with much on the menu. All you need to know is, with so little time on our vacation, with food being one of top priorities, we went there TWICE. Don't miss it!

Yelp
This was our first stop for a quick bite after checking into our hotel. The beer selection seemed to be different varieties of a house brew or some other local brewery (all available in bottle or draft). Either way they were a welcome change from the usual beer fare you find at most places in Spain. We ordered two tapas, blood sausage and peppers. Both very good and recommended. We arrived around 4:30 on a weekday and there was a small crowd of what seemed to be locals. Staff was friendly and there was no communication issues with my poor Spanish and their Eglish, which was a little better. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend for a few beers and quick tapas if you're in between the Gothic Quarter and the beach.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I stopped by only for a beer but food seemed great as I was watching a cook putting together a steak dish. Although it may be extremely packed, waiters notice you and try to serve you as they can.
google avatar

Maile N.

Yelp
This was worth a tapas stop near the Barceloneta. The guy behind the counter deafeningly yells out your order and it is a busy place with mostly a long counter for seating. Both the locals and tourists seem to equally know about this place. The foie gras was a steal at 9 eu! Loved the anchovies, olives, cheese and shishito peppers. This place would definitely be in my book to come back to, especially for that foie gras!

Yelp
This place! So it is literally a little hole in the wall with maybe like 6 tables total and a bar but the food is out of this world! An absolute must have is the beef tenderloin and foie gras. That was the absolute best steak I have ever had. It's so tender and absolutely melts in your mouth. We finished off our meal with a Santiago cake- an amazing little cake made from almond flour and oranges and served with a Port-like white wine. I highly recommend pouring the wine over the cake. So delicious! Must try little place in the Barcelonetta neighborhood.

Yelp
STOP LOOKING ! YOU FOUND THE BEST TAPAS EXPERIENCE IN BARCELONA. Spent a week in Barcelona, tried tapas all across the city. The authenticity of this tapas bar is exactly what we wanted but clearly caters to an international crowd (menus in multiple languages). Arrived about noon on a weekday - and virtually all seating is on bar stools at the main bar. Warmly welcomed by a very happy, attentive, caring staff of waiters. Immediately greeted, offered menus , drinks, snacks etc. Waiters are SUPER friendly, and all seemed to love what they do. Vibe of this place is definitely not modern & not contemporary which is exactly why we loved it!! We were on vacation to experience the charm of Spain, and I love that the restaurant honored their roots. Food was delicious- only time to eat these ==Hot, delicate flavorful croquettes ==Sirloin steak (The flavor is GREAT!!! Don't miss out on this) ==Grilled Tuna Steak (Delicious!) ==Patatas Bravas ==Coffee So thankful to Yelpers for the rating so I could eat here.

Yelp
Great beer, amazing tapas, and friendly service. The atmosphere is intimate and genuine as are the three or so men that staff the place and tend to you promptly as to not want you to go thirsty or hungry. We had the the following: Patatas Bravas: A generous portion of oven roasted potatoes with the very hot brava sauce poured over the center of the plate for you to dip your potatoes so you can determine how much heat you would like. This method also keeps the potatoes from getting soggy. I was blown away at first bite. An excellent accompaniment to their in-house beer. Manchego cheese: Nothing special to add. Quality manchego sliced to order. Pinchitos de chorizo: Deep fried to order and oh so soft and succulent. Great beer food as well. My wife and I ordered four pinchitos to share and then had to order a second round as I needed some more of that hot pork goodness in my mouth. Beer: Beer was very good and refreshing. Crisp with body without being too heavy. I wish I took tasting notes to share but I think it was quite similar to the ubiquitous Estrella Damn. It was absolutely one of my favorite experiences in Barcelona, food or otherwise, and was trying to make time to revisit but couldn't unfortunately. If I ever find myself in Barcelona again this will be my first stop for sure.

Yelp
This is an authentic locals bar in Barceloneta, close to the Metro station. The bar is long and incredibly narrow - so be prepared to squeeze past other customers to get a seat. (Everyone else does). As well as the relative scarcity of tourists (perhaps not now it's on Qype...), they do authentic, filling Catalan tapas and serve their own beer: that's right, this is a brew-pub, (or should that be 'brew-bar'?) and they do a lovely 7% amber coloured lager, Vaso de Oro Rubia (just ask for 'rubia'). The staff were friendly and efficient, as you'd expect, and the prices are a joy compared with some of the inflated tourist haunts around. Recommended.

Yelp
Vasa de oro ended up being one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona! It's right around the corner from Barceloneta beach, tucked into the neighborhood right along the shore. Amazing food and drinks, great service. Their craft beer on tap is excellent and probably some of the best beer we had in Spain. We really enjoyed their foie gras as well. There are also a lot of simpler foods, such as their ham/cheese sandwich but that was still mouth-watering as well! I recommend you go there during non-peak hours to try and snag a seat at the bar or one of the surrounding tables, otherwise be prepared to stand and wiggle your way into the bar area.

Yelp
Very quaint and small bar but the food was amazing, good cold beer and the gentleman behind the bar treated us (tourists) as one of their own, highly recommended.
